Olivia Shapiro’s case is just the elixir Detective David Orlando needs to turn his career around. As fate would have it, Olivia’s husband, James is a missing person. The key objective is that he must be found. Or so it seems.

Detective Orlando soon realizes this simple case is not so simple after all. Just when he thinks the kidnapping mystery is solved…a new twist enters the mix. Questions and answers swirl within a web of deceit, it’s his job to decipher who is telling the truth and what is a ghost-chase. As he moves deeper into a family’s past, Orlando finds himself entrapped in a much larger conspiracy than he ever dreamt he’d investigate. He is given the option to save only one person he truly cares for. Racing against the clock, he cannot help but feel as if he chose the wrong option. He finds himself having to make a life altering decision, and everything around him seems to be falling apart. While he is battling with his demons, another is battling her own.

Olivia Shapiro has finally found out the truth about Carlisle Castro, a man she was convinced had killed her mother. Giving the evidence to Mr. Orlando, she waits to see what can be done, but as time passes her husband is found dead. Soon she is fueled by anger, and she is seeking vengeance for the man she lost – the man she loves.

At long last, everything seems to be going Orlando’s way. Those who had used Carlisle Castro to cover up were finally punished for their crimes.

A short while later, young Meghan Malone is abducted from her apartment. No one knows how much time she has left before her captors get what they want.

Attempting to find out the truth when there are only secrets is a difficult and dangerous task for PI David Orlando. He is working alone this time, attempting to solve the abduction mystery, find the missing person and clear the names of those wrongly accused.

David’s partner Emily Awret is working on her own to solve the case of the abduction of her godson, and her emotions are running rampant… for more than one reason.

Will David and Emily succeed in finding the missing persons and solve the abduction mysteries? Are they willing to pay the price for their decisions? Who can they really trust?

A good read

Begins slow, and you will feel it's not worth reading. But as you get in further, it sort of grows on and the story takes a few twists and turns

The characters though could have been built up better.

Time wasting

This could have been a really good book, the plot has a lot of promise, but the writing is so formal and stiff that it's incredibly annoying. I wasted too much time on this book.

Needs better editing...too many errors in grammar. Distracted from the story.

Like the concept. At end stated many other books written by this author. Am surprised, but probably will not read them.

I gave this book a four. But the mysteries were a five. Though I had trouble at times reading with the run on sentences, lack of contractions and compounding sentences it's worth the read. I think the story would benefit with use of a professional editor.

Weird

I didn't like the way it was written, wording seemed off, thus, distracting. I shelved this early on. But it was simple to read.
