I need more!!! This is the first book by the author i read and it blew me away. The writing, world building and characters are amazing.
North is a hockey goalie who lives with his two roommates, but his whole team likes to hang out at a club which his team captain co-owns with Tanner. He had been warned off Tanner by his roommates and intends to keep clear of him until he goes into the storage a sees Tanner having s*x with someone, they lock eyes and his world stops.
Tanner is the second in command in the Mafia that runs multiple towns. He has been attracted to North since he first saw him but intents to steer away since he is a public figure and a senators son while he lives in the shadows. Until they lock eyes in the storage room and all bets are off. He intents to hookup with North to scratch the itch but their hookup revels to him that North could be so much more than a random hookup.
Once Tanner gets over his initial fears he starts perusing and stalking North in ernest, when North gets traded to another team he decides to keep perusing him no matter what because North is his and no one else’s.
The story just keeps on giving and giving until the very end. Once their relationship is established i was not expecting the twist that came!!!

The Goalie's Hitman was fantastic!! It's Tijan's mafia world meshed with her hockey world and between two hot guys...yes!🙌 Yes!🙌 Oh, hell yes! 🙌
North Alistair is a gay goalie and he is the golden retriever of hot hockey players. Tanner Bennett, oh yes, from THE Bennett mafia is snarky, confident, and so full of ego, I fell in love with him just as much as North did.
Tanner gets what he wants and he wants North, not that North was complaining, remember that golden retriever personality I mentioned. However, North would also like to get to know Tanner and that was a bit tougher considering Tanner's job. Ssshhhh, we don't talk about his job.😉 North, however is an open book and since North is instantly hooked on Tanner, it seems he'll take whatever scraps Tanner dishes out to him and no matter how much Tanner tries to keep North at arms length North can't stay away. But when North's life takes a spin, it's the man who originally said he didn't want more, or something complicated, that comes through just when North needs it, or him I should say.🥰
For a big, professional goalie I loved that North was vulnerable with his emotions and was all in with Tanner from day one. 🥰 He's there for his friends, that he constantly refers to as family, and his actual family, that he loves with total support. There is a reason North has such a big heart because whatever he puts out into the universe he gets back tenfold and I was such a goner for this big goalie. He's extremely likeable, I mean a total green flag book boyfriend, I guess except for his choice of red flagged boyfriends, except I loved Tanner just as much too.😉
Tijan's writing is engaging and I was drawn in from page one. I loved North's sweet, loving, big hearted personality and I also loved Tanner's sharp-tongued, quick witted personality that fit so well all tucked up next to North. Basically they evened each other out and I loved that.
There are a lot of interconnected character mentions with ties to several of Tijan's other series, which was fantastic! However, The Goalie's Hitman can be read as a complete standalone and enjoyed for the touching and thrilling story it is.

This book has burrowed its self in my head and under my skin and its not going anywhere.
This storyline was touching, it was thrilling and beautiful. It is the absolute perfect mix between hockey romance and a dark mafia- which are two of my favourite genres.
These two men were absolute heartthrobs- individuals and even moreso together. They complimented each other well, their chemistry was off the charts, they were both possessive, there was some stalker vibes, but they needed each other, and they were so god damn sweet and hell the spice was incredible.
Im obsessed with them and this book and cannot wait until the next book because of how this books finishes, I think we will be seeing a lot more of the boys soon x

November 4, 2026The Goalie's Hitman by Tijan is a staand alone set in the Bennett Mafia World. TGH is best read after the BM books.
This is a mm hockey mafia romance of its finest. I just wanted to take a peek at the story, but hours and hours later I read the last page.
North is a hockey player and out in the open for some time now. He's rooming with some other players and there her meets Tanner Bennett, his roomies boss. Tanner keeps his secrets close, his enemies closer and is like catnip for North.
An intriguing read, I loved just everything about the story, all the stars.
This is a mm hockey mafia romance of its finest. I just wanted to take a peek at the story, but hours and hours later I read the last page.

Did Not Finish
November 7, 2026DNF @ 14%. This is my first Tijan read and, really, everything about this should have been a win for me. Alas, I think Tijan’s writing style may not be one I vibe with. The writing was all so simple and repetitive. I felt like I kept reading the same thing over and over in the monologues. And, despite being grown adults, every single character felt so juvenile. I don’t even know how to explain it but they all made me want to bash my head into the wall. A good thing really. Saves me from going down the rabbit hole of this backlist. My TBR says thanks.

Out of the couple of MM romances I have read this is definitely a favorite! Hockey, chemistry, tension and the mafia? I mean cmon it has everything! This one had everything and it was such a fun time! Tijan is a favorite author of mine as well. I haven’t read Tijan book I haven’t loved!
