First Book from our church Library. Yes, you heard it right ! Our church has got a whole new library. I had always loved Christian books . I have not read many books in that particular genre and i am hoping to read as many books as possible from that genre in the coming days .

As a child,We are always unsure of what we want to be when we grow up but Jim Elliot always knew what he wanted to be in Life. He wanted to be a Missionary . Missionary is a person who is sent to proclaim the good news about Jesus to people who have never heard of Jesus. Its hard to be a missionary .Life is not easy for them. They leave their home, their church and goes off to live in a foreign land ,learning their language so that they can tell about Jesus in the language, which the natives understand . ,It was a big step for Jim to take that decision. But he was firm in his decision and God was with him.
When he prayed for God's Guidance, he knew that God wanted him to go to to the South America.

So he went to Ecuador which is in the south America ,following God's guidance . His main aim was to go and preach the good news to a tribe named Auca Tribe, which is in the Ecuador Region. He and his four friends succeeded in going to the village where the tribe lived .They learnt few words from the language which the auca Indians spoke .These five friends had left their wives in a nearby village where they had stayed for a reasonable amount of time.So Jim Elliot and his four friends ,namely Pete Flemming ,Roger Youderian,Nate saint and Ed McCully left their wives saying they would contact once the mission is successful.
Their wives continued to share the good news to other villages, irrespective of what had happenned. Elizabeth Elliot,(Wife of Jim Elliot ) went to the region where her husband was killed and preached the good news .Because of the courage of five friends, The Auca Indians came to know about Jesus , even though the Missionaries didn't utter a single word about Jesus to them.God worked in auca people's hearts .

I am enclosing a picture of the five brave people , who gave their lives to Jesus :

P.S :I wrote this review in a hurry since it was past midnight . So please dont mind the blabbering .Hoping to polish the review once i get the time

Jim Elliot's story is a powerful one, and this book takes a good look at him. The book is written for middle school students, but even this audience struggled with the book. Not because the book is too difficult, but because of the writing style of the author. I enjoyed it, but the writing could be more engaging so that it could better reach the intended audience.
