Katie Lane is the USA Today bestselling author of the Deep in the Heart of Texas, Hunk for the Holidays, Overnight Billionaires, Tender Heart Texas, Bad Boy Ranch, Kingman Ranch, Holiday Ranch series. Katie lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and when she isn’t writing, she enjoys reading, traveling, and cuddling with her high school sweetheart and cairn terrier, Roo.
Katie Lane always leaves me smiling. I'm so glad I finally started her Overnight Billionaires series.
Basically, Livy's stepfather died and instead of leaving their lingerie empire to her he left it to her step cousins. Three burly men who live in the swamps, have bushy beards and are rough around the edges. I mean. Yall. How fun is that?! Watching them step into their swanky new lives, deal with a little romance, and maybe some corporate espionage to boot was a good time all around.
Livy and Deacon were a fun pair. They have some bad history from when they were kids-- something I thought should have been addressed a bit more strongly-- but I did love their interactions as adults. The two are hot for each other but it's seriously damn inconvenient for both of them and they had a bit of a growl in each others direction. I liked these two. They each needed to find their spots in the world and once they did they both had a glow about them. The romance was a bit light since they were trying to save the company but I did like them together.
The rest of the characters have me wanting their stories, too. His brothers and even his dad were all curious men. It'll be fun seeing them all clean up and find their spots in the company. I loved her assistant and the company book keeper, too. A fun group, I think, and one I'm ready to spend more time with.
A spot of dirty dealings added some intrigue. Someone is trying to ruin the company from the inside so they can buy it out on the cheap. It kept me guessing and layered in some excitement.
All in all, A Billionaire Between the Sheets was light sexy fun. It wasn't quite as quirky as Lane's cowboy series but it was a sassy start to this little world full of burly men and delicate lingerie.
Oh man, this book is steamy and laugh-out-loud funny. It's not an easy mix to pull off, but Katie Lane does it beautifully. Her heroine is sweet and fragile, the hero is a knight in shining armor with a balance of uncouthness, and the secondary cast is fantastic. From nudist neighbors to a nymphomaniac assistant, to a lemon squeezer that looks like a gun (I seriously need one of these!), I chuckled during most of this book, and am still smiling after I'm done.

Some reviews are so exciting to write. I often can't wait to share with other readers my thoughts and excitement. But this time, that's not the case. This one was a DNF (did not finish). I don't take that lightly. I truly try hard to see the good stuff in a book and push through. But when pushing through becomes increasingly difficult, I call mercy.
Olivia Harrington and Deacon Beaumont have history, a brief one from their childhood. Let me just say that even though they weren't blood related ( Olivia's stepfather is Deacons uncle ), it still squicks me out that they are into each other. Maybe it's my own hang ups, but I have never looked at any of my cousins as anything other than cousins, even my few step cousins, because, hello...they're family! But these two have a tumultuous, hot to trot thing for each other. Whatever floats your boat, I guess...
One of the things that made it so difficult for me to read this book was the constant rambling of the characters. Even Olivia's secretary was all squirrelly and her sentences never seemed to end. But Olivia's took the cake! I may have told my iPad to shut up at one point! Every time a conversation started, I would think, oh lawd, here we go again!
I went into this book with so much excitement. I love the billionaire trope! Unfortunately, this book just couldn't hold my attention. I gave it until the 60% mark and then waved the white flag. I think I was fair in how much time I devoted. And I truly wish that I could have enjoyed it. Books are like anything else in life...subjective. Someone else is going to love this book, and I think that's great! It just wasn't my cup of tea. I couldn't connect with the characters or the plot. I struggled to find the chemistry between Olivia and Deacon. Maybe it picked up in the last 40%, I don't know. When I DNF a book, it makes me incredibly heavy hearted. I want to praise everything I read. I don't for a second think that this book wasn't the result of a lot of sweat and hard work. I can absolutely appreciate that. It's because of that that I tried very hard to finish it. But alas, I lost the battle.
Fun book and good start to the series. Olivia is the stepdaughter of the man who started French Kiss, a lingerie company. She grew up working for the company, being groomed by her stepfather to take it over. But when he died, he left the company to his three nephews instead. Olivia is determined to buy their shares and go back to what she was meant to do.
Deacon and his three brothers have grown up in Louisiana. There is bad blood between them and their uncle, so they are stunned to learn of their inheritance. Each has their own projects underway and could use the money that Olivia is offering. But Deacon has two things on his mind: First, a chance to get revenge on Olivia and his uncle for something that happened in the past, and second, a feeling that there is more going on than meets the eye. So he shows up in San Francisco, ready for battle.
The book started out fun and maintained the fun along with passion and a bit of mystery. The sparks flew between Olivia and Deacon from the moment she showed up in Louisiana, though neither is happy about it. Once Deacon arrives in San Francisco, he discovers that the company is actually in trouble, and his instinct to protect and rescue is awakened. He decides that he's not quite ready to sell out, and instead takes over the business side. Though initially ticked off by his actions, Olivia quickly discovers that Deacon knows what he's doing.
I liked both Deacon and Olivia. Olivia is stubborn, beautiful and creative. Though business isn't really her strong point, she wants to bring the company back from the brink of bankruptcy because of the wonderful memories of her time with her stepfather. Her first love is design, but she believes that she isn't good at it, so she has put those dreams aside. Deacon's arrival upends her plans, as she fights her attraction to him at the same time she has to try to work with him. Deacon is a smart, sexy and focused. He's got his own development company in Louisiana, but the challenge of saving French Kiss is too much to resist. He quickly loses his thirst for revenge, and instead finds his protective instincts roused by Olivia.
I enjoyed the development of their relationship. They butt heads a lot at the beginning, their antagonism fueled by an underlying attraction that both try to resist. Once they decided they were on the same side, their connection grew quickly. I especially loved seeing Deacon discover the woman underneath the business façade. From his support of her creative side to wanting to show her the world outside the company, he found himself wanting more than just the passion that flared between them. I also enjoyed seeing Olivia realize that there was much more to Deacon than the backwoods Louisiana hillbilly that she had believed him to be. But both also have a fair share of pride, and admitting to their feelings and accepting the vulnerability that means, is something that is hard to do. Some misunderstandings push them apart until each realizes the truth of what they want for their futures. I loved their big moments at the end, which were both funny (airport) and romantic (fashion show).
There was also some mystery behind the problems at French Kiss. Deacon stumbled upon one employee who appeared to be working with someone else to bring down the company. This would force Olivia to sell it for pennies on the dollar. With the help of Jason, company lawyer, and Kelli, Olivia's PA, Deacon also discovers that someone is skimming money from the company, adding to its problems. The resolutions of both these issues turned out to be different than I expected, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the book.
The secondary characters all added extra fun to the story. Babette, the French designer that Olivia found to design a line of men's underwear, was hilarious with her over-the-top dramatics and her horrible designs. I loved Deacon's reactions to those. Olivia's PA, Kelli, was a hoot with her not quite office appropriate clothing and outspoken personal revelations. Her developing relationship with Jason was fun to see. I loved Olivia's aging hippie neighbors and their unique dress code. They were a little flaky, but also fond of Olivia and watched out for her. The juicer man and the seagull, Jonathan, turned out to be more important than I expected. But my favorites were Deacon's brothers, Nash and Grayson. Both are just as sexy as Deacon, and have more in the way of blatant charm. Though they don't always agree with Deacon, they support him anyway. I loved their part in discovering Olivia's talent. I can't wait to read their stories.
Billionaire Between the Sheets is the first in Katie Lane's The Unexpected Billionaires series. Olivia Harrington has given her all to the success of her step-father's lingerie company, French Kiss. Yet, when her step-father passes away, he leaves the company to his estranged nephews. Enter Deacon Valentino Beaumont. When Olivia attempts to buy out the Beaumont brother's shares, Deacon decides to get his revenge on his step-cousin and uncle who never wanted anything to do with his family. But when Deacon meets Olivia again, his feelings change. Not just for her but for his uncle's legacy as well. What follows is a fast paced story with lots of silly moments, mystery, and romance. I loved all the characters. Not just Olivia and the Beaumonts, but the hippy nudist neighbors, the strange juicer salesman, the wacky French designer, and the completely inappropriate secretary. I can't wait to read more in the series and find out what's in store for the other sexy Beaumont men. This was my first Katie Lane book but it won't be my last! I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Olivia Harrington worked hard all her life for French Kiss, her stepfather's lingerie company. But when he died, he gave the shares in his will to his three estranged nephews. Olivia have a plan : to buy the business from the Beaumont Brothers. Should be simple... But Deacon Beaumont didn't forget the turmoil his first and last meeting with Olivia created when they were teenagers so why should he make things easier for the young woman ? But lust and love have the unfortunate habit to interfering with people's idea.
It's probably not the first time I write it, but Katie Lane always hook the reader with an unpredictable and great beginning. I liked the fact that the guys were not born billionaire. It bring something different to the rich guy trope and their characters. I also enjoyed the fact Deacon wasn't too single-minded about his revenge but I'll admit that he gave some orders that made me cringe. The character of the French designer annoyed me. There's over the top and then there's Babette. But the excentric neighbors and Olivia's uninvited trespasser were really funny. Things get a little too unbelievable at the end but I still had a great time with this book.
A Billionaire Between the Sheets is my first book by Katie Lane and I just love her writing style. I was expecting this story to be like most billionaire books I've read. Usually they are intense with a few light scenes thrown in, but this one was utterly fun from the very beginning. I think that has to do with the fact that Deacon Beaumont and his brothers are not billionaires when we first meet them. Contrarily, they are living in the swamp and when they are first described, they put me in mind of Duck Dynasty.
Review for A Billionaire Between the Sheets by Katie Lane
A Billionaire Between the Sheets is the first book in the Billionaires Overnight series by Katie Lane and follows the oldest Beaumont brother, Deacon. When his estranged uncle dies leaving him and his two brothers equal controlling shares in this company, French Kiss, they are shocked to say the least. When their step-cousin Olivia Harrington comes and offers to buy their shares for fifty-million dollars each, the brothers are quick to sign on the dotted line. Except Deacon doesn’t sign, instead he decides to take a trip to visit his dear cousin and see why she was so quick to want to buy them out.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters are really well developed and easily likable. Deacon is all kinds of sexy alpha man. Olivia is sort of scattered and in need of a take charge personality in her life, not because she is weak, but because she’s no really cut out to lead. She’s artsy and would rather be designing than managing. Deacon taking charge allowed her to find her place at French Kiss. While sometimes he was infuriating, often times he was infuriating, he was also coming from a good place.
The supporting characters were great. I loved Grayson and Nash Beaumont. The brothers have such different personalities, I can’t wait to get ahold of their books. Not to mention the quirky and highly inappropriate Kelly and Babette the off her rocker French designer. They were great for some serious giggles and a few eye rolls.
The relationship between Deacon and Olivia grew at a fairly steady pace. I didn’t feel like it was insta-love even though love happened fairly quickly considering how short a timeline the book covered. It was a quick to burn, quick to cool type of passion. A lot of push and pull, but not so much that I felt it was unrealistic or forced.
“And if you’re my woman, I don’t mind you calling me your man.”
If you like romance a little on the sweet side, with sexual tension, and a bit of who-done-it mixed in, this a great book to pick up. Four Stars for storyline and Three Wet Panties for smut factor!

Wow! I have to say I've always enjoyed Katie Lane's books but I think A BILLIONAIRE BETWEEN THE SHEETS may in fact be my favorite to date! The story pulled me in from the first sentence and I could NOT put this one down. I stayed up all night reading and enjoying the story and characters. There is heat, love, and more to this one. I loved the interactions between not just Deacon and Olivia but between all the characters. There was plenty to uncover while reading and I couldn't wait to find out more about the characters and where it would lead. I have to admit I'm not sad I have to wait to see what comes next! Fans of great contemporary romances with spice, romance, and family ties will adore this one. I highly recommend it to everyone! You'll be glad you picked this one up, just be warned it's one of those hard to put down reads!
Deacon, he's not bossy, not at all, "before her mouth could finish dropping open, he headed for the door. He stopped halfway there and turned around . “Make that three things: The corset. I’d like to see it modeled… soon.” Deacon is such a demanding and sexy man, “if that corset is an example, you’re not a good designer, you’re a great designer. And as far as you’re concerned, it’s not the Beaumont brothers. It’s the Beaumont brother. From now on, I want to be the only one who gives you inspiration, Livy. Got that?” This book was a fun read I really loved Deacon.
Olivia Harrington goes to the Louisiana bayou to get the Beaumont men to sign a contract selling their shares in French Kiss to her. She neglects to tell them that the controlling interest in the company was left to them. She had worked in the company her whole life and felt she should be the CEO not some rednecks from the backwoods. Deacon watches as his brothers Nash and Grayson sign but he holds off. When the attorneys for Michael Beaumont come and tell the brothers the controlling shares were left to them, Deacon wonders why Michael didn’t leave the control to his step-daughter Olivia whose life revolved around French Kiss. He intends to go to the company headquarters and be the new boss and find out what is going on. Besides, he has always been attracted to Olivia.
This is a fun, crazy wild ride of a story about Deacon and Olivia's love story. The three brother end up inheriting a lingerie company. Bolivia's stepfather had owned it and she helped fun it. Love all the characters in this adventure. The brothers. Olivia. The neighbors, the assistant and all the other crazy one . Love the ups and downs along the wild ride in this book. Awesome.story.Couldn't put it down.
Such a lovely story. Really like this author. Characters are well developed and quite love able. Several twists and turns to get to a delightful ending. Hope the next two books in series are as good.
I didn't love it or hate it. The main characters were fine, not anything to get excited about. The hero was a bit overbearing at times. The ending was cute. Not much else to say. I am going to read the other brothers' books. I liked their humor.
Olivia's stepfather died and left the controlling shares of his company to his nephews. Olivia wanted the company and offered the Baumounts money. Deacon wanted to know why and so took interest in the company and in Olivia. So much that they fell in love

REVIEW: 3.75 stars----A BILLIONAIRE BETWEEN THE SHEETS is the first installment in Katie Lane’s contemporary, adult THE UNEXPECTED BILLIONAIRES romance series. This is lingerie designer Olivia Harrington, and Deacon Beaumont’s storyline.
Told from dual third person perspectives A BILLIONAIRE BETWEEN THE SHEETS focuses on the French Kiss lingerie company, and the new owners Deacon, Grayson and Nash Beaumont-three brothers from the Louisiana Bayou who inherited controlling stocks in their uncle’s dying business. Deacon, Grayson, Nash and their father Donny Jon Beaumont are the poor Beaumont’s from the other side of the tracks, and it has been years since their uncle wanted anything to do with this side of the family. Enter Olivia Harrington, their uncle’s step daughter, and the woman who offers the brothers fifty-million dollars each for their shares in French Kiss lingerie. What ensues is Deacon’s endeavor to save the company from bankruptcy while fighting off his feelings for Olivia Harrington.
The storyline follows the building relationship between Olivia and Deacon, and Deacon’s desire to destroy the man who left everything he owned to the Beaumont brothers. Deacon believes there is more to ‘uncle Michael’ than anyone knows, and he is willing to destroy the man’s reputation and name by taking over the company and proving the previous owner knew nothing about running a successful business. But first, Deacon sets out to seduce Olivia Harrington hoping to ensure that ownership stays in the brother’s hands. The romance takes our couple from New York to Paris, elegant dinners and quickies in the boardroom-the $ex scenes are intimate without the use of graphic erotic imagery.
We are introduced to Deacon’s brothers-Nash and Grayson-a couple of lighthearted brothers who are willing to step up and help Olivia with what needs to be done. We are also introduced to several employees of French Kiss lingerie including PA Kelly, attorney Jason, and French designer Babette who likes to bedazzle men’s thongs and underwear; and Olivia’s eccentric and naked neighbors who are more like former hippies than aging members of society.
A BILLIONAIRE BETWEEN THE SHEETS has a little bit of everything: intrigue, mystery and suspense; sex, romance and love; family secrets, lies and misunderstandings. The premise is entertaining and fast paced; the characters are colorful, animated –the Beaumont brothers are full of mischief and fun; the romance is a roller coaster ride to a happily ever after. Katie Lane’s A BILLIONAIRE BETWEEN THE SHEETS is a fun, flirty and great introduction to a new series about billionaire brothers and the women they love.
A BILLIONAIRE BETWEEN THE SHEETS is a fun and sexy rags-to-riches story about family, healing and love that takes place in the glitzy and glamorous world of lingerie fashion and I enjoyed it so much, I didn't want it to end.
Olivia Harrington grew up in the hallways of world-famous lingerie company, French Kiss and always expected to inherit it from her step-father so it's big shock when he leaves the controlling interest to his estranged nephews. But Olivia's willingness to give up everything to get the company back because of the cherished memories of working beside the man who was like a father to her find her braving the gator-infested bayous of Louisiana to track down the Beaumont brothers with an offer, never mind that her true talent lies in design and not in running a company.
Deacon Beaumont is shocked to learn that he and his brothers inherited their late uncle's almost bankrupt lingerie empire. Deacon is a savvy businessman and selling to Olivia makes sense but the challenge of bringing the company back from ruin gets his juices flowing in a major way. His palpable attraction to Olivia and his need to rescue her also play into his decision to step up to the helm of the company. Both Olivia and Deacon are quite unprepared for the strength of their attraction to each other but will their budding relationship withstand the secrets and betrayals from the past as well as the vindictive manipulations of people determined to destroy French Kiss?
Deacon and Olivia are very likable characters and even as a couple I loved them but the rest of the characters - the hunky Beaumonts, the inappropriate assistant, the nudist neighbors, strange juicer salesman and even the eccentric French designer - all made this such an entertaining story, something that Ms. Lane does so well. My favorite thing about this story is Olivia. I love that her creativity was her strength and she was not portrayed as some superwoman who could suddenly step into the role of running a company, but that she was aware of her shortcomings in some areas and was willing to step aside and let the right person lead the company.
I also loved that the focus was not on the flash and dazzle of the fashion industry and the fancy lifestyle but that it was all about family and healing the hurts from the past. The bond between the brothers and their easy relationship was so endearing. This is such a great start to the series and I can't wait for Nash's story.
Disclaimer: I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
The Unexpected Billionaires is an exciting new series from new to me author Katie Lane. The first book, A Billionaire Between the Sheets, is a fun read about three good-looking brothers, the possibility of instant wealth, and a woman that discovers she is able to love unconditionally while excelling in a new career.
Louisianian's Deacon, Nash, and Grayson Beaumont, are more than surprised to find out that they inherited their late uncle's almost bankrupt lingerie conglomerate, French Kiss. At first glance, the Beaumont brothers appear to be right out of Duck Dynasty, but they prove themselves to be so much more over a very short period of time. Deacon is a business guru and commands respect wherever he goes. Running French Kiss is a position he is more than capable of doing, however, someone is skimming money off the top, the new collection is ridiculous, and the love of his life keeps throwing him curve balls.
Designer and VP of Sales Olivia Harrington, is shocked to learn that her late stepfather did not will French Kiss to her. She has been a dedicated part of his lingerie empire since grade school, even though designing is her true talent, not running a company. She and Deacon come together after years of longing and sexual attraction. His alpha tendencies work well for them both in and out of the bedroom.
Olivia and Deacon are interesting, likable, and hot, but it is the secondary characters that steal the show. To begin with, Olivia's assistant Kelly is hilarious. Her sense of style borders on indecency, and her brain to mouth filter is practically nonexistent. Babette, the unconventional french designer that Olivia hires to save the company, has off the wall ideas, which includes a studded thong for a men's lingerie line. To top it all off are the Huckabees, Olivia's elderly and nosy neighbors. They are nudists and have no trouble bantering with anyone that comes around while they are enjoying the great outdoors. Last but not least is Jonathan the large bird, who purposely tortures Olivia on a daily basis by pooping on her outside rug.
I enjoyed this entertaining and quick paced novel. In between the the well-conceived emotional times, are pockets of jocularity that kept me singing a happy tune. Ms. Lane has a way with words and I can't wait to read more of her work. Each character has their own story and I liked the way the author gave each and everyone their own voice. As a result, I made a connection with all the characters. If you are looking for a contemporary romance with the perfect balance of sweetness and heat, an engaging plot, and a happily ever after that will leave a smile on your face, then this book is for you.
