The thrilling last installment of the Daughters of the Sea series is the culmination of a breathtaking saga that will steal your heart and enchant your soul.
As the Atlantean Games draw near, every Order will descend upon the magical island of Atlantis; resurrecting an ancient tradition and setting in motion a fate determined centuries earlier. In her relentless search for retribution, Selene uncovers the one vulnerability capable of destroying not only Stasia, but all fifty of the Nereids. Traitors will emerge and old rivals are reawakened as Stasia discovers the shocking end of her elusive prophecy.
With Fallon and Olivia still missing and an Army of Auras preparing for battle, Stasia and her Council must unlock the secrets of the Nereids and find a way to save their world before destiny intervenes. But like the Nereids themselves, even destiny is vulnerable to the sands of time.
I am a southern belle at heart with a crazy streak that desperately tries to escape at every opportunity. I love all things nostalgic, rustic, and quirky. I've been told I see the world through rose-colored glasses, but I prefer to think of them as kaleidoscope glasses - swirling and morphing reality into something I can digest (who hasn't pretended those pasty lima beans were really kiwi strawberry jelly beans?).
I am the author of the DAUGHTERS OF THE SEA series, which includes FORSAKEN, AWAKEN, CHOSEN, HEARKEN, PROVEN (2014).I love all books, but really enjoy writing young adult, paranormal romances. I've loved to write for as long as I can remember. My first published work was my poem RED in second grade (you guessed it - it was a poem about the color red - life altering, I know) that won me 5 gold stars and a spot in my elementary school's poetry book. That's when my addiction to the written word officially began. I was the only kid in fifth grade that actually enjoyed diagramming sentences. Go ahead and laugh - its okay.
When I'm not writing I'm making jewelry, painting, drinking sweet tea, watching the discovery channel, or going on random adventures in the mountains of North Carolina with my amazing husband.
Love the cover! Anyway Olivia that girl knows how to keep a book entertaining with her attitude, "I'm about done being a fairy godmother," I grumbled. "My collection of give-a-shits is running on empty." Then Finn I love that boy I read these books entirely to get my dose of that sexy beast, "I don't think I know everything !" His chest moved as he snickered. "I know for a fact I know everything." This is the last book in the series I liked it but I think my heart will forever love the first book more, meeting these characters and going on their.journey has been fun but I'm.glad they got the ending they deserved.
Omg!!!!! I'm crying. It's over. So, I've read this series around 15 times. Stasia finally meets her brother Achillies. Wow! Thetis, was one heck of a goddess. She had everything planned out to help her 2 children. I broke down in tears when Natasha finally decided it was time to take back her order. (Hectate) I knew she was more than meets the eye. Poor Finn!!!! Though I am saddened by the loss of Fallon, Willow, who we lost a while back and all those witches. It couldn't have been better. Stasia is so strong. So kind and has such a pure heart. From being a foster child, to thinking no one wanted or loved her. To being Anastasia, Future Tri Goddess, daughter of Thetis, sister to Achillies and so much more. The wife to Finn and the mother of 2 children. She finally saves the lady of the ocean. And she now is the Ocean!!! In the end, I finally broke down in tears. Stasia saved everyone. Yet, Finn lost her. At the ceremony, in that very moment when he broke down. My hesrt broke. Yet, the author surprised us. Stasia, wasn't dead. Oh no. She was buzzing with life and a renewed energy. Learning who Olivia is and making Achllies immortal and alive and well. He is now the Leader of the Tydes. I know this was a long review. But this series touched my heart and soul. I have fallen in love with these characters and every now and then I go back and spend time with Finn and Stasia. Thank you kristen day!!! These books were inspiring and just wonderful.

This series started off okay, but for me, it went downhill with the last couple of books. Once again the author had trouble keeping track of whose point of view she was writing, which was irritating, especially since multiple points of view in and if itself is irritating. The epilogue didn't make sense either because all other Primes had the same father in Charon, not the current Prime. I guess I should have stopped after the original trilogy, because the final two books did not live up to them.
I can't believe it's really over. Did Nadia never get what she deserved? I needed that closure! I'm so happy for Olivia and Sebastian. Their love story alnost trumped Stasia and Finns!! This story could go on forever.
I loved the way this book went. It was a believable end to the story that wasn't rushed, and answered most questions I had. Thank you to Kristen Day for sharing a wonderful piece of your mind with me!
That being said I did have some qualms. There were times when a characters name was used incorrectly, or they referred to themselves in the the person because the author got the POV wrong. It didn't hurt the story for me, but impacted me enough that I feel I have to tell you about it.

*************SPOILER********
Don't look I you don't want to know....
I also got really mad that the whole time the Nereids were losing their essence Stasia didn't just pull essence from the moon. It helped her when she didn't even know it could way back when Nadia was holding Finn captive, but now all of a sudden the moonlight does nothing for her??
Back to good things ******that are still spoilers******
I love that Sebastian and Olivia get a HEA
Also after Stasia died I wasn't really affected (part of me figured she would be back) but reading how devastating it was for Finn brought tears to my eyes. Ms. Day I will forever be searching for my own Finnegan Morrison! Again thank you!!!
The story in this series was completely different than the one written by Kathryn Lasky despite having the same series's title. I much prefer this one, the plot was thrilling with mysteries, there's so much going on here, the challenges they faced to fulfil their destiny, the strong friendship, the heartache, the sacrificed, it was so good.
This author is an amazing writer! I loved every book and couldn't wait for more. I wish this series hadn't of ended. Wow, is all I can say. I am so hooked on these characters. The writing was just enough romance to bring you heart stopping scenes but still left it clean enough to enjoy reading. The suspense was out of this world and I fell in love with all of the characters. I am so glad the last two books gave us different POV's as well. Get this series today!
Proven is the final book in this series. The author tied up everything very nicely. I was saddened at the loss of so many people, but I guess that is a realistic approach to what would happen if this were an actual event. I highly recommend this series. The author does a great job detailing each character. I kinda hope she makes a new series about a couple characters introduced at the end.
