Account of Venturi's 2 comebacks. Once from a 4 year slump, which culminated in his win of The U.S. Open in 1964. Within a few months, he was diagnosed with advanced carpal tunnel syndrome (then virtually unknown) which made it difficult for him to swing a club. After a successful operation and a lengthy rehabilitation, he played in the Ryder Cup and won again in 1966 at the Lucky International in San Francisco at Harding Park - his home town course. Illustrated with many photographs of Venturi and his famous friends, including Joe DiMaggio, Frank Sinatra, Sam Snead and Ben Hogan. Foreword by Byron Nelson.
