After courting a big business deal for many moons, Harvey finally has it in the bag, if he can just impress the traditionalist, morally-upstanding investors. Needing to shed his playboy image fast, he concocts a plan...
Alice is a struggling actress, without any credit to her name. She soon receives an unusual job offer; portray the elegant, sophisticated girlfriend of a famous businessman.
What Harvey hadn't considered is that Alice knows exactly who he is, and hates his guts; after she and her family's home was cruelly taken by his company, she wants revenge...
To her surprise, however Harvey isn't the greedy, contemptible man she expected; with burgeoning feelings of desire and affection towards her new boss and pretend boyfriend, can Alice go through with her plan for revenge?
This is a nice easy romance to read. The romance follows a predictable route and although the story is a bit far fetched the characters are well developed.
I loved reading (Bought And Paid) For: The Billionaire's Girlfriend (A Romance Novel), all about Harvey Pace a muti-billionaire who needs a girlfriend for a few months, and decides to pay for one Alice Brennan a starving Actress. Alice has just completed a play, and she's at the after party when a very distinguished elderly gentlemen approaches her with a possible job offer. She's intrigued and goes on the interview and meets Harvey! The author wrote a very interesting story, and the characters brought said story to life! Read this book because it will make you laugh, cry, sigh and shake your head! The book has many different twists and turns, so read it and find out what happens to Harvey & Alice!
Alice and Harvey, although business was holding them apart, clicked as a couple from the start. As alpha and bossy male as he was, Alice was able to match Harvey's behaviour in a way that set the scene for me. I was a little 'heart in my throat' wondering what would happen to them but Lara Hunter wove the story into a believable ending. I really enjoyed reading this book.
I absolutely loved this book. It has everything; love in several forms, hatred in its beautiful disguise, romance, fear, laughter & tears. It's all there, and the book has an end that doesn't require buying 2 more books to get to!
3 1/2 stars. This was a cute book. It had a lot of potential. The ending...yuck! I'd say this book was a 4.5-5 star book but the ending was just terrible. Why should he apologize??? He hired her to do a job, she (or her sister) screwed it up. Yet he apologized??? Seriously?!?!?
Really enjoyed reading this book. The characters were riveting and easy to relate to. The plot was different than a lot of similar stories. Hard to put down
Love the characters and story it just comes to life They jump off the pages Heartfelt romance felt real characters had real debt and substance behind them
I liked the book, but I'm disappointed that I can't find book2 in the Kindle store on Amazon. I would really like to continue with Harvey and Alice's story.
It was so refreshing to read a story without 20 pages of explicit sex scenes in place of good story but this story had to much fillet not enough tenderness for a Romance..There wasn't enough in this book to interest me. I will not buy the next part or parts to this book. I wish I had known it was a cliffhanger... I wouldn't have wasted my time. I hate cliffhangers.
Waste of time. One good things there were no clinical sex scenes that went on and on for twenty pages but also no tenderness or anything else that would make you fall in love with the characters or believe this is a Romance. Sorry there was not enough in this book to interest me in buying the next part.. I h ate cliffhangers
I have read hundreds of books; however there have only been a few to bring me to tears. You can absolutely count this book as one of them. The heartaches of each character flowed seamlessly from each page. The part that literally brought me to tears was Alice and Rose's final scene. These two sisters loved each other so much, but emotions and ethics came between them. However on baby sisters birthday, it didn't and nothing else mattered. Alice wasn't alone for at least a little while. I felt silly balling my eyes out when the characters were laughing; however I knew that inside the emotional toll made me believe that they had to laugh in order to keep from crying. Excellent job and now on to book 2.
A struggling actress and a billionaire who needs 'arm candy' to secure a deal. That's what this boils down to, but the story is handled well and the characters are more likeable than the usual fare. This does not feature page after page of sexual activity; which is a blessing. As a result you get a good, clean, honest to goodness, wholesome romance. A refreshing change. Well constructed, well edited and well worth reading.
The ending was clipped making the fact that two more books as a follow-up enticing, but I'm skeptical about paying about three times the amount of the first to get the second let alone the third in this series.
Suppose it will depend on my mood or reading selections to support such a spending frenzy...lol
I was slightly disappointed. The classification of erotic romance is all wrong for this novel. There is no sex. There is very little romance. I'm not going to read the follow up story on the off chance that the next book will be any better. Really a waste of my time.
Wasn't bad. Is a stand alone though there are two more in the series. I didn't care to pay to read two more extremely short "books" tho so skipped the next two. Book was fine but not great....not bad. Not much of a relationship developed. Wish he has spent more time with her instead of waiting to see her only on special events...
Harvey seemed very confused, he came across as insulting then all of a sudden he had feelings for Alice, which was quite annoying at times coz he came across as not liking her but other than that it was good but finished rather abruptly and leaving questions
The job offered to an aspiring actress was the ultimate job with benefits. She just didn't care for her employer. The story is great. I really enjoyed it. It got really interesting near the end and left me wanting more. I can't wait to read how Harvey handles the situation trying to move forward.
It was a very good clean novel. But something was sort of missing for me. I was looking out to see and hear more of Harvey, feeling & feedback towards Alice. I was kind of lost to how he felt there until the end. But in all, it was good.
A tame book. It was refreshing reading a romance without pages of graphic sexual content, but this 'romance' was so tame, it was almost sleep inducing. Alice is hired to play a role, and with her sister, plans a great revenge, changes her mind, and gets a happily ever after. Not believable.
He hires Alice to be his girlfriend but really just to be the girlfriend. I would have thought there would have been more to the romance. It w as good but not a book that kept me 100% interested al the time.
This is a new author to me, and I must say I quite enjoyed this book. A fair few twists and turns along the way, a few secrets too. All has to come out eventually though. Really look forward to reading more by this lady.
