Rumors about the abandoned amusement park run rampant. Ghosts. Savages. Demons.
But the truth is much worse. The Freaks who haunt its shadows are more frightening than any monster.
BLADE is feral, deranged, and fixated on breaking my sanity. NASH sees me in her dreams. I see her in my nightmares. CYRUS is their ringleader and unafraid to show me exactly how she earned that title.
She keeps her distance… But everything in the dark is hers to play with.
Five men took me here to kill me, but the Freaks spilled their blood instead. Now, I’m the prey between their teeth.
I want my freedom. They want a plaything. And a life-changing sum of money promises to satisfy both desires.
With Valemont under the trance of an enigmatic cult, only I can save myself. And the Freaks might help me do that — if I’m willing to play their game.
OFF THE RAILS is a dark, sapphic/lesbian, why choose/polyamorous, masked captor romance set in an abandoned amusement park. Please see the Content Note for a full TW’s list.

4.5⭐ The freaks have arrived! Just when I thought this author couldn't up the prior books, I was proven wrong.
Tess is a stripper. She routinely couch surfs while making ends meet. While at a party in the woods, she makes enemies of some drunken frat boys. They chase her to the abandoned theme park. She attempts to escape them only to end up in the clutches of the freaks that patrol the park looking for their next victim.
Cyrus, Nash, and Blade are no strangers to the dark side of society. This park is theirs and everyone & everything is fair game. All who enter become prey, some willingly others not.
I was sucked in to this world right from the chase. The adrenaline rush is constant throughout the book. The Valemont trio make multiple appearances. The freaks make no apologies for their past or present. Each willing to inflict their punishment on Tess.
Like any Kylie Cross book, there are multiple layers. Not everything is as it seems. Who's bringing in the drugs? Why is there a crazy prophet? How does Rubin play into this? What is the prophecy? I know the answers will come in the next few books but argh I need them now.
Spice, yeah it's even hotter here, not sure how they did that, but🥵🥵🔥🔥 damn. Those scenes will leave you scratching the your head and looking for a way to cool down😉.
Tropes and triggers: angst, bdsm, bet/dare, captor/captive, cliffhanger, multi pov, fierce FMCS, kn!fe play, open door spice, primal play, revenge plot, first time, toys, why choose
I was given an advanced copy and this is my honest review.
Have you ever read a book about something you used to fear and all of a sudden questioned yourself “oh wait, am I into this now”, well that’s what this book did to me!
I’ve said it before and will continue it to say it, but Kylie Cross never misses with their dark why choose romances and quickly became an insta buy author for me the second I read to the bone. Off the Rails is no different.
I mean who doesn’t want to be chased around an abandoned amusement park by slightly deranged masc killer clowns (they wouldn’t have much of a chase with me, I simply don’t run. But the thought is nice). And of course there’s always that one bullheaded idiot that makes the more femme fmcs life hell, and yet we fall in love with her each and every time.
The cliffhanger for the first instalment of Feverpoint freaks will have you reeling and possibly cursing at your e-reader, but it is so worth it.
If you haven’t read any of Kylie Cross’s work, then my question to you is, why the hell not? Go read them now!
It's really nice to see the other side of Feverpoint, though. I was really curious about it during the VV series and even remember mentally commenting "I wonder if they'll be next."
Apparently, they were in fact next.
The primal play aspect is really hot, and the very different way the three "Freaks" pursue Tess was really fantastic. I love seeing these gritty characters get attached to a soft, sweet girl at the drop of a hat.
I knew I will get hooked as soon as I start reading “Off The Rails”, since I’m obsessed with all and every book made by Kylie Cross, but hot damn! This one is on another level! From the moment I picked it up, I felt like the book kept me hostage. I couldn’t put it down!
I was intrigued about the abandoned amusement park run by creepily hot women in masks since it was first mentioned in “Valemont Violence Series”. Who wouldn’t be? It’s a perfect combination! I wanted to know more about the place and our morally questionable Freaks, and I was NOT disappointed!
Starting strong with Tess, and her perfectly suited to the story attitude that got her into a bit of a trouble the first chance she got. But she’s much more than that, and it only adds to her already amazing character.
And of course she runs into our three masked, freaky clowns — Blade, Nash, and Cyrus, who pose yet another threat to Tess, only this one is not as unwanted as the previous one.
I was positively surprised to see the trio for who they really are, and how much depth they all have. Their different personalities create a beautiful dynamic that Tess fits perfectly into. Each of them is unique in their own way that makes you feel much closer to the whole story. They don’t pretend to be perfect in any way. They know who they are deep down, and they embrace it, all the while still holding on to the big hearts underneath.
Also, the spice? UGHH, out of this world! You might need to check your surroundings before picking it up.
The whole book is unhinged in the best way possible. And as with all of the books from Kylie Cross, be prepared for the epic cliffhanger that will leave you WANTING more.
Absolutely recommend! And remember to check the triggers!

I’m sooo grateful for the ARC opportunity! This is my honest and voluntary review.
I definitely think I'll enjoy the sequel(s) to this a lot. Ultimately this lower rating comes from the fact that even though we don't learn why Cyrus hates Tess until near the end of the book, it's so obvious from context clues that Tess a) didn't do what they think she did, b) whatever they think she did isn't as egregious as they're making out – and she was only like 12 when it happened – and c) Cyrus' anger and vitriol is not proportional to whatever it was. So then when you do find out and all those assumptions are then substantiated, it just makes the book as a whole a little frustrating.
Least now going into the sequels, everything is out in the open and they can all move forward together.
I have been anxiously waiting for this book to drop since I made my preorder. It did not disappoint (they never do). Nash, Blade, and Cyrus, are freaks in the best sense of the word. I can’t wait to read the next book, and hopefully, get more of Nash🔥 Highly recommend if you love the other books!
There’s something ridiculously comforting about being back in Valemont, except this time Kylie Cross has taken that familiarity and thrown it into a completely different flavour of chaos.
Off the Rails hooked me almost immediately. The action starts quickly, Feverpoint is wonderfully atmospheric, and Tess walked onto the page with exactly the kind of attitude I love in an FMC. But her sass isn’t her whole personality — her attitude is her armour. Beneath it is someone vulnerable, constantly alert and so used to fighting for everything that even basic comfort and security feel unfamiliar.
Then there’s Feverpoint itself.
The eerie, dilapidated amusement park is so vividly written that I could see it all, but there’s far more hiding behind that exterior than first appears. Feverpoint becomes a living playground they control, and I loved the sense of camouflage running through the story. The park hides another world beneath its unsettling exterior, while Blade, Cyrus and Nash do something very similar behind their masks.
The three women are brilliantly distinct. Blade is chaotic, cheeky and bursting with energy, Nash initially seems calmer and softer, while Cyrus is harder and more controlled, with a fierce need for protection and security underneath it all. Even their quieter, everyday moments reveal new sides of them, and the contrast between normal daytime life and their nighttime Freak personas was one of my favourite parts of the book.
The spice gets 🔥🔥🔥🔥 from me. There’s plenty of it, and it absolutely smoulders off the page, but this is not a story relying on spice to carry it. Kylie makes every intimate dynamic feel specific to the character involved, so the scenes never blur together or feel interchangeable.
Underneath all that heat is a proper story full of history, mystery, complicated relationships, character growth, found family, suspense, prophecy, religious unease and some genuinely emotional moments.
The Fright Night scenes were a particular highlight. The tension builds beautifully from both sides of the chase, and some of those chapters had me completely wound tight waiting for the payoff. I also loved watching Tess change. Her survival instincts are always there, but gradually she begins to realise she can want things for herself, accept connection and stop carrying every old hurt purely as protection. That gave the book far more emotional weight than I expected when I first entered the freak show.
There are a few familiar Kylie Cross character dynamics here — the harder personality, the softer one, the chaotic one — and that meant I anticipated some elements. But honestly? It works. The characters, history, setting and new layers make Feverpoint feel completely its own.
Existing Kylie readers also get the extra satisfaction of seeing just how interconnected this world has become. You can absolutely enjoy Off the Rails on its own, but knowing Valemont and the wider universe added another layer of enjoyment for me.
And that ending?
Brutal.
The final stretch had me completely locked in, and I finished with actual tears in my eyes. If the intention was to make me desperate for book two, consider it a complete success because I need answers immediately.
A very easy 5 stars from me.
Perfect for readers who love sapphic why choose, morally grey women, dark romance, found family, high spice, primal play, dangerous games and characters with far more beneath their masks than first appears. 🤡🖤
ARC kindly received from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
A huge thank you to Kylie Cross for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of Off the Rails.
I have been waiting for this book ever since we first got a glimpse of the Freaks in the Valemont Violence series, and honestly? It was so worth the wait.
This book is pure chaos in the best possible way. It is dark, creepy, ridiculously hot, and constantly moving. There was barely a moment to breathe between the secrets, danger, twists and everything else unfolding around these women, and my adrenaline was definitely working overtime.
And then we have the Freaks themselves.
Blade is an absolute burst of energy. Chaotic, possessive, cheeky and endlessly entertaining. She brings so much personality to every scene and was genuinely such a refreshing character to read.
Nash is softer and calmer on the surface, but there is so much intensity underneath. The passion and possessiveness are absolutely still there, just expressed in a completely different way.
Cyrus took me a little longer to warm to. She is guarded, cold and downright mean at times, but once you understand how much of her is driven by the need for 'retribution', she becomes much more interesting.
And Tess? Sassy, vulnerable and carrying wounds from her past, but also determined to take control of her life and make something different for herself. I really loved that combination of softness and strength in her.
The chemistry between all of them is intense, and the spice is STEAMY. There is plenty of it, but what I really appreciated is that the story never depends on the spice to keep you interested.
There is a proper plot underneath all that heat. History, mystery, complicated relationships, found family, character growth, suspense, prophecy, religious unease, and some genuinely emotional moments all get woven through the chaos.
And then there is Feverpoint itself.
The abandoned amusement park has such an eerie, unsettling atmosphere, and the descriptions made it incredibly easy to picture. But the more you learn about it, the more you realise there is far more hiding beneath the surface. I loved the way the Freaks use the park almost like an extension of themselves, turning something decaying and forgotten into a place they completely understand and control.
Overall, this was dark, spooky, sexy, emotional and completely chaotic. Exactly the kind of ride I hoped these characters would give us.
I was lucky enough to be an ARC reader and now I'm feening for more. Off the Rails completely sucked me in. The abandoned amusement park setting was creepy, atmospheric, and just the right amount of unhinged, and the Freaks? I was OBSESSED. Every single one brought something completely different to the story, and somehow the combination of them all worked ridiculously well. What I really enjoyed was that they didn’t feel interchangeable. Each Freak has their own personality, their own way of interacting with Tess, and their own kind of danger. There’s a really interesting push and pull between attraction, fear, distrust, and curiosity, and I loved watching those dynamics develop.
Tess is thrown into an absolutely insane situation. Five men chase her into the amusement park intending to kill her, only for the Freaks to intervene, and suddenly she’s caught between wanting to escape and realizing that the people who saved her might be just as dangerous in their own way. The Freaks are absolutely FERAL, and I was here for every second of it. Blade quickly became my favorite. She's completely unhinged and has this terrifying intensity that made every interaction with her feel unpredictable. Cyrus has that commanding, dangerous presence where you immediately understand why she’s the one calling the shots. Nash seems sweet so far but I think her freakier side will be revealed more in the second book, which I can't wait for.
I especially loved the whole mystery surrounding the park, the Freaks, and Valemont. There’s clearly so much more going on beneath the surface, and I’m already dying to see where this story goes next. The atmosphere really made the book for me. It felt claustrophobic, dangerous, and strangely addictive. And can we talk about the fact that this is only Book 1?! Excuse me. I need answers. I need more Freaks. I need to know what happens next.
If you’re looking for a dark, spicy, sapphic why choose with masked characters, an eerie abandoned amusement park, plenty of danger, and feral love interests, Off the Rails is your book.
Apparently Kylie Cross has decided that regular sapphic romance isn't chaotic enough anymore, so naturally she gave us an abandoned amusement park full of morally questionable women in masks.
And I ate it up.
Off the Rails grabbed me almost immediately. Feverpoint is creepy, run-down and absolutely not somewhere any reasonable person should want to spend time, which obviously means I wanted to know everything about it.
Then there's Tess.
I loved watching her get pulled deeper into this completely insane world and into the orbit of Blade, Cyrus and Nash. All three women have such different personalities that the dynamic never feels like you're reading three versions of the same character.
What surprised me most was how much heart there is underneath all the madness. Tess isn't just navigating attraction and three ridiculously dangerous women. There's this underlying story about trust, vulnerability, survival and learning that maybe wanting something for yourself isn't the same thing as being selfish.
And listen...
The spice. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kylie Cross apparently woke up and chose violence because some of these scenes required a Kindle-down, stare-at-the-wall, reconsider-my-life-choices moment.
But that's exactly why her books work for me. They're filthy. They're funny. They're completely unhinged. And then somewhere between all the chaos she sneaks in enough tenderness and emotion to make you actually give a damn about everyone.
Seeing familiar faces from the Kylie Cross universe was just the cherry on top for this fangirl.
And THAT ENDING?!
Absolutely not, Kylie.
You don't get to leave me there and expect me to behave like a reasonable adult until book two comes out.
I need answers.
I need more Tess.
I need more Blade, Cyrus and Nash.
And apparently I need to add "abandoned amusement park full of masked lesbians" to the increasingly concerning list of things books have taught me about myself.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Five completely off-the-rails, feral sapphic stars.
I don't even know where to start. Since KQ, Kylie's world has become a comforting and familiar space, so I'm always eager to read something by her, but in this case, it couldn't have come at a better time. My partner has been hospitalized for 5 days and, for me, having accompanied her day and night during those 5 days, being able to have my little bit of disconnection and return home with Off The Rails is what has kept me sane.
About the book itself: I found the story entertaining and mysterious. I wasn't bored at any point and, in fact, I think it's the book that managed to hook me the most from minute 0.
My favorite character is Blade, but I'm not objective. I have a certain tendency to fall in love with the chaotic ADHD girls who appear in my life, what can I do?
Nash is, as in all the threesomes so far, the perfect point of balance, care, and chivalry.
Cyrus is fucking chaos. That's it, sometimes I feel like she enjoys being angry. Anyway, I am: angry.
I love Tess, I think we've been getting protagonists with more and more personality (if that was even possible), with more strength and more badassery.
I was a little afraid that the book would lean towards horror because I'm a scaredy-cat buuuut not at all, it was just the right amount to have me kicking and screaming like a kid.
Once again, Kylie has created a fantastic work, I expected nothing less. If she keeps setting the expectations this high, I don't know where we'll end up.
I'm climbing the walls waiting to read book 2. Until now, we hadn't had a protagonist giving such a massive cold shoulder to the trio of hot women. You go, Tess, don't let your panties-dropping tendencies show, dignity above all! Make them beg and work for it!
Anyway, another 10/10, I just can't take it anymore. Well then, I'm going to reread until the next one.
This review is based on the ARC copy, I was lucky enough to receive! This review is as Spoiler free as possible , as it is only was released today! This is my second ARC review for Kylie Cross and I couldn't be more excited and honoured to get another opportunity! 5✨️ 4🌶 425 pages Starting really strong out the gates we meet Tess who is being chased into Feverpoint Amusement Park. If you've read the Valemont Violence Series already - you'll be familiar with the setting and who our main characters will be! 🤡!! Tess is being persued by a group of Men following an altercation at a party only to run into three Masked Clowns - enter Blade, Cyrus and Nash! Now Tess is faced with a different challenge - the Hunt is on! Following a 3 person POV , I loved watching these characters unfold from their clown masked fronts, revealing the people underneath . We delve into thier history which sprinkled with religious trauma, found family and secret pasts. All while keeping the famously hot spice known from KC in the scheduled Fright Nights! Off The Rails had me hooked right from the beginning- read it in just over a day - and that was with a full work day in between 😅 primal play is always a favourite for me and the hunt with POVs of both hunter and prey, ticked all of those boxes for me - and a few more to boot!! Please check those trigger warnings ⚠️ as the spice is spicing and its a much darker read than previous series - and I am definitely all for it! If your not a fan of clowns - I don't think its too clown - heavy , just enough to keep it dark, creepy and unhinged- just the way we like it!! As with all Kylie Cross books it leaves you on an epic cliffhanger and I cannot wait to see what the next instalment brings ! #ARCReview #kyliecrossauthor #darkromance #sapphicromance #BookTok @kyliecrossauthor
ARC REVIEW RATING 5 STARS⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ God damn when Kylie releases a book she does it with most feral, sexy, freak characters you can imagine. This was such a fun and freaky read, I could NOT put it down. Each of the characters thrive when they are with the others and you can see that each of their personalities clicks together like puzzle pieces. The ending had me looking insane, I neeeeed the next book now!!
TROPES: Why Choose (F/F/F/F) Lost and Found Primal Play Abandoned Theme Park Masked Mascs Found Family
Tess - when Tess stumbles into the freaks park I knew her character was going to be different than any of the other fems in the kylieverse. She was whiling to play the game and that's the sexiest thing about her. She saw an opportunity to better her life and she fucking took it. She's resilient and a total badass. I love her💋❤️🔥
Blade - I absolutely loved how unapologetic her character is and that she just lets her freak flag fly. Fuck she was terrifying but SO SEXY! How she acts with Tess had me swooning through the screen. And when she tied my girl up, I have never wanted to be a character in a book more than that moment. I cannot wait to see what other tricks she has up her sleeves in the next book.🪢🪓
Nash - I need Nash is the most insane way. Fuck, her character is brilliant, the perfect mix of sane and insane. I love how kind and caring she is. AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE DREW AGE PROGRESSIONS OF TESS FOR ALMOST 15 YEARS!?! swoon city i tell ya.😮💨🫠
Cyrus - I truly need more of her to form a solid opinion. My girl loves the whole "only I can be mean and hostile towards you but I'd kill anyone who comes close to you" shtick. Which I respect. But there's a lot that we have still yet to learn about her past and what led us here so I cant wait to see how she grows after the ending of book 1.🗡️🖤
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this book!!! I can not wait to see where this goes. Kylie Cross has done it again!! I never knew I liked Why Choose until I fell across the first trilogy.
This book is darker, more twisted, deliciously chaotic and packed with characters you probably shouldn't become attached to, but we do anyway.
The Freaks completely stole the show for me. Blade was easily my favourite. She’s feral, unhinged and a massive ball of energy. Cyrus… Do I have to say anymore?, definitely giving Dom and Zander vibes. Nash was sweet, but I just know that the next book is going to unleash her. All three brought something different to the story, and together they created a dynamic that was intense, unpredictable and seriously addictive.
I loved the abandoned amusement park setting. It made me feel claustrophobic in the best way. The tension and danger was constantly building with every interaction between the Freaks and Tess. The chemistry was spicyyyyy. The games were deliciously dark and the spice absolutely delivered 🌶️
I also loved the cameos, those appearances made the world that Kylie Cross has created feel connected without distracting it from the main story.
However, I do have one demand: please give more of Zander!!! I am waiting patiently, but not quietly 😂
A completely addictive five-star read that I flew through. If you enjoy dark sapphic romance, morally grey women, dangerous games and characters who are completely obsessed with their toy, I highly recommend this one.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review, and I absolutely loved it! It had me hooked from the very beginning, and I was immediately ready to keep reading and get to know these characters more.
We have Blade, Nash, and Cyrus, along with our femme Tess. I have to say, Blade is probably my favorite, but honestly, I love all of the mascs! Nash has that quiet, calming energy that I really enjoyed, while Cyrus is an absolute force to be reckoned with. 😂
I also really enjoyed seeing characters from the previous series make appearances. I love when interconnected series give us little glimpses of familiar characters, and those moments always make me happy!!!
The spice factor for me was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. The intimate scenes were well written and really enjoyable! Would I have liked a little more? Maybe—but that's just me being needy. 😂 Would I have liked some masc x masc action? Yes. Again, that's me being needy LOL.
The pacing was good, and I really appreciated getting more POV switches than in the previous series!!! Being able to see more of the characters' thoughts and feelings gave me a better glimpse into who they are and made me even more invested in them.
Overall, I'd give this 4.8/5 stars, which I'm rounding up to 5. I would absolutely recommend this book, and I am already ready for the next one!
Now excuse me while I patiently (not patiently) wait for more. 😂
I have never been a fan of clowns. They always came off as creepy and a bit gross, tbh. But I had never considered homicidal feral lesbian clowns before. The Feverpoint Freaks have changed my mind.
This dark sapphic why choose (absolutely one of the best specific genre subsets in sapphic fiction, especially right now) absolutely does not disappoint! You've got 3 very different, but complimentary masc Freaks who control an abandoned theme park and use it to hunt their captive femme in a contest not only against her, but against each other. You have a connected storyline that can be read separately from other KC books if this is your intro to Valemont, or calls back to characters from previous books if you're familiar with their 2 previous trilogies. And you have a defiant protagonist in Tess who is determined to survive this sadistic game no matter what so that she can get out of this with a life on the other side worth living.
Nash is absolutely my girl! The artist who is also the caretaker, cooking meals and being the most sane (if you can call any of the Freaks sane, lol). Blade is just fully deranged, but so fucking relatable as a girl with ADHD, just bouncing off the walls all the time. And Cyrus, the one in charge, the broody, angry one who plays everything close to the vest, and has nothing but vengeance on her mind.
If you love feral lesbians, lots of feminine rage, captor/captive dynamics, and some great spice along the way, get Off the Rails now!💚🖤💚
(I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.)
Wow, what an amazing start to KC’s newest series. Off The Rails is dark, creepy, unhinged and of course incredibly hot.
We meet Tess who has been chased into Feverpoint abandoned amusement park by a group of men with less than honourable intentions, only to find herself in the middle of a hunt of a different kind with our 3 masked clowns; Blade, Nash and Cyrus. Now, I’m not usually a fan of clowns so I was a bit concerned about this before I read OTR, but KC has written each of them so well with just the right blend of fear and humanity that I found myself falling in love with each of them (although I think Nash might be my favourite…….don’t tell Blade 🤫).
I love the history and the dynamic between all the MCs and the fright night hunts and spicy scenes were 🔥🔥🔥🔥 there was definitely some creative use of certain objects in some of these 🥵
It also made my heart happy to see Dom, Keira, Leo and Spence pop up again if only briefly.
Oh and the ending…..damn! now we have to wait to find out what happens, though I have no doubt the wait will be worth it.
So, as usual with KC, check the trigger warnings, but seriously run to read this book, you won’t regret it.
Get in, freaks, we’re going to the abandoned amusement park.
I was excited for Kylie Cross’s third series but wow Off The Rails blew me away! Yes, there are feral lesbians, clown masks, and weapons, but also I think all four of our MCs have the biggest hearts yet. They’re the scrappiest bunch we’ve seen, because they’ve had to be, and seeing the way they’ve made a family and home out of abandonment and destruction is actually quite beautiful.
I LOVE Tess. The freedom she feels while dancing, the resilience, the determination, the fierceness.
I discovered I’m a Nash girlie. I love a softie with chest tape 😩🥵 but I’m also going to be protective as hell about sweet & goofy Blade, and I suspect Cyrus’s grumpy ass will completely win us over very soon.
THE ENDING. The ending, the ending, the brilliant ending. A much different type of cliff-hanger than I was anticipating and it’s got me tangled in my feels!
Oh and did I mention it’s hot as hell and probably only going to get hotter? Ropes, axes, and molding supplies found in an art studio all play important roles 🤔
What a thrilling ride (pun intended) and I’m so ready for book 2 which we get just in time for Halloween 🙌🏼
first, thanks for letting me be an arc reader again! secondly, omg?!! i think i’m in LOVE with the series with just being one book in😫 HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO WAIT FOR THE 2ND TO BE RELEASED this is the type of freaky stuff i was waiting for and you completely DELIVERED its like you collected my thoughts and put them to life. this is the freaky ive been looking for 😜 “how long do they expect me to stay here?” well little do you know tess… you might find you enjoy it🤫🤭 every time i read more of Kylie Cross books, the more it feels so real. it’s like a day of my life but twisted and i’m completely here for it. i can see Blade is my favorite character so far. blade is just so feral and deranged yet so sweet oh nash, this “nice guy” act is well… an act, and i can just feel in my bones she’s freakier than what lead on and i can’t wait to find out and of course, cyrus, a brute to everyone but her loved ones, i still got love for her even when she’s being stubborn be ready for the intensity of their freaky nature! 10/10 recommend, per usual, KC never disappoints! ⭐️5 🌶️4
Come one, come all, and witness a dark depraved carnival of wicked delights! This book arrived at a fortuitous and fateful time for me, as I’ve recently developed a “thing” for clowns, especially creepy clowns. Murderous lesbian clowns? Ok, yes please. As soon as I heard this book was coming I couldn’t wait. There are a plethora of content warnings so please take care of yourself when reading. Or if you’re like me (and Blade) you collect trigger warnings like trinkets. Aww, our sweet little Trinket, aka Tess, didn’t know what she was getting herself into when she stumbled into Feverpoint, the abandoned Valemont amusement park. But she soon became witness to murder and was new prey for our Feverpoint Freaks. I loved the primal play and each character (Blade, Cyrus, and Nash) had their own methods for enacting the chase. We realize the clowns can actually be quite lovable when they aren’t on a murderous spree. Just make sure you aren’t on the wrong end of Blade’s axe. But being on the right end? Freaky. And hot! Besides a dark carnival theme we also get mysterious cult activity that I’m sure will be explored more in the next book. The ending was off the rails and I need more now.
Off the Rails follows Tess as she gets pulled into the world of the Feverpoint Freaks, a trio of women who wear clown masks with unique talents, complicated histories, and a secret connection to her. When drugs start making their way into town, and clearly aren’t coming from the Freaks, they must uncover who’s behind it before things become even more dangerous.
I don’t know how it’s possible, but Kylie Cross’ work just keeps getting better. I LOVED this book! I’ve been loving the Feverpoint Freaks, and I was especially intrigued by their secret connection to Tess and how it continues to unfold.
I also loved seeing each character’s unique talents explored throughout the story. Blade’s ability to fix pretty much anything was especially interesting to me!
And of course, there was SO much spice in this one 🔥, but I loved that it came alongside a bigger plot. The mystery of who was bringing drugs into town as well as the religious unease kept me invested, especially since it wasn’t our Freaks.
And that ending??? SO GOOD. I need the sequel immediately because I cannot leave things there!!!
Off the Rails was off the chain! It was fun, original, thrilling, and oh so freaky. Tess is such a badass even when in the midst of her biggest life struggles. Blade brings all of the golden retriever and feral energy. Nash brings the heat with a large dose of yesrning on the side. Cyrus brings the alphahole and brooding energy. All together? You've got a cocktail made of chaos, action, and tension that it quickly barreling toward an explosive passion.
I had the literal best time reading this book. It was so unlike anything I've read before, and it brought us back to Valemont, but the run-down, dark version of it. The subplot of trafficking drugs really adds a whole other level of complexity to the story, and I am so very interested to see how that connects with the growing cult.
There were several moments throughout the book where I needed to cool off because damn were the pages scorching 🥵 the chemistry between Tess and her masked macs is intense, I am excited to see where that leads up next.
A fantastic start to a new trilogy! I can't wait to see what comes next!
Okay so I haven't read the Valemont Violence books since this was my first book I've read by Kylie Cross, and I assume a lot of things would make more sense if I'd read that first (only background stuff, it sort of made sense by the end but reading them probably would've given context) so read those if you haven't before this. But anyway, this book was so good, it got me so PISSED OFF about the conflict because the moment I heard the main conflict, I already knew for a fact it was gonna be a misunderstanding, but I like that, I like when books really make me invested enough to even get so pissed off. But anyway, yeah, it was just really good. 5/5 stars, it was absolutely everything I was looking for and I enjoyed it a lot.
I almost wish I had waited to read this because I NEED to know what happens next. Like WHEN will this next book come out because I'm so invested AHHH, I can't wait.
Edit: I just searched and apparently it came out between the time I started the book and finished it. LMAO well perfect timing! I'm sure it'll be just as great, and I'm excited to see what happens next!
Holy shit. Off the Rails was nasty, delicious, dark, depraved, and completely unhinged and I loved every second of it. This is the first book in Kylie Cross’s newest dark romance series about killer clowns, and it’s FFFF. Tess is a stripper who stumbles into a rundown amusement park and gets offered the deal of a lifetime: $20,000 to play one seriously fucked up game of hide-and-seek. What could possibly go wrong?! Apparently EVERYTHING. Blade, Nash, and Cyrus absolutely stole the show for me. I loved all three of them so much, and the dynamic between them and Tess was filthy, chaotic, and so much fun. But underneath all of the depravity, there’s also this much darker story slowly unraveling about the religious group home they all grew up in and the secrets connecting them. Kylie Cross really said killer clowns, trauma, sapphic chaos, and absolute depravity, and I said YES PLEASE. The secrets are only just starting to spill out, and I already know this series is going to be completely fucking wild. I NEED BOOK TWO.
Thank you for this arc in exchange for an honest review. Kylie Cross never fails to suck me in on the first page. This book has it all! Why choose with masked mascs. Feral lesbians! Primal Play! Feminine rage! Killer clowns! Religious trauma. Piercing and tattoos. Abandoned theme park. And a found family that will kill for each other. Oh! And the spice!!
The Feverpoint Freaks are unhinged feral weapon wielding lesbians who are unapologetically themselves. When Tess stumbled into Feverpoint, the last thing she expected was Blade, Nash, and Cyrus hiding behind their clown masks holding axes, a mallet and machete. The last thing these feral clowns expected was Tess… two of them fall for her quickly, the other well she’s feeling something completely different.
Read the triggers before stumbling into this abandoned amusement park because once you enter you won’t want to leave.
Received this fantastic read as an ARC and as per all of this authors books it was AMAZING. Kylie Cross is an extremely talented author and has a way of gripping you and pulling you into their stories, the books are impossible to put down.
The plot is intense, expect religious trauma, primal play, feminine rage, secret pasts, why choose FFFF and hot tattooed and pierced feral lesbians.
Tess stumbles into killer clown territory and meets ‘the freaks’. The ladies in this book are unhinged, masked mascs hunting their ‘prey’ playing a twisted game in an abandoned theme park, it’s hot and I love it. Each FMC has their own twisted personality and I loved our introduction to each of them. I instantly fell inlove with Blade and look forward to getting to know Nash and Cyrus in the next books.
A brilliant spicy, sapphic, primal read.
The books ends on a cliffhanger and I am so excited to read book 2.
Im so glad I was introduced to Kylie Cross' books, they just get better and better with every one I read.
I love the relationship dynamics between the MCs, how Blade and Nash are so confident in themselves and who they are, you find yourself loving each and every one of them in so many different ways. The fun starts much quicker in this book which I loved, it had me gripped even earlier than usual. Again, I couldn't put it down and found myself living and breathing every minute of the day with my nose in my Kindle trying to read quicker 😂
I absolutely loved some well known characters from KC's previous books making an appearance, too.
Now im reeling from the ending with absolutely zero answers, no closure, and the need to chase the high of reading more KC books. Can you please release the next one now?! I. Am. Obsessed.
I got to read this book as an ARC and this is my honest review. I really loved this book! I was excited to meet the freaks ever since they got introduced in the last series and they didn't disappoint. There's great spice and character dynamics. The only thing I'll say, and it's not really a negative because I love all the characters, but across the three series I have noticed that all 4 characters fall into the same categories: the brat, the thoughtful level headed one, the goofy fun one, and the grumpy bully. Obviously that's generalizing a bit, and each character has their own back stories and nuances that make them unique. I'm looking forward to hopefully getting more of Blade's back story in the rest of this series. I can't wait to see what's in store for Tess and the freaks in book 2!
This one had me hooked immediately but I’m not even surprised because I devour anything Kylie Cross writes. Of course I’m already obsessed with Feverpoint and I love how everything is always described in such detail. I feel like I can actually see the creepy, disheveled amusement park so perfectly when I’m reading.
I already love all the characters. Tess is sweet but definitely sassy, Blade is chaotic and full of energy, Nash is more calm and collected, while Cyrus is hard and more serious.
The spice? The spice is hotttt🔥🌶️. It’s always perfectly placed and never too much. It always just flows seamlessly into the storyline.
There’s mystery, chaos, suspense and so much more. I cannot wait to see what the next book has in store because that ending?? It’ll have you desperate for book 2.. 🫠.
