Iyana Smith never expected to meet a man like Commander Thayne Austin—let alone get pregnant with his baby. One night of passion together should never have had consequences, but it did. Not wanting serious ties to a career military man, she decides to keep her pregnancy a secret. Unfortunately, things don’t go as she plans, and when Thayne finds out, he proposes marriage. Iyana turns him down flat. Duty was not enough to build a marriage on, and Iyana refuses to be any man's ball and chain. Yet, how can she deny her baby a father? And how much longer can she refute her strong attraction to the man who threatens to penetrate the wall of defense she’s built around her heart? For one wonderful night, Navy SEAL Thayne Austin allowed his quest for passion to overrule his typical stalwart rationale. Then he has to leave to attend a required training. Returning four months later, he’s surprised to find Iyana pregnant with his child. Even though marriage and children aren’t in his immediate plans, no way is he going to allow his child to grow up without a father.
I really enjoyed this book. The only complaint was that Iyana kept making statements and judgements based off of her feelings and never asked Thayne, she never even gave him a chance to be different and then he was, still tried to hold onto her way....but it was realistic because a lot of women are like that.
I have really enjoyed binging on this series. It's so enjoyable with every page I have turn. The characters are captivating with sizzling hot passion. It's so believable and heartwarming it makes me so excited to read the next book in this series. If you want to enjoy a amazing military romance then this is a awesome story to read.
I love these books, such happiness and coming together in love, and baby makes three. I know real life is normally not so easy or happily ever after, especially with military deployments to get used to. I’m a dreamer and always look to the bright side of things.
Thayne and Iyana have a one night stand that produces a pregnancy. While they both agreed it would only be one night, they both had feelings for each other. His job in the military took him away from her and she and her fears kept her from calling him. This was a great feel good story. My only problem was that again this soldier was ready to just accept her claim that the baby was his. They had been apart for more than two months and he didn't even question the circumstances. That just isn't realistic. Again, I did enjoy the story and I do recommend it to all.
Loved Thane -- and Iyana too once I understood the origin of her initially irritating reluctance to be with Thane. Theirs was a sweet, simple love story without a lot of drama (of the entertaining or the frustrating variety). Good addition to the series. I would say, however, that some of the typos/lack of editing issues were a little distracting.
