Great vibes, incredible humor! I love this book so much! I laughed and cackled so hard! If you want a fun good time, this is the book you need to read!

This was such a fun book with great romance and amazing spice!
Mostly due to one MMC, Fox/Silas, who has the best commentary, inner monologue (IYKYK), knows how to treat her woman, feral possessive, obsessive and just the right kind of violent. And he wants a piglet to dress up. What's not to love?

Charlotte (a beta) has a really bad week, and ends up getting kidnapped by her father's enemy Den. Which doesn't go like a normal kidnapping would. No cell, no dungeon, no lack of food or entertainment. In fact she gets all the clothes she'd like, food, watches trashy TV with them, and in general feel like she is not a prisoner. She knows she is though and doesn't forget. Pushes back and gives them sass. She just, gets a little confused about these 4 hot men who seem to want to get close to her while also keeps her captive. A girl has needs you know!

The 4 men in question (all alphas in a pack) have their different ways of getting to know her. Only one of them rejects why he even cares to know her wants and needs, while the rest where lost in her the second they saw her. Obsessed, possessive, lost. It's delicious, hilarious and makes for some good tension. There are no boundaries, and I mean none, but it is not a dark romance, it's dark-ish.

It's been a while since I've laughed so much during a book about kidnapping with dark themes as well, and a sizzling romance and attraction building. The spice is later in the book, and it is plentiful, explicit and delicious! It has everything you would expect from an omegaverse!
The overall plot, besides the sexual innuendo and banter, is good and lays out the state of this omegaverse nicely. There are problems with the Dens, with omegas getting kidnapped and trafficked. And with power grabbing. This is a standalone but with a series coming so this sets the foundation well for what's to come.

I was so excited to receive this ARC—thank you so much to Ell Youngish and her team! This book did not disappoint. I consumed it!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 #VerySpicy
This story follows Charlotte, a beta that lives in a safe haven town. However, one event changes all that. Now, Charlotte is left vulnerable and kidnapped by four alphas - Wolf, Bear, Fox, and Tiger. These four alphas are from the Den of Cruelty. These four alphas have denied all other bonds, but now are all drawn to Charlotte- the daughter of their enemy.
I love a good dark romance. The easiest way for me to explain this book is spicy alphas with a morally gray compass. I enjoyed reading about the different alphas and seeing how they adapt to Charlotte. I will say, reading the rules at the beginning of each chapter was fun. I went back and reread them all after finishing the book! #DenRules
🐺Wolf is the Prime Alpha and is willing to do anything to keep his den safe. Although he does many questionable things, as you read on you see why he made the choices he made. He is the stoic of the group.
🦊Fox, oh my Fox. You are such a fun time. He is like the gold retriever that is always the ray of sunshine. He is so loyal and I enjoyed his character a lot! I found myself laughing out loud whenever I was reading his sections and some of his ideas.
🐻Bear is the “nerdy” professor type. He wears glasses…enough said. He lets Charlotte set the pace.
🐯Tiger… oh my sweet sweet Tiger. He is the den-less mercenary. He has such a backstory that had me feeling for him so much. I wanted to constantly give him a hug, but be warned he is not gentle. He fights, tracks, and kills anything that he is told too, especially if it brings dangers to those he cares about.
And then there is our FMC Charlotte. She is a fighter. I loved her at the beginning, when we first met her. I will not give away any details. But… that weapon of choice- girl you get it! She goes through so much during this book and I love how she has a “found family” at the end.
My one note is that some of the events felt like they happened too fast or there was no repercussion for it - which it felt like there should have been. I do not want to give away anything but I will say Raquelle and Addy. If you know…you know.
I am very excited for the next book - Den of Malice. I will say that Ell Youngish has set this next story up amazingly with the events in the last 20% of Den of Cruelty. I will be recommending this book to my dark romance girlies! #Knots #Alphas #Spicy

3.25 ⭐ Thanks to the author for the Advanced Copy of this book!
Den of Cruelty was a spicy fun time, and its storytelling style reminded me of Lights Out by Navessa Allen. It has all your favorite omegaverse tropes, a cast of major hotties, and an interesting plot about changing pack politics (especially how omegas are treated within this traditionally patriarchal, misogynistic culture) that are both the catalyst and main source of conflict for this Why Choose romance. The humor is irreverent and, at times, outrageous, and the FMC is a quirky, lovable book girl with a lot of courage who is easy to root for.
While aspects of the writing style just weren't for me (in the same way as Light's Out) and I wish it had done just a bit more to question patriarchy (since that is part of the premise), I appreciated the mix of political intrigue and steamy romantic tension with 4 very different MMCs. If that's up your alley, I think you will really love this! I'm interested in how this book sets up the second book in this series. You'll definitely want to read them in order.
For maximum enjoyment, definitely make this one a buddy read so you can share your favorite unhinged quotes back and forth.

So I love a good Omegaverse and well let’s just give this 3 generous stars for vibes babes. Did I eat this up and read more than half in one sitting? Yep sure did. Was it actually good? That’s none of my business.
If you like your OV with shoot em ups and a side of ridiculousness then you might like this one. It gives a strange mix of mafia/motorcycle club/gang vibes. Lots of gun waving and d!ck swinging.
Charlotte was a funny and yet frustrating character. Her snark was top tier but man was she naive. The book nerd references were cute tho. I would have liked even a little bit more character development or something with the guys. None of them really had enough book time dedicated to them to make much of their relationships believable.
Things kinda devolved quickly and the ending felt so rushed. I have no clue who most of these additional characters were. It was very “oh I have more books coming I should probably tease those characters!”
The premise had great promise. The execution was…well….VIBES GUYS. Let’s just remember the vibes.

When I saw non shifter omegaverse, why choose, mafia vibes I was like SIGN ME UP!
This world of Den's (packs) was a really fun way to enter the world of (future) interconnected standalones. We get to focus in on the Den of Cruelty where everything is wrapped up by the end of this book.
I am absolutely obsessed with the MMCs, the broody one, the mute one, the golden retriever and the sexy professor vibes.
The banter and humor was so funny and made this book very bingeable.
For pacing, I wish we could've had more time at the end to soak it all in once their relationships were more established. (That's my fav part!!)
Overall I had a blast and would recommend if you like:
- why choose (MFMMM)
- omegaverse (heat, knots and all)
- dark romance (banter, dark humor)
- spice in second half
- fated mates
- touch her and d!e

Excuse me!! Obsessed is an understatement. I loved this. Standalone why choose (omegaverse) is so underrated. The characters are amazing and the connections they build are everything you’d want from a why choose.

Ell did a fantastic job creating an omegaverse that feels mafia coded, dark, but incredibly funny. I loved all the characters she created, but Fox specifically took the cake, he is fu-nny. His inner dialogue is the best. This is a quick read where every chapter you will feel the emotions, the action, the anxiety, the chase. Bravo, Ell!

This book had be laughing out loud and kicking my feet. If you like cheeky humor and puns, you'll enjoy the unseriousness of these characters inner monologues. This is a non shifter Omegaverse. If you're new to omegaverse, this is a great starter. It explains all the dynamics and details pretty well and is easy to understand.
The story was an absolute ride. You have a small town separated from all the dens where nobody leaves or enters. Dens seperate all the different regions and whos in charge in a very mafia style way. The characters personalities really play well off each other. The banter was absolutely the best here. I highly recommend grabbing a silly friend, and buddy reading this book together. It's even more fun.

For the record, I adore Ell Youngish and her previous novel Rook of Ruin is still one of my fave reads from the last year. I was so honored and sooooo beyond excited to receive an arc of Den of Cruelty knowing her sense of humor and her ability to wriiiiiiiiite.
This book was an omegaverse chaos ride from start to finish. If you are unfamiliar with OV, Den does a really good job of introducing you to the world.
Charlotte is a both sassy and real-world naive Beta being raised in a disturbingly curated life in a safe haven away from Alphas. One mistake, and let's be honest she didn't make a mistake there's something wrong with this town, and Charlotte is thrust out into a world she's never been exposed to, ending up in the clutches of four very violent Alphas from the Den of Cruelty.
Chaos ensues. These guys are all flavors of masculine and gentle and hilarious and confused. No one understands why her scent drives them crazy, they just know that she's involved with their enemy somehow.
This is a setup to a LOT of interconnected standalones for each of the Dens in this world that Ell has created. It is very violent (a la Mafia houses), there are a lot of characters introduced in this book that you just knooooooow are going to show up in later iterations, and it's a lot to keep track of. I like chaos. This was an absolutely hilarious wild ride of a story and I COMPLETELY ATE IT UP. I don't think I've highlighted so many puns or clever phrases or one liners in a very long time.
If you like your cheek with a side of knotty omegaverse why choose, I HIGHLY recommend that you pick this book up.

Den of Cruelty is a razor-sharp and addictive mafia take on the Omegaverse. It delves deeply into devotion and deception in forms both negative and protective. Ell Youngish crafted the narrative with bite, where every choice feels like a calculated risk - sometimes the Alphas win, sometimes they learn a lesson. But regardless of the lesson the plot teaches you, the largest one you're left with is devotion. Pure, undiluted, raw pack loyalty.
"If I have to rip out another person's heart for you to live, I will."
Coming from Youngish' book "Rook of Ruin," I was immediately taken aback buy the level of high stakes tension weaved into Den of Cruelty. Youngish pulls the reader straight into the pack drama from page one, then continues to weave, yet unravel, the lies of deception and control through the chapters. It's actually impressive with how unputdownable it became, I was like an addict begging for one more chapter.
The drama, the emotion, the high stakes, hell even the humor!!! All of it made for such a fun and intriguing read (especially Charlotte's internal Omega monologues). Every pack member, for Cruelty, and for the others were all so unique with their own backstories. I will say that did get a bit complicated to keep track of....can a girl get a m*rderboard breakdown? I'm kidding, it was fine, the story didn't need it to be understood as a whole, there are just a lotttt of moving parts outside of the Den of Cruelty it's going to be interesting to see how they all play out in the next installment.
Den of Cruelty is rich in intrigue, but even richer in raw, unyielding passion. In levity through the fast pacing and darkest moments. This book was a wild ride from the beginning! The banter is hot right out of the gate, and it does not stop. And when I say why choose, not only does our FMC have a hard time choosing, but you will as well!
honestly, when I first started this book, I was not sure about it. It is so different than what I’ve been reading that I was like whoa. But I wanted to give it a chance so I kept reading. I think part of it was that it was a little confusing with the actual names and then the dent names. It took me a while to get it all straight in my head, but once I did, I did start to really get involved with these characters.
Charlotte is a total ditz, but in like the sweetest way possible. Is she a bad ass FMC that will fight to the death? Absolutely not. Is she the perfect FMC for this group of alpha’s? Yes. The fact that Charlotte reads romance and fantasy books and constantly talks about tropes was absolutely hilarious. Her inner monologue deeper into the book is truly hilarious.
And let me just say, the alpha‘s were hilarious. They were sweet and funny and gruesome and protective, and honestly, I was a little jealous of Charlotte. I have never read an omega verse book before, so this was brand new to me. I could see myself reading more of these books because it was a good time.
I love why choose…I think it’s so much fun and honestly, I think it’s every girl’s fantasy. Maybe not every girl, but this girl for sure. And this was super spicy and really fun!
If you are looking for an action packed, spicy, funny, romance, this book is for you.

This was truly a wild ride. There were moments I was laughing so much especially because of Fox.
CHARLOTTE- Without a doubt is one of of those FMCs I enjoy because of her bravery, spitfire attitude, and empathy. She handles what is thrown her way and powers forward.
FOX- He reminds me of D from Den of Vipers. Which means he is automatically my favorite. He is absolutely hilarious and obsessed with her from the start. His banter, humor, and all out dedication to his woman is amazing.
TIGER- The silent alpha is carrying alot more on his shoulders then you know till further along in the story. He is a good character and he deserves all the love.
WOLF- Alphahole 100%. He does like to give hand necklaces and is very dominant. However, at times I wished i could crawl into the story and punch him. Breeding kink 👀
BEAR- Sexy professor vibes, wears blue light glasses, tattoos, pierced, and a stalker via cameras. He is a big softy and is easy to love.
Not everything is 100% tied up by the end but this makes since due to future books of other dens. I did wish to have an extended epilogue because I really wanted to see how they all were with children.

I love why choose, add in the omegaverse trope and you have a recipe for a group of men obsessed with their woman. This was a great read, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
We have all our amazing alphas from broody, to funny, intense to geeky but they all have one thing in common they are protective of their omega and if you look at or touch her you are taking your life into your hands.
This book was entertaining from start to finish. The banter and sass kept me engrossed, starting from the initial introductions and misunderstanding to the flat-out choice to be otherwise and sassy.
Charlotte is sass and by no means a walk over and she definitely gives her alphas as good as she gets. It is great to see how each alpha gives her something different. They are all there for her in their own ways and she allows them to fix parts of them that they thought were unfixable.
The tension and spice in this book will have you toes curling and you smiling ear to ear. It made me want my own den that had a wolf, fox, bear and tiger.
Great standalone, def worth a read

Den of Cruelty was such a fun introduction to this non-shifter omegaverse. I loved the mix of dark romance, banter, dark humor, and spice. Charlotte is sassy, loves dark romance and pasta, and somehow finds herself kidnapped by four very different Alphas who are all drawn to her.
And the Alphas? There really is something for everyone. Wolf brings the possessive motorcycle-riding energy, Fox is the funny one with the accent, Bear has those hot professor vibes, and Tiger is the silent tortured soul who deletes bad people.
I really enjoyed the dynamic between Charlotte and the guys. The tension, possessiveness, and touch-her-and-die energy were exactly what I wanted from a why-choose omegaverse, but the humor kept it fun along the way.

This is the perfect example that if you take a chance and go out of your genre comfort zone with just right author can make all the difference!
I LOVEEEE Elle’s book Rook of Ruin it was one of my top books of the whole year last year! Omegaverse books are not a fav genre for me HOWEVER I put my trust in Elle’s writing and she most definitely knocked this one out of the park! I was hookeddd with the banter, the possessive alphas vibes, tension and spice and overall just the story itself was a banger. All the tropes were written and intertwined so well I was hooked from the get go.
Let’s start with I’m a suckerrrr for a hidden identity and/or characters who are “suppressed” or grew up believing one thing and slowly realizing the world is not how they were taught! Ughhhhh I love this trope and it gets me everytime 👏🏼👏🏼
Also a badass FMC 🙌🏼🙌🏼 sayyyy less I’m in!

As a lover of omegaverse, this one hit every single spot and trope, that I love reading in omegaverse books. I laughed so many times, it was freaking hilarious. Charlotte is so damn funny and relatable, I seriously felt like I was laughing damn near every page! I loved how she had her own, special relationship with all four of the guys, sometimes that’s super hard to do in a why choose situation, and one ends up falling a little flat, but absolutely not with these guys! They were all so devoted to her and head over heels, from the get, so it was just a damn good, spicy time. If you’re a fan of omegaverse, you’re going to have so much fun reading this. It has all of the amazing omegaverse tropes, with dark romance and hilarious banter and moments thrown in, just seriously a fun time! I’m so excited that I was able to be an early reader for Den of Cruelty and I can’t wait to read about all of the other Dens!

I had such a fun time reading Den of Cruelty. The plot was entertaining, the smut was intense, and I loved how all the characters had unique personalities.
This book is a well written why choose, because choosing a favorite MMC would be impossible. The author did a fantastic job making each of the alphas lovable. Fox’s jokes were hilarious (especially his monologue scenes), Bear’s overprotectiveness was genuine, Wolf had the best comebacks, and Tiger’s darkness arc was heartwarming somehow.
I loved the Omega/Beta inner monologues, I highlighted so many of them. She truly had me laughing out loud. I enjoyed all the references/puns written into the story, the trashy tv shows, books, and donuts. Also a little spoiler Rat girl’s last scene as perfection. 😌
I want to give a huge thanks to the author for gifting me this arc. It has brought so much joy and laughter into my life. My days were brighter while reading it, I will be reading your future books.

It is a fast paced read with high stakes and action. The FMC Charlotte is slowly starting to realize there is a lot more happening than meets the eye after she is kidnapped and thrown into the drama and chaos. I loved all the banter and humor and enjoyed being a long for the ride. The alphas all had their own personalities and fit perfectly within the story. Overall, this was a fun world and I loved experiencing everything unfold and secrets slowly reveal.

This book was such a wild, hilarious ride from start to finish. If you’re interested in/new to OV, this would be a great starter book. Ell did an absolutely fantastic job explaining everything!
DoC follows Charlotte, a sassy beta who has been sheltered her entire life, suddenly released into the real world with zero street sense and a bloodline she was unaware of. Little does she know, she is being hunted by the Den of Cruelty to be used in a revenge plot. ARC REVIEW

Tropes: Shifter, Why Choose, Breeding, Alpha/Omega
This read went far to quickly, the pacing is perfect but the story was so fun I didn't want it to end. We have Charlotte (FMC) who has lived a quiet mostly removed life when the Den of Cruelty kidnap her believing she is part of her estranged fathers plan to over throw the order of things. They quickly realize she is their mate but there is something sinister occurring and she is in the middle of it. With 4 Alphas who would anything for their Omega, sharp banter and a fully evolved society this book is a fully engaging ride. I will say Evander is my favorite and I appreciate how each alpha shows their affection for Charlotte . If you enjoy funny inner monologue, omegaverse and found family I highly recommend this book.

This one hurts because I waited MONTHS for it. The marketing absolutely got me, and the premise sounded amazing, so I fully expected to devour it.
Unfortunately, the execution just didn’t quite land for me. I wanted more suspense, tension, character depth, and build-up before everything wrapped up so quickly. At times, the story felt disconnected, which made it harder for me to fully settle into it.
I also struggled to connect with the characters, and while I understood the unique designation-based world-building, I found it a little confusing at times and didn’t always feel the personalities matched their designations.
Such a cool concept, but sadly this one missed the mark for me and I don’t think I’ll be continuing the series. That said, I can absolutely see why other readers would have fun with the banter and the MMC enthusiasm!

Den of Cruelty was without a doubt on if the funniest and spiciest books I have ever read. The banter and inner monologues will keep you laughing from page one and you won’t want to put it down.
Charlotte may have grown up sheltered but she is super sassy and does not back down to Alphas.
Choose your MMC, or love them all:
Wolf our Prime Alpha is more stoic and serious
Fox is gentile and hilarious
Bear is the nerdy professor type
Tiger is the quiet and mysterious
The way Ell is able to bring out each character’s personality while not losing any plot was top notch and if you have never read about an omegaverse or knotting, be prepared to learn!
I loved this book (I knew I would!). And I can’t wait for more!

There were so many typos throughout the book… it was pretty annoying to get through.
This book is an amazing example of telling instead of showing. Characters would go on full monologues of explaining basic lore to other characters when it didn’t make any sense. It made it so boring to get through.
The climax of the story was so anticlimactic i don’t think I can call it a climax. The author choose again to not show what happened but went with the main character feeling sick and being in and out of it and within a paragraph just went yah idk what happened but then x did this and then y was dead and they were all free. She did that twice actually it was very disappointing.
Just weak writing all throughout. Not a fan at all
