He was the idol. She was the makeup artist behind the scenes.
Sofía knows better than to fall for someone who belongs to the world. She's watched what this industry does to the people inside it — the careful management, the curated distance, the cost of wanting something real in a life built on performance. She knows the rules.
Lynx has spent years behind a mask that works. Controlled. Untouchable. A version of himself carefully built to survive an industry that takes everything and asks for more. He doesn't let people close.
He didn't plan it. She didn't want it. Neither of them could stop it.
What starts as distrust becomes friendship. Friendship becomes desire. Desire becomes something neither of them has a name for yet.
Because some love stories aren't built in a moment. They're built slowly. Carefully. And then all at once.

Besties... after that slow burn in Book 1, I was READY for Sofía and Lynx to get it together! 🤭 The yearning between these two had me frustrated in the best way because I could practically feel the tension.
I loved the Korean-American and multicultural representation, especially with my own fascination with Korean culture. It made this series even more enjoyable for me.
The suspense also kept me invested because the drama surrounding Sofía and Lynx just would NOT let these two breathe! There were moments when focusing on the other characters slowed their relationship progression a little too much for me, but I still wanted to see it through.
And whew... patience was definitely required, Besties, but that payoff? FINALLY! I really enjoyed Sofía and Lynx's story and I'm glad I started from Book 1.
