Ava’s been protecting her shifter friend from the alpha for months, but now he’s managed to come up with a brand new excuse to take Esther, and the Senate have turned their backs on her completely.
While Ava works to find a way to keep Esther out of Mac’s reach for good, a series of violent murders put everyone in the cul-de-sac under suspicion. An entire race will be exterminated the real culprits aren’t found, and people like Ava just might be next on the soon-to-be-extinct list.
This series is getting better and better and I am seriously getting nervous about completing the series. I feel like the characters feel so familiar to me that I'll miss them too much when this is all over. Luckily, I still have a few more books to go.
This book was intense and it took a lot of self control not to complete it all in one sitting (humans need sleep).
I'm in love with the werewolves and feel like I need a lot more of them.
I'm also craving for Ava and Phoenix to get together!
I was worried that the novellas before this book gave away too much but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It made everything make sense a bit more.
I really feel like the Eleven need to be revealing themselves a bit more. I NEED to know who Shephard is!
I dunno I’m just left with so many questions from the previous series which were big deals but haven’t been dealt with yet and there’s only one book left in the series and I just kinda can’t get over it
Another awesome addition to this already engaging series! Truly page turning this one was! That fucking paragon was a pain the ass! Why can't everyone just get along? Why must people have secret agendas and just want to hate on others? The world is crazy enough without adding more shit into that pot!
As much as I love Ava's character, quite frankly I'm tired of her floundering in her personal life. Pick a fucking man already, you either want Peter or Phoenix but you can't have both of them and I feel like she's playing both men. She says she can't be with Peter because of his violent ways, but he's trying so hard to change not only for his son but for her. Her reasons for not being with him are fucking ridiculous. If she knows she doesn't want a relationship then let him move on and find someone else, let him be happy. Stop giving him hope by kissing him and telling him you need more time just because you're jealous of Melody and subconsciously are trying to sabotage his potential relationship. That's wrong and selfish.
Then there's Phoenix, obviously the man has feelings for Ava and she's crushing on him but can he give her what she wants? At this point I don't think so, I think he's experimenting with Ava. Due to his missing memories he really has no idea what it is to love and form a relationship and Ava is just ripe for him to test himself and his feelings....but can something serious come out of that? Oh and let's not forget that Phoenix is just as violent as Peter if not more...so again her reasons are just fucking stupid!
Aside from Ava's ridiculous love life, this was an amazing read with plenty of action and mystery to keep any reader turning the page!
I gave this book a rating of 5 because I loved it. I loved how in the book the even the simplest answer wasn't easy to find even though it was right under their noses. But when things calmed down a bit she realized that it was the simplest answer . That pact meant family and that they were her family so in the end part of her pact. I recommend this book to anyone that loves anything supernatural.
I love this series and have read every book and novella set in the world of Ava Delaney. With this book Ava is beginning to find her own as the Matriarch in the Eleven. I love that the author makes her feel so human in a fantasy world. I was excited to see her and Phoenix explore their feelings a little and hope that in books to come it's explored further. I am interested to see how the author will lead Ava. She is a strong female who doesn't need a man to take care of her, but I would like her to find a mate to share her life with eventually and Phoenix is a very good candidate. Ms. Farrell is an excellent writer and I just can't get enough. I'm on to another set of stories by her while I bide my time waiting desperately for a new Ava world book.
Another alluring, exciting, and entertaining adventure by Claire!
Two amazing lines: "Bleary-eyed, I glanced at my watch and discovered it was still stupid o'clock." (I can totally relate to this personally).
"I meant what I said before, Ava. I'm not scared or repulsed by what you are. It's who you are that counts." (A true and trusting friend. I would want this said to me when so many people are repulsed and say negative things about me being different, not just strangers but some people that I consider friends too).
I adore Ava and Ms. Farrell has become one of my favorite authors. I can't wait for the next one! Her books are captivating and draw you right in to the world she has built. I highly recommend starting at the begging of the series with Thirst, you won't regret it.
Wonderful book! The only thing I dislike is the series is fast coming to a close! I would recommend this book to anyone old enough to know it is only a story! Thank you Claire for your wonderful writing!
I'm totally engrossed in this new series. I can't wait for the next installment. Thankfully, she has already written more books... So, on to the next one.
I really hope the author finds a way to write more stories about the characters in these books. So many ways to go with such a great story line !! Ms. Farrell you've done it again!
