Beautiful ending to a beautiful story 💜 Psychological manipulation is a tough thing to break, but the way Zagreus does it warms my heart. So glad they got their HEA 💜

His Eternal Claim by Luna Sads is the second book in the Ruin series, and so far, it’s absolutely my favorite! 🖤
This book kept me up at night—in the best possible way. You know the drill: “Just one more chapter…” and suddenly it’s way past midnight. Needless to say, I’ve had some very tired days because of this book. 🤦♀️🤦♀️😂
This story follows Zagreus, our sexy MMC, who isn’t afraid of his feelings and is completely, hopelessly devoted to Selene, our beautiful but broken FMC. 🖤
They meet when they’re just children, and from there, their love story unfolds through twists, turns, heartbreak, and obsession. You definitely need to pay attention because the story moves between the present and the past, eventually bringing everything full circle and ending where it begins.
The storytelling is so well done, and you can’t help but fall for Zagreus from the very beginning. Because honestly… who doesn’t want a man who would burn the entire world down for you? 🔥🖤

Book 1 left me with so many questions, and this book answered them.
Most of this book is about the past and everything that led up to Book 1. I would have liked only part of the book to be about the past, and then the rest to be about their present day. I would have liked to see more on-page current-day parts of the MCs.
Their background was complicated and intense. Zagreus always wanted Celestine for himself and was very obsessed and possessive. She went through a lot and did what she needed to get through it. I had so many emotions from all the hurdles placed in their way and everything they had to go through.
I was very glad that they got their HEA!

Wow!! You dont realize how much of their story you're missing from the first book. As I was reading His Eternal Claim, everything started to fall into place. Now I understand why he wouldnt talk about his first wife.
I love that this story had a happy ending but everything Celestine went theough by the hands of someone who is supposed to love her. Her story is heartbreaking.
Hannah deserved a worse ending.
I just love Zagrues. Everything he did was for Celestine.

I didn't want this book to end. I want to keep reading about Zagreus and Selene forever - only to know they're happy and safe. After everything they've endured, they deserve the world.
I'll be the first to admit that I hated Zagreus in His Dark Claim. Then I read His Eternal Claim, and everything changed. This book acts as a prequel to their story, answering so many questions left behind in Book 1 while completely changing the way I viewed him.
We get to witness their childhood, their past, and how they were used as pawns to strengthen alliances within the Cosa Nostra. Despite the impossible position he was put in, Zagreus did everything he could to protect Selene—even when it was tearing him apart. Every harsh word, every painful decision, every sacrifice he made had only one purpose: keeping her safe.
Selene was conditioned to hate him, but Zagreus patiently made her fall in love with him over and over again. Not with grand declarations, but through gentle touches, quiet reassurances, soft smiles, and all the little things she never knew she needed.
What fascinated me most was watching a man who could win wars and defeat anyone stand helpless against something he couldn't physically fight—psychological manipulation. How do you battle an enemy that's buried deep within someone's mind? And yet, he never stopped trying. Nothing else mattered to him. Only Selene.
This book is a beautiful testament to the lengths a man will go to protect the woman he loves. It's heartbreaking, tender, and filled with quiet sacrifices that make their love story unforgettable.

After reading The Dark Claim, I had quite a few questions and concerns, and I’m genuinely happy to say that this book answered almost all of them. I’m really glad I decided to read it.
At first, the story felt a little slow to me. One of my main issues with the previous book was that we were thrown straight into the present and the action without really getting enough context about the characters’ past. This book completely made up for that.
The author took the time to unfold the history of both sides, from their childhood and growing-up years to adulthood, how they met, and how they came to know each other. All those little mysteries that had been left hanging were finally explained, and I really appreciated how calmly and gradually everything was revealed. For me, it made the story much more satisfying.
I’ll admit that some of the earlier chapters, especially the parts focusing on their childhood, felt a little boring at first because of the slower pace. But as I continued reading, I realized how important those chapters were. They gave much-needed depth to the characters and helped me understand their personalities, choices, and relationship in a way that wouldn’t have been possible without knowing where they came from.
And despite the slower beginning, once I got into the story, I ended up reading it in one go. That says enough about how invested I became.
Luna, as always, didn’t disappoint. I really enjoy her writing and the way she slowly unravels the story while keeping you curious about what’s coming next. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more of her work.

Besties... this one came with secrets, obsession, betrayal, and enough family dysfunction to require its own therapy group. 🤭 "His Eternal Claim" throws Selene straight into another nightmare when she wakes up captive and comes face-to-face with someone she believed was dead. From there, the past and present collide HARD.
Zagreus remains possessive, ruthless, completely unhinged over Selene, and somehow this man had me bouncing between “Sir, absolutely not” and “Okayyy... continue.” 😂 Their history adds so much weight to their relationship because we finally see the childhood connection, the choices that tore them apart, and just how far the manipulation surrounding them really went.
The suspense kept building as Selene struggled with fractured memories while Zagreus worked behind the scenes to uncover the people responsible. And when those missing pieces finally started clicking together? BESTIES. The betrayals were personal.
It’s violent, emotional, spicy, messy, and seriously twisted, but underneath all that darkness is an obsessive love story about two damaged people who keep finding their way back to each other. Definitely check those TWs because this journey gets brutal. 🖤

Zagreus and Selene’s relationship isn’t simply about love—it’s about everything that comes with loving someone through betrayal, misunderstandings, separation, and circumstances that constantly try to tear them apart.
What really caught my attention is the complexity of Zagreus. He isn’t written as someone whose love is easy or straightforward. There’s so much beneath his actions, and the way his feelings for Selene remain constant even when everything around them changes makes their relationship incredibly compelling.
I also love the idea of a romance where the smallest moments can carry just as much weight as the dramatic ones. The loyalty, the patience, the emotional tension, and that feeling of choosing the same person again and again are what make this story stand out to me.

Oh my goodness! I desperately needed this book. I had completely forgotten about the cliffhanger, and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened! You finally get the answers you were missing, allowing you to piece together everything from the first book. I couldn’t put it down; it was incredibly captivating. It kept me on edge the entire time, as I was constantly switching between the past and present. It was simply amazing, and I couldn’t stop reading it. Zagreus was incredibly intense, and Selene was the one who tamed the beast within him. It’s incredible how the story unfolded, but it was still so good. Can we please get Judas Romanovski’s book? I’m dying to know how his story started. I was left intrigued by him, and I can’t wait to find out more.

Selene wakes up in the wrong cage, hollowed out by grief she can't name, and Zagreus waits like the Maestro he is, counting every hour she's kept away. I really enjoyed the psychological effects of her amnesia, especially how she questions every memory of him. It makes everything feel so tense and heartbreaking.
And Zagreus? If you like a man who would give up everything for you, this is the book for you. Zagreus is the kind of antihero who makes you swoon and shiver at the same time.

This is the second book in this series, and Wow what a book. After reading the first book I really thought Zagreus was a monster, this book puts everything you thought into a new perspective. I really dont want to give too much away as it would stop people reading the book. Selene comes across a little unhinged, except deep down she is totally conflicted. This book is totally different to what you expect it to be. I just couldn't put it down wanting to know the outcome and uncover the hidden secrets that left you wondering in the first book. I will say you should read His Dark Claim first just to build the whole story completely. I can't wait to read more of Luna's books

Eternal Ruin book 2 - It will blow your mind! Selene's mother Hannah and Zagreus's brother Corvin kidnap Selene, drug her, fill her with false memories, almost drive her mad, and manipulate her just to take down Zagreus. This story is so twisted! You will hate her mother and her cronies and you will love Zagreus's devotion for Selene no matter what he does to keep her safe. This is a roller coaster ride of biblical proportions and will keep you glued to the pages right thru to the end. This duet is fantastic! And for me, one of the best duets of 2026. This dark mafia romance captivated me from the very start. The thrilling danger, intriguing secrets, and electrifying chemistry between the characters kept me engrossed and unable to put the book down. I thoroughly enjoyed the morally ambiguous characters and the constant sense of impending doom. The romance was dark, toxic, passionate, and utterly addictive. While I highly recommend checking the trigger warnings, if you’re a fan of possessive mafia men, enemies-to-lovers tension, and a romance with a hint of danger, this book is definitely worth reading.

This isnt a stand-alone. This answers the questions you had from the first story. Im still not sure i like Z through most of the first book. The story full of Angst and Captivating and intense.

You just wanna wrap her in cotton and hold her tight. Then he does several better than just that.
Now you have both stories reread then again. It definitely hits.

Meet Selene and Zagreus. She was raised to hate him. He just wanted to keep her safe- against everything. This guy continued to help her fight her own mind. This story grabbed me from the beginning. The emotions were intense and real. I just loved his tenacity at continuing to fight for her. What a ride! I’m a huge fan of this author. Spice is 🌶️🌶️🌶️ and stars are 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I wasn't sure I was going to like Zagreus in this book either. He is manipulative beyond anything I have seen but he loves Selene with everything he has. Selena goes through so much that I want to rage for her. And her mother... oh that woman is a beast from hell. What Zagreus and Selene have endure is horrible for anyone 2 people to go through. But I now understand Zagreus better.

I was so happy to finally have this book in my hands to get a conclusion to that cliffhanger at the end of the first book. Zagreus and Selene are two of my favorite characters that I have read in a while. I loved being able to see more into their past and the present. This book had everything I needed to get the story finished.

I'm not one to read a book that has the past and present timelines, but for this story it did work. We see how the past frames the present and the questions that carried over from book one become clear.
You might not have liked Zagreus, but his end game was always Selene -- in everything he did. A very intense, captivating, and emotional read.

This is book 2 in the series and I was hoping it continued where book one left off but I was a little disappointed that a lot of this book was based in the past but the storyline was very good and once the timelines came together I really enjoyed it.
If you love mafia romance I highly recommend this series.

This was such a beautiful finish to these two. Selene and Zagreus went through so much. The lengths Zagreus went for her stole my heart. And I loved that we got to see the past mixed with the present so we coils have a better understanding of everything that happened. This was such an intense and emotional story. I absolutely loved the way this ended.
