My grumpy, infuriatingly handsome billionaire boss, Blake Devlin, wants to fire me.
And he’s probably right.
I embarrassed myself spectacularly the first time we met.
Clearly a sheltered woman from a tiny village doesn’t belong at Sated International, a company that’s apparently famous for selling sex toys and publishing novels so spicy, they’d melt your Kindle.
If only I’d had time to research them before my interview…
When the CEO realises that HR hired me anyway (yep, I was surprised too), he makes it clear I have no business being there.
After fighting so hard to live the life I’ve always dreamed of in London, I can’t afford to lose this opportunity. I need to focus on proving him wrong.
But when I discover the man behind the expensive tailored suits and a world I never even knew existed, everything changes.
I want my boss.
And sometimes I swear there are moments when the same man who was so determined to get rid of me looks like he wants me too.
No.
That’s impossible.
A relationship between the CEO and an employee is strictly forbidden.
Getting involved would be utterly reckless.
A powerful, older man like Blake Devlin would never risk everything to be with someone like me.
Right?
Pure Recklessness is a standalone, dual-point-of-view billionaire office romance featuring a grumpy CEO, a sheltered heroine, sizzling boss/employee age-gap tension, laugh-out-loud moments, banter, a secret forbidden relationship with spice and a swoon-worthy happily ever after.

Sometimes the best romantic chaos begins when a heroine finally steps outside the life everyone else planned for her.
Ellie had me laughing with her hilariously awkward introduction to Sated, and watching her find her confidence with the help of her new friends, Dana and Joe, was lovely. Blake was intimidating, grumpy, and ridiculously attractive, and their chemistry had me hooked from the start.
I especially enjoyed watching Ellie embrace her independence while Blake slowly let his guard down. Their differences made their relationship so entertaining, and the banter, family antics, and steamy moments kept me turning the pages. Blake trying to resist Ellie was one thing, but seeing him gradually soften around her was even better. And the Devlin brothers? Absolutely hilarious!
Between the forbidden romance, Ellie’s personal growth, and all the delicious tension, I had such a good time with this one. I also appreciated that their connection grew beyond the physical attraction, giving their romance some lovely moments alongside all the spice.
The Devlin family has definitely caught my attention, and I’m already curious about which brother will steal my heart next!

A sincere thank you to Olivia Springs and Booked Up PR for the ARC! 🥰📚
I’m so grateful for the early read. As always, all thoughts and opinions are completely my own. ✨
I found it hard to believe that sheltered, naive Ellie, who had very little sexual experience, suddenly became a seductive temptress after trying out the company's "toys" and reading a few of their books. It didn't seem probable and just didn't work for me. I did enjoy the interactions she had with her co-workers Dana and Joe, but it wasn't enough to carry the book.
Oh what a deliciously brilliant book this was. I absolutely adored it. This was so much fun and a great take on a Billionaire romance.
Elle has had a very sheltered upbringing and so when she moves to London she's determined to discover the world.
She is called for an interview unexpectedly and as it's a bit of a mad rush she isn't as prepared as she would want to be. This results in one of the most funniest meet cutes I've ever read. Just be aware if you read this on the way to work on the train you will burst into laughter and get funny looks.
She finds herself interviewing for an adult toy company. And not just that they are known worldwide. There are some hilarious parts of this book. And all the time I was reading it I kept thinking It would be an amazing film.
Blake was everythinf I love in a billionaire. Oozing with grumpiness and power but soft for his woman.
As their relationship develops they both learn from one another and it was a great case of opposites attract.
I cannot wait to read the rest of the brothers in this series. This book has set the series up perfectly.
I had a ball with this book. Absolutely brilliant.
Ellie grew up very sheltered and even overprotective parents, all out of love of course. But as she is ready to discover the world, she made the move to London on her own, and is looking for a job. When she unexpectedly has to go to an interview, she doesn’t have enough time to do proper research about the company. Because if she did, she would know that Sated International is known all over the world for selling toys (not those for children) and novels (not the closed door ones). Upon her arrival, she does not make the best impressions yet somehow she manages to secure the job, even if the CEO does not agree. However, Ellie is determined to prove Blake Devlin that his opinion of her is wrong. With the help of her new friends and colleague Dana and Joe, Ellie sees what she has been missing out. And slowly Ellie starts to realize that despite her inexperience, she wants the man everyone at Sated wants, her boss Blake. But even if it may seem that Blake may want her too, there is no way someone like Blake could ever want someone like Ellie. And let’s not forget the fact that relationships at the office is absolutely forbidden.
Having read several of Olivia Spring’s romance books, I was eager to read this new one, also knowing it would be more explicit than what I have read before of her. I did not have any doubt that the switch from sweet to spicy would work out for Olivia perfectly. And sweet baby Jesus, what a book this was! I still need to come back to my senses! 😊
As an Italian myself, I can assure you that my parents (especially my dad) were very protective op me. Being the youngest and the only girl does that with Italians 😊. So when I discovered that Ellie’s parents were also overprotective, immediately made me connect with Ellie. But I also need to make clear that Ellie’s parents, even if it’s with the best intentions, are overprotective on a whole other level!
And that saddened me to read about Ellie. Because growing up can be a difficult process, it also means that she has missed out on so many fun things in life. She doesn’t know much of the world, and while I understood where she was coming from (even if only in a later stage we understand why), and the world can be a scary place, the world is also a beautiful place.
At the same time, I also admired Ellie right from the start, because while her love or her parents is obvious, she also found the courage to stand up against them, and decided to make the move to London.
Finding a job is not easy, and the stress Ellie goes through while getting to Sated, with zero preparations at all (not her fault though!), I found it excruciating myself! Yet at the same time, seeing her stumble and being innocent in a way, was just hilarious for me as a reader. And let me tell you already, I will never look at a lipstick the same way 😃!
It was sweet reading how even as she is out of her depth, she makes two new friends, Dana and Joe. I just felt it in my bones that while perhaps it takes a moment getting used to their directness, they are the best kind of friends Ellie could ever find.
It was hilarious reading how they are pushing Ellie out of her comfort zone (that is not hilarious), but how they ‘introduce’ Ellie in the world of Sated. And then unleashed a beast! 😃
I have to admit, there are moments that I was a little bit in shock, seeing the liberated Ellie. Initially with some trepidation, but growing more confident with the passing of time, Ellie understands what she want and also, who she wants.
And that “who” may be a complication… Not only is the man of her desires and fantasies her own boss, but he also has very strict rules about relationships at the office. As a healthy woman myself, I for sure could see and feel it perhaps myself, the attraction towards Blake Devlin, and to be honest, towards all the Devlin brothers! Can I buy a real life Blake (or another Devlin Brother) somewhere? 😊
Blake already from his first appearance emanates power and wealth. He is not the kind of man to mess with. He keeps high standards and expects from everyone at Sated to be the same. And if you can not follow the rules, it’s easy, you’re out.
And perhaps it may be a bit over the top, his rule about no relationships at work, but further along in the story it will be made clear why that rule has been set, and I could understand Blake’s reasoning.
Blake can truly be intimidating, but we also see how important family is for him. Of course with brothers, a healthy dose of arguing is normal, but when it truly matters, the Devlin’s are all there for each other.
I had a few sneaky laughs seeing how Blake is feeling attracted to Ellie, but tries to resist that. And my laughs become less sneaky reading how Ellie become a real seductress (who would have thought that about Ellie!) and resisting is just an impossible task.
And OH MY GOD, I expected things to get heated between Blake and Ellie, but this heated? I was NOT PREPARED for that! Memo to myself: do not read this series when you’re at the office and you have a moment to spare!
While the heated moments got me, well, heated, the other private moments between Blake and Ellie got me melting. Because it starts as a physical attraction, with clear rules, slowly we see from both sides walls let down. And while their worlds couldn’t be further apart, there is a connection so strong between this pair…
Obviously, there are several things taking place in this book, and we see how Blake sees what an asset Ellie is for Sated, with several great idea, how protective Blake becomes and how understanding Ellie is of the situation they find themselves. I found it also great of Ellie of not pushing Blake, she gives him the space he needs, she doesn’t interfere, she doesn’t go nosing around.
Beside all that is happening with Blake and Ellie, I also had a few squeaks of happiness, as there are a few surprising cameos. How lovely was it to see some old beloved friends again!
This book should definitely come with a warning. Once you start, you just cannot stop. So make sure that you have the place and the time to devour it all. Perhaps also make sure that you are on your own, because when things get heated, you may need to cool down yourself 😊! And definitely DO NOT READ THIS WHILE AT WORK! Been there, done that, but it won’t be repeated, as I did not see mails coming in, as I did not see people arrive at the desk etc.
Now I just have one urgent request to the amazing author that Olivia Spring is (beside where I can find my own Devlin brother): PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAASE give us more!!! I devoured this book on an unhealthy level (but definitely NO REGRETS at all) and I need my next shot!
Tropes: Workplace Romance, Age Gap, Innocent Heroine, Taboo, Opposites
Country Meets City
Pure Recklessness: An Age-Gap Billionaire Office Romance by Olivia Spring is a slight departure from her usual gently amusing romance stories. Ms. Spring is a prolific and entertaining writer bringing new life to romantic comedy. And while her books are never stingy with her use of spice; however, Pure Recklessness brings the heat level all the way up to steaming😊. Eleanor (Ellie) has been sheltered from ALL of life’s ills by her overprotective parents. Taking control to a new level, her father chauffeured her to and from her college courses! Finally standing up for herself, Ellie moved to London looking for job opportunities. Job pickings are slim and it is beginning to look like Ellie will have to return to her small village and resume her stifled existence. Fortunately, Ellie receives a call from a recruiter from the international company, Sated. Surely she will make a good impression and get her foot in the door. After a stunning romantic blow, Blake Devlin has rededicated himself to running his family’s adult company Sated with his brothers, eschewing entanglements of the heart, especially with people working at their company. In fact, he went as far as to put a no fraternization clause in the company policy. When he interviews Ellie it is inconceivable that ANYONE on the planet could be so uninformed concerning toys, devices and reading material for sexual adventure and titillation. Ellie is mortified when she realizes the products manufactured by Sated are for “intimate” enjoyment. She desperately needs this job and is thrilled when Blake reluctantly gives her a chance after her disastrous interview. But while working together, will they be able to resist that visceral connection that plagued them from their first meeting? After all, a relationship between them would be completely taboo but tell that to their hearts!
Conclusion: Pure Recklessness is a warm, hilarious, sexy romp as Ellie and Blake resist and finally surrender to their attraction. In addition, it was amusingly stressful as they suffered close misses in their efforts to keep their affair under wraps. Readers knew that at some point they would be exposed, the only question was how big would be the fallout. I loved the dynamics of their relationship; grumpy Blake was jaded by life and love while Ellie was luminously ready to see what had been lacking in her sheltered life; she brought a much needed lightness Blake’s bleak life. Final words, I always love Ms. Spring’s prose and heart-felt stories. This story has a great epilogue, and we get a hint about the next story in the series, perhaps Oscar and Madeleine Dubois??? I am here for it!
Favorite Lines: ‘You specialise in apple pie and toys,’ I said as confidently as I could. ‘That employee you just had in here looked like she’d be more than willing to help you relax,’ Oscar said. It just shows that you’re a glutton for punishment. Why wear one hideous item when you can wear four? It was like whenever I was left alone with Mr Devlin, I had a habit of embarrassing myself. But now, as crazy as it sounded, I wondered if this was starting to develop into something more… Everything was going brilliantly. SatisFya was almost complete.
5 ⭐️ Tropes: dual POV, billionaire romance, office romance, boss/employee, age gap, forbidden romance, opposites attract, secret relationship, fish out of water, grumpy x sunshine, hilarious banter
“The number of reasons I shouldn’t want to go there were infinite. She wasn’t just an employee. She was a very innocent junior employee. The imbalance of power was at its greatest. I needed to stay the hell away from Eleanor. For her sake as well as my own.”
I ADORED this book! The not so cute meet cute at the beginning was HILARIOUS and mortifying at the same time 😂 I was INSTANTLY hooked and knew I was going to love this one!
Eleanor starts off as a super shy, sheltered girl who moves to London to chase the life she’s always dreamed of, only to find herself working for a grumpy, ridiculously handsome billionaire CEO who doesn’t want her around 😂 Watching her confidence grow and seeing her go through a complete transformation and sexual awakening was EVERYTHING! I loved her strength, how she learned to stand her ground, and how she fought for what she wanted. Seeing her become more confident and embrace this new side of herself was so much fun!
“Clearly, I’d been possessed. Some slutty temptress had taken residence in my body and was making me do all kinds of naughty things that sensible Eleanor wouldn’t even consider in a million years. But, if I was being totally honest, I liked my alter ego. She was fun, fearless and powerful.”
And Blake? ABSOLUTELY SWOON WORTHY 🥵 He had a deliciously dirty mouth to go with his grumpy exterior, and I ATE IT UP! What started as a “let’s get this out of our systems” fling quickly turned into something neither of them expected. I loved watching Blake go from a grumpy, guarded CEO to a total softie for Eleanor. Her “Percy bear” 🥹🤭 Seeing that sweeter side of him had me SWOONING, and I seriously couldn’t get enough of these two 😍
“I’d started calling her Doc because Ellie had fixed me. I was no longer broken or empty inside. Ellie was more than just a relaxation therapist who eradicated my stress and calmed my mind. She made me feel better about everything. Myself. My abilities. Life and all of its possibilities. Whenever I was with Ellie, I was happy. I was home. She made me feel whole.”
I LOVED how they brought out the best in each other, too! Eleanor helped Blake see there was more to life than work, while he helped her feel comfortable embracing who she was and what she wanted. They made each other feel safe enough to let their guards down, and I loved seeing them grow together 🥹
ANOTHER thing I absolutely LOVED was how sex positive this book was and the entire premise behind it! Eleanor discovering what she wanted and learning to own it was seriously EVERYTHING 🥵
Olivia has done it again! The chemistry, the banter, the spice, and Blake slowly losing his mind over Ellie? EVERYTHING was just chef’s kiss 🥵 This was such a fun, addictive read, and I loved every minute of it. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! 😍
Thank you to Olivia Spring for sending me an eARC in exchange for an honest review 💕
I finished my ARC of Pure Recklessness by Olivia Spring, and I LOVED EVERY BIT OF THIS BOOK!
From the FIRST PAGE, I was already laughing my ass off. 😂
We meet Ellie, a twenty-something who has spent most of her life sheltered by her parents. She moves to London because she’s ready to finally experience LIFE, step outside of her comfort zone, and figure out who she is without her parents controlling everything.
Then she walks into a job interview completely BLIND. 😭
She has absolutely NO IDEA that the company she’s interviewing for is all about women’s pleasure—think toys, lingerie, erotic books, romance books… the WORKS.
And when this sheltered woman picks up a vibrator and thinks it’s LIPSTICK?!
I WAS SOLD. IMMEDIATELY. 😭😂💄
Then we meet Blake, the grumpy billionaire CEO who’s basically looking at Ellie like…
“Who is this woman and WHY is she here?!” 😂
And from there? BABY, THE STORY TAKES OFF.
🔥 Grumpy billionaire 💼 Office romance 😮💨 Pining 🌶️ Spice 😂 Laugh-out-loud moments 💕 And ALL THE FEELS
What I really loved was that underneath all the funny and spicy moments, there was so much more to both characters. I felt for Ellie as she stepped into this completely different world and started discovering who she wanted to be, but I also understood Blake and where some of his walls came from.
Their dynamic gave me EVERYTHING.
I laughed. I swooned. I felt for these characters. And I absolutely ate up watching sheltered Ellie enter this new world while Blake tried to figure out what the hell to do with her. 😂
This was such a FUN read from beginning to end.
Pure Recklessness releases October 9, so definitely add this one to your TBR! 📚🔥
Thank you for the ARC, because Olivia Spring… YOU GOT ME WITH THIS ONE. 👏🏽
The first book in the new series (The Devlin Billionaires) by Olivia Spring started off in such a way that I cannot wait for the next book in the series. It was captivating, impossible to put down, and the spiciest book from the author so far!
Ellie moved to London at the age of 26 having had an incredibly sheltered life from childhood into her twenties by intensely overprotective parents who had been altered by tragedy some years earlier. As a result, Ellie was unusually innocent for her age. When she ended up working at Sated International, she had a steep learning curve both personally and professionally. She made close work friends with Dana and Joe who helped guide her and provide an education to fill in the gaps in her knowledge, even in relation to popular culture.
I loved that having been sheltered for so long in her life, in spite of understanding why her parents had protected her, she was still determined to stand up to her parents. She was so intrepid in her job, and bursting with creative ideas that grabbed the attention of billionaire CEO Blake Devlin. Blake was devastatingly handsome, although serious and grumpy, having been damaged by a massive betrayal by someone he trusted. The chemistry between Ellie and Blake was seriously off the charts but as with all of Olivia Spring's novels, there was also plenty of humour.
This was such a brilliant start to a new series, with tiny character links to previous novels. Don't let that put you off reading this incredible book, there is no detriment to reading the start of this series without reading previous books by the author.
If you are looking for a billionaire office romance with age gap and grumpy sunshine tropes, look no further, just be prepared to laugh, blush and enjoy this spicy romcom!
Blake and Eleanor are just perfect. He’s grumpy and closed off; she’s lovely, innocent and shy. You couldn’t find two more opposite characters, and I absolutely loved watching their relationship develop.
This book took me from “Oh my God, I can’t believe she said that!” to “I can’t believe she did that!” and then “Why didn’t you act on that?!” The banter is brilliant, and the way Blake’s brothers torment him is absolutely hilarious. There were so many moments when I found myself laughing out loud.
I also loved how Olivia captures family dynamics and how differently we’re all brought up. Eleanor’s upbringing and exposure to the world couldn’t be more different from Blake’s. They are complete opposites, with completely different ways of looking at life, and that made their story even more special. It shows that when you find the right person, someone with a wonderful heart, your background and experience of the world don’t have to stand in the way of love. Those differences really don’t matter.
I’m a sucker for a billionaire romance, but the slow burn made this one stand out. There’s something so beautiful about watching someone as guarded as Blake allow himself to feel, and then fall so hard. He was infuriatingly perfect, and I loved seeing Eleanor find her confidence and embrace her inner goddess. To borrow her own expression, this book was more than a little “tickety-boo”!
This is the first book I’ve read by Olivia, and it’s beautifully written. I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to read an advance reader copy of Pure Recklessness.
This review was written by me on the 18th August 2026.
My Review:
Oh wow, I absolutely loved this story! It was intriguing, it was romantic, it was funny and full of hilarious banter and OH MY GOD…..it was hot, hot, hot!!!
Right from the very beginning I was captivated by the storyline and it instantly pulled me in and held me there, hugging me all the way, until I had completely devoured it all! The only thing now is that the wonderful ending definitely left me wanting more, and now I need more of the Devlin brothers ASAP!
From the moment we meet Blake, he comes across as an arrogant t**t and to be quite honest he is…but throughout the book he begins to thaw and changes for the better and that’s when he becomes irresistible - swoon!!
Oh and then there is Ellie and she was just the most wonderful character. She started off a little sweet and very naive but through her experiences with Sated International and with the help of her newfound friends, Dana and Joe, she came out of her shell and became assertive and confident and fiercely loyal and I absolutely loved her.
If you love a Billionaire romance - like I do - and if you love a grumpy vs sunshine trope, then you will love this story and become addicted to all the Devlin brothers!
And lets not forget the level of spice in this one….it was as hot as molten lava and I was all there for it too!
Now my only problem is that I desperately want more, more, more and I cannot wait to find out more details about the sizzlingly sexy Devlin brothers…….
This was such a fun & spicy romance! I really enjoyed Ellie and Blake's story. Ellie is trying to make a life for herself in London and finally prove that she can stand on her own. Then she gets a job at Sated International and meets Blake, the billionaire CEO. From their very first meeting, the chemistry between them is impossible to ignore.
I really liked Ellie so much!! She starts off a little unsure of herself, but throughout the story, we get to see her become more confident, brave and comfortable with who she is. Blake seems serious and intimidating at first, but there is a much softer side to him. Their relationship slowly becomes more than just attraction, even though they both know they are crossing a big line with the boss and employee situation (reminds me of Hating game and The proposal)
The writing was really very easy to read and kept the story moving. I especially liked the dual POV because getting both Ellie and Blake’s thoughts made their attraction, doubts and feelings easier to understand. There is plenty of spice, but I also liked that the story had romance, humour, emotional moments and a little bit of drama around them.
There is also a mystery running through the story, especially with Pandora and Blake’s past and the trouble that comes later. I kept wondering what was going to happen next and how they were going to deal with everything without losing each other or their careers.
It's a steamy billionaire romance with lots and lots of chemistry and drama!!
Oh Olivia, this book was top notch AMAZING!!!! It not only grabbed me immediately but the little funny quirks you put in there had me rolling. Not only was it super spicy but I was able to relate with the character so much. I myself was a sheltered woman and didn't know anything about kinks, spicy books and even audiobooks until much later in life. So Ellie, was definitely me some time ago.
The FMC, Ellie, is fixing to have to go back to her small village after not being able to get a job in London but all that changes when she gets a call to work a few days at a local spicy book production firm since the staff has caught food poisoning. In just those few days, she has made an HUGE impact on Blake, the firms owner and MMC of the story. Ellie, is great at what she does but she isn't your typical woman. She dresses like Dorothy from the Golden Girls, never has read a spicy book, and refuses to try adult toys. This is all strange to Blake but also has him amused. When Ellie finally opens her horizons, boy does it change her way of thinking and begins to try new things.
Overall, the writing and the way this story flowed was just what I needed this fall. This book will have you laughing, swooning, and possibly open your horizons to new things like listening to an audiobook if you haven't. Add this book to your TBR because it's a must and I promise you will enjoy it.
Oh My this book will most definitely leave you 'Sated'!! Olivia, thank you for reaching out and offering an ARC and a chance to read this, Mr Devlin (Blake) and Ellie were an extremely pure reckless read that left me very satisfied.
Blake Devlin and his brothers are the owners of Sated International, a company the specialises in sex toys and publishing erotic novels that are extremely spicy. So when Eleanor (Ellie) turns up to an interview to work there, she has absolutely no clue what Sated is, nor what the 'LipStick' sitting on the desk actually is for. Ellie has lived a very sheltered life from over protective parents, and her dress sense of sensibility and naivety, has her on Blakes radar.
In time she has her own 'awakening' after her new friends encourage her own Andie Sachs (The Devil Wears Prada) moment, which includes sex toys and novels, I mean you need to fully, and I mean FULLY immerse yourself in the business if you expect to succeed. The pull between Ellie and Blake is extremely strong, but employees are not meant to 'fraternise'.......
Olivia, this book has to be one of the spiciest books I have read, and I am not mad about it. Age Gap/Billionaire/Grumpy CEO, well you had me at Age Gap. These two I loved, and I am equally looking forward to his brothers (I am hoping) receiving their own stories.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, and I couldn’t have been more excited!
I absolutely loved poor, clueless Ellie 😂 Raised in a tiny village with no TV, friends or much internet access, she moves to London in her mid-20s with basically zero life experience.
A last-minute job interview lands her at sated, a world-famous sex toy and spicy book company… except Ellie has absolutely no idea what she’s walked into. Especially when she tells the CEO she’s considering using their “new lipstick” right there and then, completely oblivious that it’s actually a mini vibrator!
Enter her boss, billionaire CEO Daddy Devlin aka Blake… or Percy Bear, if you prefer
This book is funny, spicy, full of tension and easy to get pulled into. I loved watching Ellie’s sexual awakening and Blake slowly loosen up.
A hot billionaire CEO who has banned office relationships, only to fall for the shy girl who can’t even say the word orgasm? Yep. I’m here for it.
I loved this book and I can't wait for Book 2.
If you love office romance, age gap, billionaire, definitely add this one to your TBR!
Firstly, thank you to Olivia for letting me be a part of the ARC team. This isn't my first read by this author, but it definitely confirmed I'll be reading more.
Ellie is a sheltered young woman, so when she starts working for a sex positive international company, it's a bit of a shock to her system, especially when she doesn't make the best first impression on the (very attractive) CEO. I enjoyed the story and the way Ellie's character developed, though there was a lot of development in one area in a short space of time. I liked the way we were kept guessing about what it was that caused her parents to close ranks around her against the world, and that it never became taboo amongst them, the same way that Blake's past was alluded to before being discussed. The development of the plot was always about more than the romance (which was spicy, to say the least!) and it was refreshing to see that compared to other bokks I've read. I wasn't so keen on the cliffhanger elements at the end, but it's certainly made me keen to read the next book.
A great read I'll be recommending to (certain) friends.
I loved this book! Rather than returning to the small village where she grew up, Eleanor has been hunting in London for her first job after college. After she gets a last-minute interview with the grumpy CEO of a family-owned conglomerate, Eleanor discovers that the companies sell sex toys, lingerie and steamy novels. As she learns about the product lines, Eleanor turns out to be a marketing whiz. She ends up working closely with the older, sexy CEO on a few important new projects. Blake finds himself twisted up in a tantalizing, forbidden attraction to the companies' newest employee. Their engaging banter (and a few twists) keep Eleanor and Blake’s mutual attraction and developing romance from being predictable. This story has adult steam and toys, humor, good supporting characters (Eleanor makes friends with co-workers, while Blake’s brothers work for the conglomerate too) and a swoony HEA. The dual points of view in this book are very well-written. This book is a LOT of fun – strongly recommended! I received an advance copy and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Olivia Spring has done it again! I’m honored to be able to read a digital ARC of this book. I cleared my schedule and read the entire book in one sitting. I could not stop turning the pages. This is the first book in her new series and I’m already looking forward to book two. If you’ve read her other series you’ll enjoy the little Easter egg character drops throughout this story. Eleanor grew up sheltered in a small village, but moved to London to spread her wings. What she doesn’t expect is a temp interview for a company she’s never heard of. Blake is the oldest Devlin brother and CEO of their family’s company. He’s instantly irate when he meets Eleanor and she knows nothing about their company. As Eleanor tries to stay at the company, you’ll be routing for her. And when sparks fly, you’ll be routing for them to ignore the rules. You will devour this spicy billionaire romance and be waiting for the next book in the series!

This is my first time reading a book written by Olivia Spring, who I recently had the pleasure of meeting at the Four Brits Book Fest small-town romance signing event in London. Pure Recklessness isn't a small-town romance, but when deciding whether to read it, I realised that it does tick many of my favourite trope boxes.
I loved meeting the Devlin brothers, whom I believe this series will be based around, judging by the introduction for book two. I love their relationship, both in and out of the office, and after getting to know Blake, who leads this story, I cannot wait to get to know Oscar, Heath and Seb better too.
Blake is the eldest of the siblings and CEO of the family business. What a business it is! I enjoyed learning more about Sated, and I loved that it is Blake's love interest, Ellie, who shows the reader everything we come to know about it. Their romance is, through Blake's own doing, forbidden, shall we say, and this enables some drama to unfold.
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the changes in Blake throughout the story. There is also a mystery surrounding Ellie's story, and I enjoyed trying to anticipate what this could be. My attention wasn't always held when reading this narrative, however. Whilst the chemistry between Blake and Ellie is sizzling, I felt that it took over at times - but I have to say that this may be a bonus for those who enjoy hot and steamy reads.
The ending has left me intrigued for Oscar's story, who leads Pure Hatred, the second book in this new series. What a title!!!
Pure Recklessness pulled me in almost immediately and did not let go. The forbidden office romance had me completely invested, and every little—or completely catastrophic—hiccup along the way just made me more desperate to see how everything would unfold.
And then Olivia Spring decided to leave us with THAT cliffhanger.
My jaw was officially on the floor. 😳
Just when I thought I knew where things were going, that ending had me immediately needing the next book. Now I’m sitting here itching to get my hands on Pure Hatred because I NEED to know what happens next.
4⭐️ for me, and I’m absolutely invested in this series.
Thank you to Olivia Spring and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review an advanced reader copy. 🖤📚

Eleanor has been looking for a job in London instead of going back home to the village she spent her childhood. Since leaving college she’s not had a job, so this will be her first one.
She’s invited to an interview with a CEO of a corporation that’s owned by the family. She finds out what exactly the company sells.
Finding out about the products, she soon discovers that she’s really good at marketing. So after that she’s now working closely with the CEO, who is handsome and old, they are working on a few important new projects.
Blaze soon learns that he’s attracted to Eleanor. They get on really well and there’s some twists along the way, but the feelings for both of them start to deepen.
This had some interesting characters.
The different perspectives were beautifully written.
✨✨✨✨✨ARC review! This was the very first ever book by the author Olivia Spring that I’ve read and it definitely will NOT be the last. Work place romance at it’s best. As the title suggests-Pure Recklessness for both Blake & Ellie. Small town girl Ellie moves to the city to get away from her overbearing parents. Then comes face to face with the boss-hole himself Mr Blake Devlin or Mr Devil as the employees call him behind his back. He implemented a strict NO fraternization workplace policy. But, Mr Devil himself blows that right up. And I for one cannot WAIT to see how justice is served to a former employee! And see Mr Oscar Devlin hooked up. Sounds like that will he an epic enemies to lovers book. I love series like this that interconnect other characters & tell their stories too. Loved it-highly recommend reading it.
Eleanor is 26 and has been completely sheltered by her parents and thus is extremely inexperienced. When she lands a temp job for a company for women's toys she is struggling at first but maybe the company's CEO Blake Devlin can help her gain experience? This is a fish-out-of-water, grumpy-sunshine, forbidden office romance with lots of spice. The FMC Eleanor is funny and mostly relatable but her transition from inexperienced to completely wanton was a bit hard to believe for me. It took me a while to warm up to the MMC Blake but he grew on me throughout the book. I loved the setting in a company for adult toys and the meet-cute really made me laugh out loud. Thank you, Olivia Spring, for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. I am writing this review voluntarily.
This gem of a book is packed with so many fun tropes and is a masterpiece of romance in my mind! 😍😍😍 I especially loved the fish out of water and forbidden romance tropes! Olivia weaves romance and comedy together so flawlessly! There are so many laugh out loud moments and get ready for lots of spice! I felt like I needed a bucket of water to cool myself down. 🥵🥵🥵 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I loved how there are emotional and meaningful elements to the story as well so you feel like you really get to know Blake and Ellie. ❤️ Their chemistry and interactions are so addicting and the romantic gestures had me swooning! I really loved seeing Ellie’s transformation on the inside and out!
This was my very first Olivia Spring book and I am hooked!!! This one had so many of my favorite tropes - age gap, grumpy billionaire, boss/employee/ forbidden relationship and innocent heroine.
Blake and Ellie are magnificent. Ellie is sheltered and really stepping out on her own. Her interview at Blake’s company is the start of such a beautiful journey for them both. This book has such funny moments and steam, but also a lot of really maybe…life changing moments. Watching Ellie come into her own and gain confidence was beautiful. Blake becoming less jerky and falling for Ellie in the process was perfection.
I am so excited for more in this series!!! I want so much more time with the Devlin brothers 😉
I’m in love with this book, the characters are amazing, I love the humour so much, I’ve read it twice now and it makes me laugh so much, the treadmill scene is awesome and the banter between the Devlin brothers is top notch. Ellie is so sweet and her strength is unmatched, I can’t get enough of these two, spicy and heartwarming, the way Ellie breaks down Blake’s walls and her determination to get what she wants is exactly what he deserves. It’s not just the main characters that are great but also the side characters, and her parents use of the familiar Mrs whats its friends mothers best friends brother anecdotes of the perils of city life are so good 😂 A fun excellent well written gem of a book

Ellie wants to start a new life in London. When she is desperate to find a job, and one lands in her lap with no time to look into the company she would be working for, she makes a fool of herself. Surprisingly she gets the job, but along with that she learns all kinds of new things about herself.
I loved this book!! It was such a good storyline and the spice was amazing! I loved watching Ellie discover herself and having people in her life to back her up along the way. I liked watching Blake learn things about himself and that he could trust again after his past. Overall it was an amazing read and I can't wait to read the next book!
I love everything Olivia writes, and this book is no exception. Ellie and Blake's first encounter is memorable to say the least. I laughed out loud every time he kept getting in his own way. He fell first and hard, literally (IYKYK), though it took him a second to realize it. Ellie's naivete was a fresh position in romance, explained by her upbringing as the adopted daughter to overly cautious parents. I admired her determination to make it in the big world after being cloistered her entire life. Watching him support her wishes and aspirations without taking over was genuinely heartwarming. An easy five stars.
@ospringauthor does it again! This book was the perfect introduction to the Devlin brothers. Blake and Ellie’s story was a perfect workplace, forbidden romance. Their relationship was electric, but also so much more than the physical side. They both brought out the best of each other in both personal and professional ways.
I also loved the way that friends from past books are woven into this story. It’s always great to see old characters colliding in new books.
Ellie (Eleanor) Lewis and Blake Devlin are the quintessential employee boss, age-gap romance. I’d almost call them enemies to lovers, except they were never enemies, but Blake had strong feelings about her lack of competency.
Loved the chemistry between the two from the beginning. And honestly, Ellie’s naïveté and the entire first chapter with the ‘lipstick’ actually had me laughing out loud.
The story moves along enough to keep the reader engaged, and the book delivers on all the feels, with a well earned happy ending for Blake and Ellie.
What a fun ride. This story was full of exciting characters and lots of sex positivity. I loved reading about the growth of Blake and Ellie, plus their chemistry was amazing. I loved the friendships Ellie developed and the relationship between Blake and his brothers. This was my first time reading a book by this author, but I had the best time, and I know I will be reading more going forward. Disclaimer: I received an advanced reader copy for an honest review.
