Summary:
The story begins from Hannah's perspective as her polished, seemingly perfect, 'golden' sister, Lilith, returns to their hometown of Simpson Falls. Hannah was always the frightened, younger sister. Nobody believed her. The return of Lilith forces buried secrets and a dark childhood event to resurface.

Opinion:
The book gripped me right at the beginning, keeping me engaged and wanting to find out what really happened over twenty years ago. However, after about thirty-five percent, it turned out that the book is more of a mystery read than a domestic psychological thriller. The are a few secrets that the reader has to keep up with, many people involved and a lot of repetition of how everyone remembers things differently. Personally I got slightly lost along the way. However, things do get cleared towards the end. I hate not finishing a book, as I really want to give each book a chance and I didn't regret finishing it, as the past was uncovered and I got all the answers. Although it wasn't as thrilling as I would have liked but it wasn't bad either.

This book was amazing!!The pacing was so fast that I genuinely didn't want to put it down, and I ended up finishing it the same day I started it. Every chapter left me with even more questions, and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough because I just had to know what was going to happen next. The suspense, and the way everything slowly unraveled kept me glued to the story from beginning to end. This was one of those books that makes you forget about everything else around you because you're so invested in the characters and the mystery. If you're looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat and make "just one more chapter" impossible, this is definitely one to pick up. I absolutely loved it!

Everyone loves Hannah’s sister, Lilith. I wouldn’t wish Lilith on anybody. She was mean and seemed to live to torment Hannah. Lilith did things, and nobody believed Hannah when she tried to tell someone. Now grown up, Hannah works at the school as a counsellor. Lilith has just returned to town and stirs things up right away. Hannah has PTSD or something related to Lilith’s meanness. She is hypervigilant. Lilith starts playing her little mind games. This is a great psychological thriller that I could not put down.

A creepy psychological thriller built around family secrets, buried memories, long-buried secrets coming back to haunt people and the unsettling feeling that everyone else knows something you don’t. Lilith seems perfect to everyone in town, but Hannah remembers a very different version of her sister.

As pieces of the past begin resurfacing, the mystery surrounding what happened twenty-one years ago slowly comes together. The clues, missing records, and childhood memories create an atmosphere of growing unease as Hannah tries to figure out who she can actually trust. 🖤🔍🕯️

This was a suspenseful thriller that had family secrets, hidden past events and haunting notes in the present. This story brings all the great twists that come from what you thought was hidden and done. This was a great depiction of a sisters struggle in relationship and truth that keeps you turning the pages wanting to finish this book.

The sister's Lilith and Hannah have always had a path, one that was hurtful to the youngest, Hannah, and Lilith was cruel to her sister and always made it seem like she was the innocent child. Hannah grows up with a strong way of protecting the child being bullied as a counselor at the local grade school. Lilith became a lawyer and stayed away for years. But that all changed when she breezed back to the town. A well-written storyline, great character's, and plenty twists. A good story!

Of course growing up there is one sister that every one loves and de totes on absoluletly thinks they are an angel. Then there is the other one who well not so much.....

Now 21 years later and Liliath is back and someone knows the truth about what happened.

Will Hannah dig up the truth or will she just make the town believe she is the bad child.

Full of twists and turns

Blew my mind! Family secrets, invalid memories, missing information and serious fallout. Two sisters, one is toxically manipulative, one who feels “ not seen”. A father who did what he thought was right which validated the manipulative sister and further damaged the other. Left me feeling one of the sisters might just be a sociopath.

this was a definite page turner. So suspendful, one minute i thought i knew but turns out i knew nothing!!! Devoray Camp is an amazing story teller and I'm really getting into this style of writing.

Clearly written with ai assistance

The cadence, the wording, the pace. Clearly ai. 2 stars since the storyline was ok. I would not recommend to anyone
