One hasty wedding. One Christmas house party. And two newlyweds who haven't the faintest idea what they've gotten themselves into.
Lady Phoebe Greenborough needs a husband. Preferably one with a respectable name, a comfortable income, and no objections to marrying a woman whose family fortune has all but vanished. Unfortunately, such gentlemen are in rather short supply.
Frederick Yardley, Viscount Weymouth, needs a wife. Immediately. Unless he marries before the end of Christmastide, his father intends to select a bride for him. And Freddie has absolutely no intention of leaving such an important decision in his father's hands.
The solution? Marry each other, of course.
It's a perfectly sensible arrangement. Or it would be, if they weren't immediately swept off to a bustling Yorkshire Christmas house party, where meddlesome relatives, festive adventures, and the occasional shared glance make maintaining a marriage of convenience increasingly difficult.
Between snowball fights, Christmas traditions, and far too much time in each other's company, Freddie and Phoebe begin to suspect that the person they married might be considerably more appealing than they anticipated.
But when an unexpected accusation threatens their fledgling marriage, they'll have to decide whether to retreat to the safety of their original arrangement or risk their hearts on something neither dared hope for.
After all, Christmas is a season for miracles. And perhaps a marriage made for convenience can become a love worth keeping.
I absolutely loved this story! So good! This is the 5th book of the series. It can be read as a standalone. I love Marriage of Convenience stories and this one is set at Christmas time and there is a house party! Loved it! Freddie and Pippy are great characters. I enjoyed watching them turn their marriage into a love match! And of course all the Christmas activities throughout. I particularly liked the snowball fight scene. I felt bad for how Freddie’s father treated Pippy. I liked Freddie’s sisters being a part of the story and their interactions. Overall, a great story and I recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
4.5 stars: The entire time through this series, I've been wondering about how this couple's marriage of convenience came about, so I was super excited for this book! I wasn't sure how I felt about the nickname he calls her, because it felt so odd, but I got used to it through the book. It was really fun to watch their relationship progress. There were some situations that felt a little silly, and I really just wanted them to go somewhere and talk to their spouse, but I had such a nice time reading this overall!
Thank you to the author for the ARC; all opinions are my own.
An entertaining read. A woman who has just discovered her family is financially ruined. A man who is threatened with an arranged marriage. Both need a wedding soon. The simple solution, get married two problems solved with one quick wedding. Neither expected to marry for love, so no problem. But as they are forced to spend time together at a house party, they make discoveries about themselves and each other. But can they survive an attack on their marriage itself? I received an early copy and this is my honest review.
This book was a delight to read and sink myself into the feelings of Christmas in regency England. I really felt like I was eavesdropping into the story and cheering it along. Moments of humour and lighthearted romance filled my cup up.
Freddie and Phoebe turn up to the house party with the news that they are married - a surprise for everyone. But what else are you to do when your father tells you to marry someone or he will choose the bride - and you can't have that! Phoebe found herself in a tight spot - about to be sent away to become a governess in Scotland - as the family finances get tighter and tighter. Meeting an old acquaintance for both of them set the scene for an unexpected wedding but there wasn't really any plans for what happens next. And is a house party the best place to start married life?
I loved this marriage of convenience story and the delight Freddie takes in thwarting his father's wishes. It was a story I had wondered about throughout the rest of the series and I wasn't sure how it would all work out but this book filled in all the gaps with a beautiful story of romance, fun, snowball fights and the 'joys' of family.
I read this book really quickly and didn't really want the story to end because with the end of this book is the end of the house party too. This series has been so fun to read and all the authors have done a stellar job of twining their stories together to create a rich feeling of being at the house party myself.
This part of the multi author series Belles of Christmas House Party. I think this is the final book, but it is the first one I've read. I think it works well as a standalone. I am sure I'll enjoy seeing the connections with the other books when I read them. It is a kisses only Regency romance.
I love marriage of convenience stories and liked how this one played out as well. I really enjoyed the interaction Pippy had with Freddie's sisters. I think the decorating contest was my favorite part.
The last chapter or so didn't seem to flow with the rest of the story to me. That ending was weird. I feel like I missed something that was thrown at me at the end. It all worked out though. There were also what seemed to me to be an excessive amount of "luds" and "lawks" and similar expressions. But overall, I enjoyed the book.
I was given the opportunity to read an advanced digital copy of this book. I am leaving an honest review.
A sweet, well crafted story! In the first chapters we meet the captivating main characters, Phoebe (Pippy) and Freddie. Both are in need of a solution to their troubling problems and a marriage of convenience seems the right choice. While spending the Christmas season at a house party, they have an opportunity to get to know each other better. They participate in many festive activities — decorating competitions, ice skating, snowball fights, parlor games, and a Christmas ball — which create some funny moments. Pippy tries to win over Freddie’s family while Freddie plays to win Pippy’s heart. Cute, clean regency romance.
I received an early copy of this story. A positive review was not required.
Sweet story but if lack of communication tropes bother you, prepare yourself well. I enjoyed the story overall. I haven't read a marriage of convenience trope lately so it was fun to read that one. I would have loved to have seen them try to communicate earlier in the story. Maybe an interruption preventing truths being told, or badly explained feelings? Something to show at least an attempt. But still, I enjoyed the story.
I love this author’s books! This story is a dual POV, no-spice Regency Romance. I really enjoyed it and found it easy to read and follow along. The story is fun and entertaining with everything going on in their lives.
This book is part of a MAS and it appears the other books follow other characters that are mentioned in the book. I am definitely planning on looking up those other books!
