Exciting first volume and introduction into the series. While the story suffers from confusing panelling layouts (an over dose of two page spreads is to blame here), Andrasofsky delivers an action packed first volume. That being said, these characters have only just begun their development and would like to see them fleshed out more in further volumes.
Repeating a little of what was in edition 0, Captain Canuck number 1 starts off in the middle of the action. This is only the first in a series, so it is also left to be continued. Much of the title character's team is introduced. The only thing that might throw a reader off, is if they are not aware that there was more than one Captain Canuck. The book contains a second story about a different Captain Canuck. Issue number 0 contains the information in the Captain Canuck Case Files.
