L. Ron Hubbard is universally acclaimed as the single most influential author and humanitarian of this modern age. His definitive works on the mind and spirit—comprising over 350 million copies in circulation and more than 40 international bestsellers—have resulted in a legacy benefiting millions and a movement spanning all cultures.
This book is an excellent biographical overview of L. Ron Hubbard's life. The cover shot is a self portrait, as many photos are in this book. The book is very handsome on the shelf.
This book is a summary or overview really of the other 15 books in the series, which probe deeper into the different professional pursuits of L. Ron Hubbard, such as writing or photography. I prefer the others because I just like knowing more, but this is perfect for a first look for those curious or with no acquaintance.
I appreciate that most of the articles are quote and writing of Mr. Hubbard himself with excellent editorial narration which provides the backdrop and setting for those writings.
This book is designed more for library use being very sturdy and with no dust jacket, but I have found it worth owning personally and got my first set full price from the publisher.
The quality of production in this book actually makes the full price remarkable cheap for what you get in terms of artistry and production value with it's beautiful glossy paper like a photography or art book would have. It's not a dry ugly thing. Copiously artistic on every page.
This book is strictly propaganda propagated by the cult of Scientology. It would be comparable to Stalin's profile written by the Communist Party. They might forget to mention he killed 10 million people.
"LRH, A Profile" is likewise bereft of pertinent facts. If you want pertinent facts, see "Bare Faced Messiah" or "A Piece of Blue Sky". This disgusting cult is incapable of telling the truth about their founder, their disconnection policy, or even their strange cosmology. The only reason this book was published was to be used as a fundraising tool shaming their members to buy copies for themselves and libraries.
I bought this book because I was curious about this man called L. Ron Hubbard. I had heard so many positive things about him in the past, about how he had worked out methods and tools by which a person could change his life without drugs and psychiatry. Now that I have read the book, I can appreciate what a natural genius L. Ron Hubbard was and am in awe of the extent of his knowledge and the manner in which he was able to research and document his findings in a way that any everyday man can learn and apply to his own life. This is an incredibly fascinating read.
Wow...ummm...so this happened. Oh, and scientology (stop giggling!) Was started by this autistic fellow. Do with this what you will. But ya shouldn't go join his Insane cult.
Once I started reading this book, literally could not put it down. That's how interesting is the book, and, of course, the man. He had loads of talent, ambition, drive, perseverance and knowledge (served his country, became a sailor, writer, musician, film maker, poet, healer, educator, founder of Scientology and Dianetics and also founded The LRH Writers of the Future Award and Illustrators of America Award).
I will not even discuss the volume of books written by LR Hubbard. I truly believe that he was a genius in every sense of the word.
