Love reading these books with my son who enjoys watching and playing the Plants vs. Zombies game. He gets a kick out of the different characters, especially the plants.
Huge blinking neon caveat: I am not the target audience for this comic. I've played Plants vs. Zombies a few times but I tend to get bored with most of those kinds of games after a couple of months. I doubt many non-players will pick this up, and I normally wouldn't bother, but I needed something to read and my second grader left it in the car.
And it was okay! Funny enough, with humor in the same vein as The Powerpuff Girls, I think. It's a silly story with easy-to-follow plot and panels, and the art's great, a good match for the story. It helps to know a little about how Plants vs. Zombies (the game) works but I think most kids who have an interest in the story but haven't played the game would be able to catch on.
So only two stars for me because it's not really my thing, but if my seven-year-old were rating this -- based on the time she's put into reading it and the number of lines she's had to read aloud because she thought they were so funny -- I think the stars would be way higher.
OMG, "Plants vs. Zombies Volume 3: Bully For You" is like the coolest book ever! 🌻🧟♂️
So, this book is all about Patrice and Nate, who are super brave and follow Crazy Dave everywhere to fight zombies. This time, they go to a really weird college to stop the evil Dr. Zomboss. It's so funny because they have to battle zombies at school, and who wouldn't want to do that? 😂
The best part is the Anti-Bully Squad. They are super awesome and help Patrice and Nate take down the zombies. There are so many cool characters and the drawings are amazing. The zombies look really funny and the plants are super cool. 🌱
There are also extra stories at the end by other artists like Dustin Nguyen, Jennifer Meyer, and Peter Bagge. These stories are really fun too and add more excitement to the book.
I loved this book because it's full of action, funny moments, and really cool illustrations. If you like zombies and plants fighting, you will love this book! I give it 10 out of 10 sunflower seeds! 🌻🌟
I read this for the #GettingGraphic readathon challenge. Definitely a fun little one, I think anyone who has played/liked the game would probably like this, along with anyone who enjoys cutesy/silly comics. Zomboss is back to his usual tricks after zombie college, the kids have to try to foil his plot to take over neighborville.
This appears to be from the boxed set hardcover collection so in addition to the main story it had a FBCD comic, and a bunch of short strips (2-3 pages each) from different artists, I just discovered Jennifer L Meyer in a different recent comic read and she had 2 of these latter strips that were totally lovely.
I thought this book truly awful. However, my student LOVED it. He thought it was super great. Comic books really stretch vocab in that they have nonsensical words along with huge vocab words. While the font was so confusing, my student couldn't read many of the small words, he really enjoyed my reading it aloud to him. The book was total nonsense, and the puns were the worst - so bad, I even giggled some. He can't wait to read more. Even though I thought it awful, I am thrilled for something that helps him enjoy books, so I will suffer through it!
Cute, fun, quick little graphic novel. I loved the Plants vs. Zombies game (a little too much if you ask my family), and just LOVE zombies in general, so had to give this a try. Definitely has a juvenile audience appeal, but still a fun time.
This one focused more on the zombie side of the Plants vs. Zombies and it was funny.
Zomboss as a college bully and zombie leader makes his videogame counterpart feel less like an annoying boss and just all around a funny character IMO 😅
This whole book had me laughing out loud. There are so many comical little details hidden through out. I also read Zomboss' voice in a raspy Igor style and it upped the fun element. I recommend doing that.
I couldn't even finish it. I am definitely not the audience for this series. It might have made a difference if I started with the first one, but I doubt it.
Thought this was going to suck, but it was actually very well done. Funny too. The last couple comics in the back were mostly trash, but the main highlight was really good hear.
Plants vs. Zombies odporúčam všetkým krpcom, no a u tých starších to skôr odporúčam len pre fanúšikov hier. https://monicaastray.wixsite.com/moni...
This was a very nice book. It was slightly confusing with the short stories and the main story. It was fun and entertaining. I would recommended for a good laugh.
