Rate this book
One Sexy Slayer. Two Alpha Werewolves. A Dangerously Hot Romance.

When Other World monsters start hunting slayer Benoica "Benie" Dilian, she enlists sexy genius human Ian Arent and hot telepathic werewolf Trace Calder to help find out who is trying to kill Benie--and why.

But as the investigation takes them deep into the Other World community, Benie discovers a dark truth that may well destroy her. Only the love of the two very different men can help her survive and accept her ultimate destiny.

Authors Note: Please be aware that Midnight Shift (Episode Five) is the fifth and final episode in a hot new Shapeshifter/ Paranormal Romance Ménage serialized novel. This is part FIVE of a FIVE part serialized story. In other words, it is episodic, contains cliff hangers, and is not a stand-alone story. It is meant to be read in order of its parts. It does contain explicit M/F/M menage scenes, hot enough to fry eggs and is intended for an adult audience.

About Renee:
USA Today Bestselling author Renee George writes paranormal mysteries and romances because she loves all things whodunit, Otherworldly, and weird. Also, she wishes her pittie, the adorable Kona Princess Warrior, and her beagle, Josie the Incontinent Princess, could talk. Or at least be more like Scooby-Doo and help her unmask villains at the haunted house up the street.

When she’s not writing about mystery-solving werecougars or the adventures of a hapless psychic living among shapeshifters, she is preyed upon by stray kittens who end up living in her house because she can't say no to those sweet, furry faces. (Someone stop telling them where she lives!)

She resides in Mid-Missouri with her family and spends her non-writing time doing really cool stuff...like watching TV and cleaning up dog poop.

ALL HAIL THE QUEEN !!!
Holy Mother of all the goddesses! And the heart-pounding thrill ride continues!!! I absolutely love it! Renee George has dazzled her readers yet again with Part Five, the final book in her amazing new hit series, Midnight Shift. Yes, I said series which in this instance means multiple installments and cliffhangers but it is so worth the wait! George's exceptional talent, incredible imagination and unique style never fail to tease, tantalize, and entertain her readers. The story is original, imaginative, action packed, exciting, thrilling, riveting, compelling, addictive, enticing, romantic, seductive and steamy. The dialog is smart, exceptionally well written and flows effortlessly. The characters are imaginative, captivating, engaging, intriguing, sexy as sin and utterly irresistible. The story draws you in but it's the characters that grab your attention, capture your heart and hold you prisoner from beginning to end. If you love fantasy, adventure, suspense, action, plot twists galore, paranormal romance and some good old fashioned steamy sex, then this is the series for you. Benoica Dilian is a hunter - a slayer - a warrior and she has the scars to prove it. Her body tells a gruesome story - the story of her life. She hunts and kills monsters - otherworlders. Unfortunately, be it a gift or a curse, she is also one of them - a chameleon able to change her body's appearance enabling her to effectively conceal herself. Benie is definitely very good at her job, maybe too good, because now someone or something wants her dead and they are sending rogue trackers to kill her. She needs all the help she can get to stay alive including help from her cute, genius best friend scientist and roommate, Ian Arent who now turns into a wolf and hunky, telepathic alpha wolf shifter, Trace Calder. And she has the hots for both! She wants them both! She needs them both! She has to have them both or she will simply die! Literally! Oh my! Last week she was just a very single bad-ass monster slayer and now, she's a baby mama with not one but two sexy mates; and the three lovers are now a ruling triune and she's a queen! What? Oh yeah, she's the heir to the throne of Caledon and Garrick, her dear old Dad wants her dead! Huh? What the heck? Garrick is holding Trace prisoner and is using unspeakable methods of torture to try to break him but Trace would rather die than betray his beautiful Benie. He can only wish for death to soon find him. But never fear, a very now pregnant Benie, her best friend and lover, Ian Arent, and her loyal, merry band of other worlders aided by her Uncle Myron Gray and the assassin Shade are determined to rescue Trace. But will they be too late??? Will Trace survive the poison now flowing through his veins? Can Benie survive the toxic effects of her simultaneous pregnancies? Huh? What does that even mean? My lips are sealed! Will Benie and her two devoted mates survive to become the ruling Triune of Caledon? Oh my! The suspense builds and the plot thickens! Enemies are revealed and big, big secrets disclosed! And just who is Semina Thames Calder and what role did she play in Trace's past? I'll never tell! I guess you'll just have to read the book. Oh my goodness gracious! Buckle up my lovelies! What a wild ride! No spoilers from me but I will say this....Beautiful, sassy chameleon hunter-check! Handsome, hunky wolf shifter with telepathic abilities-check! Super sexy and super smart geek scientist who is now also a wolf shifter-check! Menagerie of captivating supernaturals-check! Action, danger, drama, adventure, suspense, plot twists, evil villains and secrets galore-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, sweet romance and steamy dreamy sex-you bet! Hubba! Hubba! I can hardly wait to see what new adventure Renee has in store for us next Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

Some things defied explanation.

This is a line from this story - but it also perfectly & aptly describes this amazing story that Renee has written! HOLY SHIFT!! What a fantastic ending! I am completely surprised & blown away by the depths to which Renee has gone with not only the ending, but with this serial storyline as a whole! There are so many unique qualities in here to tell you about that I wouldn't even know where to begin! Good thing I try to never give anything away nor to have spoilers in my reviews, although it does make it difficult to tell you just why I love this story so much! I can honestly say that I have NEVER read anything even remotely close to Midnight Shift!! And that is the main reason why you should read this story as well! Of course, it is also exactly why I love Renee's stories!! I was so shocked when this happened, when that didn't happen, I cried at a few parts in this last part alone, never mind how many times I did through the entire story! I loved how quickly this story grabs you and holds you until the very end. The mix of abilities & people - human and other - is astounding in itself, but to have it all come together to create this amazing, wondrous story that is so entertaining, is just beyond description! There is so much emotion and depth to this last part! I was shocked time and again with what seemed like every time I turned the page! There are numerous surprises, things I would never have even thought of, let alone expected to find in any story, yet it ALL happens in this one and it all flows so perfectly!! I went back and read this entire serial one part after another as soon as I got this last episode, partly to refresh my memory but mostly because it IS UTTERLY INGENIOUS & EXCEPTIONALLY BRILLIANT!!! This is definitely one story that I will be reading over & over many times! In fact I can’t wait to be able to do just that…again!! So if you are looking for something to read that you can get absorbed into right away, that is so engrossing that you notice nothing going on around you, that is so creative and unique, and is something WORTH reading then this is THE story for you!!!! This is the perfect example of just how astronomically talented Renee George truly is!

Ok...just ok.. Might have enjoyed it better whole...

I don't think I would have "LOVED" this story ,regardless ( just didn't do it for me) but I would have enjoyed it a LOT more as a " whole" book and not broken up needlessly like crumbs in a forest... They are are soo young and though they're rather strong mentally and emotionally their all really immature in the whole she loves you best and maybe me not at all ,BS ,instead of just trusting Beanie and trying to talk to her and work things out...
I Hate this whole immature bullshit that's it's better to just act like an ass and have a pity party and be a jerk than just talk to the woman I love and sorta things out, which really never truly happens, drama and dang r keep coming and talking never really happens or if it does just enough to patch things up for the moment til the crisis is averted... I never really connected with these characters and honestly it never felt like they did themselves... All though out the story there's either jealousy, or self pity or one up man-ship or something and just when they have a chance to maybe discuss something all Hell breaks loose, I was I supposed to get to know then when honestly, honestly they BARELY had time to get to know each other ....
And I love a good menage where the men aren't physically related and yet could love and know they were being loved equally by a woman in a happy M/F/M menage, I soo sick of all the mmf ones out there acting like the only way for a menage etc to work is if all three or more are linked romantically and sexually , I'd like to say this one showed that but we don't really get to see them really working well together as a true team til the Very End and the were into the epilogue with a year passed and their off to shower together and the end for them...
But I know it can be done ( not same but just look at sister wives) if six women and one man can love each other as a family but only want one ( the women)romantically and sexually why can't it work in reverse? With at least two men and one woman ? Ok sure it's a personal fantasy ( me and two sexy men who want only me romantically and sexually ( coz I DONT SHARE,selfish but I know what I want ) ;) and I know it's as likely to happen as me waking up a Tiger shifter tomorrow but that's what stories like this are for dreams/fantasies you have that have only be lived out in a book...
Anyway not a bad story, but was not helped with all the chopped up bits in a serial and would have been more fun if they could have been a bit more smart and mature and just love Benie and left the she loves him/needs him more pity parties at home, lots very dumb mistakes were made because that BS and Ian supposed loved her for at least 10+ years yet NEVER trusted her enough to stop hiding research behind her back, love + devotion - trust = what exactly ?
Interesting concept, deeply flawed characters that we never really got to see grow and change just drama, drama, drama the miracle growed together in "happy family " in epilogue at the end...
Not sure if I'll delete, but can't really see myself reading it again...

I just was disappointed. I loved the first four episodes but this one was kind of a let down. It just was too rushed for me. Good story just needed more development.
