CHAPTERS: 12

PAGES: 215

GENRE: Non-fiction

REVIEW

This book entitled “Welcome Holy Spirit” is incredible. It's a best-selling book written by a renowned author. Benny Hinn is a recognised and respected pastor, teacher, healing evangelist.

The book centres on helping its readers discover the true power of the Holy Spirit.

Moreover, the author started by sharing with the readers an incidence that took place on his crusade, following a story about his childhood and how the Holy Spirit transformed his life.

He went to further to describe the personhood of the Holy Spirit and his mode of operation. Benny Hinn discussed heavily on the different names associated with the Holy Spirit using biblical references.

The narrated how he met and married his wife and the naming of his children. He used this illustration to explain the different titles of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the voice of God we hear. He is the manifestation of God to our heart. ~ Benny Hinn

He described the four specific ways the Holy Spirit operates in the heart of the unbeliever. According to the author, there are seven things that occur when the Holy Spirit transforms you.

He used a scenario of a priest who was reluctant to partake in healing the sick, but after the persuasion he began to heal the sick and the Holy Spirit used him greatly to his amazement. The author pointed out that God doesn't need your ability, instead he needs your availability. More so, he outlined how the Holy Spirit transforms lives.

In conclusion, he wrote several stories of people whose lives were transformed by the Holy Spirit.

I love how the author used practical life examples to pass across his message to the readers.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to build an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit.

As I picked up this book from the thrift store bookshelf I knew it would be a For Heretical Research Only reading project for the month. Benny Hinn has a long history of heresy: false healings, false signs and wonders, lies, false teachings (like nine persons in the Godhead, Jesus becoming Satan on tge cross and going to Hell to be born again, etc.) But much if the book was surprisingly Bubkical and orthodox. When he sticks to Scripture, that happens. But Scripture is never enough for him. So Benny talks of visions, signs and wonders, miraculous deliverance, and direct revelation from God. Of seeking the Holy Spirit he says "you must have a passion for His power". That was Simon the Magician's problem! He begged to know the Holy Spirit like Kathyn Kuhlman did, but John 15:26 says the Holy Spirit gives testimony of Christ, not Himself. Salvation, God, and Jesus were not enough for him. He continually cites his experience as proof of things existing even if the Bible seems to contradict it. He often misrepresents Scripture and adds his own comments as if they were part of the Biblical narrative. He explained why he used his coat in such an odd way as a prop for healing: citing Elijah, Elisha, the Lord Jesus, and Paul as doing similar things. At the end of the book he recounts a plane crash in 1983 in which he said God told him all would be well because "God is not done with him yet". Oh, how important is Benny Hinn! In this same section he says he "did not have a scratch" on him yet the sheriff's report says he had lacerations and confusions and was hospitalized and in shock. See
https://www.apologeticsindex.org/h02.... . Why would Benny lie? Does the Holy Spirit need his lies to be promoted or is the Word of God enough? I'll stick with God's Word!

Reading pastor Benny's books about the Holy Spirit has really brought me closer to understanding the person of the Holy Spirit. I even got to experience the electrifying effect of the presence of the Holy Spirit once while reading "welcome Holy Spirit" . It was an amazing feeling... looking forward for more exciting experiences 🙌.

Benny Hinn, once again makes a relationship with the Holy Spirit a big deal. It absolutely is. Hinn, using the Bible and personal experience, talks about the Spirit with an excitement that is genuine and contagious.

Thank you, Benny Hinn.

The Holy Spirit's information superhighway is limitless. It stretches from here to heaven-and beyond. He has much more to give than we can fathom. one of many quotes from the book.

Everyone needs this book, go get it, and encounter him for yourself.

Thank you, Benny Hinn.

The Holy Spirit proclaims the greatness of our Lord Jesus. Our focus then is Jesus but this book seems to be the other way around. Be aware and careful about that.

Very interesting to see his relationship with the Holy Spirit but there were some key ideas that I didn’t fully agree with. Really encouraging read though.

This one didn't hit me as much as Good Morning, Holy Spirit did. It is however, still a good book to get to know the Holy Spirit some more and what he can do for you.

I was not familiar with Benny Hill and read this book with an open mind. I then read a researched review that stated that all healings have either had an explanation or that they did not last. I also looked up Kathryn Kuhlman and thought that her strategic "I would die a thousand death's " was more to put foremost in our mind that faith healers do not want the credit, taking away from focusing on the truth of the healing. I believe that spontaneous healing is possible without the medium of a faith healer. We all have had cuts and bruises that heal spontaneously, why not other more serious ailments? I must say that "Welcome Holy Spirit" is an inspiring book that led me to a deeper appreciation of the Holy Spirit

anyway, the book is awesome! a whole new take on the Holy Spirit! Pastor Benny Hinn shares his own experiences with his Dear Holy Spirit, and tells of the things revealed to him about the Holy Spirit.
"...the Holy Spirit is a peson. He's not a force or an influence..."

I'd love to have a 3.5 star... The author offers both practical and experiential insight into the Holy Spirit. I appreciate the author's unique background, and how he shares his own journey towards embracing God's Spirit as an individual being rather than a concept. My only possible concern is whether he shares a sometimes generalized view of how the Spirit will work based on his own interactions. But this definitely resonated with me.
