Some decisions change more than history, and for one archangel, Chamuel, he lives with the heartache of that choice. Sent to Earth to find out information, he encounters a gorgeous man who distracts him from his task and ends up being his normal grouchy, egotistical self.
Anastasius Yale fought to stay at the estate where his brother was rescued to. Not related by blood, their bond is just as strong, especially after losing their parents. So when a narcissistic archangel shows up demanding answers and throwing salt in old wounds, he has no problem telling the guy off and hopes never to see him again.
Then again even a psychologist needs a guardian angel to heal a wounded heart.
Actions have consequences though, and when rules aren’t explained first, a night of passion ends with an unknowing pledge and tough choices ahead. Can Anastasius look past the archangel and simply see a man he might be able to give his heart to or will he let his old resentments banish Chamuel to a life without him?
Really good story about acceptance and love and coming together. Story flows smoothly through back story, more strickly just the couples now it seems. (I think this was the one many reviews were negative about a rant within book of privacy/publishing? I didn't read anything like that so maybe edited?)
This is one of the stories i loved so much, I wish it had been longer. Our couple consists of human psychologist, Ana, and archangel of justice, Chamuel. Excellent story of acceptance.

Summary:
This series has entertained many different unique individuals dealing with very dangerous and life threatening situations. This story did an incredible job looking the emotional and stressful lives of Anastasius, or Ana, and Chamuel. Ana fought to keep his brother, Jarvis, from the moment their parents died to fighting to stay with him when the angels came to rescue him, a saved soul. That last fight didn't endear him to the angels and even after working with many of the people in the compound as psychologist. Chamuel was an Archangel who worked a gatekeeper for heaven and over the centuries he has seen many of the worse humanity has to offer leaving him with a low opinion of them. God has a new plan for Chamuel when he gifts him with a mate, Ana, and all the human emotions that goes along with being human. Imagine feeling emotions not gradually, but all in a rush? That would have overwhelmed anyone and it wasn't a surprise when he overreacted to Ana. Ana has his own issues with loss that he had to suppress in the fight to keep Jarvis with him. The emotional upheaval Ana and Chamuel go through as the book unfolded and their struggle with their feelings for each other made this a fascinating and riveting story.
I really enjoyed this book--basically, I couldn't put it down. This story does not have battles or intrigue in it. It is a story about finding out that your mate is an angel--and, hey, you're human and have a mate! Anastasius is a therapist who came to the school with his younger, adopted, brother. He had to fight to stay with him and gave up everything to be there. Chamuel is a grumpy archangel. They are both surprised to learn they are mates. I really liked Chamuel after he got his humanity--it was great seeing the archangels stand up for their brother when he needs them. Ana is an interesting character as well. He lost his parents when he was 17 and has had to fight to keep his younger brother and he hasn't dealt with their parents both dying at the same time. As usual, the background characters are the cast that we know from previous stories and we are getting more information about them as well. It is an interesting story--full of fear of commitment, misunderstandings, and love.
Chamuel has been among the humans that are tainted for too long to realize that the rest are good. Ana fought to go to the compound with his brother and he has helped many in the compound come to terms with their pasts and their futures. His first meeting with Chamuel was explosive and ended badly. With some intervention, they learn to see things in different ways and how to communicate.
As usual, this book was interesting, and entertaining. Love the cover!
This is one of my favourites of the series. It didn't really follow the same "find the mate", mate has issues, a misunderstanding occurs, they kiss and make up. The end. It's more sassier and lively.
