A misdiagnosis, a night of passion with the boss, and a Bratva Pakhan with a secret baby.

I’ll start by saying: Blimey.
This is an intense, dramatic and gripping dark mafia romance novel set in the Bratva, packed with the medical error trope, a billionaire boss, the boss and his employee, a one-night stand, a secret pregnancy and a super-ultra-mega possessive and overly jealous hero (wink, wink – which treats us to some highly steamy moments; keep some holy water and vomit-inducing pills to hand, you might need them) who’ll have to beg for forgiveness.

The story follows the virginal Genevive, the protagonist, when, after receiving a false diagnosis that she has only two months to live, she decides to pluck up the courage to kiss her untouchable and fearsome boss in a stuck lift, which leads to a very intense night in which she gives him her V-Card.
After that night of passion, she tries to leave to die in peace, but discovers that the clinic was wrong and that she is not going to die.

However, her brother’s debts drag her into the underworld of the Russian mafia, where the ruthless Pakhan who buys her debt is none other than Kazimir Ivanovich, her former boss.

Trapped as his personal assistant in a gilded cage and scarred by an apparent betrayal, she decides to flee from the most dangerous man in the city… taking her unborn baby with her.

What begins as a debt collection and relentless pursuit turns into a game of loyalty, painful misunderstandings and a desperate escape to protect her unborn child.
The story is full of drama, the dynamics of captivity, Kazim’s intense jealousy and thrilling erotic moments, without ever resorting to infidelity.

It’s an unmissable gem for fans of dark mafia romance and possessive heroes – you won’t regret it one bit. 1000000/10.

Taken by My Grumpy Pakhan by A. J. Black was a fun, steamy mafia romance with all the drama, danger, and possessiveness I was hoping for. The grumpy pakhan hero definitely lives up to his name, but watching his softer side come out made him even more irresistible. The secret baby element added an emotional layer to the story and created plenty of tension between the characters. I enjoyed the chemistry between the main characters, especially the push-and-pull dynamic as they tried to navigate their complicated situation. There’s plenty of suspense, romance, and possessive mafia-boss energy to keep the pages turning. Overall, Taken by My Grumpy Pakhan was another quick, steamy romance that fans of mafia romance should enjoy.

A false medical report has Genevieve in the wrong elevator and doing things she would never normally have done. The kiss takes Kazimir by surprise, but he soon takes over and it starts their path. I loved the way this story evolves and how their relationship changes their lives. Kudos to Nikolai because he plays an important part in helping Kazimir see his faults. His hilarious commentary was so much fun to read.

Review of an advance copy received from the author.

A delightful story about Genevieve and Kazimir. The moment she is told she doesn't have long to live, she decides to give in to her feelings for her boss. After a steamy night, she finds out that a mistake was made and that wasn't; she also discovers that she is pregnant and that Kazimir is engaged to a Russian Mafia woman. A beautiful romantic story.

She then finds out he's engaged to a Russian mafia woman. Then also finds out she's pregnant. Great story.

Personal Assistant

All it took was one kiss in an elevator to change it all. Genevieve receives some news prompting her to behave a little reckless, including kissing her boss Kazimir and helping her brother out of debt. This story picks up pace and intrigue throughout every chapter. It was an exciting read with moments that were emotionally charged. I could not put it down.

Very Good

A little too much shopping and gossiping but an overall good story.
The meltdown of Kazimir's high walls was satisfactory.
Genevieve was stronger than most heroines and that was refreshing.
