An impressive collection of grammar points throughly arranged by use cases (reason, presentation, etc) , finishing with intensive reviews, common misconceptions in Japanese Grammar and the unavoidable practice tests.
By far the best hardcore Grammar practice you need for passing the JLPT. However, I would daringly say that it goes beyond that, as I am sure this book will be my companion for the years to come in my improvement of daily Japanese.
One criticism though, for the level of questions it entails, the answer sheet leaves a lot to be desired. It would have been pretty useful if the authors provide the correct order for the ‘文書の組み立てる’ exercises.
Aside from that, it is a must for all JLPT N2 applicants and Grammar lovers in general. You are brave if you go with this as your first material to study for the exam; I would recommend trying the “Sou Matome N2 Grammar” or “Try N2 Grammar” book first.

While I still haven't figured out the best/ most effective way to study grammar, this is hardly the textbook's fault. All necessary grammar points are organized by categories that make it easy to connect them together and place them in context. The explanations are simple, easy to understand and sufficient in most cases. There are plenty example sentences and practice exercises which help understand the meaning even if you didn't get it right away.
After the individual grammar points, there are several sections that encourage you to use the grammar in context and offer a more global explanation, which I found very useful.
