Blüdhaven's haunted past could destroy its future.
A new era begins here for Blüdhaven and its hero, Nightwing!
The city’s new superhighway was meant to be its lifeline but has instead become a hotbed of strange and violent incidents. Nightwing’s investigation into this haunted road drives him toward a tragedy from which he may never recover—and sends him looking for answers in Blüdhaven’s tragic past. While restlessly hunting for clues in local ghost stories, a deadly standoff besieges Blüdhaven Bridge, and Dick Grayson might not be in the best state of mind to tackle it. Luckily, the World’s Greatest Detective has come calling. And just as the mystery cannot possibly get complicated enough, a certain Titan redhead also makes an appearance to seek some long overdue closure.
Superstar artist Denys Cowan joins writer Dan Watters for a supernatural noir tale of urban folklore in a city where the unavenged dead will stay silent no longer.
Dan Watters is a UK based comic book writer. His first book, LIMBO, was released through Image Comics in 2016. He has since written THE SHADOW at Dynamite Comics, and ASSASSIN’S CREED and WOLFENSTEIN for Titan Comics.
Currently he is writing the relaunch of LUCIFER for Vertigo’s Sandman Universe, as well as DEEP ROOTS for Vault Comics. Deeply rooted in London Town, and firmly of the Devil's party.
In these collected comics the city’s new superhighway seems to have a lot of negative impact on the people of Blüdhaven, especially when Nightwing is involved in a car crash killing 9 people. He literally goes on a witch hunt, because that's who distracted him and caused the accident, but we're left at the end of the story with an opening into who she might be and what the new mayor's true intentions are. Another mayor for this city, who doesn't seem to have only positive intentions and good vibes about him. A shame that Dick's sister left the city so suddenly a few volumes earlier. The artwork in this one also takes on a darker format and I quite like it, but I miss Babs and some lightheartedness which brings out Nightwing's best side in my opinion!
holy shit, this was almost PERFECT. the art is fantastic, all of it, the story is interesting and dick's character is showing more of the expected depth that we know and love. I enjoyed this one a lot!!
