Overall this was an enjoyable box set full of fun and daring characters that had smarts and a little bit of sass. The whole set included different types of YA books from contemporary to paranormal. If you're looking for an entertaining adventurous read for the young at heart check these stories out!

KATE UNMASKED
(3/3.5 stars)

An okay story for me. I loved the mystery and trying to figure out who Katie's birth parents were.
The journey was full of adventure, suspense, action and hope. But for me, it was a little disappointing.
As for the characters, I had mix feelings about the main character, at times she was okay and other times I hated her. I won't give away any spoilers but how she treated some of the other characters really bugged me.
Duran turned out to be my favorite and for me the best character in the book.
I'm not sure where the journey goes from here but this first book did peek my curiosity.

THE DARK MOTH SOCIETY - ALICE
(4.5 stars)

This was the first book I read in the Blood and Snow series and I loved it. In this short little episode, it focused on a badass half demon warrior named Alice. I can't wait to learn more about her and the mysterious demon fighter named Kade as it left off in a cliffhanger. Both were intriguing and easy to like characters. The plot was paced well although fast and short. I was pulled in and can't wait to read more. I'll definitely be picking up more of these books!

WITNESS
(3 stars)

To be honest I'm not sure how I felt about this one. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it. The pace was good and the short chapters made the book fly by but I was left disappointed in the end. I was hoping for something more to happen or for things to take a different turn but it never did.

COUNTER CLOCKWISE
(3.5/4 stars)

Having never read any other books in the series, I had no problem being sucked into this one. I didn't need to know everything that happened in past books to enjoy this one but I'm definitely curious and will probably go back and read the series so I can discover more about Nate and Casey. I loved the whole time travel thing and all the drama that played out. I can't wait to discover what happens next.

PAXTON PRIVATE INVESTIGATIONS
(5 stars)

Phenomenal! I absolutely loved this book! From page one I had a difficult time putting this book down. I had to force to stop reading so I could get some sleep!
The book had everything I was looking for; suspense, action, mystery, drama, and a little romance. The pacing of the story was great and the characters were fantastic. I loved their unique personalities and how real they were. Of course my favorite was Hearst but the other characters were just as enjoyable to read.
I can't wait to check out more books from this author and the next book in the series is a definite read for me. If you're looking for a fun adventure-filled YA detective book be sure to check this one out!
OF ICE AND SNOW
(4 stars)

A great introduction to what looks to be an exciting series. I can't wait to read the other books in the series to see what happens. The story was paced well and I loved the action. In the beginning, it was a little hard for me to get into but once I did I was hooked. I also enjoyed the two main characters Otec and Matka.

THE SOUL'S AGENT
(3.5 rating)

I thoroughly enjoyed the unique concept with death and demons. The story was paced well and the action was awesome! I love when a woman can hold her own and kick butt and Navi definitely could. The only thing I had a slight problem with in the book was the whole relationship/non relationship thing with Alec. I understood it to a degree but wished the characters would've reacted better especially since it was a reoccurring thing. Other than that I enjoyed the story.

THROUGH GLASS
(3/3.5 stars)

It's hard to judge this books since its part of a series that I have yet to read. I liked the glimpse of the world I got. It was creepy and terrifying. I'm curious to know what happened and what happens next. I wish this would've been the first rather than the ninth episode.

SKETCHY LOVE
(3 stars)

This felt like a story I've read before the plot felt similar. Since it felt familiar it was a little hard to enjoy when I kind of knew where the story was going. I was disappointed that it was short and ended on a predictable note I would've like to see something more and different.

FAERIE PRINCE
(4 stars)

I read this book when it first came out since I enjoyed the first one so much. I'm glad the author has the first book free so people can get started and read this one as it should be read in order. I really liked this sequel even though it took a turn that I wasn't expecting. It was paced well and the action was kick ass. We get to see more of the characters and their development. I can't wait to see what's in store for the next book.

THE ACADEMY THE GHOST BIRD SERIES

(3 stars)

I'm not sure what to make of this story yet. I'll admit my curiosity is peeked and I would like to know more. There are a lot of different characters and I hope to learn more about them and this mysterious Academy. The pace was okay but I was a little disappointed I was kind of hoping something more exciting would happen. There's clearly something going on with these guys and I was hoping for more of a hint or something. All and all it was an okay read for me.

SOMETHING ABOUT LOVE
(3.5 stars)

An interesting short story about self discovery. I wasn't used to the writing style as it was something I never read before but after a bit I got used to it and enjoyed it. The story flowed well and the short chapters made it easy to keep reading. I'm not sure how I feel about the relationship part of it but in general I enjoyed the story.

BEHIND THE STARS
(4/4.5 stars)

A captivating scifi adventure. I was hooked from page one becoming fully emerged in the story. The plot was well paced and engaging. The characters were interesting and I found it easy to sympathize with their situation and root for a happy ending. Though, at first, I didn't care for the main character but she quickly grew on me throughout the book.
I loved the high stakes and action that made the story move quickly towards the end.

TAKING THE REINS
(3.5 stars)

A short fun story. There wasn't much that happened and it was more of an introduction to the school and characters. The characters each had their own personalities that made them likable and interesting to read. As for the main character she was smart, fun and sassy. The plot was okay but I was hoping for more in the story and it didn't deliver for me.

Every story and every writing style is so different. It's been fun.

Kate Unmasked - Kate was adopted as a toddler. She longs for information about her birth patents. After a private investigator comes up empty handed, Kate stumbles upon information that changes everything she thought she knew. This was a hard one to get into. As an adoptive parent, I struggled with the angle the author took and the way Kate reacted to her parent's "deception." I felt like there was a lot of trekking and not a lot of showing; it was hard to visualize the story.

Counter Clockwise - Casey is your average girl. Loyal best friend, handsome high school sweetheart. Tight family. Oh, but there is that one thing. About her tripping to the past. This time, things are different and it's a race against the clock to fix everything. This was a fast read that I had a hard time putting down. The end was a total cliffhanger. This was the 5th book in the series. So while I was able to read the story easily enough and enjoy it, I felt like I was missing so much. Great read though!

Witness - Courtney had no idea the cute guy who took her out on a date would turn out to be a murderer. When Courtney accidentally witnesses a murder, and knows the killer, she's thrown into a world of fear, where silence saves lives, and people she cares about are hurt to prove a point. Can Courtney love knowing her every move is bend watched? Or will the guilt of her silence prove more powerful than fear? This was definitely a stress filled book that got my heart pumping. I dint usually love suspense books, but this was a great read! My only complaint was that the ending came way too soon, and I felt danger right around the corner...

Paxton Private Investigations - Townsey is ready to take over the family business and break out add a private investigator. But there's that pesky problem of her being only 17. With the help of Hearst, her gothic hottie friend, she helps a battered woman and her children escape the clutches of a deranged madman. What happens when Townsey turns out to be his next victim? Delicious read with the right amounts of humor, suspense and a dash of romance. Loved it!

Sketchy Love - Fasta has had a rough life. Things are made worse by a crippling need to draw. Images flow through her and and fly onto the page without her command. What do these pictures mean? And who is the boy with the green eyes? Answers come when the new kid at school sets his green eyes on her, and she knows it's him. It's almost as if he's come just for her. But that can't be right...can it? This was an awesome read, and when it was over, I shouted in dismay. I could have read another 200 pages and not been bored! I want to know what happens next! Like, now.

Of Ice and Snow - Otec was never meant to lead. He's awkward and shy. Otec is a throw away soon. He's content to live his summers chasing lambs through the mountains, and hunkering down in the winters with his family, transforming wood into beautiful carved animals. No one sees the details and beauty in the world like he does. No one, except for Matka. The brave and haunted woman the traveling highmen have brought to their borders. Their first encounter trips a series of horrific events that change everything Ortec is and knows. Though the darkness, he'll have to find a light. Can he find it in Matka? This was a gripping tale, full of love and loyalty, bravery and death. There were parts I cried. Though this is technically the first in the series, the books were written out of order. Matka's terror of the fairies makes total sense to me, but it may not make sense to those who haven't read other books in the Fairy Queen series. And if you haven't read then yet, GO READ THEM NOW!!

Through Glass - I literally felt like I'd dropped into the middle of a sci-fi horror action movie, and I had no idea what was going on. The further in I trudged, the more bits I could piece together, but it was frustrating to have to do that. This is a tiny piece of a novella series, so really, it's exactly as I described it. I saw about 20 minutes of the "action scenes" and had no background plot to go with it. So here goes my thoughts: based on this "episode," I'd say the series is fascinating. It was well written, though a bit dramatic at times. It was a fast paced, intense read that made my heart pound a bit. It's action packed with plenty of violence, gore, and monsters straight from nightmares.

The Dark Moth Society - Alice is a Dark Moth, half demon, half human. On her 21st birthday, her demon father will come to kill her. Alice must train to kill him before he had a chance to hurt her. That's the only way to survive. The other trainees call her the queen of hearts. If only they knew her icy exterior I'd the only way to protect get fragile heart. When mysterious newcomer Kade shows skills and training beyond anything anyone had ever seen, things get interesting. I loved this, but just as it started to "get good," where I hunkered down to really get into it...it ended. This was more like the first five chapters of a novel than a real novella, or even a short story. Super fascinating. I'd love to read more, I just wish it was a little longer.

So far I have only read 2 of the books. I will be reading COUNTER CLOCKWISE very soon! Here are my reviews for those books I have read....

SKETCHY LOVE:
SKETCHY LOVE is a wonderful short read that is perfect for anyone who needs a fantastic read in-between books. What you think is starting out as a contemporary soon turns into something more and something intriguing. It absolutely got my attention from the start.

***
My quickened heartbeat told me that any second she could look up and I'd be caught.
The knowledge grounded me even more.
I needed her to look up. I needed our eyes to meet and for her to see me as not some boy who just showed up out of nowhere.
I needed for her to see me as she once did.
As she always did.

***

I am not going to lie, I could stand for more of Saint and Fasta in my life. They were wonderful characters. And even though this is a short story, I felt I was able to get to know them in a lot of ways. And in some ways there was a mystery still left about them. Definitely leaving them open for more to come, should the author choose to do so. And I really hope she chooses to. They have stories to tell.

Another must read from Felix! I hope you will give SKETCHY LOVE a go. 5 Stars!

THROUGH GLASS:
In less than an hour, the world had fallen apart. I didn't want to think about what they were doing, or who they had killed. I wouldn't think about why they had spared me. I didn't want to think about being left.
About being alone.

***

With less than a month of school left before Alexis graduates, her life is changed forever. Her long time crush/best friend is finally starting to show interest in her. Who knew that the day he confesses his feelings for her the world would all but end and hell would take over?

Give me a minute to dislodge my hammering, stammering heart from my throat. In a matter of minutes I was jolted from a lovey dovey scene into a hot mess of emotions that nearly had me peeing myself. True story. I don't think I have ever been thrown into such a disarray of feelings that quickly before with just a few words. But low and behold, I was and I stayed that way the remainder of the book. And as soon as I finished I had to take a few minutes to compose myself and think about all that happened. What does this mean for Alexis and Cohen? What the heck does this mean for me? Do I want to put myself through this hell the author has now sent the world into? Of course I do. So I went and bought every single volume that is currently out. I ain't stupid. I know great story telling when I see it. And I likes what I sees.

***
Even if I could move, even if I could get away, I had nowhere that I could go that the thing would not find me.
***

I fell for these characters after only just meeting them briefly and knew it was character love at first sight. And then the emotional build up in just a few pages had me instantly hooked to their story. Followed by amazing writing by an author that knows how to draw you in with her words and wake up your imagination....that's what you call a 'Win/Win/Win Situation'. That's what you call one hell of an opening book that is sure to be a phenomenal serial series.

A definite must read for anyone needing their senses jarred and awakened. It is a quick read that will have you immediately seeking out the next one of the series. 5 Creepy and Slightly Romantic stars.

I've only read Sketchy Love by Lila Felix so far and I absolutely loved it! Such a wonderful story about two soulmates who find each other over and over again, only the heroine doesn't seem to remember.

Fasta and Saint. Living their 'lives' through the past thousand years, trying to finally make it right and set their destiny to be together forever. Fasta has an extraordinary talent for drawing. And the boy with the green eyes who mysteriously turns up in most of her work, haunts her. Her need to constantly sketch him in hundreds of scenes to the point of exhaustion at times, is the only thing that seems to soothe her. And when Saint is suddenly the new student at her school, everything starts to fall into place.

Oh my goodness. I am not usually a fan of other world kind of stories but this one had me from the very start. Lila Felix continues to surprise me with her touching and well-written tales that I might not pick up if given the choice. But I've been such a fan of many of her books that I knew I had to read this one as soon as it went live.

As the story comes to a close, there is so much more I'd love to know about this star-crossed couple and I'm hopeful the author will extend their journey and give us a full-length book. Saint touched upon many different time-frames that he and Fasta were a part of and even shed a tear or two for those times when they couldn't be together. I'd love a bit more of both their past and their promised future.

Well done and now I'm thrilled to read the rest of this wonderful boxed set.

This review is for Rashelle Workmans contribution to the compilation of story's. I absolutely love Alice in Wonderland and was so excited when I found out she was writing a story related to my favorite fairytale. I absolutely loved Alice. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I think you should give this one a read, you won't be disappointed. I love anything written by this author and can't wait to see what she has in store for us next. So make sure you pick this up and read about the Dark Moth Society

I kind of cheated with this book set. I only bought it so I could read the alternative version of chapter one of Introductions (Ghost bird #1) by C.L.Stone. But based on that alone I would give this a 4-star rating. I would have given it a 5, but I was hoping to see the others' view of Sang too rather than just Kota's...
