Kat Maren knows exactly what fall should taste warm apple cider, cinnamon sugar, and tradition.
It absolutely should not taste like pumpkin spice.
Unfortunately, Henry Hopkins has opened a flourishing coffee shop across the street, selling pumpkin spice lattes. With lines out the door, he’s stealing customers from Kat’s struggling cider mill and enjoying every second of their seasonal feud. When their small town’s Fall Fest pits them against each other, Kat is determined to prove that cider is the true flavor of autumn. But between bonfires, one spectacularly sticky accident, and getting lost together in a lantern-lit corn maze, their rivalry begins to feel strangely like something else.
A Brewed Awakening is a warm and witty rivals-to-lovers romantic comedy filled with small-town meddling, fall festival chaos, apple cider, pumpkin spice slander, heated kisses, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
This was a delightful enemies to lovers story, pitting apple cider against pumpkin spice as the ruler of fall. Kat runs a cider shop in her small town, and has to deal with Henry stealing her customers at the coffee shop across the street. As a coffee hater, I could certainly appreciate the rage against all things pumpkin spice (though I am cool with treats), but I was drawn in by the witty banter between Kat and Henry, with lots of great lines from Kat's best friend Brent. I was actually kind of sad that this was a novella because I found myself wanting to read more about their relationship throughout the fall festival. It was a lovely short read though!
Absolutely loved this short story! A cute, heartwarmig story of love, rivalry and finding your way to each other. The character development was great, the rival to lovers banter was a chef's kiss. The tension between kat and Henry was perfect.
I also loved all the cozy small town fall vibes: festivals, corn mazes, bonfires and of course, the battle for the best seasonal drink between the Queen of Cider and The Pumpkin Spice King.
But my favorite character was Kat's best friend Brent. I adore him always calling out and teasing her with the attraction between her and Henry, while supporting and comforting her like a true friend.
Overall, this was such a fun, warm, feel-good read that left me smiling. And BTW... I'm team pumpkin Spice.
Thank you to the author for the eARC, this is my honest review.
Absolutely loved this! It was a cute, funny, and fall themed book. Kat and Henry are perfect together. Kat is cider and Henry is pumpkin but they fit perfectly together. The banter was hilariously. I was laughing throughout this book. If you love a quick read, banter, small town, and harmless rivalry this book is for you. This was a perfect read for the fall season. How could you go wrong with cider, corn mazes, pumpkin spice lattes, and a little town rivalry that turns into so much more!
A Brewed Awakening pits the classic apple cider against the trendy pumpkin spice latte through the lives and businesses of Kat ‘Cider Queen’ and Henry ‘Pumpkin King’. The Fall Fest pits the two business owners against each other in their quest for Best Seasonal Drink, and suddenly there’s something else in the air – and everyone is watching with the eyes that are usually found in a small town.
The cutest fall romance to kick off spooky season. i loved Kat and Henry- the banter between them was perfect. the inclusion of the absolute best parts of fall topped it off- fall festivals, corn mazes, and bonfires.
This was an absolutely wonderful book. The character build up was amazing. The way the romance isn’t just they meet and then the next page they somehow go from rivals to lovers is great.
A Brewed Awakening is a charming, feel-good romantic comedy that perfectly captures the cozy atmosphere of autumn. The playful rivalry between Kat and Henry creates plenty of witty banter and sparks, while the small-town setting, fall festival antics, and seasonal themes add warmth and charm to every chapter.
The story delivers exactly what fans of rivals-to-lovers romance look for: humor, chemistry, and a satisfying emotional journey. With its cozy fall vibes, lovable characters, and lighthearted romance, this is an enjoyable read for anyone who loves seasonal rom-coms and happily-ever-afters.
"was it at least a little hot?" No it was a lot hot 🔥
Kate Rozy does it again! A great book!
The only issue is it's short. I would love to read more about Kat and Henry! I'd love to see where their story goes ❤️ A cute heart warming story of love and war
