This was an enjoyable, quick read. Set during the 1920's in rural Scotland, it follows a young girl into "service" and through various mishaps over the decade. The ending had a twist I did not see coming.

great book, could put it down

I love Doris Davidson’s books and this another one, love to picture all the places she writes about, looking forward to my next one
