The way this book’s ending had me staring at the wall in shock over what I had just read is a testament to this author’s remarkable ability to immerse you in the main character’s distress and confusion.

In this Matrix-esque thriller you will not be sure what is going on until the very end, and the way you will jump from one conclusion to the next is part of the adventure. The writing flows well and yet you will question every single facet of reality as you unravel the intricacies of a main character who is gas lit and led astray at every turn.

The powers that be don’t want him to get his answers. And somehow that makes the quest for truth all the more gratifying.

Jump in right away and take a chance on an author who won’t feed you easy answers but will have you truly invested in the process of solving the mystery.

Twisty. Trippy. Extremely fast paced. Distort reality and melt your mind in the best way. I regret nothing!

3.5 stars. This is a weird story about Jack who loses his brother Ben. The grief Jack feels over the loss of his sibling is immense, and reality around him seems to become shaky. What is real and what isn't. I liked how the strange world was a metaphor for grief and depression. It can be hard to escape, and often warps your view of reality. However, the world and its rules weren't explained fully. I don't need everything spelled out for me, but I didn't really know what was going on by the end of it. Also the story wasn't scary at all. Still it's well written, and it's very short, so you can finish it in one sentence. I'd still recommend giving this book a read. I received a free copy of this story and write this review voluntarily.
