Homewrecker: Noun (plural homewreckers) A person who engages in romantic relations with a person who is married or engaged to be married with the result of breaking up the marriage or engagement. My name is Kennedy Brooks and you're not going to like me. Chances are you may even hate me, and that's okay, there are times I do too. I had choices, we all do, the ones that I made changed everything. Before I knew it, the lines of right and wrong began to blur and I was consumed so deeply that I couldn't see a way out even if I wanted to. The path I chose is not for the faint of heart, it isn't always sweet, but it's real. What happens when all the things you have always wanted suddenly aren't all you want anymore? What do you do when the forbidden screams your name and both parts of your life become as vital as the air you breathe? You make a choice. This is my story. ***Warning from the authors*** This book contains sensitive situations and explicit sex scenes. It will cause you to go through every emotion and is meant for ages 18+.
When she isn't writing, Cat is spending time with her fiancé and kiddos, losing herself in a Netflix binge, or reading a book by one of her favorite authors. She was born and raised outside of St. Louis, Missouri, just over the Mississippi River in Granite City, Illinois. Cat writes romance of all kinds with twists of humor. She now makes her home in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee and has plans to have her own home with tons of land for her family and their animals to roam wild. She has love of fictional men with filthy mouths, and lives on Bai Watermelon and sarcasm.
Without a doubt the name speaks for itself. This is a book for open minded individuals. If you're against cheating, please, please, do not read this book. This isn't simply about cheating. It's about self-sacrifice, inhibitions, communication, friendship and love.
It centres around 5 childhood friends. Mainly the married friends within the group- Gunner and Kennedy. These two have been married for ten years, and friends for over twenty. Their relationship is filled with love, intimacy- sexual and emotional; and endless selflessness. And as with many marriages, just like individuals, we are constantly evolving. Life changes at every instance. Thus, changing our outlook, tastes and even environment. Kennedy doesn't lack sex or passion. What she lacks is the extra ummmffff, to push her over the edge. Gunnar has always treated her like a porcelain doll. Never wanting to push the sexual limits and shying away from sexual spontaneity- toys and experimenting with new techniques. In the throes of passion, Kennedy always sees this flare of, wanting something 'more' in Gunnar's eyes. But as quickly as it appears is disappears.
With Kennedy, we're given a lot of introspection due to her changing sexual tastes. Especially as she works and manages a sex toy business with her two other friends - Mark and Lynsey. Without a doubt, I will say that her line of work and daily interactions, with new and creative sex based concepts and toys, have impacted upon her life - sexual and emotional.
This all leads to the inevitable cheating, into an affair, that will ensue. But what happens is not just a situation of adultery, but one of starvation. Kennedy is literally starving. Since that first, more than passionate, over the edge sexual encounter. She can't seem to get enough. The roughness, man-handling, spankings, toys, dirty talk, and spontaneity of the entire act, has created a sensual eroticism around the affair. So even if she wants to stop, there is literally no going back, to her previous sexual activities, without losing herself in the process of self-sacrifice for her marriage.
Everything about this feels different than what I'm used to. Where Gunnar is-and always has been- soft and gentle, Dixon is the complete opposite. Everything about him is rough, and for some reason, my entire body is burning because of it. I want the forcefulness of it without having to ask for it, and that's what Dixon is giving me.
In the span of a few hours I've managed to not only throw a ten year marriage down the drain, but decades worth of friendship between us all as well.
Now with Kennedy in this predicament, battling, loosing one or even both men, if she has to choose. Then throw in an obnoxiously, blunt and overbearing best girlfriend; a gay friend and our authors give us enough silliness, crassness and 'WTF!' moments to further entertain us.
The men:
Gunnar - the husband- is such a lovable person. Talk about a prince charming. Always taking and spending extra care and time when it comes to his wife. He is extremely considerate and accommodating. His inhibitions were definitely not explained well enough. There was no development into why he didn't want to go 'further' during their passionate times. Finding out about the betrayal, was utterly heartbreaking. I felt Gunnar's pain.
Dixon - best friend, brother - has loved Kennedy since they were children. But she only ever had eyes, and the heart for Gunnar. Only remaining his friend and dream from afar. Finally stealing a chance to give Kennedy what she is lacking. He is a sweetheart also, just in a more manly manner. Sarcastic and obnoxious as hell. Funny with loads of WTF! moments. Sweet talker and playboy. A.k.a the Tin Man. Because he has no heart. Completely emotionless when it comes to his 'dates.' He has all the moves and can get your blood boil with one look. And believe me, even I loved the dirty talk.
Since the death of his parents at a young age, he was taken in bu Gunnar's father. They lived like brothers. So this betrayal cuts him even deeper than it would Gunnar. Because, is causing Gunnar pain. Breaking his heart, while salvaging his own. This was also very heartfelt.
The ending:
Well now this is where I am further thrown for a loop. I seriously felt the ending was rushed and there wasn't proper development as to Gunnar's now more than eager role. I loved it, because I am wild child. The unorthodox situation was invigorating and tantalizing. I honestly didn't think Gunnar had it in him. But due to the lack of development with Gunnar and his inhibitions and insecurities, it was difficult to obtain a grasp on his turn of emotions.
I loved: Kennedy was portrayed as a curvaceous, healthy woman. Not the typical size 0 barbie dolls. She was confident and proud of herself. Her friendships with the group was flamboyant and so much as ease. The openness with her best friend was refreshing and realistic.
Not pleased about: Other than my ramblings above. I wished Kennedy had communicated with Gunnar about her concerns, rather than letting the situation escalate, until, there was no turning back. Then maybe, my mind would have been at ease. She tried and failed, rather than never tried at all. Ya know!

HOMEWRECKER...well that title alone should give you a general idea of what kind of book you are diving into. If you hate cheating in marriages, then I will forewarn you that this book has lots of extramarital affairs. Keeping that in mind, I totally dove into this book knowing that my heart and emotions will be put to a test.
First and foremost, I must tell you that this is NOT a conventional love story with the normal happily ever after as most romance books are. Nope this book is simply about a woman cheating and having an affair with her husband's best friend. Yes, we can all judge and form our opinions and say what a whore and how could she do that. But as you read further along, readers learned that Kennedy Brooks is craving more. She wants rough sex and she seeks this pleasure from her husband's best friend. As much as she knows it is wrong, her justifications, morals, and reasoning are blurred by the sexual lust and desires she found with Dixon. As she and Dixon continues their secret love affair for months, feeling begin to intensify between them. Soon Kennedy finds herself torn in loving two men while her sweet loving husband gets betrayed by the two people whom he loved and trusted the most. So what happens when the truth is revealed? When the lies, deception, and hurt are exposed, can Gunner and Kennedy find a way to fix the sanctity of their marriage? Or is the cut and betrayal too deep for Gunner?
As much as I hated Kennedy, I couldn't stop reading and was just waiting to get to that part of the book where the train wreck awaits. Throughout this whole story, I will not lie but I hated Dixon and Kennedy. Personally, no matter what their justifications for their actions I just couldn't accept it because they say they don't want to hurt Gunner but never once did they felt the need to tell him the truth. There were plenty of times for Kennedy to tell Gunner but she never said anything. The only redeemable thing in this book was Gunner. His POV truly gutted me since I felt his hurt, pain, and betrayal to the core. So the most important question any romance aficionado wants to know is there a HEA? Yes, there is a HEA but it is not the ending I expected and wanted. So if you are looking for an unconventional love story with a different kind of HEA then I would suggest you give this book a try.

Well I'm speechless. I've just finished reading this and all I can say is wow. The title gave me some expectations but these two authors blew them expectations out of the water. Just when I thought I knew what way the story was gonna go these authors twisted it completely.
This is a story about cheating and friendship. There is no excuse for cheating whatsoever. However this book was different than other books with a cheating storyline. It surprised me that I didn't dislike any of the characters. I loved the 3 main characters and loved how the secondary characters added to the story.
Gunnar and Kennedy are married. They love each other but Kennedy feels as if there is something missing. As they start to drift apart in steps Dixon. Dixon is Gunnars best friend. Can he give Kennedy what she thinks she's missing??
Exceedingly good read. It's a really hot and steamy read. Well written with a brilliant storyline. I truly loved every word of it.
In life we grow comfortable with our friends and families. Comfortable with our routines, work and love life. But what happens when the marriage to your high school sweetheart has lost its luster...you still feel that all consuming love filled in your heart for him, but something is missing...his touch still sizzles your skin- when he touches you. You realize that you both desire completely different spectrums of lust and that leaves you feeling vulnerable and in need of a deep connection. You crave it. But it's when temptations taunt, and you cave into that desire that you realize you are in way over your head.
Kennedy is a genuine sweetheart. She has a huge heart. She loves Gunnar, her high school sweetheart and wants so badly to rekindle the spark in their marriage. But with all the stress of Gunnar's new position as head football coach, he's putting his job first and Kennedy last. Gunnar is a great husband, but he only sees his goal at the end of the day, molding the perfect champion football team. Their friendships are strong and solid, with Dixon, Lynsey and Mark by their sides...it's like a small family, they all love each other and hurt when each other hurts.
One night... friendships change...the hunger for lust and passion are cured- by the last person Kennedy ever expect to crave.
Kennedy never intended for the sequence of events that took her life by storm to transpire...she had no intentions of becoming THAT woman, the woman who wreaks havoc and destroys innocent hearts.
Homewrecker- WOW...Mason and Kiden are the absolute perfect dynamic duo! This book had me reeling. I am completely hungover, even a week later and I miss these characters so much! Homewrecker has EVERYTHING you will enjoy. I laughed so hard that I couldn't breath. I cried as I felt the pain each character was suffering through. I nearly ripped my sheets in half because the sexual tension and connection between the characters was MIND BLOWING! I've honestly never read a book that I felt so in tune with the characters as I do with Homewrecker. 5 stars doesn't even do this book the justice it deserves. Honestly, I don't think a thousand stars could rank it high enough!! Yes, Homewrecker is taboo, and does touch elements of real life that are out of the ordinary for most people. The one thing I took with me from reading Homewrecker is that people will go to dire straits for LOVE. It may not be conventional for some, but for others it takes more than one heart, mind and soul to make you feel complete. The lengths one would go to make the person who owns their heart so endlessly, feel that all consuming love and affection they deserve, is awe-inspiring and beyond touching.
Homewrecker is an unconventional Romance with loads of humor, angst, suspense and steamy thigh clenching sex! Absolutely blown away at the amazing work Mason and Kiden have constructed.
This book has got to be one of my favorites. I'm giving this book 5 ☆☆☆☆☆'s First let me say that this book has it all. Drama heartache tears and love. I loved how in this book you get a sense of brotherhood friendship and family. Through everything these characters went through they still managed to come out with all of those things intact even when you didn't think they would. When you think you know where this book is going it takes you in a totally different direction. This book will make you believe in friendship lasting a lifetime.
I seriously am at a loss of words. I’ve read both Katheryn’s and Cat’s books, and the fact that they never thought to write a dual book before this kind of upsets me. OMGGGGG…. First let me explain that I am very much aware that this review will not do this book justice. I can’t even figure out the words to explain how freaking much I loved this book. OMG OMG OMG
I guess I have to try right? Ok so number one... when I read the title to the book I almost died… I know the writing style of these two fab authors, so I knew I was in for some crazy, hot, dirtiness. AND OMG did they provide. We all know im on a cheater kick... I freaking love cheater books, really anything that’s taboo. I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I do know that besides Home Wrecker being a cheater book, it was sooooo much more than that. I wish I could tell you what else it covers, but I don’t want to give anything away.
I loved every single character in this book. Kennedy, the main character is great. She and her husband Gunnar have been in each other’s lives since grade school, along with their best friends Dixon, Lyndsey and mark. Every character plays a pivotal role in this book and I loved them so much for it.
Dixon is best friends with Gunnar, and Lyndsey and mark are Kennedys bffs, but they are all close, and consider themselves family.
I seriously wish I could just tell you all what happens, because this review would make so much more sense, but I can’t. I can only say that this is seriously my favorite book that these two authors have written, and I hope they write a million more books together.
I haven’t read many books that were written by 2 authors. I usually get scared to because sometimes you can see the difference of the writing, but let me tell you Cat and Kathryn executed Home Wrecker perfectly. I had no idea where one author started, and the other ended. That’s why I need them to write more.
Home Wrecker is amazing. If you don’t mind a book with some taboo in it, grab this now. I know this review doesn’t explain much, but just trust me you need to read it. It was amazing, emotional HOT, and just perfect.
If I could give it 10 stars I would. I loved it that much. Do yourself a favor and read this book NOW!!!!
I loved this book!!! The title says a lot but... It's not what you think! This book has some hilarious LOL moments. The sexy parts don't suck either! As much as I loved it, I didn't find the ending realistic. Having said that, it's a book, a story, and you can write whatever you want. I still loved it. Stories aren't always "realistic" and I don't need them to be to enjoy them.
This is the first book I've read by either Author, Bravo Ladies!!!
Cat Mason is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! When I was offered this book for an honest review I knew I couldn't turn it down.
When you read the title I know what you are thinking.... another book about a girl who falls in love with the wrong and ruins everything for everyone for a while until it all comes together! WRONG yes you are wrong! That is not this book... We meet a group of 4 very different friends whom have been friend for forever now.
Kennedy is married to her highschool sweetheart and is working in a sex shop owned by her best friend! Lyn is what they call her and she wild and crazy! As is Mark their other friend who works at the shop.
Gunnar is Kennedy's husband he is also the head coach for the local football team no less in the bible belt.. his best friend Dixon is a player you all know the kind that I am talking about. They have been best friends for as long as anyone can remember. This group has fun all the time with eachother....
But alas nothing is prefect Kennedy feels like she is missing something and her marriage is becoming strand and she doesn't know how to fix it.
Gunanr couldn't be happier right now, his wife is great, his friends are great, his job is great... but he can feel his wife slipping away.
One drunken night Kennedy and Dixon make a mistake that can never be undone. This sparks something Kennedy knew she needed and wanted and all at the same time never knew was there.
You think that you have it figured out you are wrong.
I love the way that Cat and Katheryn put this book together, they keep you wanting more and more even though you should be hating some of these characters you just cant..
I received a Arc copy of this book for a honest review
Kennedy seemly has it all: a great job where she sees her best friends everyday and a 10 yr marriage to the man she loves, but below the surface there's something missing. Gunnar is Kennedy's husband and high school sweetheart. The one thing he could always trust was that his love for her was stronger than anything. Marriage is wonderful, but as any married woman knows your taste in the bedroom may change and sometimes you're man enough to try something new and sometimes your not. Kennedy wants to try new things to spice it up, but can't seem to make it come out her mouth so distance grows between her and Gunnar. Just when she thinks she sees a glimpse of something more in his eyes he pushes down which makes the distance grow even more. One night changes everything. I am in no means condoning stepping out on your significant other, but I get it. It's not that Kennedy stopped loving Gunnar, she just needs more than he's willing to give her. It's a crazy story with hot sex. I can totally see this happen in real life, Mason and Kiden make it believable!! I, being a married woman, hope I never have to go through this, but I hope I'm strong enough to fight for what makes me happy and that is what Kennedy has to do. Will Kennedy and Gunnar's marriage be over? You have to check it out for yourself and see. You won't be disappointed.
I was very hesitant to read this story initially. Just based on the title and blurb, I knew that it would test my moral compass. I was right.
By the time I got 20% into this book I was struggling with the content and storyline but I pressed on anyway and I'm glad I did. I got caught up in the moments and the 'edge of your seat' aspect of the choices being made. I was freaking out most of the time, worried about what was going to happen when the shite hit the fan.
I really liked Gunnar, he was so sweet and I really felt like his wife treated him like shite. Kennedy needed to woman up and communicate with her man. I still don't think she deserves him.
When the shite does in fact hit the fan I was completely blown away with what happened afterwards. With Gunnar that is. We got to know him well in the first half of the story and I felt like I didn't know him at all in the end. He did a complete 360 and became a different person.
I guess I expected a different outcome and not what actually happened in the end. This is not necessarily a bad thing though. There was absolutely nothing predictable about this story which was definitely something that kept me reading until the end.
The sex scenes were off the scale smoking hot, like really hot!
I still don't know how I feel about this book but it definitely evoked a lot of feelings and emotions from me.
Homewrecker was my first read from either one of these authors. I was a bit nervous going into it for that reason combined with not being a big fan of cheating in my past reads. I was hoping that these authors were able to bring me through it without throwing the Kindle across the room. Well they sure did! I am SO glad that I gave this one a chance. I loved it!
This story is full of emotions. Heartbreak, regret, humor, forbidden attraction, and lots and lots of steamy sex. This book had me all over the place. I was annoyed and angry by the selfishness that Kennedy had, and then I took a 180 turn somewhere along the way and was excited and loving the outcome of that selfishness. Is it really possible for bad choices to develop into a happily ever after? For Kennedy, it is!
Homewrecker contained all the elements that make a great book for me. Intriguing storyline, great characters, excellent pace, and sex scenes that will make anyone blush. And the cover? Can’t get any more awesome than that!
I highly recommend this and look forward to reading more from these authors.

omg I knew I would be speechless reading this book but omg. This is a book that I feel every woman thinks about at some point in their lives. Kennedy loves her husband Gunner more than anything but often feels somthing is missing, his sweet, caring and soft and sometimes soft isn't what she's wanting and sh knows deep down he doesn't want to be soft but she can't get him to give himself 100%, so Kennedy fines what's missing and it maybe wrong but it feels so right. I can't say to much without giving it away but I loved book and the characters Gunner is sexy, but so is his best friend Dixon his the bad boy type and I love Lynsey she's a sex kitten, and the fact that Harper Sloan is on the cover makes this a perfect book.
Wow! What can I say about this book? I have no issue with books on cheating, and this one was clearly marketed as being that, so if anyone had a problem with the plot, they didn't read the synopsis. I really liked Kennedy; and I didn't feel any animosity towards her at all. I loved the steamy sex scenes, and I get why she was so drawn to Dixon. She truly had it all until she was busted, that is. That portion of the book gutted me; the pain of all those involved was so beautifully told. Raw emotions: anger, betrayal, jealousy, hate, love, regret, self-loathing - they were all there.
Where the book fell short for me was the ending. It seemed too convenient and unrealistic. I'm not a reader that has to have an HEA, and for this book, I think it would have been better served if Kennedy was made to choose between the two men she loved.
Hard one to rate since I enjoyed the story but I'm not a fan of cheating. However I never disliked either of the cheaters so I guess it deserves my appreciation.
Her husband loved her to death, she loved him with every fibre of her being but felt something was missing in their sex life. You'd think after being together 20 years they'd feel comfortable enough to tell each other anything.
Here's my review. Hope it's okay. What do I do next? Lol. I'll get the hang of this soon, I promise.
Unconventional Bliss!!! Homewrecker will pull you in and make you think outside the relationship box all while making you blush scarlet! Imagine the perfect filthy talking Alpha Male AND the sweet and savory Boy Next Door at the same time literally.
It's the typical small town circle of friends romance. Gunnar and Kennedy have known each other practically their entire lives and tied the knot ten years ago. Gunnar to Kennedy is comfortable, safe, and lately it's becoming evident, he is boring. Ignoring the "elephant" in the room they both live life mechanically, same routine everyday, being married, making sweet love (unsatisfying to Kennedy) and hanging with three other people in their circle of friends that have become family. Lyndsey is the outspoken spitfire obsessed with sex and owner of "Batteries Not Included" ( best store name ever), the adult fun store which just so happens to employ Kennedy and Mark, who we think is gay; however there is specific attraction to one female, Lyndsey. Dixon Hale, be still my heart, rounds out the circle of friends. The filthy mouthed, super hot, alpha male and Firefighter whom was raised by Gunnar's dad after his parents passed, is just hot.
Working in a store named "Batteries Not Included" spikes the curiosity in Kendall as she quickly realizes she needs more from her sweet loving husband. More than sweet caresses, she needs to be desired, to be pushed to the edge. Trying to approach the topic with Gunnar, whom seems to be distracted with his professional success being named Head Coach for the High School Football Team, (small town USA, this is a big deal, football coach = celebrity status) isn't open to trying anything new. Hoping to slowly insert more spice into their sex life he abruptly shuts Kennedy down. Being more on the curvy side Kennedy already has body issues and being turned down by her husband doesn't help. It's a constant struggle in her mind and Kennedy fights the battle of "not being good enough". Afterglow mother knows best and that is what her mother has preached since day one add Gunnar's reluctance and insecurities are at an all time high.
It's often said you find exactly what you've been missing at the strangest time and in the strangest place. Enter Dixon Hale, best friend practically brother to Gunnar. After being left at the alter during a wedding he was only using to avoid what he thought was unrequited love, he vows to never get close to a woman, nicknaming himself "The Tin Man" , Dix loves them and leaves them by the dozen all while watching the woman he loves with someone else. Then one drunken night ignites a flame that even this Firefighter can't contain.
One night, a ride home and the ride of her life opens up a piece of Kennedy that she has been hiding or never knew she had. One hot night with the Firefighter and she finally feels alive, alive and utterly guilty. Who is this woman that cheats? Who is this woman that needs to be loved hard and pushed to her limits it seems only Dixon can reach? One time, one time is a mistake more than once is a choice. The choice is made as neither Kennedy nor Dixon can be satisfied with one time, they enter into a physical relationship that takes hot to another level.
Kennedy realizes she loves two men, Gunnar growing suspicious of his wife's behavior and Dixon pushing Kennedy away because he refuses to hurt his brother anymore leads to several tense moments culminating when Dixon confesses his love to Kennedy. Confessing that he has loved her for so long he just did so from afar thinking he'd never have a chance with her and after this confession he pushes her out of his life leaving Kennedy devastated and hoping to preserve what relationship he has left with the guy he grew up with.
In a small town nothing stays secret very long and when this spicy gem gets out, things get more than interesting. Now that Gunnar knows the cause for his wife's sullen mood, he confronts both to reaffirm his suspicions. A couple bloody noses, a split up marriage, a destroyed friendship and a crying mess later sex obsessed best friend to Kennedy, Lyndsey, conspires to get Gunnar and Dixon in the same room so she can discuss some "unconventional" solutions for their romantic triangle. They must think outside the norm.
Loving each other unconditionally, Gunnar, Kennedy and Dixon enter into a relationship as a threesome. While not the typical solution by societal standards it's the best solution for a woman who needs both men to feel whole. Cue some of the hottest bedroom scenes these eyes have read. This trio being together brings out the best in each other, Gunnar becomes more alpha and demanding in the bedroom, Dixon becomes more emotionally charged and soft and sensual. Kennedy has hit the love making jackpot with the combination of these two.
HOMEWRECKER is the first book in the Into the Flames series. This is a stand-alone contemporary romance. It was released in 2015 and there hasn’t been a second book.
From the beginning, Kennedy says you may not like her. You may hate her. She’s right! She cheated on her husband, repeatedly! Her husband, Gunnar’s best friend, Dixon claims he has loved her since they were just kids, but never spoke up before.
Still, this story isn’t simply about cheating and choosing. If you think you know what this story is about, you’re wrong. Bring an open mind, a box of tissues, and a spare pair of panties (or two).
I’ll show my age a bit and tell you that I started humming the Mary Macgregor song “Torn Between Two Lovers,” which was very popular when I was in junior high school.
To tell you the truth, I was mad at Kennedy through most of this book – until it finally clicked – she needed both of them. Then I loved all three of them and started hoping they could figure out a way to make everyone happy. Now, you know I won’t tell you the decision she made and who was satisfied and who was mad. I encourage you to set aside your pre-judged ideas and give it a chance. I wasn’t sorry. Let me know what you think.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
Title: HOMEWRECKER Series: Into the Flames #1 Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content Grammar/editing: book received as an unedited ARC / errors excused Received from: Cat Mason (as an ARC gifted copy)
This is the first book I have read by Cat Mason or Katheryn Kiden and I am glad I did. I read the synopsis and I knew I had to read it. Yes, it's about cheating but she owned it and knew people wouldn't like her for it. It was also different and I love different, it makes me want to read even more.
Gunnar and Kennedy have been married for 10 years but together for what seems like a lifetime. Kennedy loves Gunnar but lately she has felt that there is something missing, she needs him to stop treating her like she is made of glass in the bedroom. He is very sweet and tender but she needs him to stop holding back and lose some control, she needs it and when one night she gets just that with someone else things won't ever be the same...
Kennedy knows she should not want Dixon but she does. She can't stop thinking about the way he made her body feel. Where Gunnar is sweet, Dixon is rough. Both her and Dixon think if they will just get it out of their system if they have one more night but they are very wrong. They feel horrible about it but Kennedy is torn. She feels like two different people but when she has both men she feels whole. Dixon can give her what Gunnar can't. But what happens when things get too out of control with the affair? Will one of them pull away? Will Gunnar find out?
This book is more than just about an affair, which I am not going lie, it's a hot affair. It is also about friendship, there is a core group of friends that do not judge but support each other. There is Lynsey, the other woman in the group. She owns a sex shop and does not have a filter, she is hilariously honest and enjoys throwing dildos at people and not sorry about it. Love her. There is also Mark and he works with Lydney and Kennedy at the shop and he is definitely something else, so funny and his banter with Lynsey is epic. And of course, Dixon and Gunnar, they are like brothers.
This story actually surprised me since I was actually Team Dixon. I know that's bad but I loved his filthy mouth, take control attitude and the whole Tin Man thing with a sweet side. I also like Gunnar because he was sweet but that is not what Kennedy needs at this point. I feel for her, I know communication with Gunnar would have been a better way of dealing with it but then there wouldn't be this book, right?
Overall...I thought it was great book. It was definitely different, hot, and a rollercoaster for sure. And then the twists...yay!
Quotes:
“I knew there was at least a little bit of a bad girl hiding somewhere under all that nice girl bullshit.”
I’m torn between right and wrong, between need and want.
“It’s all I’m good for, Kennedy. It’s the only thing I can do right, and right now I can’t even do that for you.”
WOW!! Let me tell you the book Homewrecker by Cat Mason and Katheryn Kiden is a fantastic book!! The title isn't what this book is about either, so you end up going into this book thinking it will be about one thing and it completely changes half way through.
Kennedy has been married to her high school sweetheart, Gunner, for 10 years. They have a close circle of friends including Dixon, Gunner's best friend, her best friends, Lyndsy and Mark. They all have been friends since high school and are each other;s confidant. Kennedy loves her life, friends and marriage. Gunner loves Kennedy with his whole heart, but sometimes he treats Kennedy like she is a piece of glass, he is so gentle with her all of the time. Even during the times when she needs him to lose control, during sex. Although when Gunner almost loses anything he gains control again. So one night when she drives Dixon home after too much drinking she wasn't able to stop him when came onto her. Dixon showed her exactly what she has been needing but hasn't been able to get. Rough, aggressive sex, she was able to see that she isn't a piece a glass and she can handle it all. Only the next morning all of the guilt set in, Kennedy had no idea what she should do, so after discussing it with Lyndsey, Kennedy decided she needed to try things with Dixon again so she should decide if it was something she truly wanted or if it was just the alcohol. Only Dixon and Kennedy weren't able to keep it to just one more time, they were completely drawn to each other. Kennedy realized she loved Dixon, and found out Dixon has loved her since high school. They had no idea with was going to happen, Kennedy only knew she couldn't give either man up. So when it cam time Kennedy tried to get Gunner to open up in the bedroom he blew up. Gunner was not willing to give Kennedy what she was asking for, and this started the downfall of her marriage. This is when Gunner realized what was going on between the two most important people of his life. He never thought Dixon or Kennedy would be a Homewrecker. The hurt and pain all three felt was tearing at their souls, and only being together would help that. So Lyndsey helped Dixon and Gunner see that the only way to get their lives back was to give Kennedy exactly what she wanted, give her both men back. So that's exactly what they decided to do, give Kennedy both men she loves, only how they went about it is not how you think.
Ok so before I get to my feelings on this book, I will be the first to admit that cheating in a no go for me in books... BUT. Yeah there is that big BUT... sometimes there is more than it appears on the surface. I was hesitant to review this book because it has a hard limit in it but I love Cat Mason and her books effing rock so I decided to go for it. All balls in and just do it because hey we only live once. And let me tell you... BEST DECISION EVER!
This will probably be one of my TOP reads of 2015. I just know it. This book was amazing. Totally taboo, forbidden, sexy, angsty, and downright delicious. This book will be relatable to a lot because hey we have all run into dry spells in our relationships where a little spice is needed. This book hits that subject and goes so beyond. I wasn't sure how this storyline as going to play out and yes I was hesitant but it was awesome. I devoured this book in one sitting.
This is Kennedy's story (though we get some other POVs along the way). Kennedy has had a core group of friends since grade school. She married her high school sweetheart and runs a successful sex toy shop with her best friend. Life couldn't be more perfect? Or could it? Kennedy is missing something with her husband and doesn't know what she needs until she takes a chance on something different that lights up her life. Now she is in too deep to turn back. But when all the smoke clears and her secrets are revealed, will she be able to salvage what she had or is it too late?
I warred at times with Kennedy. Did I think she did the wrong thing? Of course. I couldn't imagine betraying my husband that way but sometimes the unthinkable has to happen to make everyone's eyes open. Sometimes we have to risk it and take a chance... that was Kennedy. And once that door was opened for her, she couldn't turn back. I was rooting for her and the best outcome. I will say I was shocked how it all played out but it was the best thing for Kennedy honestly. And once it hit about 75% this book came to life and well yeah just read it!

Kennedy is married to her best friend. They hang out with their gang of five from high school. You have Gunnar the sweet, perfect husband. Completing the party are player Dixon, domineering Lynsey and smart ass Mark. What more could anyone want? But something is missing. Is it a finger up the ass? I don’t know.
I had so many preconceived notions when I read the title and description of “Homewrecker”. I thought I KNEW where this story was going. I was discussing it with my “friend” as we went on our walk yesterday.
Me – I am really loving this book. I can so identify with Kennedy and being married 10 years and …..
Friend (Bitch) – So what you are saying is that you are basically a whore. *snickers*
Me – No….well, yeah….but NO!
The book starts out with Kennedy needing more. She finds it in a torrid affair and those scenes are panty scorchers! I could definitely relate to Kennedy’s feelings and the lack of communication in her marriage. Sometimes you are married to a “Gunnar”, the caring guy that gives you that sweet loving. You definitely can see the train crash coming from a mile away. I thought that I knew where the story would go. Who will Kennedy choose or will she end up alone?
Then Cat and Katheryn tripped me up! I didn’t see that coming, but I am on board with this outcome. I don’t want to give anything away so I will just say if you are looking for a really erotic story, jump right into “Homewrecker”. You won’t regret it.
“Whining will get you nowhere. You’re not going to come unless my cock is buried inside this perfect fucking pussy.”

I love Cat Masons books but have never read anything by Katheryn Kiden so I was excited to see how the 2 authors writing would mesh together and I was curious to see if both writing styles worked together. The synopsis didn't really give anything away about the book, so I felt I was going in to the story completely blind. As the synopsis doesnt give much away I'm not going to let on to what the book is about. A big part of the excitement was diving in to the unknown and watching the story unravel in front of your eyes. The story was very forbidden, complicated and interesting. It frustrated me, made me angry, but also broke my heart. I didn't necessarily agree with parts of the story or what the main character Kennedy did throughout the book, but the story was compelling and I couldn't put it down. The story also had a good amount of humour and great innuendos in to break up the serious of the story, which I really enjoyed and added a lot to the story. The authors had a great mix of heart breaking, forbidden love and funniness to make a very well balanced story. I really loved that Harper Sloan was on the front cover of the book. I found that brilliant and helped make me picture Kennedy. The authors wrote some crazy hot sex scenes together that spiced up the book. The sex scenes fitted into the book perfectly and didn't over take the story. This was a surprise of a book for me, especially since I had no clue what the book was about. I'd defiantly recommend this book to others. The authors did a good job at writing together. Maybe we're see more collaborations in the future. 4 Stars
A 5 Star review is not enough, this deserves so many more.
Homewrecker is a book that will not give your everyday happily ever after you all expect.
What happens when after 10yrs of marriage to your childhood sweetheart is not enough to set the sheets on fire anymore, when you have had enough of being treated as fragile and can feel his holding back on you? Yep Kennedy went and found it elsewhere.
Kennedy and Gunner have been together since school. The love these two share is absolutely beautiful, but when Kennedy is sick of being treated as fragile in the bedroom and feels Gunner is holding back on her, she falls into the arms of Gunners best friend, Dixon. Supposedly a one night 'mistake' Dixon give Kennedy the things she craves, but was it just the alcohol involved? Why not try it again sober and see what happens, this is where the whole book opens up. When Kennedy tried to push things with Gunner abit further to try and give her more, he shuts her down and their relationship starts to fall apart. But what happens when all is revealed and Kennedy can't live without either of them?
A close group of friends, who are all family to each other, are a great bunch of characters and gave me many LOL moments, that had me struggling for breath and then the heartfelt, realistic feel of the book, the heartache, the emotional attachment all had my heart breaking.
A book that will leave me in a funk no doubt as I could keep reading about this close knit group of friends for weeks to come
