Faced with the realization that not only do witches, werewolves and who knows what else truly exist. Alexis Davis comes face to face with fate. The Elekita have played their hand and now it is time for her to decide if she will rise to the occasion or succumb to her volatile destiny. As Alexis’ power rises, danger seems to pop up at every turn. A past, present and future that span over this life and the lives that she has lost, haunt her every dream. Glimpses into who she has yet to be, cause her to question each decision she is forced to make. Alexis comes face to face with revelations that may ultimately help or hinder. Alliances questioned as she heads full force into a storm built from revelations, secrets and lies. While fighting for, not only her fate, but the fate of the world, love seems to have picked a fight of its own. A choice between a dark and brooding Sebastian Gates and Jonathon Evans with his kind heart and tender soul is made more difficult as motives are questioned and truths become lies. Can this life become the last? Will Alexis tap into her control and finally get the answers she deserves?
“We were everything and nothing. We were something more that desperately craved something less. We were wrong.”
Eterna picks up where Aconite left off and if you haven’t read it yet, do it now! You won’t be disappointed! Alexis is still trying to gain control of her powers but with little luck. She’s learning more about her past lives and the deaths she endured, as well as the effects they had on the wolves and Jo. That, more than anything, makes her more determined to not let the past repeat itself.
The biggest problem is she came to this small town to find herself and she didn’t appreciate everyone trying to control her life, whether it is for her own good or not. She can’t be who they all want her to be. Jonathon and Sebastian both love her but for once Alexis will put her life above love, no matter the feelings they stir within her.
Alexis kind of reminded me of the Hulk but instead of turning green, she unleashed storms when she got upset. I felt drawn in, rooting for her to conquer her powers. Ms. Alvarez has a beautiful and vivid writing style that sucks you in and takes you for a ride, and I need more! There is another cliffhanger at the end but read it anyway, it’s worth it!
Eterna shows us more of Alexis's past. Some questions are answered but we still have mysteries to uncover in the future books. The love triangle continues as Alexis's bond and relationships with both Jonathon and Sebastian continue to grow. Her relationships with Mack, Jo, and Richland also blossom. She is determined to avoid repeating the past. Alexis grows and becomes more confident in herself. I can't wait to see where the story takes us. I am #TeamSebastian and hope he and Alexis chose each other in book three. Highly recommended!!! A unique story with complex characters and an interesting plot.
Eterna picks up with the cliffhanger from book 1. That being said you will be totally lost if you do not read the series in order.
Alexis is learning more about her past lives and trying to harness her powers. She has learned that in former lives she loved both Sebastian and Jonathan, and they both of done her harm. She is still coming to grips with the fact that as she has run away from her life because of controlling family she has run into more people that wish to control and perhaps kill her. She is also trying to find a way to keep the past from repeating itself.
Ms. Alvarez continues to draw you into Alexis world and the chaos around her. Just when you think you have it figured it out she throws another plot twist in. This installment ends with another cliffhanger but it is worth the read and I'm chomping at the bit to get to the third and final chapter of the series.
As Alexis finds out more and more about her past lives and what that means for her present life she has more and more to fight. She has learned what has led up to where she is now, but she has to find a way to control the power that keeps increasing inside of her and find a way to get to the vision of what she has seen of her future. She wants part of the vision to come to life while the rest she wants to prevent.
She is constantly questioning her decisions and trying to find the best way to proceed. The people around her all have their own reasons and interests to protect so she is left trying to figure it all out by herself.
This the second book of the series. While I enjoy stories about witches and werewolves, this book still has me getting lost with the present and past narratives jumping around confusing not only Alexis but my self too. It is still a very good book and it leaves me wanting to read the next one to find out if she survives what the witches want from her.
OMGAWD I could not for the life of me (knowing I had work in the morning) put this book down! I wanted to shake Alexis so bad throughout the whole book. But now even with all the pieces falling into place there's even more to know. ..
Simply in love with this series. The author takes you on an amazing journey. Past lives, secrets, lies, and mystery is what you get in this wonderfully written series.
