one of the hottest books i’ve read this year!! e. salvador, you never fail to amaze me, my queen 💌
୨ৎ anna. such a strong woman fr. i would genuinely just would never be able to survive if i go through what she went through. i’m the proudest, and she actually tried to stood her ground but i get her for folding as well LOL
୨ৎ sylas. literally glad of how his life turned out because his parents are just a bunch of evil human beings. it’s really a choice on how we choose to live, and he’s the living proof that you can be different from your parents. he made his choice to be better, not only for himself, but also for his own family.
GOSH, don’t get me started on the spicy scenes of this book because it was genuinely GOOD! i ate it up 🫣 sue me for liking it idc!
i really enjoyed this one and i love how it ended as well 🥹💗 couldn’t think of a better ending for anna and sylas because they just deserve everything after all the struggles they’ve been through when they we’re apart.

I was so excited to jump back into Silas and Anna’s story after the way the last book ended. My heart was absolutely shattered, and I needed to know how everything would work out. From the very beginning, you could tell these were two people who were meant to be together, even with so many outside forces working against them.
Anna is an absolute badass. She’s a single mom, runs her own business, and somehow keeps putting one foot in front of the other while carrying around so much heartbreak. There were definitely moments where I wanted to shake her because she refused to accept help when she so clearly needed it, but when it came to Rosie, she would do absolutely anything. She was an incredible mom, and Rosie completely stole my heart.
Silas was a man completely down bad, and I loved every second of it. He knew he had lost the love of his life and was willing to do whatever it took to earn her back. Honestly, I couldn’t blame him because their little family was everything, and seeing him fight for them made me root for him even more.
And can we talk about the parents? Both of their families could kick rocks. Thankfully, they had an amazing found family surrounding them. Their friends and siblings showed up when it mattered most, proving that family isn’t always about blood. The found family aspect added so much heart to this story and made every emotional moment hit even harder.
If you love emotional second-chance romance, a hero willing to do anything to win back the woman he loves, an incredible single mom, and a found family that will have you smiling through your tears, this is one you won’t want to miss.

One of my favorite things about this book is that you get to experience the familar dynamic of Anna and Sylas from Let's Pretend but you also get to experience the differences in their personalities and realtionship.
E. knows how to write such compelling characters with emotionally charaged stories, Anna and Sylas deserve their happiest of endings and seeing them form the tiny cutest family was so beautiful. You also get to experience them build a found family within their own friends and other important figures in their lives.
The way I could never be in a room alone with Anna and Sylas parents because I would literally crash out on all of them without any regrets.
Defeintely love the emphasis of healing in this novel because that's genuiely what Anna and Sylas needed for their relationship and I will always root for a story that talks about the importance of therapy when struggling with mental health.

Let’s Be Forever is the sequel to Let’s Pretend, a holiday novella following Anna and Sylas as they find themselves falling for each other while fake dating. Let’s Be Forever picks up a few years after the explosive cliffhanger at the end of Let’s Pretend. Love or hate the cliffhanger, it was shocking. I’m usually not a fan of the surprise pregnancy trope, but Salvador’s writing is addictive and intense.
Let’s Be Forever is positioned as a sequel while also being a standalone. I’m not sure why Salvador decided to write Let’s Be Forever as both. I don’t think it failed, but I don’t think it succeeded either.
Anna and Sylas continue to be fire hot together. Their connection is undeniable. Let’s Be Forever is overflowing with emotion as Anna and Sylas learn how to be around each other and their daughter.

When I got the email for this ARC, I actually hadn’t gotten around to reading Let’s Pretend yet. So I did what any sane person would do… I flew through Let’s Pretend in the morning and started Let’s Be Forever that same afternoon. 🤣 It was the best decision because Let’s Pretend ends with a time jump/cliffhanger, and getting to jump straight into this one was absolutely perfect.
If you haven’t read either book yet… what are you waiting for? Go fix that immediately! If you have read Let’s Pretend, just know this one picks up right where that book left off. The story also weaves in flashbacks, slowly revealing everything that happened during their time apart, and I loved seeing those missing pieces come together.
Both books are definitely spicy, but I do think Let’s Be Forever was just a little more tame than Let’s Pretend, which didn’t bother me at all because this book was so focused on the emotion, the healing, and Anna and Sylas finding their way back to each other.
Sylas absolutely yearned for Anna, but he didn’t stop there… this man begged, fought, and did everything he possibly could to earn her trust back. I love a man who has to work for his second chance, and watching him prove himself made every emotional moment feel so worth it. Anna also stood her ground, and I really appreciated that their relationship wasn’t magically fixed overnight. They both had to work for their happily ever after, which made it feel so much more satisfying.
This was such a satisfying and beautiful conclusion to their story. Seeing Anna and Sylas finally find their way back to each other made my heart so happy, and by the time I turned the last page, it was completely full.

When I tell you that man yearns I mean he’s on his knees begging for a second chance and I loved that Anna didn’t fold immediately, she made him work for it, but she was also super understanding towards their misunderstandings and his struggles.
The found family in this one was so cute because Anna, Sylas, and Rosie deserved a new family since they’d been constantly rejected by those who were supposed to love them🥲I’m going to be so honest when I say this one made me feel every emotion in the world. One second I’m screaming in anger at Sylas’s family, then I’m crying, then I’m swooning, then I’m turning my kindle brightness down because some scenes were so steamy I was afraid the ghost in my room was judging me😭
I highlighted most of this book because the love confessions were so beautiful and I could feel through the pages how much Sylas and Anna loved each other and just wanted a happy ending. Also can we talk about the mental health rep? An issue I had with book 1 was that they didn’t go into Sylas’s struggles enough, but I’m so glad we discussed it more in this one because it added such an important layer to the story!
Rosie🥹my baby!! She was the cutest and when she said “Daddy’s going to win” I almost died it was so adorable. I could’ve take 100 more pages of them because this one was just that good!! I absolutely recommend, especially if you love yearning, second chance, amazing spice, and a secret baby!!

i’m so happy i got to read about them again, now with their little plus one, and see how sweet and beautiful everything became once things finally got back on track. the beginning was so very angsty and i absolutely ate that up. second chance excellence!

I didn’t hate it but really wanted to love this one more than I did. While there were definitely sweet, emotional, and spicy moments that I enjoyed, I found myself wishing the story had been condensed into a single book with a third act breakup instead of being split into two. After such a huge cliffhanger in book one, this felt a little anticlimactic for me.
Around the 70% mark, I started to lose interest, and the pacing began to drag for me. I also never fully connected with the secret baby trope just because it isn’t one I typically gravitate toward (childfree over here!)That said, I was already invested after book one and definitely wanted to see where Sylas and Anna’s story would go.
Even though this one wasn’t the best fit for me, I know readers who love second chance romances, secret baby trope, and want to see Sylas and Anna’s HEA may have a completely different experience!
Either way, I’m grateful for the ARC and excited to see what E writes next!

★★★★★+
First of all, I want to thank the author for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC. The excitement I felt when I received the email was incredible because, after the ending of Let’s Pretend and that cliffhanger that had me wanting to throw my Kindle across the room, I desperately needed this story. And honestly, I feel like this was exactly what was needed to give Anna and Sylas’ story the perfect ending.
This second part takes place years later, where Anna is now a single mother and we’re able to see everything she’s had to do to build a life for herself and Rosie. At the beginning, we don’t know exactly what caused their relationship to end, but as the story unfolds, we slowly discover everything they went through. I suffered so much alongside both of them, although I definitely hurt a little more for Anna. The love I have for that woman is enormous, and watching her go through so much completely broke my heart.
On Sylas’ side, we see that he still has the same luxurious lifestyle, but we also discover that he’s consumed by resentment and anger. They’re both grieving the relationship they lost, each in their own way, and I really loved how the author portrayed that pain. I also loved seeing that, despite everything, they were still filled with yearning and longing for one another. Sylas… the man that you are, because he was still completely in love with her two years later, even though he was the one who ended the relationship.
Another thing I absolutely loved was Anna’s character development. I loved seeing a woman who refused to let life take away her dreams or her passions, and who fought through everything necessary to build a better life for herself and her daughter.
And I have to talk about Sylas’ parents because… I hated them with my whole heart. Every single time they showed up, I wanted to jump into the book just to get them out of it. That’s why I loved seeing Sylas finally stand up to them and fight for both his family and the love of his life.
I also adored every scene with Anna, Sylas, and Rosie together. They were so incredibly sweet and really made them feel like a family. Although, if I’m being honest, I would’ve loved to get just a few more of those moments.
Anna and Sylas’ romance takes time to rebuild, but it makes complete sense considering everything they went through. I really appreciated that the author showed how difficult it was for them to trust again, open their hearts, and allow themselves to love each other once more. It made their reconciliation feel so much more real and emotional.
Overall, this was such a beautiful ending to their story. It made me cry, smile, get frustrated, and fall even more in love with these characters. I truly can’t imagine a better ending for Anna and Sylas.

Thank you endlessly to E for this ARC!! I love a second chance romance and I LOOOOVVVEEEE the secret baby trope so I knew I was gonna love this one, and I truly did!
Let's Be Forever is book two in the Taking Risks series, the follow-up to Let's Pretend; we left Silas and Anna at the end of book one in a very uncertain state, and boy oh boy what a cliffhanger it was! Let's Be Forever picks up about four years later, with Anna and Silas not having been in contact during this time, and Anna raising their daughter Rosie on her own. But when Silas is traded to a new hockey team and ends up in Boston, where Anna is now living, it's only a matter of time before the two collide again...
I absolutely adored this book! This story was chocker-block full of angst, yearning, and piping hot chemistry; I forgot just how spicy Anna and Silas were 👀
E definitely delivered with the secret baby trope, and both the sweet dad and the yearning loverboy goodness from Silas! You really feel how much both Silas and Anna miss one another, and how much they're still mourning the breakdown of their relationship. When they come back into each other's lives, Silas really works so hard to earn back Anna's trust which I really appreciated; I really loved seeing both of their growth but I was really glad that we got to see Silas working through his family dynamics more than anything. Anna is so strong and has been through so much, and I loved that we got to see her achieve the dreams she's worked so hard for!

I really loved the flashbacks, and getting to see some of the moments between Let's Pretend and Let's Be Forever, when Silas and Anna were at their best (and occasionally their worst). It was nice to fill in some of the blanks through the flashbacks.
Sylas and Anna's love story is a slow journey but hard fought for, and so satisfying to see them get their forever, together <3 I'm sad to be saying goodbye to this little world but what a perfect way to close the chapter on Anna and Silas.
Let's Be Forever is book two in the Taking Risks series, the follow-up to Let's Pretend; we left Silas and Anna at the end of book one in a very uncertain state, and boy oh boy what a cliffhanger it was! Let's Be Forever picks up about four years later, with Anna and Silas not having been in contact during this time, and Anna raising their daughter Rosie on her own. But when Silas is traded to a new hockey team and ends up in Boston, where Anna is now living, it's only a matter of time before the two collide again...
I absolutely adored this book! This story was chocker-block full of angst, yearning, and piping hot chemistry; I forgot just how spicy Anna and Silas were 👀
E definitely delivered with the secret baby trope, and both the sweet dad and the yearning loverboy goodness from Silas! You really feel how much both Silas and Anna miss one another, and how much they're still mourning the breakdown of their relationship. When they come back into each other's lives, Silas really works so hard to earn back Anna's trust which I really appreciated; I really loved seeing both of their growth but I was really glad that we got to see Silas working through his family dynamics more than anything. Anna is so strong and has been through so much, and I loved that we got to see her achieve the dreams she's worked so hard for!

I absolutely loved getting the backstory behind why book one ended the way it did. It added so much depth and made me appreciate these characters even more. And Sylas? His groveling was absolutely top-tier. When this man knows what he wants, he goes all in, and I was rooting for him every step of the way. I also loved seeing a more vulnerable side of him. He wasn't afraid to express his emotions, and it made his redemption arc feel so earned and incredibly satisfying.
Can we also talk about the spice? HOLY. WOW. Let's just say this is not the kind of book you want someone reading over your shoulder! 🔥

Ahhh I was so happy to be back with these characters!! Especially with the way the last book ended. Omg the worst cliffy, but it was such a good set up for some angst, a lot of groveling, and the most precious happy ever after. I loved the way Sylas and Anna's (and sweet Rosie!!) story wrapped up.
The cliffhanger at the end of the last book was brutal and naturally, I had a ton of questions at the start of this one. We got a lot of flashback scenes which were honestly criminal because of how painful they were - both by showing how good things once were and the aftermath post break-up. It killed me to see how far they'd strayed from each other, but I loved that fate brought them back together in Boston!!
There is nothing I love more than surprise pregnancy/secret baby and Sylas definitely delivered on being the absolute BEST dad to Rosie. It broke my heart to see how devastated he was to have missed out on so much and to realize how deep his parents betrayal went, but he stepped up immediately. The way he was immediately enamored with Rosie was beyond precious. I love the way he loved both her and Rosie. His love was all encompassing, fierce, and unconditional.
Anna is a queen who deserved the world. I admired her strength and perseverance through all of the obstacles that had been put in her way. To see her realize her dreams and open up her own bakery was everything!! I also appreciated the way she made Sylas work for her trust back. She knew her worth and deserved to be treated like the queen she was!!
Again, the spice in this was hot in the most unexpected ways. I loved the balance between praise/degradation but also the way Anna and Sylas would each give and take control. Their chemistry was magnetic and ugh they were so good together.
Anyway, I loved this and I hope we get more from the side characters because I definitely see the potential there!!

One thing E. Salvador has always done is write the perfect men who know how to yearn and the grovel like their life depends on it. Sylas is no exception! We get both POV's in present with flashbacks woven in that are triggered by deja vu moments. It's a slow, hard, devastating, but rewarding reveal.
Anna still has her calm demeanor and rational thinking that perfectly balances Sylas emotionally intrusive thoughts and reactions. But together, their chemistry is still 10/10. The yearning from this MAN and their understanding of each other creates this all encompassing love that I just eat up. The burn was BURNING. The fire is in the pages. He still calls her Meu Bem and worships her even when she stood her ground - as she should! He really worked for that second chance, what more could I as a reader want?

Anna and Sylas finally got the happy ending they deserved, and I honestly couldn't be happier for them.
Anna is an absolute badass. She's a single mom who was forced to rebuild her life after being abandoned by the people who should have loved and supported her the most. Her own family turned their backs on her, the father of her child seemingly wanted nothing to do with them, and despite having every reason to give up, she created a beautiful life for herself and her daughter. I admired her strength so much, and my heart broke for everything she had to endure.
Then there's Sylas. I was so relieved that he didn't become the kind of person his parents were. I'll admit, I was furious with him for breaking Anna's heart, but everything changed once the truth came out. Finding out that he had been lied to all those years and never even knew Anna was pregnant completely changed everything.
And the moment he discovers he has a daughter? My heart didn't stand a chance.
Sylas is the definition of yearning and groveling done right. He never made excuses for the past. Instead, he did everything he could to earn Anna's forgiveness and become the father and partner they both deserved. The love and devotion he had for his girls melted my heart.
I completely understood why Anna struggled to let him back in. After everything she'd been through, trusting him again wasn't easy. But watching Sylas patiently prove himself, over and over again, made their second chance feel so rewarding.
Their chemistry was somehow even better this time around. The tension, the longing, and the undeniable love between them leaped off the pages. And a man on his knees for the woman he loves? I'll never get tired of reading that.
This was such a beautiful and satisfying conclusion to the Taking Risks duet. Seeing Anna and Sylas find their way back to each other after everything they endured made every emotional moment worth it.

E doesn’t miss. This book was everything I needed it to be for Sylas and Anna’s HEA and made the cliff hanger at the end of Let’s Pretend worth it. I loved how they find each other again. I loved how absolutely yearny and grovelly Sylas was to get Anna back. We love a man who yearns, begs, grovels and crawls to his woman!!! And Sylas does them all, like the real man he is.
Three years after Sylas breaks Anna’s heart, her life is going well. She finally owns her own bakery and has a 2.5 year old names Rosie. Yup, you guessed it, it’s Sylas’ baby. Anna is still heartbroken, not only for herself but for Rosie. Sylas is in the same city as Anna and doesn’t even know it. This man, before he even sees her again, states that he would do anything for a second chance with Anna. When they finally come face to face, all their truths are laid bare but is it enough to make it in this lifetime?
E, girl, you just keep feeding us the MMC’s that are absolutely perfect in every way. Sylas was a man on a mission to not only have Rosie in his life but was not giving up on Anna. I don’t even know how Anna stayed as strong as she did because if the love my life came back and said all the things Sylas did, I would have folded like a lawn chair. There were so many times I kicked my feet and melted. Oh and the amount of times this man had a crash out, I was laughing so hard during those parts.
Anna was one of FMC’s that was strong and independent, could have accepted more help but the way she was burned, no wonder this girl tried to do it all on her own. The banter between her Sylas was literal foreplay. And the way that she made Sylas feel seen and made his mental health a priority, loved every part of that.
This is a slow burn but the tension building is absolutely delicious in every way. This man may seem sweet with his words to Anna but he is pure filth in the bedroom. They both are honestly. This man begs and crawls for just a taste of Anna. But he also does the same to her.

At first it was the heartbreaking kind that had me wanting to reach through the book and shake them, but then it slowly turned into that delicious, flirty tension that had me smiling like an idiot. The banter, the chemistry, the build-up between them… E. Salvador knows exactly how to make you feel every single ounce of tension between two characters in every single book i’ve read front her including this one!
And the secret baby trope??? Done SO well. It added so much emotion and depth to their story without taking away from the romance. Seeing them navigate everything that came with it while still trying to figure out their feelings was such a ride.

Honestly, I have so much to say, but I’m struggling to find the right words, and I feel a little urge to cry and it’s precisely because this book was so WOW, so moving, so beautiful… that I think the best way to sum up my review is by explaining how it made me feel. I won’t keep it a secret: I received this ARC and hadn’t read Book 1 yet, so I took a break and went to read it—and honestly? THANK GOD I didn’t read it first, because with that cliffhanger, I would’ve gone crazy waiting so long, so I finished one and started the other right away.
Sylas and Anna: they’re simply here to stay and become some of my FAVORITE reads. I’m not a huge fan of college romance (I don’t know, it’s just me), but I know I should give it more chances because there really are good stories out there, and theirs is proof of that. These two are the perfect example of how a romance filled with second chances, angst, and secrets can be the best formula for a FIVE-STAR book. Do you have any idea what an agonizing experience it was to read this book, navigating through pain, loss, and, at the same time, happiness? Anna is perhaps one of the most resilient women I’ve ever read about, and why do I call her resilient? Because she fought for everything: her dreams, her life, her relationships, her daughter. She did everything she could to get where she’d always wanted to be, and even though it cost her tears and a lot of pain, she’s there, giving it her all. Honestly, I really identified with her when it comes to pursuing dreams; I’ve always believed that people who fight are the ones who always come out on top, and even more so if they risk everything. Anna is a clear example of what it means to move forward with a broken heart. On the other hand, Sylas is a man who, in theory, is broken: his family is a mess, the love of his life isn’t with him, and finally, after so much, he feels that life is allowing him to move forward (despite having had it all) and to realize what he wants most in life: a family.
I think what I liked MOST about the book was Sylas’s reaction when he found out about his big surprise: he’s a dad (this isn’t a spoiler—it’s part of the tropes), and he handled it as maturely and appropriately as possible. The sensitivity, patience, and love he showed were incredible. And I remember reading this line in another book, but I want to highlight it here: “I thought the love I felt for my daughter would compete with the love I feel for her mother, but instead, it just doubled,” and that’s basically how I felt reading about him with his little girl.
Anyway, thank you, E. Salvador, for writing such a wonderful story. This is the first time I’ve read your work, and this duo will undoubtedly be my absolute favorite in the whole world. Thank you for the ARC and for trusting me with this wonderful release!!

I think what I liked MOST about the book was Sylas’s reaction when he found out about his big surprise: he’s a dad (this isn’t a spoiler—it’s part of the tropes), and he handled it as maturely and appropriately as possible. The sensitivity, patience, and love he showed were incredible. And I remember reading this line in another book, but I want to highlight it here: “I thought the love I felt for my daughter would compete with the love I feel for her mother, but instead, it just doubled,” and that’s basically how I felt reading about him with his little girl.
Anyway, thank you, E. Salvador, for writing such a wonderful story. This is the first time I’ve read your work, and this duo will undoubtedly be my absolute favorite in the whole world. Thank you for the ARC and for trusting me with this wonderful release!!

I really loved this! Secret baby + second chance + he grovels are some of my FAVOURITE book tropes together. Silas is FINEEEE AF. If “golden retriever in the streets, freak in the sheets” was an mmc, it’s him. The man is unhinged level dedicated to her. I was SWOONING for half the book because he says what he means and he means what he says. He was getting her back no matter what it took.

The spice was NEXT LEVEL. I usually pass over books with any form of heavy degradation/dominant-submissive, but I’m so glad I chose to read this one. Outside of the bedroom he was the biggest golden retriever and I think I enjoyed it more than normal because it went both ways. Even the scenes that weren’t actually spicey held so much tension and yearning. The jealous scene when she’s on the date will live rent free in my head for a while.

Words can't express how much I enjoyed Anna and Sylas's story and the beautiful conclusion to their story. One of my favorite things about this book was how well the BDSM and kink elements were written. I can honestly say it's one of the best portrayals I've read. Even if some of their preferences aren't necessarily my cup of tea, I definitely left me hot and bothered🥵 . The chemistry between Anna and Sylas was undeniable. Their intimate scenes were incredibly hot, but what stood out most was the care and intention behind them. ❤️🔥
I loved that the degradation and power dynamics remained in the bedroom and within a consensual, safe space that allowed them to connect on a deeper level (no pun intended😉). It was never used as a way to humiliate or diminish one another outside of their dynamic. Instead, it became another way for them to communicate trust, vulnerability, and love. I just finished Let’s Be Forever by E. Salvador, and it was absolutely worth the wait.
After finishing Let’s Pretend, I remember turning the pages over and over because I couldn’t believe that cliffhanger. There was no way it could end like that! So when I had the opportunity to read Let’s Be Forever as an ARC, I couldn’t wait to jump back into Sylas and Anna’s story—and it did not disappoint.
This book had everything I love in a romance. The pregnancy trope, second chances, undeniable longing, family drama, emotional growth, and two characters who were desperately trying to find their way back to each other. Every chapter had me completely invested.
Sylas completely won me over. He wasn’t willing to lose Anna a second time, and watching him fight for the woman he loved was everything I wanted from his character. Seeing him step up, especially once he understood everything Anna had been carrying on her own, made me love him even more.
Anna’s journey was just as powerful. Everything she’d been through shaped the choices she made, and I appreciated that her healing wasn’t rushed. Watching these two learn to communicate, rebuild trust, and finally find their way back to one another made every emotional moment worth it.
By the end, I felt so happy and complete for these characters. Their ending was exactly what I had been hoping for, and I honestly wasn’t ready to say goodbye to them.

The way that i’m able to consume an E.Salvador book in less than a day needs go be studied. She continues to keep me hooked to every book that she writes. First off I want to say a big thank you to her and her team for allowing to read this ARC. Sylas and Anna have been stuck in my head from the moment I was introduced to them in Let’s Pretend. After that cliffhanger Let’s Be Forever instantly became my most anticipated of 2026 and it did not disappoint. I found myself flying through this book.
One thing about E’s writing is that she makes her characters so relatable. Anna is grappling with the fear of relying on someone and wanting to do everything herself. She’s always felt pushed away by people in turn causing her to keep her to keep those close to her at a distance. Her breakup with Sylas just made her even more guarded. It was very interesting to see her fighting with herself about what she wants. Loved that Sylas understood this and just continued to show her that he wouldn’t ever hurt her again.
Sylas loves to be in control but I’m not sure if he ever was. His parents heavily controlled him and it really took a toll on his mental health. He always had to suppress his feelings leading to their biggest conflict. I’m glad it finally ended with him standing up for himself!!
I’m in love with Sylas, Anna and Rosie. Also was she hinting as a possible relationship between Thea and Marc??? I feel like something is going on between them. This was a very well written book and I will definitely be recommending. :)

The excitement I had when I got the email of this arc was through the roof. After reading the novella and being left in that cliffhanger this novel is the perfect conclusion to Anna’s and Sylas’ story.
They’re parents! This book begins as a time jump where we see Anna living and trying to provide as a single mother. To the reader it’s unclear what happened post the novella but as the story unravels we get to see the truth behind it. The reader discovers that Sylas life is still full of luxurious and riches but he’s full of anger and resentment. Both morning what they had but Anna more cautious about Sylas coming back into her life than anything given their daughter.
The book was fast paced. I was able to finish it in one day. The use of memory to move the plot along was a great device. Along with the use of language to understand more of how Anna was raising Rosie. The small scenes between the three of them were so adorable; I wish we would’ve gotten more. It built the foundation of them feeling like a family.
Sylas and Anna’s love story was slow to reconcile but the reader understood that it was needed given how hurt Anna was. I love how we get to see the struggles the two of them have with letting others in because it makes you understand the hesitation of them coming together.
I love this ending to their story and E. Salvador continues to build these emotional stories!

E. Salvador easily became one of my favorite writers because her style of writing, along with her knack for writing beautiful couples and cozy found families, is a perfect combo for a great read. Sylas and Anna’s relationship journey was raw, and I felt all the angst, yearning and vulnerability (and the STEAM) that blossomed between them in their second chance season.
While you don’t have to read Let’s Pretend (Book 1) before reading this one, I HIGHLY recommend it (as does the author in her note, since this story is a duet). The background of Sylas and Anna’s relationship, as well as their friend group starts during their college years in Let’s Pretend. If you read as a standalone, just know one or two things may be confusing but if you’re fine with that, then hop on in!

The perfect ending to Sylas and Anna's story, I was feining to find out what was happening after that cliffhanger for Let's Pretend😭. (go read that one first!)
This takes a place 4 years after book 1, so we're thrown right into the drama which I loved, sue me. The amount of angst, the groveling, the pleading from Sylas. IT WAS EVERYTHING TO ME. I'm picky when it comes to second chance romance but this was just so well done, I was living. It was so sweet to watch Anna and Sylas find their way back to each other, and ofc the moments with Rosie had me melting into a puddle it was so cute.
I didn't expect to like the side characters this much, Em, Jenny, and Maya were the best support group for Anna and it was so sweet that she had people rallying behind her. Sylas's friends were so funny too...makes me wonder if there's any future plans for any of them🫣.
okay, the SPICE. it must be addressed. My jaw was on the floor. The way I had to put down my kindle at one point so I could take a lap around the room bc jesus. It was hot. they literally matched each others freak everytime and I was flabbergasted.
