Not all of the recipes are necessarily easy, but so far the recipes we have tried have been pretty great. We are rising this book to help teach my kid some foundational principles of baking and it’s been so great for that. I even found some recipes that I would like to try on my own!

The desserts in this book are really beautiful, but I wouldn't call them all "deceptively easy." There's way too much use of fondant for it to be considered easy. The cookie tacos are adorable, if intricate, and I saved the recipe for a special occasion. If you're looking for easy desserts, this cookbook isn't it. If you want modern, beautiful, artful desserts, have at it.
