Summarize this book in one sentence. We are all gods and we should look within ourselves to find a good .

I have spent a lifetime reading and finding benefit from mystic traditions and wisdom literature from many cultures . This book takes quotes from some of those cultures out of context to support the view that we are essentially gods or contain a divine spark. To that end, we should look within ourselves to find all the good in the world . I've seen within myself , in the words of the great profit the Incredible Hulk , " you wouldn't like me when I am angry ." I am certainly not a god, and goodness is not at the center of my soul . And I guarantee that anyone can have their buttons pushed to the point that they will reveal the darkness of their own souls unless they are delusional .

Although I am not a Rosicrucian, I am deeply interested in their teaching, initiations and wisdom in observing this world. This little book combines some of such wisdom sayings but they are not entirely Rosicrucian. In fact, quite some are oriental ones like Indian (Ghandi), Chinese (Doe Te Ching) and Egypt (Sun worshipper). As colorful as the system of Rosicrucian it is, I do find the quotes and texts quite inspiring and soul-searching. I recommend it to anyone who has interest in pursuing Rosicrucian system of philosophy and their view of the universe, and the book would be more involving if you have some basic understanding of the Rosicrucian.

Mistakes were made. From the cover I thought this was a title from a century ago like the Golden Dawn cult stuff - which I am fascinated by… so I did not notice that it was published in 2015.

Then it is a series of inspirational quotes from various people and a couple of scattered ones from the Rosicrucian Order… and that is about it.

But I finished it.

It felt a little bit Scientology like - and researching it now, it seems Hubbard WAS a member and did two neophyte level courses before rushing off and making his own religion that could be seen as based on the same structure.

YIKES.

This is another book by the AMORC. It starts out talking about not needing any dogma or any 'middle men' for spirituality. They support the quest for self-knowledge. The quotes are from many different sources including the Tao Te Ching, Albert Einstein, Plato and various others. The quotes themselves are very good and it all makes for an interesting book.

Excellent read. Highly recommended m

Full of intriguing tidbits. Experience for yourself.

Give yourself a wider experience with only a few morsels or saturate in total immersion, either way this one of those lite reads that lend themselves to more than merely so much filler and lack of substance.

This is a collection of quasi-mystical and often "too-vague-to-mean-much" quotations from various sources, including Epictetus, MLK, Ghandi, and Marcus Aurelius to be used in accenting Rosicrucian practices. Some of the quotes are good advice. It's too few nuggets and too short. I thought the introduction was the most-compelling part.

A great selection of quotes from various people and traditions touching on the mysteries and transcendent nature of mysticism. If you are looking for a feel for mystical thought, this collection will provide a many faceted diamond of quotes and knowledge.

A lot of great quotes in this book. I think the Author is in the Rosicrucian Order but he draws his inspiration from numerous sources. In any case, it was great material to read and he accomplishes being very broad-banded in his perspective.

Related to everyday life

I liked most of the quotes. They are related to your day to day life. One must read once a day or go through some of them as you find time. Give them time to sink, as you grow your thoughts deepens. They will help you to develop better perspective of life.

BEYOND NORMAL THOUGHTS

This book is full of quotes that can be read in one hour but return to often to look up a saying to help understand the self and the purpose of life to the self. Deep meanings to ponder and discuss.

I liked this, from Einstein: "The most beautiful and most profound experience is the sensation of the mystical. It is the sower of all true science. ... To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their primitive forms - this knowledge, this feeling is at the center of true religiousness."

By and large it was what makes conservatives laugh at liberals and what makes liberals scratch their heads about conservatives. In other words, my problem with self help is that I can help myself by myself. I believe in me. Take your “secrets” someplace else. Because I know the truth- as Jon Anderson once sang- don’t surround yourself with yourself. Which, looking back at what I just wrote, I contradicted myself.

The messages are clear.

These messages are clear, for thousands of years. I wondered why the Creator play such a game, time and understandings.
