Can your church be both seeker-friendly and spirit-filled? In Clear the Stage , Scott Wilson and John Bates share how God gave them a vision to marry these two divergent streams of church practice. You don’t have to choose between the old revivalist mentality and the more recent seeker-friendly plan. Instead, the authors present a whole new way of doing church that clears the stage so the Spirit of God can do what only He can. Based on their own life-changing experiences, Scott and John share how you can use the sacred traditions of the Pentecostal experience to reach out to the lost while also discipling believers in a new and relevant way.
They was a good book with some great points and while I think it could be very applicable for leaders/pastors I wish it had more for the everyday person to clear their own stage and make more room for god in their every day life.
Highly recommend! Scott's story of giving back His church to the Lord is one that should be read by all pastors and church leaders. It is possible to be both relevant and Spirit filled. This practical guide helps to guide pastors to examine their current way of doing church and once again become submitted to God.
It is not about me doing good things for God. It is about me doing God's things! As leaders of God's church we must clear the stage of all the "good" clutter and make room for the Spirit of the Lord to do miraculous things! Thank you Scott and John for being so transparent! Highly recommended!
