I was hooked from the very first chapter! This book delivers gothic atmosphere, dark secrets, and top-tier romantic tension.
Madeline October is a fantastic FMC. She is sharp, skeptical, and fiercely grounded. But the real highlight for me was the dynamic between Maddie and Heaton Dashwood. The mysterious, silver-eyed ghost-boy energy brought so much delicious "is he keeping me safe or pulling me into danger?" tension to every single scene. Their slow-burn chemistry kept me flipping pages. An absolute must-read if you love eerie haunted estates and morally gray love interests!
