Hazel Kelly is an Amazon bestselling author who writes sweet and steamy romance that will make you smile all over.
When she's not traveling the globe in search of cozy hammocks to write in, she enjoys tackling her tbr list with a nice big glass of anything will do. She lives in Dublin with her favorite Irishman and their three-legged cat.
Best friends to lovers is one of my fav kind of reads. Lucy and Aiden are best friends, have been for years. They know and accept everything about each other.
Lately Lucy finds that she is feeling more that friendly and starts to wonder if Aiden could ever reciprocate her feelings. Now, during this time Aiden has a girlfriend and is realizing for himself that there just MIGHT be something more to Lucy and his relationship.
I had a few problems with this book. The writing was rather juvenile and that gave my reading of it a choppy flow. I found myself wanting to skim, and I NEVER skim!! I wasn't too sure of Aiden as boyfriend material. He comes across extremely shallow and I never really got into him. Lucy was a bit immature. Then, it ends.... and I realize that this is part of a series. I just don't know if I am interested enough to read more.
There is one thing that I wish the author would have delved into more, and I am sure she does eventually. But Lucy has a secret and I think if that were explored and Aiden found out there could be some really sweet scenes, and if it would have been in this book, I would have definitely read the rest of the series. As of now, I am meh on it. Too many books, too little time!!
I was given an ARC copy for an honest review. As a fan of Hazel Kelly already this book did not disappoint. Book 2 picks up the story of best friends Lucy and Aiden and will they or won't they get together.
I'm not telling!!!!!
Is Aidens girlfriend still in the picture?
Still not telling, you'll need to read the book and find out and its definitely worth reading
I can't wait for the third book in the Fated Series to be released.
Big surprise!! Another five stars for Hazel Kelly. She has the talent of putting together these short, jam packed stories. I love the style! I am officially in love with Aiden!! Very anxious to read the next in this series. Who wouldn't want to end up with their best friend?? These two have basically experimented around the world, and obviously need each other...We will see!!
So I read the first book in the series, and I had mixed emotions but liked it enough to continue. I will say I did like this book, but it suffers from most of the last problems of the last book. It's still really short, and I can use this series for in-between longer reads but it takes me under an hour to actually read it.
I will say I am a bit disappointed in Aiden, yeah he finds himself attracted to his best friend, but it seems like he stopped caring about Lucy as a person and now just wants to have some naughty time. Lucy, on the other hand, is right to have reservations, she has some baggage that I won't spoil so she's worried about Aiden finding out about it. BUT SHE ALSO IS THINKING ABOUT THEIR FRIENDSHIP.
Aiden just seems like a horndog and just keeps pushing Lucy. Sometimes it is cute and other times it's kinda creepy. I'll continue to read it but I really hope his attitude gets better. Think with your big brain Aiden please!
Aiden has finally wised up and broke up with Chelsea . Now that he has time on his hands, he realizes he’s been dating high maintenance models and what he really wants is someone who makes him happy, makes him laugh, someone like Lucy.
Aiden invited Lucy over after a night of drinking but the urge to kiss Lucy is overpowering, so he does. Now he wants more but Lucy is still afraid that if they have more, they won’t stay friends if anything goes wrong. Can’t wait to start the next book,
Synopsis ~ Lucy and Aiden have been best friends since they were kids.
So Lucy's had plenty of practice ignoring his handsome features, athletic body, and wicked sense of humor, which is for the best. After all, they've been in the friend zone so long there's no hope of escaping it.
At least, that's what Lucy keeps telling herself...
Thoughts ~ Five short books to complete a story. I needed something quick and short to get over a bit of a reading slump. Not the most amazing book I've ever read but something that I needed!
I got the first two books some time back and didn’t realize that there were 5 books in this series. (I can’t stand it when and author splits up a book into chapters and sells them as novellas) This read as a chapter to me. It had a beginning introduction and the starting of a plot and then just stops. Guess what… though, I liked the story (as a whole) Friends to lovers stories are one of my favs.
If this isn't one of THE best, best friends to lovers book I've read I don't know what is. The characters are amazing, I liked the fact that the author mixed serious issues in with the flirty and charmingness of the book. I love love love LOOOOOVE the text messages between the main characters, it literally has you hooked after every page, I can't wait for the next book!😍😍😍❤❤❤
The story itself is pretty good. However, its annoying how they hook you with a free book in the series and then the following books are a little over 100 pages and get more expensive with each book. If it was just one book, it would be good. But not worth the trouble or money of buying one every every 125 pages.
Too short to keep reading. Maybe if all the books were .99. But not even a steamy romance. But the book is well wrote but the author is greedy & basically gives you chapter s at a time. I'm not paying $2.99 for not even an hour worth of reading.
I enjoyed this story, it wrapped itself up nicely and left you interested enough to read more of this series without feeling as if it stopped on a cliffie.
Note: I haven't read Fated #1 but I don't feel that I have missed anything out storywise.
“Well, I lied. On the contrary, I have every intention of doing it again”
Best quote of the book and I wish a man would tell me this. I love how he puts it all out there with no regrets. I really like these two characters but when he said this I was totally on his side and rooting for him
This series is get to getting so good! I literally can't stop reading. It would be so awesome to see this series turned into a movie because it's so so good and I would buy all the dvds.
A good read following on from the first book. However I do think these books could have been rolled into 2-3 books rather than 5 separate mini stories as they are all following the same storyline.
This one was a little bit spicier than the first one.
These books are great but they should have been one long book. I’m glad they’re on kindle unlimited otherwise I probably wouldn’t have wasted any money reading them.
