This is friends-to-enemies-to-forbidden-workplace-romance? I'm a sucker for a story that starts in the middle of the action with flashbacks to the past to slowly build suspense. I was desperate to figure out what tore Chase and Jeremiah apart. I couldn’t imagine sweet Chase doing anything malicious to anyone, so I had to keep turning pages to find out what happened.

The dynamic between these two was so fun. Jeremiah is definitely a black cat who was trying(and failing) desperately to keep his guard up and cling to professionalism. Chase is the golden retriever who wins everyone over. Watching Jeremiah come to terms with understanding sometimes you have to risk it all for what you truly want was satisfying.

This was another little spicy, fun, low angst read for this series, and I’m hoping there’s more to come.

Nothing like my watch warning me about a high heart rate during the first kiss scene 🥰🥰🥰🥰 And they say reading isn't a sport....

It's been YEARS since a book had me short of breath and my heart pounding just because of a goddamn KISS SCENE. I literally felt like this guy from Ratatouille

...anyway.... THIS BOOK!!!!! THIS GODDAMN BOOK HAD MY EMOTIONS ALL OVER THE PLACE.

It's so so SO well written that I could actually feel all the emotions alongside the characters, as if whatever was happening to them was actually happening to me. I felt anxious, swooned, heartbroken, soft, angry, jealous, happy, scared; YOU NAME IT.

Also can we talk about how fucking funny this book is??? I was cracking the fuck up at Chase's jokes and Jeremiah's first jealousy towards Honey.... since she's a.... "mousy type." If you know, you know.

And the side characters actually felt like side CHARACTERS because they get a lot of page time and are really connected to the MCs, so they're not just "popping in when needed," but actually go through the story alongside the MCs.

But they also don't steal the MCs' showtime at the same time??? What is this wizardry....

This isn't the spiciest literature of them all and honestly, it didn't need to be, but I still caught myself kinda wanting more?? There's only one ACTUAL sex scene and a lot of foreplay before that, plus a few scenes where they sneak around and are dirty together, but I still wanted more???? Idk, maybe it's more of a me problem 🙈

Huge thank you to Ella for accepting me onto her ARC team and for giving me the opportunity to read R&R in advance and discuss it with other fellow readers 💕💕💕💖💖💖

‼️SPOILERS‼️

I have not read the first book in this series and I was kind of worried I would be lost but you can totally read this one as a standalone. I’ve only read one book by Ella and she sucked me in this book just like the last book I read.

Chase and Jeremiah were simply perfect from the moment I started this book. I love me a good friends to enemies back to friends to lovers. Also, mix in a whole forbidden romance in the mix and I’m all in one hundred percent.

I laughed so much in this book. This book is full of laughter and so much emotion that you’re only going to want more and more. Also, the found family in this book was absolutely phenomenal and I was intrigued.

Mia was the best friend that I wished I had. I envied the way that Mia and Chase were together. Ryan had me laughing so much because of his shenanigans. And Theo, I eventually grew to love him too.

I loved the push and pull with these two. Jeremiah trying to not want Chase had me giggling and that one kiss.

The yellow crocs scene had to probably have me laughing so hard. But I will say that my favorite moment was Jeremiah had gotten Honey things for his apartment. Like he got her things for when Chase brought her to Jeremiah’s place. So freaking cute! And don’t get me started when Chase paid the barista. Haha.

And the whole Chase explaining to Jeremiah of that one moment in school. Ugh, I just love that whole scene because it was a conversation that needed to happen. Jeremiah listened to Chase’s every word.

And the ending, let’s just say that my mouth dropped open. I freaking devoured this book. I could seriously go on and on about how much I loved this book because it’s just THAT good!

If you’re looking for a book with the right of pining, yearning, one MC getting super jealous, the right amount of spice, all the amazing emotions, amazing side characters, this book is so for you!

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

*Beta reader*

Slow burn story about School mates turned enemies now forced to work together years later. Don’t worry, when the spice starts, it’s definitely spicing. Jeremiah the introvert, no-nonsense Boss with a grudge from high school ends up starting at a company with Chase the energetic, former high school quarterback, life of the party 🎸🤘
The energy of the book starts of with the tension between these two and builds into them working their way back to being friends. Soon, with closed proximity and of course Chase’s personality, they start to feel things and soon have to decide to cross that line risking both their jobs or remain professional and bury how they feel.
This book also has some fun side characters that you will love and some you want to throttle 😂 And a cameo at the end that had me kicking my feet smiling and giggling 🤭🥹

Love everything Ella writes and thoroughly enjoyed this one.

This starts out as an ex friends - enemies to lovers, Jeremiah is scorned from what happened during high school and Chase being somewhat the reason for that, now they’re working together and Jer is his boss. They both have to learn how to navigate that after the hurt and resentment. We get flashbacks throughout the book of what happened between them back then and the growth they both had was amazing. Jeremiah learning to let go, be carefree and trust again because sometimes people do change and Chase being able to be himself after suppressing that side of him for so long and also apologize to Jeremiah for what happened so they can close that chapter, move forward and heal, and in the end it all came full circle and that was truly beautiful. MY HEARTTTT. 😭 I would like an invite to the next karaoke night!

This is a slow burn but the tension and yearning is radiating! This is a feel good, heartfelt read and I will accept no slander towards my boys.

I also may have screamed at the cameo of Caleb and Nathan because oh I missed them!! (Caleb supremacy duh) 🙂‍↔️

No surprise that once again Ella had captured my heart and I’m obessed with another couple that I will never stop talking about!

This was my first time reading anything from Ella Kit, so i didn't had any context from book one of the series, and I can attest that you're more than ok by doing this route!

I just felt in love with Chase and Jeremiah's story. Soooo cute and light. Such a heartwarming love story. I loved the way Ella treated the more heavy topics (the trigger warning list will be at the end of this review), giving it its appropriated importance (and characters growth!) without getting rid off the good, cozy, fluffy vibes the book has!

And OH. MY. GOD. I was thrown so my times by the humor of this book?! It's insaneeee. So many belly laughs and unexpected twists and I'm HERE. FOR IT.

Mia was my favorite side character by far. Love my girl and her friendship with Chase! Those two cuties pies!

This was a light, cozy, fluffy, adorable read and I just love a book that is there is warm us with a cute romance with no exaggerated drama. I'll be keeping an eye for anything Ella publishes in the future and will definitely look up her past work!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to review the ARC of this book, Ella. Loved to follow Chase and Jeremiah's journey!

oh! the little details after the chapters numbers? Especially Jeremiah's? 👀 LOVED that little tweak hihi!

This is the Trigger Warnings listed by the author for this book:

- Bullying (including verbal harassment, taunting, and school bullying)
- Internalized conflict about sexuality (Due to anticipated parental rejection)
- Complicated parental relationships (Estranged or distant parents)
- Unsafe or unrealistic sexual practices (MMCs sometimes use non-traditional lubricants)

I had the absolute pleasure of being invited to complete an ARC review for Ella Kit and her amazing new book Rules & Regulations and what a journey that was.

We meet Chase & Jeramiah who despite being anything but friends in their teenage years now have to negotiate working together with Jeramiah being Chases' new boss and before they know it that history is slowly forgotten and sparks start to fly.  Jeramiah no longer wants to follow the rules that he has so closely stuck to for so long... Will he be willing to miss that ferry for Chase?

If you love a MM story with low angst yet insane chemistry this is the story for you.  It's spicy, addictive and i honestly didnt want to put it down.

Rule #1 F the rules..😉 i loved the flow of this book, I loved both Jer and Chase and how they worked through this relationship

When you realize you've fallen for your high-school bully, what else are you to do but give in to your desires?

Chase and Jeremiah had a very rough history. One was a bully, and the other was bullied. But people can change, right?

It definitely worked out for these two after Jer got to know the new Chase and found out he's been wanting him all along.

Oh, and the 🌶🌶🌶 scenes are 10/10, no notes 😉

Oh Ella!! She just knows how to write swoon-worthy romances. This was no different. I loved every minute of this slow burn. Even though these two had a rocky past, it was relatively low angst. All the side characters were great. The humor. Oh the humor was soo good 😃 I laughed. I was kicking my feet while swooning. These two men are just precious together.
Thank you so much to Ella for the ARC! This was such an enjoyable read ♥️

Oh maaaaam you did the thing with this one! I was hooked instantly! And I mean instantly!
This story is about two who were enemies in high school who end up working together at a company
Chase in high school was the mean one and Jeremiah was the target and now Jeremiah is chases boss at the company he’s been at for 3 years they are basically chases family
At first it looks like Jeremiah has forgotten what happened between them in high school so chase dows everything he can to become his friend even bringing him breakfast and Ferraro Roche chocolates! But one night when chase convinces Jeremiah to come out to drinks with them Jeremiah lets it slip he knows who chase is!
Chase is straight Jeremiah is gay but doesn’t know that yet but one of the funniest moments for me is when Chase gets drunk and Jeremiah is the one to bring him home the chemistry during that little part is OFF the charts! But Jere stays back he has conflicting feelings because of what Chase was in high school but the pleading die Jeremiah to stay until he falls asleep is like so so good! Jeremiah notices that Chases apartment is sparse but he’s always buying breakfast and coffees for everyone but when Chase explains why it’s sad basically people are worth investing in they stay but apartments and everything material changes which makes sense later in the book when we find out Chase was in foster care
Jeremiah is the hesitant one because he’s the boss he’s in the position of authority but they kiss anyway and it’s messy and heated and Chase wants more despite this being the first time he’s with a man
They are tasked to work together to bring in this investor and he’s coming early which means they have to work all weekend to get everything ready easy right chase in Jeremiah’s space totally fine! Maaaaam the tension making pizza! The fact that Jer bought honey things so chase would bring his cat with him!?
So many books have that fuck it moment but this one was perfect Jeremiah is sort of rigid in his ways so when he tells Chase a story of him in Bali when he missed the ferry and ending up staying and it was way better this is what Chase uses on him he tells him to miss the ferry and that fuck it moment was delicious!
I loved their spicy moments because it was endearing Chase learning how to be himself with a man
Their FaceTime calls or the moment in the random office Jere is so reassuring to him and telling him how he’s doing a good job and chase laps it up!
When the investors come to visit there’s a familiar face Theo the one Jeremiah was friends with in high school and Chase is jealoussssss! See the thing in high school they both wanted each other once they talked it out in the present tense they just couldn’t say it to each other but when Chase apologized it was so stupidly sweet!
Theo I really didn’t like him at first especially when he interrupted their shower at pickleball asking him to get drinks and Chase had a right to be jealous BUT Theo was sorta forgiven when he said he was straight and had no feelings for Jeremiah!
Theo and Jeremiah had to keep secrets because they were going behind David’s back about the deal because David was a misogynistic a-hole so that made Chase feel insecure that Jeremiah wasn’t his but he was 10000% and I loved loved seeing Jere grovel!
Their big gala when Theo and Jere’s plan was gonna go off first off when Chase gave Jere a bracelet saying mine on it he said don’t wear it until you’re sure and when he was about to go give his speech at the gala Chase saw him wearing it! But baby that speech at the gala him throwing caution to the wind un front of his coworkers and investors and his dad who’s kinda rigid! Was everything it was swoonnnnn worthy! When Chase went after him freaking out because he was stepping down as COO he could finally finally tell him everything! Of course his dad interrupted and was being an a-hole until Jeremiah stopped him and told him how much Chase and this company meant to him and he actually listened!
This book was everything man it was so intense in some parts because I was terrified they were gonna get caught or there was going to be a nasty 3rd act breakup!
I like that Chase got to become the COO and Mia got his job!
Ugh their first official date Jeremiah makes a itinerary and laminates it!
I loved that Jeremiah was gonna stay for that branch of their company while Theo was in New York!
I bawled that Jeremiah went and found chases birth mother! Their reunion was everything I mean big fat tears when she said he was wanted!
That was his thing he latched on because he was scared people were going to leave him!
But miss maaaaaam the ring inside the Ferraro Roche I died gone completely!
Some fav quotes
“ “Beep. Bop. I want. To suck. Your dick. Beep bop,” she says, mimicking a robot. ”

“Miss the ferry.”  He freezes. “Fuck it,” he growls, under his breath.

“Are you asking if we’re together?”  His eyes soften. “Yeah. I am.” The words hit me right in the chest. He wants me. Me. “Yeah,” I whisper, gripping the back of his neck. “Yeah, you are. You’re all mine, Blackwood.”  You’re all I’ve ever wanted. Jeremiah closes his eyes, resting his forehead on mine. “Damn, it feels good hearing you say that.”

“And suddenly I’m seventeen again. A virgin who never got chosen, or picked, or made to feel special. But this time, the boy…the one boy I wanted the most to like me finally sees me.

“Every day, after you finished your lunch, you’d grab a can of Sprite.”  “You saw that?”  I huff out a laugh. “You’re all I saw.” I sigh deeply. “I didn’t understand why then, but now, knowing what I know about myself, it’s clear as day. I was so fucking into you.”

“Just a little bit? A small murder?”  “No.”

A bracelet. Dark blue and white. Woven with little cube beads. He hands it to me. “I got you this.  I had to put the beads on myself. I know it’s kind of stupid.” I turn it over in my hand. I choke down a breath, my throat suddenly tight. The beads spell: Mine. It’s not stupid. It’s everything. I’ve never been anyone’s “mine” before. “I need to know this means as much to you as it does to me. Until then—don’t wear it.” I meet his eyes. He’s not asking for a promise. He’s asking for certainty. “Okay,” I whisper. I tuck the bracelet into my pocket. “Thank you.”

“I need you to know…being with you feels like being on Koh Lipe Island all of the time. I’d miss that ferry again and again just to spend one more day with you.”  My breath hitches as I watch him turn toward the stage. But it’s not his words that stop me cold. It’s the flash of blue at his wrist. Just the edge of a band peeking out beneath his cufflink as he grooms his hair back.

“Some things,” I say, voice soft, “some people... are worth risking it all for.”

“Miss the ferry,” he murmurs, taking my wrist and pulling back my cuff just enough for the blue bracelet to peek out. I smile softly, nodding. “Exactly.” His brows pinch, gaze darting back to mine. “But… I thought you loved WingMate.”  “I love you more.” ”I love you, Chase. So fucking much. And you don’t have to say it back. I just wanted you to know—“ “I love you too,” he blurts out. “Dammit, Jer. I’ve loved you this whole time.”  Warmth fills me from the inside out. “I know,” I whisper. His eyes sparkle as his grip tightens. “You do?”

Honourable mention for the Dad!! “If you say that he means a lot to you, as does this company…I need to trust that you know what you’re doing.” Dad’s voice comes out soft and defeated. “I’ll be expecting dinner soon with the two of you. I want to know the man my son has…fallen in love with.”

“A Ferrero Rocher?” I let out a nervous chuckle. “Jer, you scared me—“ As I lift the chocolate from the box, something catches the light beneath it. There it is. A simple silver ring with a black ribbon inlaid through the center. “What do you say, Rutherford? Will you take one last risk with me?” “That’s a yes from me, boss.“ I wink.

Rules and Regulations arc by @ellakitauthor

What happens when the kid you bullied in high school is now working side by side with you all these years later? That’s what happens to chase and Jeremiah!

The tension between chase and Jeremiah, was beautiful because you have two people who can own a room dominating this whole situation, and they were so good. You just have to hang out tight with this and enjoy the ride with them and then smile.

The tension of” you know what you did back then.” the back and forth between them was so intense! And can’t help but suck you in! Jeremiah and Chase were everything!

What was so special about them was how they finally crossed this line of putting the past behind, and finally seeing each other as adults and how they were as adults and the bad choices they made as children stopped them from maybe being more.

I loved chase, he just was so sweet and so out of his element when it came to Jeremiah and his feelings. It was like watching a high school crush.

The domestic bliss with these two will have you kicking your feet. They were so cute together! And Jeremiah and his love for chase’s cat, like come on now is that not the cutest?

When the spice in this book hits, it hits it was so yummy! 🥵 Jeremiah that man knows exactly what he wants, how to say it and how to make it happen!! Yes they have to keep it hidden, but keeping it hidden was half the fun with these two!

I love these two, they needed each other and when they finally acknowledged that and got together and told each other how they felt! It was magic!

This is an addictive story truly that will have you not wanting to put the book down because you will be so engrossed in Jeremiah and Chase’s story that they will consume you in the best way possible

This was a 5 star read for me the chemistry between Jeremiah and Chase was undeniable, and the secret office hookups just made it even more enjoyable 🫠.

Chase is well liked and has always appeared to fit in. He loves his job, until one day he learns his new boss is the guy he tormented in highschool.

Jeremiah has grown up and is no longer the kid who gets picked on but old feelings threaten to arise whenever he’s around Chase. Jeremiah is the boss and he is structured, has a routine, and tends to follow the rules- while Chase is the opposite although they are both very good at their jobs. Jeremiah is reluctant to be even be friends with Chase and with good reason- but Chase’s golden retriever energy is relentless.

I enjoyed reading this book so much! I love when a book starts with a flashback- a significant event that deeply shapes the story and characters and you continue to learn about as you read the book. This is what initially pulled me into Rules and Regulations and the pacing of this story and Jeremiah and Chase’s relationship was incredible.

The spice in this book was slow at first but oh my so worth the wait. The chemistry between these two is amazing. There were such tender vulnerable moments between these too that felt so genuine and special. One aspect of the story that stuck with me was Chase contemplating if he’s worth it, if maybe he’s too much. I feel like that might be a feeling many of us can relate to including me. The way Jeremiah makes him feel seen and proves to him that he is worth it was one of my favorite parts of the story ❤️. (Apart from Honey 🐈💖) I also really liked all of the side characters in this- Ryan was hilarious and Mia is such a great friend🫶.

Thank you so much for allowing me to read this as an ARC! Another fantastic book from Ella Kit.

“Well, are we going to play some pickleball or stand here all day admiring Chase’s legs?”

I was so excited to get to read an advanced copy of Rules and Regulations by Ella Kit! I was then even more excited when I realized Ella is a fellow Canadian and the book takes place in Canada!! 🇨🇦

The confused tension between Jeremiah and Chase kept my attention glued to the pages, and I absolutely did not want to put this book down. This book has it all: spice, karaoke, laughs, and men who love cats! Can it get any better than this?

As the night drew on and I realized I was only about halfway through this book, I was hit with SO many emotions. I was devastated knowing I wasn’t going to be able to finish the book that night, but also completely heartbroken to think I was already halfway through it! The realization that I’ll never get to experience that first read through feeling again absolutely wrecked me.

There’s nothing that beats that feeling I get when I’m reading a 5 star book and I know it’s going to completely change my brain chemistry and live in my head rent free for the foreseeable future. This book was SO that.

The tension, the pining, and the jealousy that Chase felt for Jeremiah were so full of thick, juicy feelings that my stomach butterflies turned into bees. 🐝

I absolutely loved the transition of chapter titles for Jeremiah. It was SO on brand for him.

Honestly, this book was incredible, and the ending made me cry. Perfect book. No notes!

First and foremost, a MASSIVE thank you to Ella Kit for letting me read an ARC of this incredible book! 🫶🏻

I genuinely don’t know what Ella puts in her books, but every single time I pick one up, I become addicted, and this book was no expectation. I devoured this book! I was hooked from the very first page all the way to the end.

This was such a cute, fun, sweet, and spicy read, and I found myself laughing, swooning, and smiling throughout the entire book.

Chase & Jeremiah have my WHOLE heart ❤️ Despite everything they went through when they were younger, their chemistry was still absolutely undeniable. I loved watching Chase get all possessive over Jer, he did NOT want anyone anywhere near his man! 🤣 And Jeremiah? The way he made Chase feel so seen and loved, while also reminding him of his worth was so heartwarming!

Also, Chase being a cat dad? LOVED IT! My girl Honey had not only Chase but also Jer wrapped around her little paw, and I was absolutely here for it!

I thought the storyline involving the past bullying was handled really well. I especially loved that they had a genuine conversation about what happened and were both able to get closure from it, rather than it simply being brushed under the rug and never discussed again. It added a lot of emotional depth to their story and made their relationship feel even more meaningful.

The side characters were all amazing, too! Shoutout to my girl Mia! She’s officially my fav, and I desperately need a best friend like her in my life.

If you’re looking for a fun, addictive, sweet, and spicy read. I definitely recommend picking up Rules & Regulations when it’s released August 25th!

Ella Kit - this was exactly what I wanted it to be: well-written, sweet, funny, sexy, charming, and full of feel-good moments that made me fall in love with both Jeremiah and Chase.

The two MMCs dare to ask themselves if they can be honest about who they were, who they are, and what it means to allow someone to change. They're intoxicating, intense, and willing to break all the Rules and Regulations for love.

I giggled and blushed and laughed out loud at so many little moments: offensively short green shorts, free breakfast in exchange for a date (IYKYK), ju jitsu grappling, mint chocolate chip ice cream over broken hearts, sunglasses and air guitar (what I wouldn't give to see Chase rock that stage), and Honey the mousy girlfriend.

Their chosen family and long-time friends - Mia, Heather, Theo, Ryan - are well-developed, distinct, and add to the story, bringing the relationships and Jeremiah and Chase to life. The whole cast is imperfect and messy and real, which allows them to show up for each other again and again. They're cheering for each other while also holding each other accountable when they mess up.

I didn't want it to end. And yeah, the spice is very satisfying. Very.

Tropes you'll find inside:

Forbidden office romance
Pining golden retriever x secretly yearning black cat
Rule follower x rule breaker
Bi-awakening
Risking it all for love
Secret hook-ups
Low angst

Arc review

I was so excited to get my hands on this baby and to be able to ARC read this for Ella. And she didn’t disappoint.

This is a kind of enemies to lovers forbidden workplace romance, but it very much has an “always been you” vibe.

We follow our golden retriever and cat daddy, Chase, a recently promoted Marketing Manager, who does everything for everyone in his life. He radiates sunshine but when Jeremiah comes back into his life, we see a far more layered version.

Jeremiah is the new COO of the company Chase works for, and he is definitely the black cat of our couple. He is rigid, controlled, socially awkward and holding onto a lot of pain from his high school years.

Through flashbacks we see why he and Chase are “enemies” and why Jeremiah struggles to trust the version of Chase he sees now.

The mutual yearning in this book is the reason why I love MM romance so much.

Ella has crafted a beautiful slow burn, with amazing found family vibes, and two MMC’s who are so down bad for each other, when they finally give in, it’s so good!! Also I’m always here for a bi-awakening.

There wasn’t a whole heap of spice in the book. But like anything Ella writes it was 🥵

If you want a low-angst, slow burn read with two beautifully imperfect but perfect for each other MMC’s, definitely add this to your TBR

was lucky enough to receive this as an ARC from the amazing Ella Kit. Her books never disappoint and this was no different.
Chase and Jeremiah have known each other since high school but things ended badly for Jeremiah. He was quiet and shy, was made an easy target for bullies. Chase being someone everyone loved couldn’t handle Jeremiah not giving him the same attention as others. 1 bad choice caused Jeremiah to dislike Chase. Jeremiah grew up and vowed to not be that same boy who was a target anymore. Chase works for WingMate a dating app company. He is close with all his coworkers, especially his boss. When he finds out she will be taking a set back to start a family and a new COO will taking over. To his immediate discomfort, it’s Jeremiah. Chase the people pleaser can’t have his boss disliking him. Jeremiah certainly pushed back on Chases advances for friendship. Along the way lines cross and they find themselves having a secret relationship. Against company rules for a boss to be romantically involved with someone under them. Jeremiah is gay, but Chase doesn’t know what he is. All he knows is his undeniable attraction to Jeremiah.

I have to say I loved this! It was so good. I love a past a present story. Bi-awakening, secret relationship.
Thank you to Ella for giving me an opportunity to read this!

I was fortunate to receive an advance copy of Rules and Regulations by Ella Kit. This book is about Chase and Jeramiah who went to high school together. Chase caused Jeramiah's bullying when they were in school. 8 years later, Jeramiah becomes Chase’s boss. As they work together on a special project, they find forgiveness, friendship, and love.

I loved this book! I really felt bad for Jeramiah the way they bullied him was horrible. I loved how we were shown what happened 8 years ago and then went back to the future. Chase is my favorite character. He was so funny and charming. All he wanted was to be loved. His banter with Mia was top-notch. Their friendship was so sweet and funny. This book was pretty spicy. Ella has a gift in the way she writes her book. Her characters feel so real, and you get really connected to them. The ending was soooo good, and it left me feeling giddy. I recommend this book to any MM book lover. I also recommend all of Ella’s books!

***ARC REVIEW***

A gorgeous rom-com that left me feeling all the warm and fuzzies!

This had me smiling and kicking my giddy feet like a teenager. It was sweet and cute and I loved every minute of it.

Both Jeremiah and Chase were charming in their own ways and a joy to read about. Chase especially was just pure golden retriever and while i rooted for both of them, I especially rooted for him. He was so desperate to be liked and wanted by Jeremiah that when it finally happened I almost squealed.

I loved that there wasn’t an ounce of shame in Chase for developing feelings for a man or realising he had feelings back as a teenager but wasn’t as self aware at the time. He just full accepted that this was the man that he wanted and that’s that!

Jeremiah was absolutely adorable in how he treated Chase. The date, the flowers, the picnic in the apartment.. oh and turning up to Chase’s in the masquerade mask?! Woo boy!

And I am a sucker for a story ending on a proposal. The public nature of it given their relationship started in secret was perfect. I love Chase and WingBoy and long may their relationship continue!

What would you do if you show up to the first day of your new job and see the person who bullied you in high school? 🤔

What would you do if the boy you were unnecessarily mean to in high school was your new boss? You’re not that kid anymore and everyone loves you. But will he see that? Does he even remember you?

Chase is outgoing and energetic. He loves his friends and goes out of his way to show them. He’s a cat dad and he was just promoted at the job he loves. His life is good. And then his new boss shows up and turns his life update down.

Jeremiah has spent his life trying to make his dad proud. His new job as COO of WingMate, an app for friends and dating, is an opportunity to do just that. But on his first day, he looks right into the eyes of his high school bully. He has to get past that to make this work. He wants to make WingMate a success so the founder, Heather, can step away to start a family. Heather adores Chase, and wants him to work with Jeremiah to secure investors.

Rules & Regulations is a grumpy x sunshine, bi-awakening, forbidden office romance. It’s sweet, funny, and spicy.

AHHHH ELLA DOES IT AGAIN 😍❤️😍

The way Ella puts crack in these books is insane to me. From the moment I started the book to the finish I was so engrossed and so enamored by the story and the characters. She does a phenomenal job of keeping you on the edge of your seat and wanting to read more with the “mini cliff hangers” I like to call them. Both Jeremiah and Chase go through character arcs that are chef’s kiss in my opinion. They both have walls put up in the beginning and slowly as the book goes on the walls come crumbling down. The title is a perfect description of what each character has built up for themselves. I love how they were both so down bad for each other even when they didn’t want to be, I love chase’s possessive side, I love Jeremiah’s dominance 😏 and honestly even the side characters that became a found family were amazing!

I love a story with:
Amazing chemistry between the MC’s
Banter
Character development
Good spice
A moving plot that keeps you wanting to read more

And this book delivers all of the above!

This should definitely be on your TBR!

Thank you Ella for the ARC! ❤️

I was lucky in enough to get an advance copy book from the author!!

This books was so freaking good.

Jeremiah is known as the quiet kid who’s always to himself . Until he’s paired up with Chase in high school for a school project. Jeremiah is reserved a rule follower.chase is loud spontaneous. Everything goes to poop in H.S.
Jeremiah is now grown a successful business man who happens to start at a new company. The last person he expected to see again was Chase.

Chase is a lot lol 😆 in the best way. Once he realizes to the new COO is he’s in denial. Jeremiah has grown up to be a handsome man. Chase is doing everything he can to be friends with Jeremiah. They start out by hanging out by planning an event for work. One things leads to another. But they can’t date each other in public.

Jeremiah and Chase go so many obstacles to keep everything a secret. Chase becomes insecure and Jeremiah is panicking of losing the one rule and person he will break everything for.

Jeremiah and Chase are everything. This book has it all!

Ella Kit knows how to write romance with spice, humor and love.

Best side characters ever as well!!

I am not normally a fan of the slow burn but this book drew me in from the start and the pay off was brilliant.

Jeremiah and Chase were both genuinely endearing characters and I found myself wanting to know more about them especially where things went wrong, was so glad when they finally got to that discussion. Chase, was one of the sweetest characters, always doing things for others and wanting to be liked, I just loved him. Jeremiah again had his sweet moments but it definitely took time to warm up to Chase which considering their background is understandable.

The banter between the pair was good, I loved seeing the back and forth especially as Chase broke down the barriers between them. I also adored the side characters, all of them were developed perfectly and I found myself invested in them as well to the point where I am now looking forward to Ryan's redemption arc.

There is some spicy scenes in this however it takes a while to build to which I did enjoy, it felt the characters worked hard to get to where they were and it was well deserved. This book was sweet, low angst and very engaging.

I really enjoyed this book! This dual-point-of-view story focuses on Chase and Jeremiah, who went to high school together and unexpectedly end up working together a few years later. Chase and Jeremiah are seemingly opposites, with Chase being very friendly and outgoing and Jeremiah being very self-contained and really focused on following the rules.

I absolutely adored Chase! Even though he bullied Jeremiah in high school, he has really changed and now is the person everyone can count on. His bi-awakening was written very well, and it was great to see him learn about himself as the story progressed. The supporting characters are wonderful, especially Mia, who is the perfect best friend to Chase.

The spicy scenes in this book were perfection and really contributed to the story by showing the evolution of Chase and Jeremiah’s relationship. The love story felt authentic and featured realistic problems and insecurities that the MCs had to work through to get their HEA.

Overall, a really lovely book!

Thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC to review.

ARC Review: Rules and Regulations by Ella Kit

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐.5 (3.5/5)

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

• What Works: The chemistry between Chase and Jeremiah is genuinely so good. Their push-pull dynamic makes you want to keep reading, and watching Chase navigate his unexpected feelings adds real emotional depth. The workplace setting feels authentic, and the side characters (especially best friend Mia) are fun to see.

• What Doesn't Work: The book is longer than it needs to be. The middle kinda drags with repetitive arguments and miscommunications that could've been resolved quicker. Some emotional beats feel rushed while others are drawn out too long.

• Final Thoughts: It’s a solid, swoony workplace romance with great chemistry and plenty of heart. The potential is clear, Ella Kit writes such great emotional intimacy, but I think tighter editing would make this book go from good to great.

• This Book Is Perfect For: Fans who love a slow-burn office romance, who love grand gestures and don't mind a lengthy read.

ARC Review

I really enjoyed Rules and Regulations! The slow burn, banter, and natural dialogue between Chase and Jeremiah were so good. Their chemistry felt effortless, and all the awkward moments had me giggling.

I especially enjoyed Mia and how she "subtly" pushed Chase. Jeremiah’s character development and evolution throughout the story were also really well done. The build-up to their relationship and how they figured things out together felt refreshing and genuinely sweet.

Things I loved: the Canadian details (YAY!), the hilarious Ryan moment, the banter, the slow-building tension, Jeremiah’s development, and the playlist.

Overall, this was such a funny, awkward, sweet, and thoughtful romance, and Chase and Jeremiah felt incredibly natural together. I definitely enjoyed the ride!
