This is friends-to-enemies-to-forbidden-workplace-romance? I'm a sucker for a story that starts in the middle of the action with flashbacks to the past to slowly build suspense. I was desperate to figure out what tore Chase and Jeremiah apart. I couldn’t imagine sweet Chase doing anything malicious to anyone, so I had to keep turning pages to find out what happened.
The dynamic between these two was so fun. Jeremiah is definitely a black cat who was trying(and failing) desperately to keep his guard up and cling to professionalism. Chase is the golden retriever who wins everyone over. Watching Jeremiah come to terms with understanding sometimes you have to risk it all for what you truly want was satisfying.
This was another little spicy, fun, low angst read for this series, and I’m hoping there’s more to come.

Nothing like my watch warning me about a high heart rate during the first kiss scene 🥰🥰🥰🥰 And they say reading isn't a sport....
It's been YEARS since a book had me short of breath and my heart pounding just because of a goddamn KISS SCENE. I literally felt like this guy from Ratatouille
...anyway.... THIS BOOK!!!!! THIS GODDAMN BOOK HAD MY EMOTIONS ALL OVER THE PLACE.
It's so so SO well written that I could actually feel all the emotions alongside the characters, as if whatever was happening to them was actually happening to me. I felt anxious, swooned, heartbroken, soft, angry, jealous, happy, scared; YOU NAME IT.
Also can we talk about how fucking funny this book is??? I was cracking the fuck up at Chase's jokes and Jeremiah's first jealousy towards Honey.... since she's a.... "mousy type." If you know, you know.
And the side characters actually felt like side CHARACTERS because they get a lot of page time and are really connected to the MCs, so they're not just "popping in when needed," but actually go through the story alongside the MCs.
But they also don't steal the MCs' showtime at the same time??? What is this wizardry....
This isn't the spiciest literature of them all and honestly, it didn't need to be, but I still caught myself kinda wanting more?? There's only one ACTUAL sex scene and a lot of foreplay before that, plus a few scenes where they sneak around and are dirty together, but I still wanted more???? Idk, maybe it's more of a me problem 🙈

I have not read the first book in this series and I was kind of worried I would be lost but you can totally read this one as a standalone. I’ve only read one book by Ella and she sucked me in this book just like the last book I read.
Chase and Jeremiah were simply perfect from the moment I started this book. I love me a good friends to enemies back to friends to lovers. Also, mix in a whole forbidden romance in the mix and I’m all in one hundred percent.
I laughed so much in this book. This book is full of laughter and so much emotion that you’re only going to want more and more. Also, the found family in this book was absolutely phenomenal and I was intrigued.
Mia was the best friend that I wished I had. I envied the way that Mia and Chase were together. Ryan had me laughing so much because of his shenanigans. And Theo, I eventually grew to love him too.
I loved the push and pull with these two. Jeremiah trying to not want Chase had me giggling and that one kiss.
The yellow crocs scene had to probably have me laughing so hard. But I will say that my favorite moment was Jeremiah had gotten Honey things for his apartment. Like he got her things for when Chase brought her to Jeremiah’s place. So freaking cute! And don’t get me started when Chase paid the barista. Haha.
And the whole Chase explaining to Jeremiah of that one moment in school. Ugh, I just love that whole scene because it was a conversation that needed to happen. Jeremiah listened to Chase’s every word.
And the ending, let’s just say that my mouth dropped open. I freaking devoured this book. I could seriously go on and on about how much I loved this book because it’s just THAT good!
If you’re looking for a book with the right of pining, yearning, one MC getting super jealous, the right amount of spice, all the amazing emotions, amazing side characters, this book is so for you!

The energy of the book starts of with the tension between these two and builds into them working their way back to being friends. Soon, with closed proximity and of course Chase’s personality, they start to feel things and soon have to decide to cross that line risking both their jobs or remain professional and bury how they feel.
This book also has some fun side characters that you will love and some you want to throttle 😂 And a cameo at the end that had me kicking my feet smiling and giggling 🤭🥹

The only negative thing about the story, in my option, is that the whole thing with David and the deal was pretty freaking unnecessary. All the drama with Theo and the secrets between him and Jeremiah? There was no point.
BUT, it was still entertaining.
And I still don't like Theo, sue me. 😅😅😅

This starts out as an ex friends - enemies to lovers, Jeremiah is scorned from what happened during high school and Chase being somewhat the reason for that, now they’re working together and Jer is his boss. They both have to learn how to navigate that after the hurt and resentment. We get flashbacks throughout the book of what happened between them back then and the growth they both had was amazing. Jeremiah learning to let go, be carefree and trust again because sometimes people do change and Chase being able to be himself after suppressing that side of him for so long and also apologize to Jeremiah for what happened so they can close that chapter, move forward and heal, and in the end it all came full circle and that was truly beautiful. MY HEARTTTT. 😭 I would like an invite to the next karaoke night!

This was my first time reading anything from Ella Kit, so i didn't had any context from book one of the series, and I can attest that you're more than ok by doing this route!
I just felt in love with Chase and Jeremiah's story. Soooo cute and light. Such a heartwarming love story. I loved the way Ella treated the more heavy topics (the trigger warning list will be at the end of this review), giving it its appropriated importance (and characters growth!) without getting rid off the good, cozy, fluffy vibes the book has!
And OH. MY. GOD. I was thrown so my times by the humor of this book?! It's insaneeee. So many belly laughs and unexpected twists and I'm HERE. FOR IT.
Mia was my favorite side character by far. Love my girl and her friendship with Chase! Those two cuties pies!
This was a light, cozy, fluffy, adorable read and I just love a book that is there is warm us with a cute romance with no exaggerated drama. I'll be keeping an eye for anything Ella publishes in the future and will definitely look up her past work!

Oh Ella!! She just knows how to write swoon-worthy romances. This was no different. I loved every minute of this slow burn. Even though these two had a rocky past, it was relatively low angst. All the side characters were great. The humor. Oh the humor was soo good 😃 I laughed. I was kicking my feet while swooning. These two men are just precious together.

And the person he definitely has some unresolved feelings about…
With a little bit of hate, a lot of history, and even more tension, these two have to work together. But little by little, they start discovering that people change. As always, my girl Ella does not disappoint with a book release, and this book is no different. Godddd, it was so good it was seriously one of the cutest mm romances I’ve ever read. The domesticity of Chase and Jeremiah was absolutely incredible. They might have had history together since high school, but their chemistry was through the roof from page one to the end. The conversations they had hashing out being dumb high school kids was just amazing seeing how they grew up and came into their own respective adulthoods and career paths 😍
The supporting characters are seriously always so beautiful in an Ella Kit book. Absolutely loved Mia and Rachel. Ryan was comedic relief. Todd being the nervous wreck, ugh, just everyone was amazing except David. Fck you, David. You know what you did. 😒
Seeing my boys Caleb and Nathan, even just the little bit we go to see, was amazing. Love those two butt heads. 😭😭
Ella knows how much I love her books and how much I truly just appreciate her, but I’m going to keep saying it. The tension in this book was THICK and absolutely undeniable. The complex history and backstory between these characters added so much depth and authenticity to their struggles. I loved how their past continued to shape their present, while also showing just how much people can change.
This book really highlights how the person you were in high school isn’t necessarily the person you become in your late twenties. Real-world experiences, growing up, and simply living life can completely change your perspective and give you some muchneeded distance from the fishbowl that is high school.
I loved the tension. The yearning. The history. It was all written so incredibly well. I was kicking my feet, grinning like an idiot, and audibly squealing while reading this book. 😂
There were SO many moments that it’s nearly impossible to pick a favourite. How does one choose a favourite when there are sooo many?!
If you love a book with banter, a bi-awakening riddled with tension and curiosity, an office romance with sneaky hookups, and a history that is M. E. S. S. Y This is 100% your next read.

This was such a cute, funny, romantic love story with a tiny bit of emotional damage (very tiny).
I absolutely adore Jeremiah and Chase, right from the beginning they had me hooked.
When it moved to the boss and employee part you could feel their chemistry already and the growth between them as the pages went on was perfect and ended perfectly. Spice 🌶 🌶
Mia was an excellent side character and I loved her humor and down to earth vibe.
Also I loved getting to see Nathan and Caleb again 🩷

I absolutely adore Jeremiah and Chase, right from the beginning they had me hooked.
When it moved to the boss and employee part you could feel their chemistry already and the growth between them as the pages went on was perfect and ended perfectly. Spice 🌶 🌶
Mia was an excellent side character and I loved her humor and down to earth vibe.
Also I loved getting to see Nathan and Caleb again 🩷

I didn't like Chase and I wanted him far away from Jeremiah. Chase is insecure, prone to pleasing people and hurts Jeremiah at the first chance. Still as an adult he remains with these traits, so no, I would recommend Jeremiah to stay away even after finishing the book.

Ella has done it again, I just absolutely love reading her work. It’s always so full of passion and her plots are always on fire.
Chase and Jeremiah are now some of my new favorites. I loved reading their relationship and watching it grow. The trust building between them was everything for me.
I loved how she showed that you can mess up and still do better. That there’s a chance for forgiveness.
When chase finally got to see his mom again, I literally had tears in my eyes. It was such a bittersweet moment. Jeremiah was right there next to him the whole time supporting him.
Jeremiah had me meltinggggg. That man is the epitome of cool and fine.

So… I read the ARC of Rules & Regulations twice. Twice. Because I desperately wanted to bask in the gentle sweetness that is Jeremiah and Chase’s love story just a little longer. I wanted to spend my lonely little life surrounded by characters who respect and care deeply for each other for just a tiny bit longer. I wasn’t expecting a comfort read, but that’s what I found in this gorgeous second-chance workplace romance.
I cannot help but jump right on the grumpy/sunshine boss/employee trope train whenever it choo choo's through my station, so when I saw Ella Kit's promo for Rules & Regulations I put my name down for it so damn fast I almost sprained a finger. And I am so happy I did because boooooooy oh boy did I fall hard and fast for these two dweebs masquerading as professionals.
First of all, the way this was a romance, but Kit somehow managed to make it a found-family smorgasbord for me was exceptional. I love a full cast of kind, thoughtful, caring characters who have their own little storylines going at the same time as the MC's - really gives the story the extra oomph I'm looking for when I need something comforting.
Second, I was absolutely not expecting to be willing to take a bullet for a man, even a fictional one, let alone two. But Chase and Jeremiah sunk their little claws into me like I imagine Honey is doing to Jeremiah's lovely couch as I speak. They were both just so damn loveable.
Normally, I'm not big on bully romances if the entire book is just one MC bullying the other (not yucking anyone's yum, that's just not my cup of tea), but the way Kit wrote this one (no spoilers) was really lovely - she writes characters who make me feel like they actually deserve a redemption arc. Chase had matured so much and was completely deserving of his redemption, in my opinion. His reasons for acting like a knob in high school weren't justified or written off as okay, he does spend a good portion of the book either regretting his past actions or grovelling for Jeremiah's forgiveness, so that was cathartic to read.
I felt the full scale of both Chase and Jeremiah's feeling for each other - their emotions practically bleed through the page - so nothing about their romance feels forced or too convenient. They both work hard for their happy ending (pun intended) and they put the effort in to show each other how much they care. I adore their soft domestic moments - they’re never as soft as when they’re cooking together or grocery shopping, or just laying together enjoying each others company. What can I say? I just really like characters who simp for each other.
The takeaways from Rules & Regulations? Jeremiah is absolutely getting a pair of crocs to match Chase - gifted by Chase (hashtag justice for crocs), w*nking over a Linked-In profile is both creative and innovative, bully redemption stories are, in fact, for me, and I am pathetic for a golden retriever x orange-cat-masquerading-as-a-black-cat pairings. And also more books should include bubble bath scenes. It’s what we deserve.

✎This was such a beautiful story about healing and forgiveness,the importance of human connection and compassion.It’s a story about love lost and found at just the right time with the same right person.It’s about growth emotionally and internally,it’s about learning to accept yourself and setting yourself free in the process.
✎Chase and Jeremiah had a very unpleasant high school experience,one was trying to fit in while also battling with their repressed feelings, that they ended up hurting the other one very badly.So when they meet again years after,there’s guilt,hatred,anger and shame between them,but as they start working together,they both learn that people change,learn and become better than what they used to be,that realization lead to both of them opening up to each other.Apology was offered and forgiveness was granted,love and acceptance was welcomed and everything else fell into place.
✎The found family in this book was such breath of fresh air,they showed up for each other,encourage themselves,push each other to be better,protects each other,celebrate each other’s success,love and achievements like it’s a win for all of them and they are free of judgement.The found family in this book reminded me of the reason why it’s one of my favorite trope.
✎I love the way the side characters are woven into the story,they are momentous to the story telling and the main characters, but not overwhelming and overpowering to the plot.They compliment the storyline in such a beautiful way.And seriously I don’t mind reading about their own stories.They are truly a well written supporting characters.

Chase is a risk I'm willing to take 😏 and I'm so happy Jeremiah missed the ferry for my boy Chase 🥹
This book was such a fun and emotional read. The history between Chase and Jeremiah had kind of made things complicated at the start.
But what I loved most was seeing how different Chase was as an adult. Omg what what a beautiful man 💞 He was affectionate, persistent, honest about his feelings and genuinely determined to show Jeremiah that he had changed. Jeremiah was more guarded and watching him slowly lower his walls was incredibly satisfying but when he was down for Chase, he was feral and insatiable 🫦😂
Their banter was one of my favourite parts. These two knew exactly how to get under each other's skin and there were plenty of moments that genuinely made me laugh.
I also loved the workplace setting, the healthy work environment, the family dynamics and the supporting characters, especially Mia, Ryan. The story balanced romance, humour, drama, emotional moments and spice really well.
There are misunderstandings, jealousy, workplace complications, secret hookups and plenty of chemistry, but underneath all of that is a story about trust, taking risks and allowing yourself to move beyond the hurt of your past.
Chase was an absolute sweetheart and an eager hot mess, while Jeremiah's character development was one of the highlights for me.
I genuinely couldn't put this book down, and I found myself smiling while reading it. Ella Kit did an amazing job with this one.

I was fortunate to receive an advance copy of Rules and Regulations by Ella Kit. This book is about Chase and Jeramiah who went to high school together. Chase caused Jeramiah's bullying when they were in school. 8 years later, Jeramiah becomes Chase’s boss. As they work together on a special project, they find forgiveness, friendship, and love.
I loved this book! I really felt bad for Jeramiah the way they bullied him was horrible. I loved how we were shown what happened 8 years ago and then went back to the future. Chase is my favorite character. He was so funny and charming. All he wanted was to be loved. His banter with Mia was top-notch. Their friendship was so sweet and funny. This book was pretty spicy. Ella has a gift in the way she writes her book. Her characters feel so real, and you get really connected to them. The ending was soooo good, and it left me feeling giddy. I recommend this book to any MM book lover. I also recommend all of Ella’s books!

Chase is a lot lol 😆 in the best way. Once he realizes to the new COO is he’s in denial. Jeremiah has grown up to be a handsome man. Chase is doing everything he can to be friends with Jeremiah. They start out by hanging out by planning an event for work. One things leads to another. But they can’t date each other in public.
Jeremiah and Chase go so many obstacles to keep everything a secret. Chase becomes insecure and Jeremiah is panicking of losing the one rule and person he will break everything for.

Perfect palate cleanser! I was on the verge of a book slump, and this book couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I laughed, I swooned, and most importantly, I had a great time. I genuinely loved these characters and the development of their relationship. The chemistry flowed easily and naturally, which was exactly what I needed coming off back-to-back high-angst, high-stakes reads. Chase is pure sunshine. Literally. He is the purest soul (and so funny), and the conclusion to his story during the epilogue was so beautiful 🥹. I loved watching Jeremy try his hardest to resist him and fail spectacularly. They are so sweet together. My only complaint with this one would be the lack of spice. There were some steamy moments on page that were FIRE, but overall, there were only about two-ish full spice scenes. And as you all know, I’m tired of books lacking spice these days 😩.

Oh Jeremiah and Chase made me loose sleep! Chase just wants everyone to like/love him and choose him (hello childhood trauma!) and Jeremiah can’t forget the bully he was. But Chase is persistent and keeps pushing, and where’s there’s dislike/hate there’s more and when they have to work together and Chase shows who he really is Jeremiah can’t help but take notice. Their love story is so beautiful, I love Chase so much, he’s so insecure and needs so much but can’t always ask for it. He shows others how much he cares every day, he’s made a family for himself and will protect it. Jeremiah has remade himself and tried to find himself but is almost still looking. Together they find something so pure, and I honestly wish I could wipe my brain to re read it. Also a bonus Chase is a great cat dad!

Jeramiah no longer wants to follow the rules that he has so closely stuck to for so long... Will he be willing to miss that ferry for Chase?
If you love a MM story with low angst yet insane chemistry this is the story for you. It's spicy, addictive and i honestly didnt want to put it down.

The black cat and golden retriever that is Jeremiah and Chase had amazing chemistry and a strong connection. I enjoyed waching them grow together. The communication between them was refreshing and vital to their story. They had me giggling and kicking my feet. Every interaction between them felt natural and inevitable, the domestic moments where my favorite. Their story just made me happy.
The rest of the characters in this book added fun and layes and I adored 99% of them. IYKYK. I have to go back and read book one in this series and im hoping for more characters HEAs. I really enjoy Ella's writing so I cant wait for her next book.
