✨ARC Review✨
I was one of the lucky people who got an advanced copy of Meadowlark, which I’m grateful for!

– I really liked the fast paced storytelling in this book. We didn’t get a lot of background infos on both main characters which was in a way good, because I hate books where I have to go through every little detail on their lives, and in a way bad because while reading I sometimes felt like I hadn’t enough info on why Noah acted the way he did. Same goes for the FMC, especially Meadows relationship with her father, on the one hand he was always away and “not caring” for her, but then he was suddenly there and caring, but we still didn’t get to “see him” so we had no chance of telling what kind of man he was.
I loved that they met in the first chapter of the book and progressed together from there and that I don’t have to drag myself through each individual storyline.
Also I want to give a shoutout to our boy Noah who is a consent King 👑 I think the problem many people have with dark romance or books that have darker topics in them is that they think that the mmc only basically 🍇 the fmc, which is so not the case! I loved dark romance but I also love consent so Noah really hit that sweet spot✨
The cage scenes were not really my thing even though I love f’d up/kinky shit most of the time but that’s just personal preference:)
My constructive criticism would be: dual POV’s instead of one, it’s just much more fun and you get to know both characters on another level. And maybe give the readers a page more to give the readers a little more grasp on them, and if you have a side character e.g. the dad, give him a little line or something because when you use characters for the sake of another character only it makes them seem bland 🫶🏼
Thank you so much M. J. Meinhardt for letting me receive the ARC✨
