WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW!
This author has seriously done so good with this series.
What starts out as a big emotional tug of war, we read as Derek fights to survive after his tererible accident. As his family and friends stand by and watch, pray and support him the emotional angst is high and damn good.
Chloe and the rest of the family knows Jesse is to blame for Derek's accident. Jesse is coming after Chloe and everyone knows it. To protect her, she has somoe one by her side 24 hour a day. Knowing she brought this pain and suffering on to everyone she loves, she must take care of things on her own.
For 2 years she has been training to finally be free of Jesse. Her time has finally come to face to face the monster of her dreams and nightmares.

In this the fifth and penultimate book in this series Derek is in a medically induced coma and Chloe wonders how much more Jesse will try to take from her, she's no longer Kelly the scared young girl he tried to kill she's stronger, wiser and determined that this will all end and end on her terms.
As they wait for news of Derek Chloe spends time with Kevin and Jake, Derek's father and brother and while Jake is understandably a little suspicious of her at first the more time they spend together the more he sees the real Chloe.
Chloe knows Jesse is responsible for all this tragedy and she can feel him watching her and she's sick of running, she's ready.
This was a good exciting read especially after the disappointment of the last book which in my opinion shouldn't have been a separate book it should have been the first half of this one....but enough moaning about that.
While I enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to the sixth and final book I did have some issues with how she went about things especially considering who Jesses father is but I suppose that's what will make the last book interesting.

Writing has improved but am way disappointed about Chloe's "stand off"

I really enjoyed the story line, and honestly think the most of it is good. You're drawn into the characters and the story quite well. The editing is atrocious, and her publisher should do a better job with their edits. Just made it come across as cheap. The typos and grammar you can read over, but were very prevalent throughout the entire series. I think with a better editor and further character development, it would be smashing.

WOW!!! Just WOW!!! Now that I've read this book, and thinking about all that's happened, I'm actually thinking about rereading it just to make sure I didn't miss anything!! I LOVE THE SCARRED SERIES; Yes I'm shouting it from the roof tops!!! This series captivates you and keeps you turning the pages, waiting and wanting to see what happens next! Yes there is a cliff hanger and yes its driving me crazy not to know what happens next, but so worth reading!!
Chloe is at the hospital with Kevin, Derek’s dad and his brother Jake waiting to see how Derek is doing. Jake is looking at her still trying to figure her out. He doesn’t know her whole story and isn’t ready to trust her quite yet. The doctor had just told them that Derek is in a medically induced coma so his body can start to heal. Chloe is staying in Derek’s apartment which is has security and Jake is keeping an eye on her since he doesn’t live from away.
Jake takes Chloe to her recently found parents Trevor and Samantha’s house for the weekend. Chloe decides it’s time to tell them her about her past life and that it’s probably her fault that Trevor and Derek got hurt. They are trying to convince her that it’s not her fault that it’s Jesse’s if he is responsible for the accident. Jake was worried that Dereck was seeing Chloe because she was so much like Sarah but now that he has gotten to know her he can now see how special she is and knows that Dereck loves her as Chloe not because she looks like Sarah.
Chloe has this feeling that Jesse is watching her. She looks around but doesn’t see anyone but knows he is there. Jake and Chloe go the Derek’s boat to make sure everything is okay. She hears foot prints and calls out to Jake, but it’s not Jake. She has a feeling that it was Jesse. The stalking has now become a reality and Chloe knows that learning how to defend herself was the best thing she could have ever done. She knows that Jesse will come after her with the intent to kill her.
This is a must read series and Part 5 is the pivotal book for me. Please read them in order so that you have all the details of her story. This series will have you on the edge of your seat, cheering and teary eyed. I can’t wait for Part 6!!!!

At the start of this part of the story, Derek is making improvements, he is still in an induced coma though. Kevin, Jake and Chloe make plans to stay near. Kevin, Derek's father, asks Derek's brother, Jake, to stay near Chloe and keep her safe from Jesse. Jake isn't real keen on the idea, but he does it for his brother.
Jake doesn't trust Chloe's motives, but he decides to get to know her better.
Meanwhile, Jesse is still stalking and taunting Chloe. Jake is witness to this. He has already started to change his mind about Chloe and this just helps push it along.
By the end of this story Derek is released into the care of Chloe's parents, where he will continue his rehab. And Chloe decides that it is time to end Jesse's reign of terror. So, she makes a plan, knowing that Jesse won't be able to resist attacking her when she is alone.

I just figured out why I like this series so much. It is like the movie Enough (without having a child to protect.) If you liked that movie then this series will be a good read. Each book gets us closer to the finale which will come with book 6 (due out in June) but with each book we learn a bit more about the strength that comes with not being a victim anymore. Can't wait to see what is next and exactly how the cliffhanger from this one gives us the finale in the next. Will the love Chloe and Derek survive all the drama? Will the Stark family be able to withstand all the stress of protecting Chloe for Derek? This is the last cliffhanger to withstand before all the answers come to light.
Note: Please please please read this series in order. It will not make sense in any way shape or form if you don't. Also this series includes domestic violence so it is a trigger that some readers may not be able to handle.

The author continues to do a great storyline with this series and I have enjoyed reading all her books. They keep getting better each time and her characters are so incredibly inspiring. This is a book worth reading and once you start you won't want to stop until you finish reading the book. Chloe and Derek's family continue to take of Derek in the hospital as he continues to get better each time with his therapy. Jesse still lurking around watching every step Chloe makes. Chloe's family decided to take Derek to their house to take care of him once he's out of the hospital. Chloe decides that it's time to confront Jesse once and for all for she is tired of living her life like in fear of him. They end up fighting and one ends up dead while the other is seriously injured by the time the cops get to the condo. Just have to get the book to find out

These series has such a build-up. If you want an intense read, start this series. As much as Chloe is healing with developing a relationship with Derek and her parents, she can't truly put the past behind her because she has Jesse out there just waiting to hurt her. She hates to put those she loves in danger and they in return refuse to let her push them away. In this part, we get to really meet Derek's older brother, Jake. He really adds an another important piece to the story. You are not sure if you want Chloe to risk herself to end this or not and the ending is very hard. I highly recommend the series and am eager for the last part in June. I received an ARC from the author in return for a honest review.

This book captivated me and had me on the edge of my seat through the whole book. As usual, I couldn't put it down and I can't wait to read the finalinstallment. I hope it has a HEA, but I don't want it to end. Maybe Ms. Walker will write about some of the other characters. I loved all of them. Chloe is a strong and determined woman who knows she has to kill Jesse before he kills her or hurts someone else she loves or cares about. He's becoming more and more brazen, and she would prefer whatever happens to be on her terms. She will not be his victim!!! This book is so suspenseful that it brings out all of your emotions. WOW! It was like a movie playing in my head the entire time. Fantastic! I enjoyed each and every moment of this book/series. Kelly/Chloe is an amazing woman. The way she met Derek was odd. Each character in this book plays an important good or bad role in Chloe's life. All of them were well thought out.
This is a perfectly put together story and I was sorry for it to end. I look forward to reading more from this fabulous author.

Wow this series is really getting good. Chloe has grown so much since book one.
She is no longer this timid shy scared of her own shadow woman she is now a hardened kick a** woman who wont allow Jesse to bring her down anymore.
The story is still well developed and flows very well. Couldnt put this story down and just like with the first four books I was hooked from page one. Really cant wait for part 6 to see what is going to happen after being left with a cliffhanger.

Chloe is my hero, I love this girl.
I was anticipating book 5 because I was freaking out about Derek. I love this guy and was so worried of what his outcome was going to be, I was even dreaming about him waiting on this book. I was crying my eyes out at the end of book 4.
Derek is awesome and I even love his brother and father in this book.
I am truly going to be sad when this series ends. I read this book in about an hour or so. I could not put it down.

I really thought this was the end of t :) e series but I was wrong, book 6 is coming soon.
I am really excited to see how this series ends. Chloe/Kelly is so strong and finally gets her justice, I hope.
Jake was a big part of this book and you get attached, I really hope he gets a HEA along with everyone else.

A thrilling continuation of Chloe and Derek's story. Derek is in the hospital after a car crash that is caused by the sadistic Jesse. Chloe has finally had enough and will do whatever it takes to protect her loved ones. Will Derek wake up and be ok, and will Chloe survive Jesse and come out the victor? Read to find out! I read this installment in about 2 hours. I couldn't wait to see how Derek was faring, and if Jesse had made his move. I wasn't disappointed in either aspect. Derek is on the mend and Jesse gets his just desserts. Once again, Chloe shows her strength and courage. I'll be genuinely upset when this series ends, because I won't get to read Chloe's story any further.

Not bad, Kylie. I only rolled my eyes twice but I do that in almost every book. This one was so much better and not just because we finally saw the culmination of Kelly/Chloe & Jesse's warped history. The writing flowed so much better and felt so much more mature. That being said....ugh, a sixth part. Really?!?! It better be good. You know how honest I can be.

OMG soo at sometimes I felt like things were repeated. Or somethings were just plain silly but I felt like the movie "Enough" was definately channeled for this storyline. I need to see what happens in the final installment to give a complete review

I can't believe book 5 got even better. I was turning pages as fast as my finger could slide and my eyes could read the words. I could barely take the time to write this review because I have to go read book 6 right now.
