The Promise

Rate this book
For eight years, Eden Reyes thought she was moving on.

She built a career she loves. She fell in love with a genuinely good man. She said yes to forever.
She never realized she was still looking for Logan Montgomery.

Not intentionally. Never consciously. But every crowded street, every waiting room, every passing stranger carried the same impossible question: What if?
Because first loves don't always end when people leave. Sometimes they wait.

When Logan disappeared at seventeen, he promised he'd come back for her. Then he vanished without another word.
Now, eight years later, he's standing in front of her. And suddenly the life she fought so hard to build no longer feels as certain as it did yesterday.

The Promise is an emotional second-chance romance about first love, impossible choices, and the promises that refuse to stay in the past.

Because sometimes the greatest love of your life doesn't become your past. It becomes the choice that changes your future.

The Promise completely pulled me in from the very first pages. Watching Eden’s journey unfold—from the innocence of young friendships to the complicated realities of adulthood—was emotional, heartfelt, and impossible to put down.

The characters felt incredibly authentic, with flaws, growth, and relationships that made every emotion hit even harder. The story beautifully explores first love, heartbreak, healing, and the difficult choices we make when our past and present collide. I found myself smiling one moment, holding my breath the next, and thinking about these characters long after I finished.

One of my favorite things was how emotionally real everything felt. Nothing was rushed, and every moment had a purpose. The ending left me with so many feelings and completely reminded me why I love emotional romance.

And can we talk about that cover? It’s absolutely beautiful and perfectly captures the heart of the story.

If you love emotional friends-to-lovers romances with unforgettable characters, heartfelt moments, and a story that stays with you, this one deserves a spot on your TBR.

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. ❤️

For me, a story doesn't have to be perfectly written to earn a 5-star rating, it just needs to make me FEEL. I don't just love the story...I live it, and I LIVED this one right along with Eden, Parker and Logan.

I know that this book will not be for everyone as it is a love triangle, and for some readers, that's a hard no. Personally, I love a good triangle and I love a second chance even more. This is both, but here's the thing: When it comes to love triangles, I almost always choose which guy I want her to be with within the first few chapters. I could not do that here.

I loved Logan, Eden's first love who left her at age 17 with a promise to come back (which he fulfills 8 years later!)

I loved Parker, the patient and loving man who Eden finally moved on with and promised to marry.

And my heart broke for both of these men along with Eden for having to choose between them. Like, seriously, I was hoping that this love triangle was going to become a "why choose" romance at one point!

I felt EVERY SINGLE EMOTION while reading this book. I was happy, sad, frustrated, angry, heartbroken and devastated. And honestly, I'm still not 100% sure that I'm happy with the ending. I think I am, but I need more. I need another book. I need to know that all three of these characters get their HEA.

I get so excited when I give a debut author a chance and discover a story that absolutely consumes me, and that's exactly what I found here.

First of all, I would like to give a huge thank you to the author for letting me be an ARC member for this book!

Honestly, the beginning of this book was SO WELL WRITTEN. It absolutely had me feeling all of the emotions as we learned the history between these two characters. The characters were well developed, and you could see how they had grown in the time skip between seeing each other.

The side characters were fun, they were perfect friends to the main characters (for the most part) and so supportive. Even more minor characters fit into the story perfectly.

As I said, all of the emotions were felt when I was watching Eden and Logan fall in love, get ripped apart and then not see each other for 8 years. However, Eden had built a new life during that time.

That is where my review lost two stars. Without spoiling anything, I think the ending was rushed. It felt like the whole book was leading up to a decision that she didn’t really make at the end of the day and we didn’t see enough of what she was thinking at the moment she made the decision. (Also I was rooting for the other guy 😝)

But very well written, it just felt a bit frustrating at the end with how everything landed so quickly.

Thank you to the author for the advance readers copy

So many emotions wrapped up in “The Promise.”
The author did a great job with character development and telling a story of two young kids, Eden and Logan, who built a friendship and then more. This was well paced and written. With her writing style I was able to feel the heartbreak and devastation when Logan left. The yearning was palpable through the 8 years of her waiting for him to return. When Eden eventually moves on, that’s when Logan returns and everything becomes complicated. You have 2 men, 1 that seems perfect on paper, and 1 that was her best friend and knew everything about her from when she was 10 until 19. How does she choose? I understand being confused and not knowing which of the 2 to choose, but after 8 years people change and that’s not reflected in the book. Love that Eden is portrayed as someone strong and independent and has 2 best friends that support her.

I was lucky to receive an ARC of The Promise by Bianca L.T.

The yearning! A beautiful story of first love between Eden and Logan.

Heartbreak when Logan had to leave💔 He promised to come back and find her.

⏳When he returns Eden is engaged.
I wanted to hate Parker because I was rooting for Logan but I couldn't. Two amazing guys.

I especially enjoyed the supporting friends characters. They were true friends. Giving support, real talk but never telling them what to do.

There's not a right or wrong. Eden has to decide which path she wants to take...

I couldn't put this book down.

The Promise is Bianca's debut novel! I can't wait to read what she writes next.

The emotions of this story quickly pulled me in. After 8 years I loved that Eden had moved on and built a life for herself, including finding love again rather than just waiting on Logan. At the same time I loved his you could tell in spite of what caused their breakup. When he came back into her life he really fought hard for her. Overall I enjoyed this one and give it a solid 4 stars.

The story follows Eden and Logan, whose childhood friendship slowly grows into something more. But when Logan suddenly has to leave, he makes one promise: he’ll come back, no matter what.

What do you do when the love of your life disappears in the middle of the night but promises to return? How long do you wait?

This story kept me on my toes the entire time. Bianca writes a love triangle to perfection, keeping me guessing who I was rooting for until the very end.

The supporting characters were some of my favorite parts of the book. Everyone deserves friends like them.

If you enjoy emotional romance with friendship, longing, and plenty of tension, this one is worth checking out.

This is an impressive debut, and I’ll definitely be watching for Bianca’s next release.

I received an advanced copy of The Promise, it was raw, emotional, and such a beautiful story to read! Eden and Logan’s relationship is real, from them meeting when they were kids to when they were adults! The writing was so detailed, my only issue is I wish it had more dialogue between the characters. It was such a good story and everyone should give it a read!

First and foremost I want to thank the author for the opportunity for an ARC and that this story was everything I thought it would be. I knew it would give me Grey’s Anatomy vibes and I was here for it. For being a debut novel this is so well written and I know the more this author writes the better and better she will get! This for me was a love triangle done right. The angst was there and the yearning was done so well. This book is definitely relatable on all fronts. I recommend!

Thank you to Bianca L.T. for this ARC!!

Once I read the dedication, I knew this book would absolutely break me: “For the ones who chose the life that made sense. For the ones who never stopped wondering about the life that didn't. For the ones who understand that love leaves fingerprints on your heart long after it's gone. And for the ones who discovered that some promises are impossible to forget.”

I think Bianca captured young love perfectly. Carefree and all consuming. I think she also perfectly captured adult relationships. Complicated and nuanced but still beautiful.

The story felt like it was a real life story…like I was listening to someone tell me about their life. It wasn’t one of those books that you read that’s so ridiculous that you roll your eyes. No eye rolling over here! The story flowed well for the most part and I truly fell in love with the characters.

I loved how Bianca gave us the whole backstory. We didn’t just get snippets here and there. You get the childhood Eden where she’s introduces us to childhood Logan and then you get adult Eden and where she’s at with Parker. Then we get childhood Logan from his POV and we get the entire story of how he ended up where he is present day.

My only complaint was how detailed the backstory was but then the last third of the book went very quick. I wish there weren’t as many jumps in time toward the end.

The side characters were great! I wish we got more time with Eden’s parents. Either way, Eden’s friends were so supportive and truly loved her.

If you are a love triangle lover like me that enjoys books with genuine characters, give this a read!

The Promise is a love story that follows Eden and Logan, who met at the age of 10 and fell in love as they grew up. Due to circumstances out of his control, Logan has to abruptly leave and makes “The Promise” to one day come back and find her, but tells her to go and live her life in the meantime. Eden is left to figure out how to live without the love of her life and move on despite trying to find Logan everywhere she goes. After Eden eventually moves on and finds someone else to love and love her, Logan comes back months before she is to be married. Eden has to figure out who she wants to spend the rest of her life with; the first man she ever loved or the man who she learned to love after falling apart.
This book is filled with so much emotion and heartache. I found my heart breaking for the main characters as the story progressed, which is a testament to how well written it is.
The story had me crying multiple times throughout the book. The writing was very well done and the pace of the story was great. I honestly could not put it down and the author did a fantastic job of taking me into the hearts and minds of the characters.
The supporting characters were all very likable and fit into the story very well. There were no unnecessary characters or storylines that didn’t make sense and the detail provided was appropriate for describing what was going on without being too much. I recommend reading this book, especially if you are a hopeless romantic. I hope that this author writes more books in the future, I would definitely read them!

I enjoyed THE PROMISE and was glued to the pages all the way through to the last page! I had no clue or guess on how it was going to end, such a heartfelt love story.

The Promise is about Eden and the steady normal life she has created, following what's right and safe. She manages to pick up the pieces and move forward after a heartbreaking 💔 event in her life.

Just when she believes her life is going down a safe and steady path with her fiancé, Parker, her past (by the name of LOGAN) reappears after 8 years and not a single word from him. He shows up and creates a MAJOR detour in her path. 😳 Now being faced with the question, has she truly let go of her past and moved on or was she simply choosing the safe choice to avoid being hurt again.

I adored these characters and the fact that both Parker and Logan are amazing choices for Eden, but at the end of the day, the heart wants what it wants.

Thank you so much @love_letter_library_ for the opportunity to ARC read for you. I loved your writing and this amazing story you created 😘 Pls write more books in this world 🙏 ❤️

✨ ARC REVIEW ✨

The Promise by Bianca L.T.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5⭐️)
🌶️ 1/5

Tropes: Love Triangle • Second Chance Romance • Childhood Friends to Lovers • Childhood Romance

I absolutely loved this one! It was the perfect amount of heartbreaking. You could truly feel everything Eden and Logan went through, and I found myself emotionally invested from beginning to end.

Logan’s patience was incredible, although there were definitely moments where I wanted him to fight just a little harder. But Parker made this story so much more complicated. From the very beginning, he was endlessly patient, kind, and unwavering in the way he showed up for Eden when she needed him most. He loved her so well that it made the entire situation feel impossible and completely unfair for all three of them.

I also have to mention the friendships in this book because they were so well done. Olivia and Chelsea were the kind of best friends everyone deserves, and Santos was just as loyal and supportive to Logan. They added so much warmth to an already emotional story.

The writing was beautiful, the emotions felt so real, and this is definitely going on my list of favorites.

My only very small complaint was that the ending felt a little rushed. After such a huge emotional build-up, I would have loved just a little more time before it wrapped up.

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read and review this ARC! 🤍

“ he was 10 years old with someone else’s shoes, a flat backpack and eyes that look like they were still waiting to learn what everything cost. I sat down across from him. I never really got back up.”

🖤

.. let me tell you how this book has absolutely wrecked me in the best way possible! The plot, the angst, the love, the trauma, the friendships, the family, all of it! There’s no trigger warnings no darkness just one of the best love stories I have ever read. This one was VERY close to home for me and ending I certainly wish I had.
I devoured this book in the matter of days.. I spent the first time I picked it up reading for 7 hours straight, and this is her DEBUT? My goodness she has a reader in me for life. This was so beautifully written, I’m already sad it’s over and wish I could read it again for the first time.

🖤

“ his house taught him what cruelty looked like. He chose kindness anyway”

🖤

First loves, first heart break, soul mates, lost.. but given a second chance. A promise he had to make eight years ago to no fault of his own.. he was going to keep it.. no matter what.

🖤

“.. home was never a place. It was always him”

.. thank you Bianca for allowing me to read one of the most beautiful stories I have ever read. And thank you for reminding me of a better time .. 🖤

This is exactly the kind of writing that tugs at my heartstrings!

Love triangles can be so hard to pull off because most of the time it's pretty obvious who the endgame is. This one had me constantly changing my mind. Every time I thought I had it figured out, something would happen that made me question everything. I genuinely rooted for both guys, and I honestly wasn't sure how it was going to end.

I also really appreciated the lack of over-the-top angst. I usually love an angsty romance, but this was such a refreshing change. Instead of relying on constant drama, the story leaned into the emotions, and somehow that made every moment hit even harder.

I'm so grateful Bianca shared this story with me. The second I heard what it was about, I knew I had to get my hands on it, and it absolutely lived up to everything I was hoping for.

Maybe we'll get to eventually read about another couples story from this book?? 👀

I just finished this book, and I have to admit… I was pleasantly surprised!

It was well written, and I absolutely loved the dual points of view. Getting inside each character’s head made the story even more engaging.

And can we talk about the characters? I genuinely loved all of them, which is rare for me. Logan, Parker, and Eden completely stole my heart.

I’m a total sucker for a friends-to-lovers story, so this one was right up my alley.

Now, about that ending… 😳 I had convinced myself there was no way it was going to end the way it did. I was completely wrong! I won’t spoil anything, but let’s just say I was satisfied… while also wishing things had gone a little differently. 😉

If you love emotional romance, lovable characters, and a friends-to-lovers story that keeps you guessing, this one is definitely worth checking out.

Thank you to the author for this amazing ARC copy to read and review.

What would you do if your first love came back into your life after 8 years of silence? For Eden, it’s a question that catches her off guard one wintry evening, months before she is to get married, when Logan (her childhood love) appears out of thin air. Stuck between two amazing men, she has an impossible choice to make. This one gave me all the feels, and what made it interesting was I loved all the characters, including both male love interests, which made it incredibly difficult to root for one guy over the other. Eden’s internal struggle over doing the “right thing” while following her heart was tender yet heartbreaking. I didn’t know which way she was going to go until the very end. Perfect for romance lovers, with all the sweet & swoony tropes- friends to lovers, second chance romance, and a love triangle!

“When the dust settles, however long that takes, I’ll find you. I don’t care where you end up. I don’t care how far away you are.”

This was such a good emotional romance. It was so moving watching the FMC Eden move through her past and her present to find herself along the way.

This was a slow paced, quiet, emotional wrecking ball that dug it's way into my heart fully and completely. I wanted to shake her, shake my kindle, shake everything I could get my hands on to see who she chose. You need to get your hands on this one, it will be available on August 1st!!

Let me just say im so grateful to have been chosen as a ARC reader for Bianca L.T.'s newest book The Promise. This book will take you through the emotions.

This book is a romance book, with friends to lovers because the story has to do with Eden & Logan and them finding there way back to each other. The author did an awesome job with explaining everything that is happening on both Eden & Logan side. So we ain't missing any behind the scenes because we get both there point of view and I love that. Also the friends that Eden & Logan have are amazing, they are there though everything and try to help when they can, I need more if this in books LOL 😆

This book did have me in my feelings though because how do you choose between two good guys?? Lol 😆

I also gave this book a 4 star rating because what happens with Parker??? I need to know more about him.

The Promise introduces us to Eden and Logan, friends since the age of 10. The book takes us through their awkward elementary school years, their formative high school years and beyond. Their relationship is fresh, young, and unpredictable. It’s an intense, emotional, and heartfelt book that will make you smile, stress, and sigh. It’s about our choices in life and how they affect us and everyone around us.
Add in Parker, another character who has a very special bond with Eden, and you have the makings of the consummate angsty romance. I loved all of it! The ups and downs, the character flaws and strengths, and everything in between. Highly recommend to anyone that enjoys a passionate and powerful love story!

I received this as an ARC in exchange for my honest review of this debut novel

I ate this up in 2 days. Logan and Eden are childhood sweethearts that lost and then found each other again later in life after active duty army, and nursing school.

She's engaged to someone else... enter love triangle. I love the way Bianca wrote the hard decisions, instead of just letting conflicts sort of magically resolve themselves like some books do. It felt authentic and more real life this way.

I don't want to give too much information, but I enjoyed Eden's journey to follow her heart and find herself again along the way.

3.75 ⭐️ because some of the formatting was weird and confused me at times, especially with some of the dialogue.

"The Promise" is the story of a girl who experiences her first love (and heartbreak) at a tender, young age and learns how to rebuild her life. Right when she thinks she has it all figured out, the past joins the present--and the future has never been more unclear.

Honestly, this is how all contemporary romance novels should be written. The narrative is heartfelt, compelling, and sooo relatable! I love how the story explores grief, love (young and mature), and highlights how messy emotions and serendipity truly are. I loved how the novel concluded, and the truths in this book helped heal my own young love experiences.

ARC review

Logan and Eden’s story starts when they’re kids, and watching everything unfold from first love to heartbreak to finding each other again years later made it easy to keep turning the pages. I was constantly rooting for them, even when I wanted to yell at them to just be honest with each other.

The emotional moments were the strongest part of this book. It doesn’t rush the relationships, and you can really feel the history between the characters. I also liked that the choices they had to make actually felt difficult instead of being wrapped up too easily.

I’d definitely recommend giving this one a chance.

Special thanks to the author Bianca L.T. for giving me an opportunity to read this amazing book

Honestly if you love second chance books, this one is for you. I appreciate how Bianca stuck to the plot and how steady the story was. It definitely wasn't rush. I definitely did have my moments of throat tightening on how passion the characters were. I was unfortunately hurting with them and for them cause God knows I hate being emotional. There were a few misspelled words and I believe Chapter 37 was supposed to be listed as"Logan" pov and not “Eden” Also a little predictable but other than that I really loved this story.

I absolutely loved the storyline & characters! The author does an excellent job at grabbing your attention & hooking you in from start to finish.

FMC - Eden a girl with a huge heart who ends up getting her heart crushed but keeps her Promise to make a good life for herself and follow her dreams of becoming a Nurse.

MMC - Logan struggles as a kid but becomes a military mechanic who never forgets his Promise to his childhood love.

Olivia, Chelsea, Parker & Santos are all perfect friends who would give the world to the main characters.

Book shows that even in the toughest times some Promises are worth keeping and fighting for!

I absolutely LOVED this book! I was completely invested in Eden's story from the beginning. I genuinely had no idea who she was going to choose until the very end, and I kept changing my mind throughout the book. Both love interests were amazing in their own ways, and I honestly would have had a hard time making the same choice.

The emotions were so well written. I could understand every decision Eden made, even when it broke my heart. And that ending... wow. It was so emotional and definitely had me tearing up.

If you love emotional second-chance romances with lovable characters and a story that keeps you guessing until the very end, I highly recommend this one!
