Mark is, first and foremost, a loving husband and devoted father. He has two daughters and no intention to try for a boy. (With my luck, I'd have another girl...)

After joining the Coast Guard in 2010, Mark was transfered to the Coast Guard Cutter Mellon in Seattle, WA. In 2013, he was transferred again to Mobile, AL. This made him happy because he can visit his family in Brandon, MS much more frequently now that he isn't two-thousand miles away.

Very much enjoyed this read! I was engrossed pretty much the whole book. The characters were well fleshed out and I grew to care for quite a few of them. I also enjoyed the "looks" into their pasts. If I were asked who was my favorite, not sure I can pick one, although Brahm did make me giggle a time or two! There were a couple of times when I had to re-read a sentence because there was an extra word added or a small typo but nothing that isn't an easy fix and, for me, the story was so good that it didn't bother me in the least (hence why I didn't detract a star. I only mention it for those who are sticklers about that sort of thing but I would still encourage you to give this book a shot, regardless). It's also clean romantically (always a plus for me), only alluding. Have already bought the second and am starting it now. Thanks for the escape Mr. Cole and am looking forward to continuing my adventure in the next book!

Pretty good overall, it made some leaps in story and character development that seemed made out of convenience to keep the story moving, or to get out of a corner that the author wrote himself into, rather than coming from character or story driven concepts, (I'm not a huge fan of discovering new powers RIGHT when you need them to survive or kill a stronger enemy) but I'm still happy that I read it. I will probably read the other two in the trilogy.

Good book

Thought provoking. Lots of good action. Interesting thought on the realms. I really enjoyed this book. I definitely recommend if you like fantasy type books.
