Jetsetter Elizabeth Embry is the toast of the town. A rising star in the fashion industry, she has traveled the world and lived a life of glamour and fortune. But beneath her care-free facade, Elizabeth is running from a past that won't let her rest. When a former colleague reaches out with a job offer in the sleepy town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Elizabeth feels a spark of hope--perhaps this drastic change of scene will finally allow her to slow down. Envisioning an idyllic getaway at the mountainous bed and breakfast that has been arranged for her, Elizabeth is caught off guard by her immediate attraction to the aloof innkeeper. Ryan Brennan is certainly handsome, but what secrets hide behind that withdrawn exterior? Surrounded by people bent on playing matchmaker, the stage is set for a picture-perfect romance. But as past heartache threatens to overwhelm them both, can Elizabeth and Ryan let go of their pain and grab hold of a promising future together?

When I was growing up, my family would go on a big vacation every summer and it was almost always camping just outside of Jackson Hole, WY. We would go into town and shop and we'd always do a few hikes. I loved the setting in this book because it brought back a lot of memories and I could visualize it all so well.
Elizabeth is a successful career woman who has been all over the world. A good friend persuades her to come to Jackson Hole to try out her boutique in hopes of her becoming a partner. Ryan is a widowed man with three children who helps his parents run a Bed and Breakfast. Neither one of them is looking for love...but sometimes, that's when it happens.
I got married young, so I couldn't relate to Elizabeth's way of thinking, yet she was a very likable character. She's seen it all and seems ready for a change. She has so many walls put up around herself, but when push comes to shove, she knows deep down what she wants out of life.
Ryan was great--patiently impatient and always seemed to bring a little unintended twist to a situation. I loved the relationship he had with his family, especially his kids.
I LOVED the part about Nora trying to set Elizabeth up. :)
Content: no language or violence; a scary situation; this is LDS fiction and it talks quite a bit about religion, especially towards the end; kissing. Clean!
**I won a copy in a giveaway and this in no way influenced my opinion**
I liked this one better than the first one. I never really like when the characters fall in love at the first meeting. I did enjoy getting to know Elizabeth, her past and how she is trying to change.
I actually liked the characters and development of romance better than I did in The Orchard, but the religious aspect of it was a little too heavy for me.
Following in the footsteps of The Orchard~ Krista Lynne Jensen breathes life into Elizabeth's story.
Elizabeth used to be called "the wild one."
But things are changing and Elizabeth has been offered a partnership at a quaint boutique in quiet Jackson, Wyoming.
Elizabeth's friend, Nancy, has reserved a room at a beautiful bed and breakfast for her and pushes Elizabeth towards the handsome man at the front desk.
Elizabeth is wary as her past still haunts her.
The handsome man, Ryan Brennan, has a past too and is raising three children on his own. The last thing he wants is to fall in love with someone other than his late wife.
But when Ryan keeps running into Elizabeth ~ literally ~ (fun scene)
And Elizabeth keeps falling into his arms ~ literally ~ (more fun scenes)
Their friendship grows...
But along with it also grows Elizabeth's doubts and fears.
Can she ever believe that "she is more than she thinks she is?"
A FANTASTIC BOOK! SO RECOMMEND IT! LOVED IT! Will DEFINITELY read more from this author!
Review: Right off I loved getting to know Elizabeth. In The Orchard she's snooty and icy, so seeing what's beneath all of that, and especially how her sister's new faith has changed Elizabeth is really great. Krista has a thing about writing masterful characters. They are always deep and involved. I wanted to hug Ryan, and I loved the way Krista just nailed his kids too. The setting was so pretty too. The whole thing draws you in and yanks at your heartstrings. It's just lovely. So lovely.
Content: Sex: 1/5 (Things in Elizabeth's past are discussed, and a friend tries to take advantage of her.) Violence: 1/5 (Elizabeth pushes a man away and he is injured; there is an incident with a bear) Language: 0/5 Overall Rating: PG
I've been looking forward to reading this one for a while. I read The Orchard and became familiar with Alisen's family, and I was curious about Elizabeth, and how she could become the heroine.
Elizabeth is a character dragged down by her past, and so is Ryan. Despite the reasons not to, they feel pulled toward each other. Elizabeth's growth as a character is marked, and there are things she needs to overcome before she gives herself permission to move on. Ryan needs to learn to be patient with himself and with Elizabeth.
It's a very sweet (and clean) love story, and their faith is touching and natural.
Highly recommend, and totally looking forward to the last one in the trilogy.
Loved the description of all the scenery around Jackson Hole, Wyoming and it made me wish I could live there. So picturesque. Elizabeth and Ryan's story was a sweet romance. Everything is going great until Elizabeth realizes Ryan is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Then she gets the terrifying phone call that her father is ill and may not live so she dashes home to be without him - without saying good-bye to Ryan. She leaves a note that basically says I have some things to figure out so don't contact me. Elizabeth is then surrounded by two sisters and their husbands who are members of the church who begin to tell Elizabeth all about Christ and answer all her questions. Elizabeth finds her message of gift of repentance and always God's love for her. She dashes off to go to Ryan while he is on a plane to go get Elizabeth. Elizabeth's family gladly receive Ryan at the airport and put him on a plane back to Jackson Hole and Elizabeth patiently awaits his arrival. They proclaim their love for each other. Ryan's three kids could not be happier when Elizabeth returns. Such a sweet romance that puts a smile on your face and warms your heart.
I loved how sweet this book was (although I didn’t know it was a sequel, so I haven’t actually read the first book). I give it 4 1/2 stars. I would have given it 5, but there was one thing towards the end that kinda bothered me (you love each other and haven’t seen each other in awhile and when you finally find each other again, you just stand there and talk?) Anyways... Good story about healing and dealing with the hard things in life. I loved the characters, Ryan was definitely perfect, just like Elizabeth kept saying. Overall, super cute, romantic, fun book.
I loved this book! I was super busy, and wasn't sure if I should read this or just return it to the library. However, I'm so glad that I took the time to read it! I loved this book! Thank you Krista Lynne Jensen for another amazing read! Please keep writing!
Parts of this were sweet, but I couldn’t get past the way they were mentally declaring their love for each other before they had even been on a date or spoken to each other much. I also felt that her conversion process was glossed over too quickly.
Hard to get into this one. Some of it seemed too fake and unrealistic. But, it grew on me, and I really liked Ryan and Elizabeth's relationship. Sweet, maybe a little too much, but still fun to read
Fun reading about a widowed man and his 3 children. He helped his parents run a B&B. Sparks flew when Elizabeth, a jetsetter came to town. Both have pasts they are running from.
Genre:LDS Fiction/Romance) 3.5 stars. This is a follow up novel to Jensen's earlier book "The Orchard". In the first book, the heroine's older sister, Elizabeth is introduced and in this book she get's her own story. Elizabeth is a world-wise career woman. A very successful fashion purchaser for Saks Fifth Avenue, Elizabeth has traveled the world. She has met all kinds of people, experienced all kinds of things, and been a really party girl, but she is getting tired of her life's frantic pace. When her friend and mentor (Nancy) offers her a partnership in a fashion boutique in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Elizabeth is very interested. She would really like to find her place in the world. Watching her 2 younger sisters get married and begin families has definitely brought home to her all that she is lacking in life. She travels to Wyoming to give the shop a try and see how the town and business suits her. Nancy books Liz a room in a family owned bed and breakfast outside of town run by Ryan--a widower of 5 years with 3 children. Ryan isn't interested in a relationship with anyone, especially not Liz. He thinks she is incredibly beautiful but cold and distant. Liz isn't interested in a real relationship because of the baggage she is carrying from her past and besides, she isn't even sure that she will be staying in town. When I realized that this book was about Elizabeth (the mostly unlikable sister from the earlier book), I was a little concerned. It's hard to really enjoy a book if you hate the character. But Elizabeth was very likable in this story. She was much more vulnerable and less sarcastic and hard than in the earlier book. As her past is opened more fully, we understand her better and can really cheer for her to find peace and happiness. I am not sure how consistent her character is over the 2 books-I would have to re-read the first-but if you take it as a stand alone novel (which it can be) then it isn't a problem. There is a very religiously toned section of the story that I can't get into without spoilers, so I will just say that it does fit with both the plot and character development. There were a few storyline flaws(in my opinion), but overall, I really enjoyed this one--it was just what I was looking for. A fun escape for a few hours with likeable characters and a clean romance.
Well I read these out of order… Maybe I should check that out before I just take off and read a book… But it’s fine. It didn’t spoil anything from the first one. But now I have to go get that. I really picked this book up because the cover is perfect! I freaking love it.
I may have only picked this book up because of the cover, but I freaking loved it. I’ve never read an LDS book where the main character isn’t LDS. It was cool to read the conversion story instead of the “mission” story. Though you got a bit of both since Ryan also had chapters too. I also love it when they have kids. I know that sounds weird, but I always love reading about how they not only fell in love with the man, but they also fell in love with his kids. Or something similar. It just makes me all happy inside.
This story was sweet and cute and charming and delightful and darling and I don’t think I can come up with any more synonyms off the top of my head. But I really mean it. This book had all the cute factor and all the “OH MY GOSH!” factor and all the “Can this be any more adorable?” factor. It honestly was just all the romance.
My favorite scene was when he took her to that waterfall, the bear scene… I thought the whole experience was just so romantic! That whole thing, from the beginning of the hike to the end when they fell asleep on the couch together. All of it was just so wonderful. I don’t know if anyone else thought so, but that for sure was my favorite scene in the whole book.
I am going to give this book 5 stars because just thinking about it sends me smiling and gives me chills because of its awesome presence. I had so much fun reading it and I am really excited to read the first one now.
To be honest, when I started reading this novel, I wasn’t sure I would like it as much as Krista Lynne Jensen’s other books. I’m so glad that such an intuition was wrong, though! The book only got better and better as it went along. And I love all of the characters and themes in it, some of them carried over from another one of Jensen’s books, The Orchard!
Lots of sweet thoughts are in it not only on love and the right couples being meant to ge together but also on loss, angels, healing, change, self-worth, and so forth. One of my favorite quotes is: “Will you please consider that maybe…all of this happened…ALL of it…because maybe you ARE good enough?”
Jokingly (based on personal experience, not Jensen’s convincing and enchanting descriptions), my one drawback to this book is that I can’t see how Wyoming would be anyone’s dreamland. But there are beautiful explanations; unexpected twists; swatches of humour…pretty much anything that you could hope for! It’s realistic while also psychological and sweet. You just have to see for yourself! It’s a complex and hard-to-explain book in the best possible way: it’s easy to read, but it is deeper to fully take in and comprehend with all of its caveats.
Ultimately, I just love seeing here how yet again, Krista Lynne Jensen is an AMAZING and admirable author!
After years of traveling the world for her successful job in the fashion industry, Elizabeth Embry is tired and empty. She has been running from her past a long time. She accepts her friend’s offer to stay two weeks in Jackson Hole, Wyoming to see if being a partner in her friend's boutique would make sense. While there, she meets the handsome Ryan Brennan, who runs the beautiful bed and breakfast where she is staying. Ryan has worked hard to build walls that hide his own painful past, but from the very first Ryan and Elizabeth are drawn to each other. As circumstances and a match-making friend keep putting them together, Elizabeth and Ryan must learn to trust each other and explore the chance for love that they have been given. I loved this book so much I read it twice in a row. The story was well-written. The characters had strengths and flaws, and struggled to find meaning, faith, and hope in their lives. The ending was very satisfying. I also enjoyed the setting, which brought back memories of the beautiful Jackson area. If you're looking for a clean romance with an uplifting theme, this is the book for you. I look forward to reading other books by Krista Lynne Jensen.
Can't actually say I did read this book. The first chapter kind of ticked me off with the condescending comments about the Temple and it's decorations. I know, seems silly. But it annoyed me. Plus, I couldn't get into the characters and her writing was confusing enough that it turned me off. I only read the first few chapters before I had to take it back to the library. Needless to say, I won't be checking it out again. Oh, and I didn't realize it was a second book. Maybe reading the other first would have helped it to be less confusing.
I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't the best book I've ever read, but it really fit my reading interest. I wish that it went into a little bit more depth as far as the main character's career and past life goes. She kept saying that she was so ashamed and scared of her past life, and it barely goes into it at the very end. Although I'm glad that they didn't linger and take forever with unimportant parts. I'm not sure that I would read this book again, or maybe more than twice, but I would definitely recommend this book to all of those dedicated romance novel readers.
A sequel to her book "The Orchard," Falling for You is a cute romance about love and redemption. Elizabeth has always scorned religion, but now that her sisters have joined the LDS church, it seems like she is meeting members everywhere she goes. Her trip to Jackson Hole becomes much more than a business trip when she meets a handsome widower who tries to convince her that she is more than she thinks she is. Language: clean, heat level: mild
Elizabeth Embry is used to flying all over the world for her job. When a friend asks her to consider taking a job in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Elizabeth decides she needs a break from life, maybe the slow pace will help her to find herself. I have to admit there were some characters-Travis-that I didn't care for. There were also some things about her past, that I felt were not answered by the end of the book. Overall I enjoyed the book.
A sweet LDS story about love and learning to move on after the death of a loved one. I thought the funniest part was when Ryan asks Elle out on a date and his parents go through the dating rules as if he was a teenager (he is 38). I laughed out loud at that and I appreciate the family relationship that he has with his parents. Not many people could move back home, and work with their parents and have a wonderful relationship doing it.
Falling for you is a wonderful sweet romance. Although it is a sequel to The Orchard, it stands alone. In my opinion it is best of the two. Elizabeth and Ryan's romance is touching. The fact that they struggle with their past, makes their automatic sparks romantic rather than cheesy. I loved the growth of their relationship and confidence that Krista does so beautifully. It was like observing a relationship rather than being told every detail.
