It's not too long before Tad is on his knees and ready to do whatever he needs to in order to make his Daddy happy.
'The Harder They Fall' is basically porn. And it's some very hot porn at that. But there's also a small dose of feels, and the tentative beginning of a relationship.
Recommended if you need something short, sexy, and kinky. I've read that the authors are planning a sequel, which I can't wait to get my pervy little hands on!

Yeah this book should have been so much longer!
If you're into Daddy kink and you like Lisa Henry as an author, this book will be for you!
But it was too damn short... I normally don't read books under 150 pages, because I really feel they are wasted potential. IMO how can you develop a relationship on such a short amount of pages?
This one was HOT! No doubt.

But I didn’t read the blurb and this book is absolutely not my cup of tea.

This was a short story about a spoiled rich brat who gets disciplined by a dominant prostitute.
Tad learns how to kneel on his knees and suffer what he makes other people do. This book was okay, but I didn't really like the whole idea about prostitution.
It was also cruel the way daddy humiliated and shunned Tad in front of Connor. The guy was crying, but I guess he deserved it from daddy since he verbally abused Connor and treated people like shit.

I enjoyed this way more than I should have and found myself wishing for more after it was over.
This is the reason I try to avoid anthologies or short stories. I just can't win. Either they bore me to tears or they are like this one. So good that I really wish someone would turn that short into an actual novel.

This will totally work for some lovers of Daddy kink, but wasn't really my cup of tea. Consists of a scene in a brothel. This is more of a humiliation scene which isn't really my favorite Daddy kink. Daddy was not unkind; I just prefer something more nurturing, loving and organic. I didn't get the emotional connection...because it was a scene, and very short. Conor being privy to Tad's humiliation (even though Tad had been mean to him first) killed that loving feeling, and even though he was eventually sent away, he stayed long to bring this to 'meh' status considering the story is so short. Maybe if he'd just been present it would have been ok, but his little verbal jabs were just..no. The verbal feminization (Daddy's p*ssy etc) didn't bother me.

I would have loved an epilogue!
2nd time around and this does not disappoint - I would still have loved an epilogue or a second story but this doesn't NEED it. You understand whats going to happen and hope it leads to a long fulfilled ending.

Wow. I’ve never been more speechless in my life, never had a complete mind for a review other than that word, “Wow,” I blew out, astounded. I read everything, seriously I do. There’s few kinks I haven’t read, some that I’ve stumbled without knowing and I’m the reader that tends to stick to a story when I’m deep and far into it. And really this isn’t the first Daddy Kink I’ve read.
I remember reading the other novel—it was a full-fledged book—and that blind sided me, because, one, didn’t know it was a daddy kink, and two, had never read that kink nor knew there was that kink. Still, I read the whole book (hated it, by the way), and cringed every time the protagonist said Daddy.
Did I cringe and stop reading this short novel? Well, see the thing was, you know. Uhm, I did finish it (read that a bit haltingly).
Now for the cringing, I was way more shocked with this short story than I was with the novel which is shocking. Tad, our main character, is one hell of a character. Entitled, spoiled, a brat, a little shit, asshole, the list can definitely go on. As for our other main character, well we don’t really get a name and I cannot call him Daddy (oops, just did) in my review nor the other name Tad calls him in his head.
The reader can tell Tad’s state of mind on the mysterious man because of how he’s dubbed in Tad’s head. We have one: the whore and two: Daddy. Seriously Tad was such an asshole and if Bossman is going to teach him discipline and Tad likes that then go for it, dude.
I’m not sure how I feel about this kink, but I’m not here for that. All I am going to say is that it was…what it was. And if you’re into it, then read this shortie. If you’re not, then stay clear of it. Don’t do it.

The whole story takes place over the course of a few hours, and Tad goes from thinking he's a bad-ass to being put in his place by his new Daddy, who for some reason finds something to love about this kid who treated one of his prostitutes exceptionally ill. (Tad got off on the power trip and abused the guy mentally and physically, thinking because he paid for it, he could do anything.) Daddy realizes that Tad has some unresolved daddy issues (his parents never gave him the attention he desired, and so never put him into check when they should have), and so now Daddy finds it his place to do so. And at first Tad balks, but he doesn't walk away. (Definitely dubious consent at first, with the "I'll show you" attitude.)
Overall, the story is well done, if a bit more... I'm not even sure of the word I'm looking for--abusive, maybe, or at least somewhat darker--than I was looking for. While I do totally understand Tad's and Daddy's motivations, I'm not sure I completely buy into Tad following Daddy at the end, seemingly without a second thought. I think that's the drawback of this being a short story instead of a longer one where we follow Tad down the rabbit hole of his newfound identity as Daddy's boy.
But, overall, an enjoyable read if that's what you're in the mood for.

This was a great short story by one of my favorite authors and an author I am less familiar with. Reviews seem to be mixed on this but for me it worked! Only L.H. could give us a hard character to like and then turn him into a sympathetic figure. The Daddy kink was hot but the humiliation portion, though deserved went further than I thought necessary (not more, just longer-think Daddy should have sent the other guy out of the room sooner than he did but D allowed him to stay and taunt Tad longer than I liked). Giving Tad boundaries and a sense of belonging and feeling wanted was just what he needed. The revelation of Daddy at the end was no surprise but fitting all the same. Loved this and would love more in the same vein, about the same characters or seeing a development of the relationship.

I can see why I gave this five stars. This is my second time reading this, and my rating still stands. As I was reading another book, which has a little bit of daddy kink, this story kept popping up in my mind. I knew I had to reread this immediately. For daddy kink fans, this is the story for you! I really hope these ladies will write more about Tad and "his daddy".
