I don't usually do romantic/suspense, but I gave it a go. I am so happy I gave this book a chance!! The love Cassie and Brian shared was something out of a fairy tale. What a suspenseful, emotional and crazy book this was. What happened to Cassie next was anything but what I expected. Adlynn Flaharty took me on an adventure I never saw coming. I laughed, I cried, and some times through the book. I was so engulfed in this read I had a hard time putting it down. This author will bring you into the characters. You will feel their emotions. You will feel their encounters as if you are there.

Cassie finally gives in to his charm, and they end up in what hopefully was a one night stand. Angry with him, and most especially herself she races home to collapse in tears of confusion and the sense that she has betrayed her late husband.
Jed is not one to give up so easily. Days later he shows up at her clinic and continues to pursue her. After confiding why she reacted as she did Cassie discovers the compassionate side of Jed. As their relationship and feelings deepens the author hints at a secret Jed is keeping. Mysterious phone calls and unanswered questions have Cassie concerned. Then Jed disappears.
Is he okay? Is she now in danger of her life? What about these new feelings she has for Jed?
Hopefully Book 2 will answer some of these questions.

Review: “I was given this book for my honest review”
I was pretty surprised at the writing of this book. It wasn’t quite what I thought it would be when I read the description. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the book but I think it could have been better written. The story was great, Cassie was going through the normal grieving process of not wanting to date or be involved with a man after her husband passed. Then she meets Jed at a convention, and he changes her mind about dating. I just didn’t really consider it too much of a romance like it is supposed to be. There were a few sex scenes, however, not like the normal romance novel you read.
I know this is the first book in a series, so I’m not completely putting it down by any means. I loved the detail on what Cassie was going through with the loss of her husband, it kept my attention the whole time for sure. The characters were great, I like that Jed is a very confident man and Cassie thinks he is an a** at first. I didn’t like how irritated he got with Cassie in some of the scenes and she just let it happen and didn’t say anything. To me that showed her as being weak and I don’t care for weak females.
I loved the ending because it was a cliff hanger, not many people like that but everyone has their own opinion. It just makes me want to read the next book to see what happens. The author knew what she was doing with the ending, so hopefully the next book will show a better side to Jed and Cassie’s relationship.

This was the first in a 4 part series, and I absolutely enjoyed it so much!! This is also my first by the author, but I plan to read a lot for from her!! Ms. Flaharty has a really great pace to which tells her story, and plus the talented way in giving us an action scene, WOW!! The characters in this book are great, Cass she is a smart and been through a awful tragedy, but she finds her way back to living again.. I loved her BFF Hope, she is such a true friend, she is very protective and there when she needs her, those qualities could be any of our BFF!!
Then Cass meets Jed Atwood, at a medical convention, and for the first time in so long, Cass feel attraction for Jed, try's to fight it, but in the end it will happen. But, Cass has so emotions she is dealing with after that night of passion together. While Cass is still struggling to understand how she feels beneath all the guilt she carries with, but she notices something is off by Jed, she has no idea, but she's ready to let him go.. Cass feels it's lies, or more than she can handle, so she tells him it's over...
Oh, but is it really over!!
I enjoyed this books so very much, it has action, heartache, great BFF and a amazing connection between two people that you can feel the hot sparks coming off the page!!

Cassie and her husband Brian were returning home to the city after celebrating their third year wedding anniversary at their cabin in the woods.
On the way home it was raining heavily causing a car accident that took her loving husband's life.
Three years later, Cassie is still grieving and having a difficult time moving forward. Her best friend Hope had suggested that she should get out, date and have some fun but Cassie's heart just was not in it.
One weekend while attending a convention for work a man named Jed had greeted her. What started out as a friendly hello went to persistence she could not shake.
Brian was her whole world.

I enjoyed this book! The book is accurate when it comes to grieving a loved one. Grief has no time frame and there is no getting over losing someone you love. All we can do is continue to live the rest of our lives with cherished memories, be grateful for the time we had with them and enjoy the people who are still here with us.

Reading this book you go through all the emotions. I could not put it down. I read the last page and had to start book immediately. The characters are so intriguing with all the ups and downs of life. You love what Cassie and Brian have and then it is taken away in an instant. This so true to life. You feel for Cassie every step that she takes with her work, friends, and the HOT Jeb. Can't wait to read book two to find out more of Jeb's life and how this is all going to play out with he and Cassie.

I felt cheated even though I got the book (70 page novella) as a free promotion. The writing was adequate, but not gripping, and the worst was that it simple stopped. I wouldn't even call it an actual cliffhanger. It was as if someone had ripped out the last page(s). Nothing to make me want to read the next one. It seemed to be a ploy on the part of the author to get you to pay for the next books, but she didn't convince me they characters were worth following.

Cheesy, just cheesy!! I didn't like this novella at all the ending sucked. It was a cliffhanger ending. Cassie, the leading female character, acts crazy throughout this entire novella... Jed the guy she hooks up with is trouble and all the bells and whistles and warning signs are there for her to know about, but she doesn't press for answers/details from him. This book was a waste of my time.

Interesting read
This was an interesting read. I personally didn't care for the pace of the book. I feel like it went way to fast, you didn't really have time to get to know the characters, they were basically thrown at you. They story line does seem really good which is why I gave it 4 stars. If left me interested enough to want to see what happens next in the series.

Horrible
I had to skim through after the first few chapters. The writing was very juvenile and not worthy of my time. OMG. I can't remember reading anything as awful as this was. Don't waste your time or money.

Good book 1 of 4
I enjoyed reading this book. I couldn't stop until I finished. Cassie lost her husband after her 3 year anniversary. She meets Jed at a medical convention. Jed invades her live and starts to make her feel again and than disappears.

I really enjoyed this book. This book had me wondering what was going on from the beginning. I wanted to keep reading to see what would happen with Jed and Cassie. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

This was a awesome book
This was awesome loved it I cried for Cassie and all she lost. When she meets Jed she starts to feel again but what is Jed hiding. So you have mystery, it's intense also. You well love it can not wait to read book two.

This book had a good story premise. A women losses her husband unexpectedly and goes through a grieving process. Along the way she meets a man. Unsure and wanting something with this man she realizes his life and theirs may not be what she thought.
The first chapter was written like someone was writing a paper for school. Too much use of character names for me. Too unnatural. People together all the time don't actually use the other person's name as much as in this first chapter. I felt it needed to be written more relaxed and less "teacher approved".
The first encounter with the new man on the scene I felt was a bit abrupt. I felt it needed a bit more detail. It's been 3 years for Cassie, not 3 months.
There were things that happened or was said that I wanted to say, " Why?". Give me more. Explain more. Why did he say that? Why did she act that way?
As a first time author I think Adlynn Flaharty has promise. I believe she has a good idea here. I think she should develop her story more. For me it was like outlining. Here is the premise of the story. Just needed to be developed.
Because I'm interested to see how Adlynn's writing develops and what is happening with Jeb and Cassie I will get the second book.
