Born the second twin, Fae was always the shadow-the quiet teacher, the caretaker, the one who stayed in the shadows and let her siblings shine. When her sister became Luna to a powerful Alpha, she recognised his widowed cousin, Blaidd, as her own. But he was a man still chained to the memory of his dead mate. For too many years, she raised his children, kept his home, and did her best to make him see her. But when she discovers the rune carved into his flesh-a witch's mark ensuring she could never bear his child-the truth extinguishes that last illusion of love. In a public hearing before her Alpha, she asks for what no mated wolf ever the right to live her own life. Her courage ripples through the pack, exposing the cracks in every tradition meant to keep her bound. And as she steps beyond her mate's shadow toward a distant land and a craft that calls to her soul, she begins to awaken to the woman she was always meant to be - one carved not from obedience, but from fire, freedom, and forgotten dreams.
I loved this so much! I think this is far and away Raegan’s best work to date. She’s created a completely new and fascinating world and I’m obsessed!
Spoilery thoughts…
FMC has been with her life mate for eight years. She’s his second life mate… rare but not unheard of. He and his miserable children are awful to her. He’s also brought home another woman (who wants him, of course) and our homegirl is DONE!
She petitions the pack to drop him and go on a journey of discovery. This is unheard of in their world. The pack is horrified to learn of the MMC’s failures and she’s granted leave.
The MMC is consistently gone for weeks at a time. He has no idea what’s happening until he comes home to an empty house and a Dear John letter that will rip your heart out. It was awesome. 😈
Revelations are soon brought to light. Things are absolutely not what they seem.
The FMC is a gifted woodworker and she travels far to apprentice with a master. The new land, customs, and friends she makes are so rich and magical.
There are many twists and turns throughout the story with magic, witches, changelings, and more. The side characters are written with soul and I’m dying for their stories! There is a hard earned HEA for our OG couple.
I was really impressed by this. It’s filled with creativity. I love that Raegan writes the angst/betrayal tropes I love without a whisper of AI. That’s increasingly hard to find and I’m grateful! I bought this for my perma shelf. ❤️
I dived into this baby thinking it was just a regular old rejected mate story. I should have known better. Raegan never writes anything that is "regular old". This story started out pretty angsty, with the heroine never truly accepted by her Hero or his kids (who were all still in love with his first wife/mother of the kids). I kind of wish that part had dragged out a little longer, and that the angst had ratcheted up a notch (or 10 notches) more. But the real story starts after the heroine decides she's had enough, and she gets permission from the pack to leave her mate and start her life again.
The journey of both the Hero and the heroine takes off from there. The heroine is determined to start her life anew, trying to find a way to break her bond to her mate. The Hero is shattered that she left him, and is working to track her down and do everything in his power to get her to come back to him again. This story turned into more of a fated mate/evil fairy creature story. The story is woven in rich, vivid descriptions that make the characters and their environment feel so realistic as well as otherworldly and creepy. There are twists and turns, and a bit of a reveal towards the ending. The story itself was a bit long, but I enjoyed the entire story.

What an amazing author! My first read, won’t be my last. But please, Fire your editor and get someone who can do the job. That person is NOT helping you.
Fae finds Blaidd, her lifemate. However, all is not as it seems. Blaidd does not treat her well and takes off on long trips leaving her with his 2 bitchy children from a previous marriage. After 8 years she has had enough and gets permission to leave the pack ( unheard of). She is a woodworker and goes overseas to train with a master.
Blaidd has been waiting 8 years ignoring Fae because of a witch spell. After his mate leaves, he goes crazy. He follows her to apologize. The 8 years is over.
There are so many twists and turns in this book. It is constantly entertaining. I had a hard time putting it down. Until….i just got tired of it. I can’t tell you why. I was just done. (But didn’t quit reading) He kept apologizing and the witch stuff was an excellent excuse. She kept pushing him away, couldn’t decide… 🙄 just make a decision already!!! They are mates. 🙄
The side characters are amazing. Loved every one.
Several times something would happen or something said and I would be, wait a minute where is the backstory for that. Makes no sense. Oh well…..
And when she is huge and pregnant and worrying about her body and looks, Blaidd bends to Fae to kiss the curve of her neck. “Fae, I have never found you more beautiful.” They work it out. 😜
It started as a solid 5 stars. But by the end although I mostly loved it, there was just no way.
The author is talented I will read more. So.. Recommend!
I am in the minority here because this bored me to death and it was just plain stupid. Plot was stupid. MCs were stupid. Side characters were stupid. The "baddies" were stupid. Everything about it was stupid and I wasted so much time reading this crap.
SPOILER ALERT!
First of, aren't all MMCs in paranormal romances supposed to be Alpha dudes or something? I am no paranormal expert but I seem to have read a handful in my time and I know the basics. This one was NOT it!
MCs are supposed to be fated mates, yet MMC married OW and stayed married to her for 8 years because of some lame excuse. Yes, yes, we are told how he was manipulated by the OW to make him think that OW was his fated mate instead of FMC but here is were the plot lost me:
- First of, FMC & MMC were in the same colony/pact (whatever) and if FMC who is younger than him stated that she knew he was her fated mate growing up and was devastated when he married OW, why didn't he know/recognize her too as his fated mate? Make it make sense people.
- Secondly, yes, we are told that he was fooled to think OW was his fated mate because she (or another baddie) stole FMC's blood to somehow fool him & his wolf into thinking she was his true mate which was stupid because shouldn't his wolf at least be smart enough to reject her and for him to get a clue long before he married her? What kind of fated mate plot crap is this?
- Third, we are told he knew OW was pregnant with OM's kids and yet he still married her and often thought of her kids as his and expected FMC to help raise them. Uhm, why? And what about the 3rd kid that the OW was carrying - was it his kid or not? In one chapter he states that it wasn't, but then later on when someone refers to the baby the OW was carrying before she died as his, he never corrects them and we are led to think that it was his kid after all because he only got that tattoo or whatever it was called after the OW was pregnant with the 3rd kid. Timelines was wonky here with this author.
- Fourth, if he realized at some point that OW wasn't his fated mate, why did he continue sleeping with her? Why was he so damn weak & dumb to allow OW and the witch to manipulate him? As side characters all told him, he had options and the excuse that he was too young and all that was just pure BS because he was NOT too young for the entire 8 year relationship with OW!
- Fifth, all the times he was leaving FMC to go wherever he went and stayed away for weeks & months without touching and all, why wasn't he in pain? Same for FMC. Why did it take FMC to finally leave his ass behind for him to need to be with her and touch her? Stupid plot once again.
- Six, why did we need a love triangle? It wasn't enough that we had all that crap in the beginning with MMC & OW but author had to also insert all that nonsense with the OM too? Speaking of which, what was that? One minute she acts as if she is attracted to OM and all bothered when she sees him naked, then she knows OM is into her and does nothing to stop it. But then in the end it's briefly mentioned that she only sees him as her friend when the story was leaning into a romantic triangle in all the pages before then?
- Seven, speaking of OM, how many women was he into? First it was the one who stole his life, then it was the OW who was into him (the one that saved their asses in the end) and he saw her as boring or something, only for later in the story to be hurt at her indifference to him and jealous of her relationship with MMC's brother while at the same time mooning after FMC, etc.
- Eight, more than anything, the let down came towards the end when both FMC & MMC turned out to be stupid & useless as leads because at 3 different times in the story, both FMC & MMC had to be rescued by others, never on their own or by their "mate". FMC was in 3 different "dangerous" situations and it was never MMC who rescued her but OM and others. Ditto for MMC. Even towards the end when the MCs are supposed to defeat the baddie, they basically just go to confront the baddie only to be captured before they can say a word. And while FMC is being hurt and about to be killed off, we don't even get MMC's POV or anything from him to rescue his mate! They are basically rescued by a side character (the OW I mentioned above) that we only meet once in this story who kills off the baddie. Lol. Then FMC once again is about to be killed off and guess who is not there to rescue his mate? Yep, it's the FMC's sister who kills the dude.
- Nine, speaking of the killer dude, why make him into a bad guy when throughout the story he was shown as a decent guy who was a loving husband, father, leader, friend, etc.? Author couldn't find someone else without ruining that relationship(s)? Disappointing.
- Ten, the ending. How disappointing. So we spend the entire story being told how FMC is moving on without MMC because he hurt & ignored her for 8 years (BTW, MMC was married to OW for 8 years and to FMC for 8 years as well. How original. Lol) and is moving on without him, blah, blah, blah. We have A LOT of chapters at nauseum of her wood working skills/lesson that I could have done without that was basically filler pages, and her running away being angry with MMC even though he explained to her why he did what he did and she understood but couldn't forgive him because of all the hurt she suffered through for 8 years. So they go from her constantly pushing him away to suddenly finding out that MMC needs to go back home to save his people and for her to stay put and away from any danger. Then she decides to follow him to "help" him which was a joke in itself and after the other side character rescues & kills the baddie for them, suddenly author ends it with an ILY, FMC almost being killed yet again by another baddie and The End. Uhm? When did she forgive him?
Eleven, she was given some kind of witchy stone or something that was supposed to remove the fated mate bond and that may have unknown consequences. She carried that thing with her for several days/weeks(?) and that plot was basically forgotten. Did that thing work or not? Apparently not since their fated bond by the end is still intact but would it have consequences in the near future? Who knows. Who cares.
Anyway, I'm glad others found it entertaining but all it did for me is annoy me. I guess paranormal romances are just not for me. If there had not been all the OP inserted in this story, I may have suffered enough to give it a 2 star or something. As it is, this was just plain dumb writing and MMCs who can't remain faithful in paranormal romances is not something I ever want to read again.
Raegan Slander has woven a tale that has stolen my heart and I don't think I am going to be getting it back. Fae is a an amazing character who has lived her life in the shaddows when she steps out to put herself first she is a force to be reckoned with.
Blaidd is a really complelling MMC his growth and journey throughtout this book had me transfixed. If you love paranormal romance, rejected mates, betrayl and grovel look no futher.
This was different. I wasn’t expecting the story to go where it went so 3 stars for an unusual shifter story. I will say it dragged a bit for me but the twist at the end made up for it. The epilogue was sweet.
Blaidd’s fated mate Isolde was murdered by enemies along with their unborn child. They already had a son and daughter.
He realizes 18 year old Fae is his second mate a couple of weeks later.
Eight years in and Blaidd is gone constantly. They do not have a good mating. His children hate her. He also brought Rowena home. She’s was an injured she wolf who looks just like Isolde.
Fae is so miserable she approaches her brother in law the Alpha and also her twin sister’s husband. She has signed papers saying Blaidd agrees with ending the mating.
She will never have the family she desires. His children hate her, Rowena is still living in their home and he never denies her anything. The end is Fae finds a witches ruin on Blaidd. He will never be able to give her children.
The Alpha and her siblings are so upset with how she’s been treated. He agrees she can leave. Fae wants to travel East to learn to woodwork and find an amulet to gently break the bond.
Fae travels to Japan to study woodworking under a master.
Nothing in the story is what it seems. Down to a wooden cat toy she has.

Paranormal romance is one of my favorite subgenres, specifically shifter romances. A big reason for that is the fated-mates trope it usually has, and I've always been fascinated with how shifter societies operate - their authority structure and hierarchy, pack rules, and the sacredness of the mate bond. In this newest book by Raegan Salander, I got to enjoy all of that in one very unique story that centered on a perceived betrayal, and the main characters' subsequent efforts at rectifying it. This story has quite the surprising plot twists, and the magic described in their society was undoubtedly unique.
Character-wise, both Fae and Blaidd were the kind that I find very easy to admire and love. When the heroine in a story is being treated badly, I want her to be the kind who eventually decides once for all that enough is enough, and is determined to make a better life for herself by leaving. Yes, she did all she could to be the best mate for Blaidd, but once it was obvious her situation wasn't going to improve, she made an executive decision to remove herself from a situation where she wasn't being respected, valued, and loved. And even after Blaidd started making amends, she wasn't easily swayed, and she made Blaidd work desperately hard to earn back her trust. I hate heroines who easily forgive!
As for Blaidd, well I definitely despised him in the earliest chapters. I truly wondered how he was going to be redeemed, given the gravity of what he did to Fae as his mate. Good thing there'd been a valid reason for all that betrayal, and I appreciated that he was made to work sufficiently hard for his redemption. After all was said and done, he was an exceptional mate, so getting to that point in the story later on made the torture of the early chapters worth enduring.
I'm not sure if this book is the start of a new series, but I'm very much hoping that it is, because there are so many more beautiful stories that can be written with the other characters introduced in this book. If more books are indeed yet to come from this specific shifter society, then Ms. Raegan can definitely already count me in as one sure consumer of those future stories.
I was granted a free advanced copy of this book. This honest review is offered fully voluntarily.
First of all a standing ovation for the H’ s mother She said that mmc was an embarrassment and her daughter in law deserved better 👏👏👏👏👏👏 THE LETTER 😭😭😭😭😭it broke me Fae is so strong My heart also breaks for blaidd He was false mated to the ow he Did not have feelings for her it was forceful a magical spell even then he felt that the bond was hollow and he tried to make it work I get it cause he thought she was his mate and this was before he met the h but he realised something was wrong and when he found out he didn’t want to betray his real life mate anymore He had to keep the h at a distance because of a magical spell 💔💔💔 It was so sweet when he said he will try to be the best mate according to the good mates requirement list made by fae the fmc when she was 14
I wish he didn’t sleep with ow the false mate before meeting h , I would have loved if he was a v to like the h
Really nice suprise. I didnt think the author could redeem the Hero at the start but things are not as they seem. Perceived cheating , dead ex and new other woman. Heroine leaves Heroine has option to pursue other man in love interest but doesn't.

I tried so hard to get into this book. At the 40% mark, I knew that it just wasn’t working for me. I just could not connect to the characters or the story.
I really like Raegan Salander stories. This is no different. I liked the overarching story. I loved the characters. It is confusing more than it’s not. It’s also sad. I’m not sure why some of the things had to happen. But it was a good time.
I have been gobbling up paranormal and shifter romance lately, and Fae and Blaidd were the perfect next read. A Shadow of Her was so heartbreaking at times and yet SO good. The creativity and Lore was fascinating and while I did not like Blaidd, my perspective on him shifted when his story came to light. It was brutal, but (has to be repeated) was a really unique and creative betrayal that Blaidd both had a hand in and also didn’t. For the reader, that gave me complexity in who Blaidd was and his choices.
Fae was understandably heartbroken and I loved how she chose to put herself first after a long time of shrinking to fit a role that never embraced her. She’s stalwart and determined that the end of her farce mating will not be the end of her and sets about pursuing her passion with a master. The story comes together as their mating fell apart. The side characters were vivid and have me salivating that they get their own stories (🤞🏻Kenji, Aiko and Sora 😭)!
Interesting and different betrayal shifter story with all the feels, classic Salander-style. I really hope she gets the itch to come back and write more in this world!
Raegan Salander has done it again. She has woven a heartbreaking haunting tale set in the world of magical beings and shifters. I love Raegan’s more contemporary stories, but when she delves into magical realms and magical beings she has a way of transporting me to another world that is both beautiful and frightening.
This is the story of Faelynn and Blaidd, or should I say they are the heroine and hero of this tale. The author has a way of including side characters that in my opinion really flesh out the beauty of her storytelling. She also included a few twists in this story that you will not see coming. I do not plan on spoiling it here.
I will put some minds at ease before giving an overview, this story doesn’t include cheating. I know for some people that is a no go, and I am letting you know that cheating is not a part of the betrayal.
The story starts with Faelynn asking the alpha Maxen cousin to he husband, and husband to her twin sister, permission to leave the pack to train under an expert craftsman far away. She tells them she will come back but at this point her 8 year marriage to Blaidd is a sham and he won’t miss her anyway. He is always gone, and only comes back due to his need to mate with Faelynn as he is conditioned to. When she discovers that he has a rune preventing her from ever carrying his children, she realizes that she cannot live this way anymore and needs to find a way to permanently break the bond. Here is the thing, she is his second mate. His first mate Isolde died, and was pregnant at the time. He also has 2 children with his first wife and they refuse to bond with Faelynn, but she takes care of them while he is gone 90 percent of the time. Then to add insult to injury, he moved in Rowena after finding her battered and starved in the woods. She looks a lot like his dead wife and his children are kind to her unlike Faelynn. Basically, Faelynn is a servant in her home that is a shrine to his first dead wife. He was Faelynn’s first lover and he has shown very little kindness to her.
The alpha gives her permission to leave with the understanding that she will return. She has to travel far far away to go to the master trainer and find someone who can break the bond. She also carries a mysterious box with its own magical properties. Magical properties that reveal themselves when she reaches her destination.
Blaidd, senses something is wrong. He rushes to get home, but is fighting a snowstorm. He tries reaching out via pack link, but has no luck. He arrives to a dark home. He keeps calling out to Fae! Over and over…seems sort of peculiar for a man who is torn up over his first wife! He is greeted by his sil and alpha husband…they exchange words. Then, he opens the letter left for him by Fae(her letter was so heartsick, It made me weep for the years she put up with). Of course there is more to Blaidd’s story, more to his distance and his behavior. And when he is done telling it your heart will break for him as well!
Her travels take her to Fukamori, and the master craftsman. She is also hoping to get an amulet that breaks her bond. Fukamori holds even more secrets, and more evil on the outskirts. It is here she meets lifelong friends and is accepted as one of their own, she is unaware that her husband, her one true mate is on his way. He has things he can finally reveal…
There are few more twists the story take us on before our couple get their HEA, but one thing for certain is that you will want Blaidd and Faelynn to finally get the life they should have already had.
This story is shifters and fated mates explores the turmoil and toll that takes place on destined ones who have others pitting against them. It feels similar to a rejected mate story even though she was not publicly rejected. Although it doesn’t appear to be the case, Blaidd has one true love, and Faelynn is her name.
I hope that Raegan will explore the stories of some of the other characters as it is very easy to fall in love with them. I am not going to lie and say that I have not fallen to a few AI generated stories that come across my feeds, but when you read real authors writing genuine stories like Raegan does, you know instantly that only a real person behind the words can wrap you up and give you the escape you crave!
This was such an interesting book to read with complex, damaged protagonists and a plot with twists that keeps you guessing! I love the dynamics of romance where the heroes fight against the fall for each other just as fiercely as they fight their adversaries. There are themes of past family dramas, initial forced proximity, other woman/man, new found family, heroine with a spine, secrets, physical violence, emotional damage and angst but it culminates in a hard-won HEA for the two main characters.
Fae is a strong yet reserved wolf woman who has been badly treated by her nomadic husband as a poor second best to his dead first wife and is publicly slandered every day by her stepchildren. Eight years of a painful and shameful half-life has hardened her spine and she makes a submission to the alpha to take an apprenticeship to a woodwork master craftsman on a faraway island. She also hopes to find an amulet that will dissolve the bond between her husband and herself. Once ensconced in her new place and position, she finds a found family and a village that support and care for her and she feels that her life is looking up.
Blaidd is a battle-hardened and brutal warrior for the pack who has been silently dealing with an event and trauma that he has brought on himself, but he cannot allow the consequences to impact the pack. So he undertakes lonely quests and stays away from Fae, from his children and the pack members, isolating himself in the hopes that the bond and his lifemate will unwittingly wait for him. But he has made a grievous error in judgement and now that the eight years of waiting has passed, the ensuing battle and fight for the pack, for themselves and their true way of life must begin.
So many events transpired in this tale to create an enthralling plot and we witness the push and pull between the two main characters, conversations and interactions with found family, secrets, betrayals and the soulful redemption of the hero. With an engaging plot, interesting characters and hidden twists, the story pulled me in and had me avidly turning the pages. I have thoroughly enjoyed the hours of respite this reading has gifted me and I thank the author for giving me the opportunity to enjoy the arc and provide my voluntary review.
Where do I even begin with this one? I absolutely loved how this story opens. The betrayal is immense, and my heart broke for Fae as the truth of her situation became clear. After spending so many years giving everything to Blaidd and his children, the realisation of what had been done to her was devastating.
"You escaped… But where could I go?"
This turns the second chance shifter mate romance trope on it’s head. And then… the author takes everything you think you know, turns it upside down, and leaves you sitting there in shock as the pieces start falling into place. Just when you think you might have figured something out, another revelation comes along and changes everything. And that final major twist? I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!
I loved watching Fae begin to find herself and realise that she deserved so much more than being left in the shadows of someone else's life. Her journey towards freedom, independence, and discovering who she really is was such a powerful part of the story.
"Why should I suffer because I was cursed to be chained to a lifemate like you?"
I will admit, though, that I occasionally found myself a little confused with all the characters, love triangles, and lifebonds. At times, I felt like I needed a mind map just to keep track of who was connected to whom! There is a lot going on, and I sometimes had to pause and piece things together.
But that plot! The twists, the revelations, the betrayal, and the way everything eventually comes together kept me hooked. And that ending… seriously, I am still thinking about it!
A gripping, emotional read full of heartbreak, complicated relationships, shocking revelations, and a heroine finding the strength to claim her own future. If you love shifter romance with plenty of drama and twists you won't see coming, this one is definitely worth picking up!
I’ve read this author before and I am always pleasantly surprised with the stories. She comes up with. This one was pretty good. I didn’t think there was a way to fix him. I just didn’t like him and found his personality to be incredibly dry and just kinda meh. However, she did a good job explaining everything what he was going through why he was hiding it. I don’t think he handled it correctly. I think if he had guts, he could’ve figured out another option, but it is what it is. It actually didn’t lose a star for that even though you’d think that’s why I deducted a star, but I actually deducted a star because of all of the Japanese stuff and the wooden cat stuff. I feel like she heard about it and had this idea in her head that she had to put it in a book, even though it just didn’t mesh with the plot at all. It really took you out of the story and kind of robbed your focus and it was truly just fluff. I mean, I could go pages of her talking about weapons and the cat and get absolutely nothing added to the story. Basically the story was over at the 40% Mark. You figured out you were gonna forgive him. He was gonna try and earn it back and the rest was just kind of filler. I really think she should’ve taken about 100 pages out of this book and not done all of the Japanese stuff it was just wasted words. But again, I don’t regret reading it. It was a good story but lots of just too much extra.
I came in expecting something simple… a Betrayal Novel. Straightforward it was not..
The story is set deep.
I loved the cultures it crossed and mythologies and customs brought in. The shifter communities were not shallow but ancient and true.
I would love to read more in this world. The Author created a magical space where I breathed every word.
There are epic betrayals and lessons learnt and lessons ignored by some. Everything is not what it seems. It's not a simple tale. There are many layers to this book and many branches.
I am hoping this is the beginning and there will be more.
It settles like a light cloak around your body hugging you tight. Welcoming you into a new world.
xxx
***He looked at her then, not with hope but with resignation and anger "No," he had whispered. "Not again"***
***“I am sorry I put you through that," he continued, voice low and steady. "Sorry I was not the mate you deserved. Sorry I made my hell yours. Sorry I hurt you when I should have been your shield."***
This is a really well written book that will take you through a myriad of emotions. The wolf pack that this is set reminds me of the islands that are secluded and the tribes trade as needed but keep to themselves. People don't leave especially not the women and here in lies our heroine who wants more for herself after finally giving up on being treated properly by her mate. Make no mistake she is not weak. She is just tired of giving to a man, family and pack who turn a blind eye to how she's treated all under the guise of "not my business" 😒 Fae doesn't make noise she makes a plan sets said plan into motion and follows through. So we have a woman finding herself and finally learning to trust her instincts and grow in what she loves to do. And on the flip we have a man who realizes too late that there is no "just one more year" and I'll do better. Or is there?😮 There are a couple of plot twists that will make you gasp out loud.
* FMC Faelynn X MMC Blaidd * HEA * Betrayal * Shifter * Paranormal romance * Surprise twist
Okay honestly hated what Blaidd did to Fae, she didn't deserve how she was treated and I really thought Raegan was going a different way I was not expecting the twists. In the end I did feel bad for Blaidd he was tricked but it doesn't mean that I think Fae should have put up with things.
I loved Faes growth throughout, her matching at such a young age to Blaidd really showed her naivety, faith in the bond and trust. We dont see the slow erosion of her instead we are see the final nail in the coffin for her after 8 years of trauma. Yes I believe it was trauma and abuse, even if things weren't as they seemed she deserved to be treated better.
I truly believe Blaidd was her match at the end, and loved her arc where she grows into her own person.
Loved this quote:
"Healing did not always happen in the place of breaking."
Sometimes you need to leave the place that broke you to heal.
A Shadow of Her: Faelynn & Blaidd by Raegan Salender is a paranormal fated mates, betrayal and grovel romance. It is emotional and heartbreaking and full of surprising twists. Fae has only ever wanted a mate that loves and sees her, but all we see is a man that leaves her and seems to not see her at all. But not all is as it seems. Now she is asking her alpha for the chance to leave temporarily to follow her dream and maybe freedom. Fae’s and Blaidd’s journey is not easy, but I loved seeing her come into herself ad grow. Though Blaidd left a lot to be desired, he was able to redeem himself.
It was OK. It dragged on a bit. I skimmed at the end.
I liked the beginning when Fae showed a backbone. I also liked her little wooden toy Feraal, who spoke to her. The rest of the story was a bit haphazard and meandered a bit. I felt it was trying to branch out with different plot lines that kind of went nowhere. The main story with Fae and Blaidd took a bit too long to get to their HEA. The plot twist in the end was also a bit out of nowhere IMO but I did like how it resolved itself. I dunno. I didn't hate it but felt a bit like it could have been half as long and been a bit tighter with the storyline.
It was OK. I didn't hate it but not sure I'd read it again.
Oh my goodness, this book was so fulfilling. It seems like a strange compliment to me but it’s the only one that encompasses all of the emotions of the read. Fae and Blaidd’s story has so many twists and turns and kept me guessing all the way through. I love the rich and vivid world that Raegan built. All of the supporting characters bring such depth to the main story. I cannot wait to see more from these characters and their stories as well.
I loved Fae and Blaidds story. The shifter and the witchy elements were exactly on point, and the story was so beautifully written. You felt the heartbreak and the love these characters had for eachother. This is a must-read, and I can't wait for more.
One of my favorite quotes:
"If he refuses to grant me a full life, then I ask for the right to claim one of my own. Not as his mate or that of another, not as anyone's shadow, but on my own."
Really enjoyed Fae and Blaidd- read it the first time and enjoyed the revised even more! Fae has finally had enough of her life mate and takes her life into her own hands, only for us to find out that Blaidd wasn’t himself and outside forces were working against them. Plot twists all the way to the end!!!
I absolutely love this author! She is one of my all-time favorites, and her books never disappoint. Her stories are consistently excellent, and this one was no exception. Another amazing read that I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end! I always look forward to her next book. So much love and appreciation for her wonderful work! ❤️
