Elise tiene que volver a Haven Island después de muchos años debido a la muerte de su abuelo, quien le dejó la cabaña donde pasó gran parte de su infancia. Su plan es sencillo: encargarse de los asuntos pendientes, poner la propiedad a la venta y regresar a su vida lo más pronto posible. Lo que no esperaba era volver a encontrarse con Oliver.
Años atrás, Oliver fue su mejor amigo y también el chico del que estuvo enamorada, pero la vida terminó llevándolos por caminos separados. Ahora él sigue viviendo en la isla, tiene una hija llamada Suzie y una buena vida. Volver a verlo no debería significar nada, solo debería ser solo otro recuerdo del pasado, pero pasar tiempo juntos hace que ella empiece a cuestionarse si realmente dejó atrás todo lo que sentía por él.
Mientras intenta vender la cabaña, Elise comienza a descubrir que Haven Island todavía sigue siendo su lugar favorito.

This was such a feel-good, cozy read! Think Hallmark or Lifetime holiday movie in book form. And if you know me at all, you know I NEVER turn off the Hallmark Channel during the holidays, so this was right up my alley.
We’ve got all the things you need to make a sweet romantic story: a handyman single dad, a cozy cottage on an island, a winter festival, and a second-chance romance that gives you all the warm and cozy feels of the season. There was no spice in this one, which was honestly refreshing, and it made for such an easy, comforting read.
Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something light, cozy, and predictably happy!

I love a second chance romance and especially one that features childhood memories that were never able to blossom into a relationship. The unfinished nature of their relationship led to feelings that formed quickly. The adorable daughter in this story brings Oliver and Elise together for some sweet scenes.
I think this is a pretty predictable story but had a cozy holiday feel to it and even though it’s light on drama is the perfect setting for a sweet romance.
