All the Stars We Buried by Elle Madison
-A Legacy of Broken Thrones, Book 1-
3.5/5⭐️
.5/3🌶️ (1 vague, brief scene)
2/3🦋
•My Thoughts•
This was a mixed bag for me. I enjoyed the storyline and the overall world and magic but found many of the details to be so confusing. I really struggled to make sense of certain moments and orders of events and it definitely took me out of the story. I loved the plant/earth magic and the different realms. I liked our main characters. They were both just good people trying to do their best and I liked their communication.
I feel that this was “mis-marketed“ and it definitely affected my experience. The author said this was a standalone with a “happy for now” ending and I very much disagree. I don’t think we got enough closure for this to be labeled as a standalone with that cliffhanger ending and no one was happy. It sets up for book 2 well but book 1 was *not* complete in my opinion. It was such a let down at the end to not have everything wrapped up as expected.
Overall, I enjoyed myself enough to happily keep reading despite the world building issues but the ending really threw me off. I’m undecided about continuing the series.
🌶️spice thoughts: This was also marketed as a “fade to black” spice level and I disagreed with that too. 😅 There was one scene I would consider open door (I recognize there is nuance to this but I’m mentioning for consistency across my page). While the author kept the scene brief and used vague and emotional language, the reader is present throughout the whole intimate moment.
Thank you to Elle Madison for the gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book dove right into action, which I loved. I got thrust right into this dying world of Druids in a wood that had deadly and adorable creatures both.
The magic system was unique and I loved that mix of Fae & Druid magic. The earth and stars and how it all worked.
Xandros is one of my new favorite MMCs 😍
Meant to be an enemy but all I got was green flags 😍
He, Verena, and her Bramble were such a fun trio to read about even amongst all the strife in their world.
This book made me laugh, cry, and ponder. I felt like I was there with them in the woods, and the libraries, and the cities. The ending shattered me but also gave me hope and I'm looking forward to see what book 2 will bring 🤩

3.5 Stars.
The vibes:
- Standalone fantasy
- Plant magic
- Portal
- Animal sidekick
- Open door (vague, brief)
My thoughts:
I loved the main characters. Xandros was a strong warrior type, but I loved how he was a strong, silent type while being gentle in spirit (but not feeling weak). I liked Verena with her independence while not being abrasive and annoying. I really liked Bramble the Pine Marten. The animal kindred bond was so adorable, and I loved seeing that done in a non-cheesy way. It’s not like we have talking squirrels running around. The connection bond felt SO cute.
I loved how unique the story was. The magic system with the plants was really cool. I liked how I never fully knew where the author was going to go and how she didn’t write a predictable cookie cutter story. This really felt like something new to me which is rare.
That said, I was confused quite a bit with some of the explanations of the magic and the world building in general. I felt like I had a good grasp on the big picture idea, but I got very lost in the weeds with the writing style. Going along with that, the ending left so much to be explored. This book is marketed as a standalone (happy for now), but I don’t feel that’s the case. Many plot points were not concluded by the end, and I would argue that the couple has not reached a happy for now status. It has me questioning who the next book will be about because this couples’ story feels unfinished on multiple levels.
Note / spice content: open door (1-2 scenes, Very vague- not explicit; focused more on the make out and the emotional connection but you do know what’s happening and it occurs on page.)
Release date: September 8, 2026.
Thank you so much to Elle Madison and Black Petal Publishing for the gifted copy. I received this eARC from the author/publisher, but this honest review is voluntary.

AHHHHHHH
Obligatory this was an ARC given to me and I’m leaving this review voluntarily
3.5 stars because I have some ISSUES with this book, but it also almost made me cry and feel so many emotions and I can’t give it 3 stars then. Minor spoilers ahead for the vibe of the book and its ending but no details.
My biggest issue with this book was that it was marketed as a standalone with a “happy for now ending”. Anyone going into this: this is INACCURATE. That’s not to say the story was bad, but this is definitely book 1 of a series with a minor cliffhanger vibe much more than it is a standalone. There are so many loose ends and the ending is SO bittersweet that it honestly hits harder than a lot of cliffhanger endings I’ve read. I’m a bit heartbroken at the ending and I really wish book 2 was coming soon but, because it was marketed as a standalone, I’m not sure if that book will be coming soon. I love Madison’s writing, but this is the first book I’ve read by only her and I have not experienced that level of a sad ending from her, so it definitely took me by surprise.
The plot in general was very interesting and the powers are quite cool, although I definitely thought of Xandros as more sun warm light over star and moon magic so that kept throwing me off. Also, there was a lot of plot that was given to the readers instead of it being learned through the story. Verena is often being lied to or mislead by many of the characters and then they finally reveal details when necessary. It’s understandable, but it does give the plot a telling-more-than-showing vibe for most of the big revelations. Other times the information is just discovered by accident or at suspiciously convenient times. Makes me wonder if there is a lot more going on behind the scenes which Verena has started to suspect. ESPECIALLY when it comes to the evil brother king from the fae realm. Lots of loose ends which make me want to continue the series so that is successful, but it definitely doesn’t make this feel like a standalone read. At times the plot was confusing to read and I think part of that is because of all these unexplained things and loose ends.
The side characters are interesting and I want to know more. Bramble is the cutest and I NEED more. I also want to know more about the people in Xandros’ life besides his asshole brother because we mostly learn about Verena's friends. I also have a little pet peeve of showing me a big map for a big world but only ever experiencing a part of it. Again, this decision feels more like a book 2 is definitely needed.
The biggest success of the book however was the main couple’s chemistry. Madison always writes good, witty, and cute banter with enough detail in the scenes leading up to a fade-to-black that their chemistry is still very hot and satisfying and this book ends in a way where I’m interested in seeing how they deal with the consequences of the ending together. I love a fated mates' book too without it being insta-lust and this definitely delivers. I think the best scenes were with them figuring out why they liked each other and working on problems together.
Overall, I certainly enjoyed this book, but I need more. I think this DEFINITELY needs a book 2 in order for me to ever feel okay about this ending. That being said, I am interested and I WANT to read more so that’s successful. And I want Verena and Xandros to get happy endings for them and their people, so I am invested even if part of the plot was confusing or not complete enough. If cliffhangers bug you then you might want to wait until more from this series comes out before diving head in but if you don’t mind some emotional damage with your romantasy then definitely pick this one up!

This was such a beautifully written story. I loved how unique the magic system was. And the worlds were built so well. Their description and imagery were excellently created. Both of the main characters really drove this story. Each hating one another’s kind, and then a bond forms between them. Two worlds dying, and both are wanting the same thing. To save their world. I was pulled into this so fast. Feeling like I was right there with them through then finding truths and secrets. Working together and building in more ways than one. I absolutely loved this story.

Elle never ceases to amaze me! Whether she wrote by herself or as a co-writer, I'm always hooked instantly and it's impossible not to devour the book.
The magic system was fun and the world building was well done. There is so much potential for this world to grow and expand from this story.
Verena and Xandros have such well written chemistry - Elle did not disappoint - but ultimately Bramble stole me heart, I loved him so much. By far my favourite character!

OH MY GODDDDDDD 😭😭😭 What an incredible and unique story by Elle! I absolutely love the two different worlds and how they are connected by a magical bridge/portal; the whole concept was intriguing and the worlds dying had me theorizing from the start! I loved the magics of the two different worlds, the Wild of the Deepwood and the star magic of Asterra. There was so much emotion and heart in both of our main characters and frustration with surrounding characters that just stood in their way or hindered them by withholding information. The idea that the magic was literally being consumed by the blight—the Indigo—was so interesting to me, and I had theories about why this was happening, and I *think* I was proven right in the end, though there are a few things that weren't actually tied up for me, so I am hoping that Elle will write another book to continue this story and wrap up the loose ends/plot points that felt like it was leading up to a second book. This book and ending was honestly tragic to me and had me sobbing and left with more questions than answers.
All being said and done, this book was so good. The storytelling and characterization was phenomenal. The character development, forced proximity, reluctant allies, and the banter between our two main characters were all so well done and kept me wanting more! And I absolutely ADORED Bramble! What a little sweetheart baby 😭 So this is why I felt a bit at loose ends because I felt like we were left hanging on several things that I wanted these characters to be the ones to figure out and put a stop to, and the way this story progressed, I thought that it would be a duology and get wrapped up in two books. But I just saw that Elle is writing another book which is the start of a Legacy of Broken Thrones book 1 called Beneath the Briar Moon, and I am sad and sort of have mixed feelings that this may be the series where all of this is figured out and fixed, which I am sure will be phenomenal, but I wanted these characters who worked so hard and sacrificed so much to be the ones to put everything right
Anywho. Incredible story that I love more the more I think about it, even with my sadness at the ending, and I cannot wait to see what Elle writes next, in this world and in others!

OK so maybe I didn't get as obsessed about it as much as other Elle Madison books but I think it's because it's a standalone that doesn't feel like a standalone and I want more. At the same time, I LOVED that not everything gets tied up in the end. And I really really liked the world, and the magic types, and the characters, and everything really. The humor was on point and it just was really good.
Having said all this, I CANNOT WAIT for the next one, and will of course buy this. I renewed my Kindle Unlimited subscription to read this as it came out, and I don't regret that one bit.
I predicted a lot of it but there were a lot of things I was expecting all the way to the end and if this doesn't get a sequel, I guess I was wrong? I'm confused by the next Legacy of Broken Thrones book also being a standalone and I get the small connection based on this book's ending but some of the stuff I was expecting probably won't carry over.
I really enjoyed how Bramble played a big part throughout the book. I wish we had more interactions with side characters though. I really liked Verena and Rhian's friendship and would've wanted to see more of it. It also felt a bit of a plot hole when Xandros came with a whole group but then we only ever really meet the healer and the rest are only there when the plot needs it a couple times and then after that, it's like they never existed.
Also, I might have read: "something in my chest loosened" or very similar way too many times Elle LOL My attention to detail kept focusing on the phrase everytime it came up.

This story was an emotional roller-coaster and was so intense! There were moments of hilarious banter, moments of hurt and losses which were heavy and tragic and moments of desire and deep burning feelings. It is a true romantasy and the writing makes you feel for these characters and their story.
Verena is extremely stubborn (and frustrating) and she's loyal to the Mother Tree and her home. She's unapologetically brave and ready to meet challenges head on. She seeks every possible way to save her people and land, fighting with everything she has and is willing to sacrifice everything to strengthen the Veil.
Xandros is smart and devoted, trying to find ways to help both realms. He supports Verena, seeks her input, considers her wishes and searches for ways to work with her to end the sickness, even if it means going against his king.
And then there's Bramble! Verena's cute,
feisty, thieving and anxious Kindred (bonded). His thieving antics made me laugh, his worry and anxious cries made me sad and his devotion to Verena was so endearing.
I enjoyed the overall storyline, loved the reluctant allies and forced proximity tropes of this book, the nicknames and really felt for the characters and their impossible choices. Stuck between two dying worlds, both Verena and Xandros had to decide if they would be true to their duty and realm or to each other.
Asterra gave me Shadow and Bone vibes.
The Deepwood and the Wild magic reminded me a little of Furn Gully. The magical elements and demanding sacrifices reminded me of how I felt with the latter books of An Ember in the Ashes series. All of these meshed together so well!
The ending was shocking, had my heart
in it's clutches, and left me ready for more Asterra and more of the other lands beyond the Deepwood. While this is an interconnecte standalone, it sets the story up for the connection to Beneath the Briar Moon perfectly. I am looking forward to continued world building, exploring the realm more, and I'm curious to see how the outcome of this book affects Beneath the Briar Moon.
Favorite quotes and noteworthy content:
Dedication: For the wildflowers who bloom in dying worlds— may you find light when the stars disappear, roots when the earth gives way, and a love worth crossing worlds to choose.
“Wildflowers have a way of appearing in broken places. Places that have been burned, abandoned, or left for dead.” ... “They find whatever light remains, and somehow, they still bloom.”
"I was just considering how much I enjoyed seeing you happy.”

I just finished All the Stars We Buried, and honestly? I’m having such mixed feelings about it... 😅 It has so many things I usually love in a fantasy romance. The worldbuilding is genuinely gorgeous... the contrast between the lush, ancient green forest and that eerie, starlit, dying world of Asterra was so vivid and atmospheric. And Xandros? I really liked him. He’s that quiet, respectful, protective kind of love interest, and when he calls her Wildflower... yeah, it definitely gave me butterflies 🙈. Their banter, especially in the quieter moments, was really sweet.
But by the time I hit the last third of the book, I just felt... a bit disconnected and unsatisfied with how things played out 😕.
For one, the romance was developing so naturally through trust and shared struggles, so finding out there was a magical "soul bond" pulling the strings underneath felt unnecessary to me. I wanted them to just choose each other on their own terms, without destiny needing to step in...
Also, the pacing in the final act felt a little repetitive with the physical exhaustion and the constant near-collapses. Verena is supposed to be this capable guardian, but she spent so much time being caught and carried that it started pulling me out of the story a bit.
And then... that ending. Without spoiling too much, the choice she makes at the very end just broke my heart in the wrong way 💔. Severing her bond with her companion Bramble—after building up how precious that connection was the entire book—just felt too painful to accept for the sake of the romance. Giving up her magic, her home, and her life to follow him into a dying, dangerous realm felt more impulsive than romantic, and it left me with a heavy, unsettled feeling rather than that satisfying emotional payoff you hope for...
Overall, it wasn't a terrible read—it definitely had heart, beautiful imagery, and high stakes. But between the tropes and the choices made in the finale, I just finished this book feeling more tired and conflicted than amazed...
My honest rating? A solid 3 / 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐

An enemies to lovers that are still on opposite sides romance featuring magic connected to nature and the stars and an animal sidekick I would do anything for!
You follow the FMC, a Druid with a connection to nature through the mother tree that gives life to all their land and helps keep them safe. But when it seems like portals are being ripped open in their land and tainting their world with a dark magic that makes them sick and is killing their land and people, the FMC must form an unlikely alliance with a Fae Prince who followed her through that portal from his land and find out what this is that is slowly killing both of their lands and people, especially since one of the ones affected is the FMCs closest friend. They learn of a magic that between the two of them can control these “roads” between the lands and must continue to explore this connection between them to figure out how to control it and use it to save both their people.
I really liked the different magical elements of this world and how the FMC was connected to nature and through it got an animal companion and the mmc was connected to the stars and constellations and how both those magics ended up being physically represented on their bodies. I really liked the MMC and how calm and willing to listen and work together he was even before he had this bond with the FMC that depended as they got to know each other and how they both would do anything to protect their people even if it meant sacrificing this new relationship brewing between them. There was plenty of tension and build up between them as they had to decide between focusing on their mission or giving into this thing between them. Of course bramble was my favorite character as I love an animal side kick with their own personality! Overall this was a fun read that closed out some of the story while still leaving it open for a future tale. My rating 4.4/5!

All The Stars We Buried is an action, vine and starlight-packed adventure from its first page.
Verena, a druid from the Deepwood, is oath bound to protect the Mother Tree. Xandros is a Prince with celestial magic whose world and people are dying beneath the same Briar Moon that has now appeared in the Deepwood. Can these two unlikely allies find a way to heal both their worlds before the terrifying Marred monsters spread their corruption?
I really enjoyed the relationship between Verena and Xandros. Verena is sassy, stubborn and sarcastic whilst Xandros is a gentleman, giving off all the green flags! Their love isn't insta-love nor is it enemies to lovers which was refreshing. Their people are historically enemies but the characters themselves don't hold any of those prejudices. There is a tiny amount of spice, maybe at an "open door" level but nothing is explicit.
I also need to give a special shout out to Bramble, a greedy, cheeky Pine Marten and Verena's Kindred who gives off serious Meeko-from-Pocahontas vibes. He was adorable and I immediately fell in love with him.
The world building by Elle was lovely, you got a real feeling of the stark difference between life in the Grove, under the Mother Tree's protection and that in the dying Royal city of Asterra. However, there were a few events where I couldn't quite grasp what was happening and that affected the flow of the story for me.
And obviously, as we have come to expect from Elle, at around 90% into the book she decides to pull the emotional rug out from under us and make us bawl like babies! This is not a happily ever after book my friends! This is an ugly cry and curse the cliffhanger kind of situation!
Thank you to Elle for an advanced copy of All The Stars We Buried. You can discover the magic for yourself on September 8th

Lets start with what I liked about this book.
I liked that Xandros and Verena didn't instantly love or hate one another because of history neither of them was alive for. This book actually showed them talking and learning more about each other, inspite of what others said they should think about each other. I liked the magic system, and the world it was created it. It felt very old forest, where we're magical little fairies protecting the world we live in yet it also didn't feel like a early YA novel.
However, as much as this world was intriguing and I adored the vibes of this book, I felt very confused for a good portion of it as to what was going on. The writing at the beginning was a little hard to follow especially with the descriptions of somethings, I was constantly having to change my mental images of things as they shifted in the book based on descriptions. I also had a bit of a hard time following who was speaking in larger conversations, even more so when the kindred were involved, because even though they couldn't speak everyone kind of knew what they were saying? I'm not really sure how the kindred work.
I do wish this book had been split into two so we had more time to spend in this world and figure out how the magic system and the structure and hierarchy of the world works without feeling like we sacrificed that to move the plot along. I also wish we had found a way to save both worlds instead of sacrificing everything for the Deepwood and letting Asterra become a dying mortal world, I feel like I'm missing parts of the book without it also being saved.
Overall, while it did take me a hot minute to get into the book, once I was in, I was in and wanted to figure out what was going on and how to save both worlds without destroying everything.

I knew Elle was talented when she wrote with Robin Mahle, but she's just as strong as a solo writer as well! And this book blew me away!
This book hit the ground running from the first page, and it didn't slow down until the end. And boy, let me just tell you, the emotional rollercoaster was a wild friggin ride!
I truly loved this book and its characters--especially, Xandros, Verena, and Bramble. They're so raw and relatable in their duties, love, loyalties, and commitment to each other. And Bramble is adorable, funny, and so fiercely loyal.
I also really liked the world building--both the lush vitality of the Deepwood as well as the dying star that is Asterra. Both are so well written that I can imagine the characters in either place.
My only complaint is the emotional scars suffered mostly at the end. I'll admit, I wanted that happily ever after. And I wanted it badly. Especially, after everything Verena and Xandros went through. Instead, there's that bittersweet aftertaste of what could've been. To be fair, I did say they were relatable in their rawness. And that ending is RAW, messy, with just the tiniest threads of hope woven through to believe forgiveness could be achieved at some point, that happiness could still be an end goal that is possible.
All of that is to say, I still really loved this book. No, I didn't get the HEA I wanted. But I did get a hard fought for hope, and a possibility of happiness, as well as a book that stays with you long after the last page has been read.

When I saw that Elle was coming out with a new book, I couldn't be more excited. I have loved her writing for years now and have been anticipating reading it for weeks and it definitely didn't disappoint.
In this story we're introduced to a whole new magical world. Not only are you learning about the characters and what the world is like, but you're pulled right into the action from almost page one. I really liked Verena and Xandros. I feel like I was walking along with Verena, trying to put the pieces together with her, and Xandros is a walking green flag and a true gentleman every step of the way. One of my favorite parts is that Elle always knows the way to my heart with the best animal sidekicks. Bramble is adorable, hilarious and extremely protective of his people.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and was on the edge of my seat the entire time having to know what happens next. I would have read this book in a day if it weren't for the tiny humans I have to take care of. There were a few parts where I was a little confused and it took me a few minutes to follow back along, but otherwise this was another excellent story from Elle and I can't wait to dive more into this world with her.

I could not wait to read Elle's debut solo novel, and wow, did it not disappoint! This woman throws you right into an intricate world of different magic systems, failing pathways, and undeniable tension. I actually prefer to be thrown into a world and have it unfold as I read the story vs. an author giving me everything upfront before getting into the story. I was sold on this one from the first sentence.
I LOVED our FMC who wasn't looking to be hero in any way, shape, or form, but when faced with what was right, she did not hesitate to make the right decisions, no matter how much danger she was in. I also really like the MMC and his undeniable (although at times questionable) care for our FMC.
This magic system is honestly probably one of my favorites. I feel like we don't get alot of stories with Druid magic, and Elle's take on that was so refreshing and new!
Elle created a masterpiece filled with tension, hard choices, intricate magic, and bluntly and really entertaining storyline. I would absolutely read again and again.

I cannot tell you how excited I was to get this book as an ARC!
It was a tad slow at the start, and there were a few parts where I was slightly confused or just wanted more info about the world and magic system, but by about 25% I was fully committed and needed to know what happened next!
I adore that the FMC and MMC aren't true enemies to lovers. Their people are enemies, but the two of them always treated each other with respect and worked to get to know the other long before romantic feelings showed up between them and I loved that! It felt far more organic than a lot of romantacy books these days where it's them verbally hating each other while mentally it's insta-lust. There was none of that here and it was so refreshing!
The ending was a twist that I wasn't expecting and I loved it! I can't wait to read more from this author, and hopefully she'll give us more of this world and these characters, even though this is a standalone.

OMG this fantasy read was incredible. From the start you find yourself drawn in as we enter the Deepwood and meet some extraordinary characters and discover the wild! We discover two worlds linked by magic both suffering from a corruption, one world worse than the other and only two people can save them. Verena is an incredible FMC, strong, loyal and totally kick ass and Xandros our MMC is strong, gentle and also a warrior and together they make an incredible team and of course let’s not forget about Bramble who is cute and fierce and linked to Verena. It’s an enthralling and unique read from the magic in the trees and plants to the stars in Asterra. Can we save both worlds? sacrifices will have to be made, decisions decided and hearts broken and yes I wept like a baby at that ending but boy am I ever ready for the where this author takes us next!

All the Stars We Buried is an enchanting introduction to a new world filled with magic, adorable animal familiars, and an ancient prophecy. But something sinister is stirring in The Deepwood, threatening the Veil that separates the realms of Elderan and Asterra. As Verena and Xandros race against time to save both worlds, they’re forced to confront secrets, danger, and a fate neither of them could have anticipated.
With stunning world-building and beautifully poetic writing, this was a story I couldn’t put down! If you love enemies to lovers, forced proximity, ancient prophecies, and devastating sacrifices, then I highly recommend picking up All the Stars We Buried.
I received this ebook for free as an ARC reader but my review and opinion are my own.

This was such a beautifully crafted fantasy! From the very beginning, I was pulled into this world and wanted to know more. I especially loved the magic system and the way the main character's connection to her elemental magic was woven into the story. The world felt vivid without being overwhelming, and I loved discovering all of the different pieces of it as the story progressed.
There’s corruption, danger, sacrifice, forbidden connections, and some truly impossible decisions. Basically, all the things I want in a fantasy. 😂 By the end, I was completely invested in these characters and this world. This was my first book by this author, but it definitely won’t be my last. I’m looking forward to seeing what she does next!

This is a story full of forbidden love, devastation, heartbreak, and finding yourself. When two worlds meet after decades apart the FMC and MMC try to fight the pull to one another and must also fight to save their own worlds but that may leave one to suffer. This is a standalone but is leading up to another series that will take place must later so while this story ends for these characters it does lead onto something more at the very end. Be warned this isn't sunshine and rainbows HEA but a true we will make it through our past with out love intact end. This was a fantasy with some great animal companions and interesting magic system. I came to love these characters and cherish their fight for each other.

This romantic fantasy had such an interesting mix of magic! I loved the contrast between the moon Fae magic and the forest-based Druid magic, especially as the two worlds became tangled together. The romance between Verena and Xandros is a really slow burn with reluctant allies, forbidden love, forced proximity, and that constant struggle between choosing your people or choosing each other. I also loved Bramble, equal parts adorable, mischievous, and completely devoted.
The corrupted/rabid creatures in the forest gave me Shield of Sparrows vibes, which added a darker edge to the magical woodland setting. Between the dying worlds, forbidden romance, unique magic system, unwanted bond, and a chaotic animal sidekick, there was a lot here that kept me interested.

All the Stars We Buried opened straight away with action and the pace didn’t really let up through the whole book! I really enjoyed this as it kept me engaged and wanting to pick the book up again and again. The writing was well done and very descriptive, I could imagine everything that was on the page. I’m glad that this isn’t a standalone, or that we at least get more of the world, as the ending was heartbreaking. The epilogue helped ease some of the pain but I’m hopeful that as the world expands, more answers are given! I’d recommend this book to anyone who enjoys unique magic systems, a play on fated mates, and adorable animal companions (I love you Bramble)!
Thank you for the ARC, all opinions are my own.

All the Stars We Buried by is an enemies-to-lovers epic romantasy about dying worlds, ancient prophecy, impossible choices and the person you were never supposed to choose. It was very difficult to put this book down. I loved the unique magic system, rich world building, and especially the heroine’s very adorable animal familiar. The romance is the perfect blend of real raw emotion, humor and witty banter. The love interest is very swoony and reminded me of Rhsyand in some ways. I am going to need book two immediately, especially after that absolutely devastating sacrifice and happy for now ending.

Elle Madison paints a beautiful and vivid world in All the Stars We Buried.
Verena and Xandros come from different realms that once warred with each other. They should be enemies, but something pulls and bonds them together. One realm is dying while the other is in jeopardy of the same fate. Verena must make a difficult choice in the end.
Verena's companion pine martin, is absolute precious and could easily steal the whole show. Some of the events are quite complex and could be confusing. (I had to reread them.) The ending is an open ending meaning the reader is able to form their own conclusion as to what happens next- or Elle Madison has the opportunity to write a sequel. *wink* There is one heated moment in this book, but the spice is very closed door.
Thank you to Elle Madison for the opportunity to read this story.
* I received the epilogue after writing this review. It gives some closure to this book making it a true standalone. Plus, it gives a great segway into the next book, Beneath the Briar Moon.
This is on my TBR again and I am anxiously awaiting book 2.

If I could give more stars, I would. I fell in love with Elle's writing when she was working with her co-author Robin D. Mahle. This book has the same kind of tension between the major characters. What I did not expect was the love I would find for a world ruled by a narcissist. That is how Elle writes. She shows you the beauty, and evil, and somehow us readers are still left wanting more. If you think you have an idea of what might happen, trust me, you don't. Elle is very good at giving us just enough, to then turn it on its head. I highly recommend this novel. And this author. I cannot wait to see what might happen next!

Seriously one of the best books I've read in a long time! I was on the edge of my seat from the beginning & that continued throughout to the end! Xandros was such a reasonable & logical while also being very caring & compassionate & being helpful without taking away from those he helped & funny! I loved Verena's strength & her humor, how sarcastic & clever she was & how loyal they both were!
I really can't recommend this book enough! I laughed I cried, my heart was racing! I got all the feels 🩶

Loved
I was engrossed from page one! I loved the world building. Such a unique magic system. Druids and Fae. Yes !
There is so much I loved about this book!! Now no spoilers.
Verena and Xandros, I love their banter and humor.
Absolutely loved Bramble- the pine marten sidekick with trust issues who can be bribed with food lol
There were so many feels, laughter, tears, anger. I felt them all !!
They shouldn’t have a bond, they shouldn’t fall in love…
Cannot wait for the rest of the world to experience it !!

I loved this story so much - the atmosphere was sooo good! The world was so cool - the familiars, the Druids with their connection to the trees, the neighboring human world (with similar problems), and the Moon Fae with their constellations.
The stakes were high, the connection between Verena and Xandros felt just right, and the price to pay was possibly even higher.
This was such a great intro to this new world!

This was an entrancing story full of sacrifice, impossible decisions, and a bond that was never supposed to be formed.
I really enjoyed the world and interesting magic. The connection the FMC had with her elemental magic was so unique.
The author's writing style throws you right into the chaos unfolding. The ties between their worlds and corruption magic had me absorbed in the narrative.
Thanks so much to Luna Blooms and the author for the ARC!
