Kaylah Shaw is everything Megan never wanted: impatient and abrasive, too tall and groomed to an unnatural perfection. One encounter is enough to last the failed photographer a lifetime. When she moves into Megan's apartment building, however, Kaylah shows up at her door, with her smooth, long legs and a compelling smile, and surprises her with the request for a photoshoot. Finding some undeniable quality at the bottom of her dark eyes, Megan agrees, never expecting that Kaylah would take control of the shoot, with gentle but unerring dominance, and open her up to a world never explored before.
This will probably not make much sense, but I held back reading this story for a long while, just to savor it. To know that it was waiting for me. You see, I adore Laila Blake. She is her own brand of awesome-sauce, but her lesbian-themed books are rare as hen's teeth so I need to space it out a little. Make it last.
So now I've read it and it was everything I knew it would be. Her writing is sensual but also very grounded. She can be poetic but at the same time say the dirtiest things. It was only 46 pages but nevertheless the characters feel very complete, you really get to know them. She makes sure you do.
The story is told from the pov of Megan. Her life is about to change forever when newly arrived neighbor Kaylah Shaw turns up on her doorstep. At first she doesn't like Kayla, she is abrasive and her beauty intimidating. But when she invites Megan over to her apartment to do a photoshoot something unexpected happens. A smouldering story of submission as only Ms. Blake can treat you to.

5 stars
---------------- Laila is still fantastic and she still doesn't write enough lesfic ;-)
Lesbian BDSM erotica, if that's your thing. It's not really my thing, but Laila Blake is, I think, phenomenally talented (if you like romantic BDSM [albeit very hardcore, as it goes] you need to read the Driftwood Deeds trilogy, asap). This was very short and very dirty and yet created two well-rounded characters. Blake has a beautiful way with words whilst also being wonderfully dirty and forthright in the way she writes sex scenes. This isn't five stars because, as I say, lesbian erotica isn't my thing but I enjoyed it very much.
Laila Blake’s stories are always well-written, emotive, and visual. The balance of sensuality, language, and character exploration in this story is spot-on!
Although short (46 pages) I felt I got to know the two main characters in detail, and could understand their connection to each other. I was satisfied with the ending, however, I can see this leading to a series in a similar vein to Laila’s ‘Breaking Waves’ trilogy.
It was interesting to read a BDSM story with two females. The relationship created in this story was very believable and little moments of humor made it easy to read.
If you like this genre and haven’t read Laila Blake’s work yet, I urge you to grab a copy now! If you like erotica, but hesitate to read a lesbian scenario, I suggest you be brave and give it a chance too. You’re in good hands with this author.
