A fun post-apocalyptic LitRPG with intense action and believable chemistry between the two main characters. At times it felt like watching two real buddies get dropped into a mix of Fallout and Battlefield-style FPS (but with cryptids). An enjoyable read, especially if you like gaming inspired-apocalypse stories.

Read this book!

You will laugh, you will cry, and probably both at the same time as you curse the author for making you feel all the feels in a single paragraph.

Don't be fooled; this is unlike any another litRPG. Most are pretty copy and paste scenarios, but Patch Notes is on a level all it's own. AND if you are not a fan of litRPG style stories, GREAT! This book is for you too!

The characters have real depth and human complexities that make them not only relatable, but those special book characters that are as real to you as your best friends. If you want to get lost in the action, the emotion, and the suspense read this and thank me later.

Action packed right in the first chapter, set with a modern tone and filled with crass humor and cryptic figures, Patch Notes was grounded and fun to read, covering themes of betrayal, self discovery, grief, shame, friendship, religious faith, all while lost in a virtual reality.
